Thanks to an anonymous angel investor, it received funding for a third time, but just last week SquareRoot ceased development yet again It has been discovered by KiraTV (a YouTuber close to the project) that lead dev Unravel misappropriated funds on a $150,000 cryptocurrency investment and purchased a tesla for personal use. Unravel also attempted to bribe KiraTV to not investigate all of this. TESLA'S V11 UI CHANGES ARE RECEIVING STRONG CRITICAL FEEDBACK FROM DRIVERS - Reveral Tesla owners have shared strong criticisms of Software V11's user interface, particularly with how it made accessing some important functions more difficult compared to V10. - A good number of these complaints could be seen in the r/TeslaMotors subreddit, a community of over 1.48 million users. Over the past few days alone, numerous Tesla owners have gone on the subreddit to share their displeasure at the UI changes that came with V11 — to much agreement among the online group's users - Tesla owners are not happy about the fact that some functionalities such as driver profiles, seat warmers, trip information, save dashcam, and tire pressure (to name a few) now require more taps to access than before. Some Tesla owners have gone as far as to state that since some features now require an extra step to access, their vehicle could end up being less safe. - Tesla owners noting that the icons in the new update do not have the same uniform, polished look as those that were used in V10. Others noted that the position of information such as the vehicle's speed had regressed as well, as the driver's hand could end up covering the speedometer - The fact that there are icons for Tesla Arcade, Toybox, and Theater — which are inaccessible when the car is on Drive anyway — and none for tire pressure, trip information, seat heaters, and lights, was deemed strange as well. Outside of the initial teaser photos released by Rolls-Royce earlier this year, we haven't seen any other details of the electric Rolls. That's changed today, as one of our spy shooters captured a test Spectre both on the pavement and on a flatbed. - The most intriguing angle of view is directly from the front. We can just make out that this Rolls appears to be wearing a version of the upcoming stacked headlight look previously spied on soon-to-come BMW models like the next-gen 7 Series and refreshed X7. - One of the last intriguing items of note is the angle of the rear tire when the driver has the steering wheel at full lock. It's not an extreme angle of rear-wheel steer, but the rear wheel does appear to be turned in the opposite direction as the fronts. Specifically, the government aims to build an optimized and balanced energy management system, allowing real-time monitoring, online analysis, and dispatch for regional energy information. The government will push forward the mutual interaction between electric vehicles and intelligent grid, forming an intelligent and efficient charging infrastructure system with ample charging piles. It makes sense then that both would end up getting premium-level Plaid tri-motor speedy goodness. - the first Model X Plaid SUVs have made their way into the hands of the public. - Of course, the new car has a landscape infotainment system which is a big upgrade over the old portrait-style version. It's also got the rear-seat screen that controls media and climate controls. - It's important to note that while not discussed in the video, there are clearly some hilariously mismatched panels. Most notably, the Falcon-wing doors look like they settle too low on each side. This causes them to not line up with the front doors or the rear quarter panels. - We know that the Model S Plaid has had some major braking problems. It seems to go without saying that the much heavier Model X is likely to have similar if not worse issues reigning in its 1,020-horsepower. Deliveries of the two EVs are now underway, albeit in small numbers, but Rivian has more than 70,000 preorders to work through. - As of December 15, the CEO wrote, “we had approximately 71,000 preorders for the R1T and R1S in the US and Canada.” Of that, “the large majority” opted for the Adventure Package trim, with Rivian's Large pack battery. - Rivian also has a Max pack battery, which costs $10,000 more but promises 400+ miles of range. However that configuration – though available for reservation-holders to select – wasn't expected to go into production until later in 2022. Even if consumers sign a new contract on the remaining days of this year, they won't be able to acquire the car in 2022, but in 2023. There are cases where the price of a used car overtakes the price of a new car or even gives up subsidies to purchase as shortage of the