So far in the series, Joanne has been getting more and more concerned about the amount of listening and surveillance which is all around her. And to make matters WORSE, her producers then take her to visit the worlds biggest listening station - on a hillside in North Yorkshire. Intrigued and terrified in equal measure - Joanne starts to wonder why it even exists, and why America was so worried about Furbys when they have an entire fleet of listening devices in the UK!Joanne then speaks to her pal Roisin Conaty and together they conduct an experiment to find out if their mobile phones really listen to conversations. Picking a random topic which they've never discussed before, they go in deep, and then wait to see if their phones start sending bespoke adverts. And the results are surprising. With so much concern, Joanne then calls on a tech expert Jake Moore to clean up her social media... fix her privacy settings, and generally help her stay safe online. Jake spots some issues within Joanne's apps, uncovers a scam she recently fell for, and then, inexplicably, helps Joanne access the dark web...The series is produced by What's The Story for BBC Sounds.

Joe and David catch up with their old mate comedian Roisin Conaty. While they wait for her they tell each other elephant jokes. Roisin kicks off by telling them about cold water swimming, getting the shits and losing her voice. After swapping loads of funny stories they start taking post-it notes off David's pin board and talking about whatever is on it, this throws up some even funnier stories including being bullied into touching a stags antlers. They decide Roisin is a wise owl, Joe is an old soul and David is a kid at heart. Joe reminisces about when Roisin used to run a weird little gig in Westminster and he thought she worked for the government. Roisin talks about people having their lights on or off and explains the concept to David before asking them if they went to prison what crime would they have comitted. The chat has whizzed by and Joe and David don't want it to end but sadly it must. It's Episode 15 and we're adoring the sunshine! Alex tells us about a sentimental and charming novel about moving past grief while Rhiannon has been exploring Roisin Conaty's comedy, GameFace. Alex has taken one for the team and watched Seaspiracy and divulges all the dirty secrets of the sea. Rhiannon, however, has been reading critique of Seaspiracy (see below), giving context to this dramatic documentary. Rhiannon regales us with a story about Rosamund Pike with her thumb up the bum of a pineapple, before telling us about Pike's new film, I Care a Lot, featuring a sketchy legal system and a very sharp bob. And finally, Alex has been re-discovering beauty and pretending it's not pretentious with the music of Aurora. Damien Molony, star of Brassic, Game Face, Suspects, Crashing and Ripper Street joins Jarlath for a rare conversation about his life, career and a few of the more ridiculous moments that have gotten him to where he is today. There’s plenty I’d laugh out loud moments as Damien explains how he learned of Patrick Stewart’s obsession with Huddersfield Town (42:00), his show stopping performance as Kung Fu Panda (19:00), his unusual audition and instant connection with Roisin Conaty on the set of Game Face (46:00). We also get a scoop on the hotly anticipated season 3 of Brassic (1:14:00) and much more. There is also news on the next Irishman Abroad Online Comedy Club and a new series starting at the end of the month. In what was one of the most enjoyable live episodes of the series to date, Laura Whitmore and Roisin Conaty joined Jarlath live in front of a sold out Soho Theatre to discuss sexism, consent and their hopes for gender equality in the future. With refreshing honesty, Laura and Roisin speak about the routine abuse of women (11:00), how men are judged differently to women for the exact same behaviours (23:00) and hilariously beating online trolls at their own game (39:00). From Laura’s unsettling experience with a policeman outside her home (48:00) and the time a male colleague took issue with the fact that she was being paid more than him (26:00) to how Roisin was told to avoid men attacking her on the street (9:00) and much, much more, this episode is a true highlight of the series to date. Einen Life Coach. Keinen Therapeuten. Sie ist ja nicht verrückt. Nein, nein, Attila Hildmann ja auch nicht! Achtung, hier kommt eine Serie zum Lachen!
Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn talks to Scott and Chris about the return of live sport and answers questions he’s never been asked before, Roisin Conaty chats about Afterlife, and Keith Lemon and Anna Richardson play the Upside Down Quiz.