supply becomes more prevale - Front-line branches are waiting 13 months for Kia EV6, 12 months for Genesis GV60, and 8 months for Ioniq5 from contract to shipment are required. The actual delivery date may change again depending on the status of subsidies by local governments. An official from the Kia branches said, "The EV6, which uses a lot of semiconductors, has been delayed for more than a year, so it is difficult to confirm when it will be shipped if you sign a contract now. We only received an official letter from the head office telling us to announce change in delivery schedule from time to time to avoid customer complaints.” - As the delay in shipments becomes a serious issue, the price of a used car are even exceeding that of a new car. TESLA ANNOUNCES FREE HOLIDAY SUPERCHARGING - Tesla is making its Supercharging free for the holidays -- with some caveats. The move, which is intended to curb long wait times at the automaker's charging stations during this busy season, is limited to off-peak hours in select locations. - A map on Tesla's consumer website confirms that between Thursday, Dec. 23 and Sunday, Dec. 26, owners motoring along select travel routes in the US can receive free charging at specific stations between the hours of 7 p.m. and 10 a.m. (local time zone). - The majority of stations covered under this incentive are concentrated on the West Coast, primarily in California, where over 30 locations are free, as well as Arizona (10 locations) and Nevada (7 locations). Tesla CEO Elon Musk indicated the feature was in development in July 2020, but now it's here to (hopefully) make maneuvers like changing highway lanes a little bit safer. - Other practical improvements include an easier way to add multiple waypoints to a journey, and simplified controls for accessing a car's primary controls. It means the former now starts from £25,805 on-the-road including the grant, with the latter down to £29,365 including the grant. - Vauxhall's decision to reduce the price of its two electric cars means that even the expensive trim levels, namely the Corsa-e Elite and Mokka-e Ultimate, all fall under the £32,000 cap on the grant, so are eligible for the £1,500 discount. Within just three years, half of all vehicles built in Ingolstadt should be fully electric, and “from 2028, only electric cars will then roll off the production line in Ingolstadt,” an Audi spokesperson told Der Spiegel. - The first model to be produced in Ingolstadt will be the Q6 e-tron. The Audi spokesperson said the first pre-production units are already being built and series production is planned for 2023. The Q6 e-tron is based on the new PPE electric platform, on which Porsche will also introduce the electric Macan successor in parallel. The driver can take their hands off the wheel, feet off the pedals, and can also divert their eyes and attention elsewhere such as answering emails or watching a movie. Luminar developed its own hardware and software and created the Iris sensing platform for significantly less cost. - Its lidar can read the landscape from 1,148-1,640 feet away, depending on the size of the object, which is much further than the human eye can see or headlights can illuminate. That is a real strength because it gives the vehicle more time to react. - Luminar will provide lidar sensors to Volvo starting in late 2022. They will be used in the Volvo XC90 replacement, which could be called the Embla. The new 2022 flagship electric SUV will be on the next generation of Volvo's Scalable Product Architecture or SPA2, designed to handle the advanced driving capability. - Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath said he will wait until 2025 to make the more advanced Level 3 hands-free system available in the Polestar 3. Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe broke the news to buyers in an email sent Friday morning.   - The Amazon and Ford-backed EV startup originally planned to start delivering its electric pickup, the R1T, and its SUV, the R1S, in 2020. But it scuttled those plans at the beginning of the pandemic and said at the time that it would start deliveries in 2021 instead. Rivian eventually settled on starting deliveries of the R1T in June of this year, only to push that back to July, and now to September.   - Scaringe also copped to poor communication with reservation holders.   - Rivian was founded in 2009 but kept an extremely low profile until 2018 when it debuted the R1T and R1S at the LA Auto Show. Earlier this summer, we announced that deliveries would begin in July; however, the timing for the first deliveries of the R1T has shifted to September, with the R1S shortly thereafter in the fall. I wanted to be sure you heard this from me directly,"   - "The cascading impacts of the pandemic have had a compounding effect greater than anyone anticipated. Everything from facility construction, to equipment installation, to vehicle component supply (especially semiconductors) has been impacted by the pandemic.   "Beyond these unforeseen challenges, launching three new vehicles while setting up a multi-vehicle manufacturing plant is a complex orchestra of coordinated and interlinked activities where small issues can translate into ramp delays."   - "We have now built hundreds of vehicles as part of our validation process, with many of those spotted out in the wild covered in unique vinyl wraps. AT&T's decision to shut down the 3G network it has operated since 2004 in February 2022.   - vehicles without the MCU2 upgrade will lose certain connectivity features when the 3G network is shut down. The only way these features will continue to operate without the MCU2 upgrade is if the vehicle is connected to Wi-Fi.   - Infotainment Upgrades for owners who drive pre-April 2018 versions of the Model S or Model X are eligible to purchase the MCU2 upgrade as well, but it's available for $2,000 plus tax unless Autopilot Computer 2.0 or 2.5 is installed. It's about half the size and time of a traditional show, but automakers such as Ford Motor, Volkswagen and others are trying to make the most of it. That includes showcasing new electric vehicles. Aside from displaying vehicles inside the McCormick Place Convention Center, automakers are offering test drives and rides in new electric vehicles. That already suggested it would be a relatively affordable vehicle, but we did not expect it to cost less than RMB100,00 – the equivalent of $15,500 at the current exchange rate.   - Dolphin will have two derivatives. The SR (Standard Range) will be able to run 301 km under the NEDC cycle testing. It presents a 30.72 kWh battery pack   - BYD also developed the LR (Long Range) version with a 44.93 kWh battery pack. The sales of the Renault Twingo ZE are also getting very close to its gas counterpart." reports the PushEVs.com blog: "December sales in Europe...Clio: 20,404, ZOE: 16,035. At the moment, Renault seems to be the legacy automaker that is making the best transition to electric cars in Europe, by having good electric alternatives to its most popular ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) cars. Another important reason for success is the fact that electric cars sold by Renault currently have the lowest delivery times in Europe. As for the ZOE, it’s still much more expensive than the Clio in countries without government subsidies to buy electric cars, so it might take a while until it’s ready to completely replace its dirty sibling."   Luca de Meo had said on Renaulution event that they are going to start using LFP chemistry as well. Could be from the CATL European production base in Germany (CATT - Contemporary Amperex Technology Thuringia).   Cobalt free, and cheaper. Assuming 5-days a week, it's about 5,000-7,000 a month and 60,000-84,000 a year." according to InsideEVs: "It would place the Enyaq iV among the top-selling EVs in Europe in 2020, and probably also one of the tops in 2021. If the company works seven days a week, it could be 7,000-10,000 a month or 84,000-120,000 a year. Surprisingly, the range jumped from 203 miles in 2020 to 227 miles of range this year, a gain of over 10%." reports electrek: "Porsche simply did not use the monster 21-inch wheel option in its EPA calculation in which it chooses the worst case scenario to report. Apparently, the 2021 is the exact same car as the 2020 as far as the drivetrain is concerned. The only difference is that the high-drag 21-inch wheels were not reported from/to the EPA. That same source told us that almost no one buys those wheels, as most people stick with the 19s or 20s. Those huge wheels come standard on the Taycan Turbo S so the calculation stands there. The 20-inch wheels apparently make the Taycan over 10% more efficient, which is seemingly a huge gain. In the case of the Taycan 4S, it added 24 miles of range. While the upgrade brings an array of new features while deleting older ones, it also fixes the problem identified by the agency." according to Autoblog: "Owners of a Model S or a Model X built before March 2018 can buy the infotainment upgrade, which the firm calls simply Infotainment Upgrade, via the Tesla App. It adds in-car video streaming, Caraoke and Tesla Arcade, among other functions, and it removes the AM, FM and Sirius XM radios. Significantly, it also includes a faster and more responsive touchscreen that doesn't rely on the faulty hardware identified in the NHTSA's findings. Tesla charged $2,500 for the upgrade until January 2021, when it quietly slashed the price to $1,500. According to BZ-Berlin, the news comes as a surprise to the Brandenburg government, which oversees the location for Giga Berlin." says Torque NEws: "Tesla hasn’t submitted an official application to build a battery cell manufacturing facility to the Brandenburg authority. However, the preliminary permit comes in the way of Germany’s Federal Ministry of Economics. The Ministry’s Chief Peter Altmaier bundled the applications of multiple companies looking into battery cell manufacturing and submitted them to the EU Commission. In the meantime, the ministry has also granted Tesla to start initial work for the plant."   