Aasmah Mir and Rev Richard Coles talk to former SAS soldier Andy McNab. He was captured in Iraq while leading the Bravo Two Zero mission in 1991. His book on his ordeal became a bestseller - his first of many. His latest book "Get Me Out Of Here" is aimed at young readers. Children's book illustrator Axel Scheffler has given visual form to Julia Donaldson's characters The Gruffalo, Stick Man, Room on the Broom, A Squash and a Squeeze and many more. But if you find the Gruffalo scary, be aware that Axel's original version was even more menacing. His latest books are "Kind" and "The Smeds and the Smoos" - two stories about tolerance and inclusivity. Veronica Thompson goes by the stage name Fancy Chance when she performs aerial burlesque while hanging from her hair. Her show Flights of Fancy explores ideas of beauty and her feelings of alienation at having been abandoned as a baby on the doorstep of a South Korean police station. Actor and comedian Roisin Conaty shares her Inheritance Tracks. And listener Emma Wyatt-Haines talks about overcoming serious spinal injury to compete in an Iron Man contest. With Terri on holiday this week, we're thrilled to welcome comedian Roisin Conaty as our guest co-host. The GameFace creator, writer and star joins James and Boyd to chew over everything from Netflix's cancellation of The OA to the twisted genius of The Boys and why This Life was one of the most important shows ever made. Roisin schools James soundly on the essence of comedy during a particularly in-depth Funny Or Dyer, Banshees Blossom and is generally delightful. In addition to upping the star power this week, we dive into the new season of Succession, ITV's Deep Water and the grammatically problematic NOS4A2.
In 2010 Roisin Conaty won best newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe. She’s acted in After Life and created, produced and starred in the sitcom GameFace. AND she once won a celebrity darts tournament with the nickname The Wedding Slinger. Plus author Mike McCormack helps us figure out what it’s like to be a Mayo football fan.
Nikki Bedi and Athena Kugblenu are joined by Tez Ilyas, Roisin Conaty and Dean Atta for an eclectic mix of conversation, music and comedy. With music from Rozi Plain and Bill Ryder-Jones. Producer: Sukey Firth

The woman in all your favourite TV shows, Tiff Stevenson is the newest hilarious member of The Hot Mess Clubhouse. You’ll know her from years as a brilliant stand-up comedian and her sell-out Edinburgh Fringe shows, but she’s also a writer and actor. She’s in the amazing BBC show People Just Do Nothing and the incredibly relatable Gameface with her friend Roisin Conaty. Clubhouse host, Lucy Vine gets serious and silly with Tiff about a range of subjects including the curse of big boobs, kink-shaming, and accidentally murdering goldfish with perfume. Music by Harry Harris. Recorded at Acast studios and produced by Hannah Varrall. See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
The 300th episode of the series is like no other episode. The conversation between Jarlath and his six guests ranges from their most hilarious stories of feeling like a fish out of water abroad to questioning whether the changes that have taken place back home can be believed. Aisling Bea speaks for the very first time about making her new sitcom series for Channel 4 “This Way Up” (34:00). Angela Scanlon confesses to the mortifying downside of faking it until you make it (26:00). Roisín's Philomena Begley obsession is explored (24:00). Bronagh Waugh tries to unpick why Northern Ireland continues to be an after thought in Westminster (43:00). Niall Breslin takes us back to his first ever episode of Irishman Abroad and how it changed the conversations he was having with other men about mental health (14:00). Laura Whitmore tells of the most Irish reason for a first date fail (11:00) and how the up-skirting law change should provide us all with hope for other changes in society (49:00). There’s music from the superb singer song-writer Emmet O’Malley (59:00) for more see emmetomalley.com) and DJ Chewy Chewerson makes a special presentation to Jarlath. (Patreon Full Length Version Only). Huge thanks to all our guests, the staff at the Underbelly, the London Irish Centre for all their help in promoting the show (https://www.londonirishcentre.org/), DJ Chewy (is available for bookings) and Emmet O’Malley for his performance on the night. Sean's choice is the Getaway by Jim Thompson with its weird ending, and Harriett chooses Beryl Bainbridge's novel set on the Titanic, Every Man for Himself.
Rob Beckett is joined in the studio by fellow comedian Roisin Conaty; talking tours, football and how to stay awake on the road. Also, this week's First XI is made up of football's cleverest players and the new feature Guess the Goal makes its first appearance.

Hello there! John is in New Zealand "blowing minds" (performing) this week, and so Elis was left to man the ship in his absence - but fear not, as a pajama-wearing Roisin Conaty stepped in (eventually) to help Elis, and John even made an appearance through the magic of the telephone. There's news of John's new Wikipedia page, mention of Gazza, and a quite incredible call in Textual Healing from Steve in Kent. Plus Elis and Roisin discuss your excuses for lateness, and Producer Simon talks us through a Marriage Preparation Class he recently attended. John will be back in the studio next week - join him and Elis next Sunday from 10am til 1pm on Xfm!

Eliza Skinner, John Finnemore, Jonah Ray and Roisin Conaty join guest host Cameron Esposito, to uncover the British equivalents to hay-riding and Kim Kardashian. Special guest Julie Klam tells us about her new book Friendkeeping: A Field Guide to the People You Love, Hate and Can’t Live Without and is incredibly tolerant of Eliza’s latest comic character. Engineered by Lindsay Pavlas and Chris Morris, written by Jordan Morris and Tom Neenan and produced by Colin Anderson.
Roisin Conaty and Tom Allen provide able assistance in a battle over who is going to change the TV remote control batteries. In the course of this world-changing episode you won't learn... whether Ben shouts 'Leamington' during sex; which is better: digestive or custard creme; and how many Blue Peters featured the dog Petra. You will hear... Matthew getting confused over which Tom is which; one of the Toms cracking an awful joke about buzzers; and the other one telling an entirely non-scary ghost story.