Capacity is 100GWh per year. Well above 35GWh in Nevada and every other cell gigafactory in the world. Power US Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Ownership Study. However, satisfaction with the current ownership experience is a key influencer for whether owners will purchase the same brand of EV again." repotrs Green Car Congress: "The study finds that 95% of EV owners whose overall ownership satisfaction exceeds 900 points say they will purchase another EV. Nearly two-thirds (64%) of these owners say they “definitely will” repurchase the same brand. However, likelihood to repurchase the same brand lessens as satisfaction declines. CROZZ showcar evolves into its series production version, the ID.4.  Volkswagen is forging ahead with its electric mobility strategy by providing a detailed insight into the brand’s first all-electric SUV during a webcast following the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show. The new ID.4 will be launched this year. “We will produce and sell the ID.4 in Europe, China and the U.S..” The ID.4 will initially be launched with rear-wheel drive, while an electric all-wheel drive version will be added to the portfolio at a later date.   DACIA SPRING ELECTRIC UNVEILED What do you call a Renault City K-ZE in China which is being sold elsewhere? The Dacia Spring Electric. If you haven't heard of Dacia they're known for cars like the Duster and Sandero. The 100% all-electric city car focuses on the essentials, combining simplicity, reliability, and accessibility. The production version of the Dacia Spring Electric will be available in the first half of 2021, with a range of more than 124 miles (based on WLTP test procedure). Could this even undercut the VW e-Up, SEAT Mii ELectric and Skoda CityGo iV trio in terms of price?   FIAT 500E DEBUTS WITH 118 HORSEPOWER, 199-MILE RANGE A new era begins for the Fiat 500 with this, the new fully electric version that was designed from the ground up to be an EV. The Fiat 500e won't replace the current model, however. This is a completely new project and will be built in Turin, while the current-generation Fiat 500 with internal combustion power and hybrid powertrains will continue to be manufactured in Poland." says Motor1: "While its proportions look virtually identical to the current model, the new 500e is slightly larger overall. Length and width increase by 2.3 inches (6 centimeters) while the wheelbase is nearly an inch longer (2 cm).  The instrument panel is replaced by a 7-inch digital screen. The steering wheel cut in the lower part and the area between the seats, and the flat floor offers a bit more interior space for passengers.  the new 500e uses a single electric motor with a 42 kWh battery pack to get around town. The motor develops 118 horsepower (88 kilowatts) which Fiat says can send the 500e to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.0 seconds. Flat out, the electric Fiat will reach 93 mph (150 km/h) and if you're judicious with the throttle, it offers a range of 199 miles per Euro-spec WLTP standards. When it's time for a charge, the 500e can reclaim 80 percent of its range in 35 minutes using an 85 kW charger. The new Fiat 500e can be ordered today in Euro markets, with a special launch edition available at a starting price of €37,500. "   https://www.motor1.com/news/402135/new-fiat-500e-debuts   AUTOMOBILI PININFARINA UNVEILS BATTISTA ANNIVERSARIO ELECTRIC HYPERCAR Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled the ultimate expression of the world’s first luxury pure-electric hyper GT, the Battista Anniversario.   The Battista Anniversario celebrates 90 years since Battista ‘Pinin’ Farina created the legendary Pininfarina coachbuilder and design house, and is the most powerful sports car ever to be designed and built in Italy.  Just five will be created, each priced from €2.6 million.  Its carbon fibre monocoque chassis and body provide the strong foundation and backbone of the hyper GT, with its four electric motors generating 1,900 hp and 2,300 Nm torque, apportioned to each wheel by the most advanced torque vectoring system. This delivers a level of performance that is unachievable today in any road-legal sports car with an internal combustion engine. Faster than a current Formula 1 car in the sub-two second 0-100 km/h sprint, the Battista accelerates from 0 to 300 km/h in less than 12 seconds. These levels of performance are delivered alongside a zero-emissions range of over 500 km (310 miles), thanks to the car’s 120 kWh battery pack.     HYUNDAI RAMPS UP KONA ELECTRIC PRODUCTION FOR EUROPE; WILL IT EASE AVAILABILITY IN THE US? That's the question asked by Bengt Halvorson at Green Car Reports: "Hyundai created one of the most appealing affordable long-range electric vehicles yet—its Kona Electric crossover—and then has faced widespread criticism for limiting supply well below demand in the U.S. and Europe.  Starting in March, it will ramp up production of the Kona Electric at its manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic—to about 30,000 EVs in the first year.  Hyundai claims the move will help it become the “biggest provider of zero-emission vehicles in Europe”—with a total of 80,000 units annually available in 2020, more than tripling the current volume ceiling for the model in Europe. With this, Tesla has ensured that older Model S and X will retain, if not improve, their resale values, which are already quite impressive on their own right." reports Simon at Teslarati: "The differences between the features of Tesla’s MCU1, which is equipped with an NVIDIA Tegra-3 chip, and the company’s MCU2, which is fitted with a more powerful x86_64 processor, are subtle. However, later features such as the Tesla Arcade and Tesla Theater were compatible only with the newer, faster units. Once equipped with Tesla’s MCU2, older vehicles will gain full access to the company’s most recent features. This essentially updates MCU1-equipped Model S and X to such a degree that they are almost on par with the company’s newest vehicles. A Tesla Model X 75D with Full Self-Driving and an MCU1, for example, can be upgraded to a vehicle with Tesla Theater and the latest FSD preview visuals for $2,500. It’s a totally free marketplace that simplifies the buying and selling process, and help you learn about EVs along the way too.   TESLA UPDATE LETS DRIVERS STREAM SPOTIFY, NETFLIX, AND YOUTUBE "On Thursday, the latest over-the-air software update, known as Version 10, started rolling out to Tesla owners. The update packs in a lot of fun features, mostly for when the car is parked or charging." reports the tech site Mashable: "Games like Cuphead are coming to the Tesla Arcade and a new "Tesla Theater" application houses all the streaming video options. Caraoke is like it sounds: a karaoke interface with lyrics on the screen so you can belt out your favorite tunes. A Summon update will let you "summon" your car from a parking spot if it's in your line of sight. This is only available for drivers who have the Full Self-Driving version or Enhanced Autopilot package. Other updates will streamline Sentry mode, and the new mysteriously named "Joe mode" lets you lower the volume for parking chimes and other alerts if you have a sleeping baby in the car. The mobile Tesla app that lets you control the climate, unlock the car, and other options was also updated and now you'll be able to remote-control windows on the Model 3 and Model X from the app. "   ZDNet reports: "Along with Netflix, Tesla drivers will be able to view content from YouTube, and Hulu or Hulu + Live TV from the dash console.  Tesla's self-driving capabilities aren't yet advanced enough for drivers to switch off and watch movies, and thankfully the company notes that you can "watch your favorite shows, movies and content right from your car while parked". The company says customers have praised summon it for its convenience after shopping, but notes that "those using Smart Summon must remain responsible for the car and monitor it and its surroundings at all times". The feature is available to drivers when the car is within their line of sight. Owners of the Model 3 Standard Range Plus and Standard Range vehicles will now able to stream Spotify, TuneIn, and Slacker when connected to Wi-Fi."   And The Verge reports: "video recordings captured when Teslas are in their self-protect Sentry Mode are now stored in a separate folder from other camera content. A new “Joe Mode” is meant to avoid waking up sleeping passengers by reducing the volume of certain car chimes and alerts. And the Tesla mobile app can do a few more things and control even more aspects of the car remotely (like the windows)."   SlashGear on China: "Tesla customers in China will soon get iQiyi and Tencent Video access in the car with more services promised in the future."   Tesla says: "“We’re expanding our music and audio platform to enable Spotify Premium account access in all supported markets – one of the most requested features from Tesla owners. This will be in addition to Slacker Radio and TuneIn, which are also available in Tesla vehicles.”"  If you pause the video which Tesla put online today, there's Car Wash Mode. The conversion to electric fuel "fast chargers" came at the same time as the United Nations Climate Action Summit was taking place this week in New York. Depeswar Doley, owner of the station since 1997, said he was already unhappy with the way oil and gasoline companies structure contracts — such as limiting the use of multiple suppliers, including clauses that extend contracts when a certain volume of sales is not met and limiting maintenance support. These business factors already were pushing him to consider other options. A nudge from his daughter was the final step in convincing Doley to make the switch to EV charging. There are more than 20,700 registered EVs in Maryland, and the area also has an electric taxi service in need of more chargers for their business. And man does it sound freakin’ cool." says Jalopnik: The Veloster N has a much higher pitch to its powertrain than fellow EV series Formula E. The company is turning its Italian HQ into an electric car centre of excellence, it says, confirming that all future Masers will be made in Italy." writes Tim Pollard for Car Magazine: "Maserati revealed that every new model in the pipeline will be either hybrid or full battery electric, and vowed that the switch from oil to volts wouldn't dent its commitment to 'innovation and the high performance embedded in the brand’s DNA.' It is part of Chargefox’s broader goal to have more than 100 ultra-rapid charging sites in the country. Chargefox already has 5 ultra-rapid stations open in, with 17 more in the works. All 22 will connect Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, with additional sites in Western Australia and Tasmania."   WATCH THE 258MPH RIMAC C_TWO CRASH FIVE TIMES "WARNING: the following video contains footage that some viewers may find distressing. "   WHAT’S IN AND OUT OF TESLA V10 DETAILS "On viewing the now widely published partial release notes, it appears that only information about gaming, streaming and other various improvements including the ability to delete old Sentry videos and turn down the volume of vehicle alerts (a valuable addition for parents with sleeping children in the car). But notes on higher level features, such as Smart Summon, viewing Sentry videos and improved intersection recognition, that were confirmed for the V10 release by CEO and founder Elon Musk in July, are absent from the leaked notes." reports Driven website.   Tesla Theater   Tesla Theater lets you watch movies and videos when your car is in PARK and connected to WiFi. To launch the Tesla Theater, tap the new ‘Entertainment’ Icon in the Application Launcher and select the Theater tab.   Caraoke   Sing karaoke to your favorite songs and artists in your car. You can select ‘Caraoke’ from the Media menu. Tap the microphone icon to adjust whether the vocal track plays while you sing along.   Cuphead (Tesla Edition)   Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game inspired by cartoons of the 1930s and heavily focused on boss battles. For the Tesla Edition of Cuphead, enjoy the game’s full first Isle as you play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or in local co-op). Traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to The Devil!   Feeling Lucky or Hungry   Feeling lucky or feeling hungry? Go on a surprise adventure to a nearby attraction by tapping Navigate > Lucky or get directions to a local restaurant chosen by your Tesla by tapping Navigate > Hungry. We have also updated the place popup to include easy access to a website associated with the location if one exists.   Joe Mode   Enabling Joe Mode reduces the volume of your Tesla’s chimes. The quieter chimes continue to alert the driver effectively and minimize disruption to passengers (e.g. Joe’s kids). To enable Joe Mode, tap Controls > Safety & Security > Joe Mode.   Improved Driving Visualisation   The driving visualization has been improved to display additional types of objects and lane lines around your car in more environments.   Additionally, you can drag and pinch the driving visualization to temporarily adjust view angles and zoom. After a short of inactivity, the visualization will return back to the default position.   Automatic Lane Change Visualisation   The automatic Lane Change visualization has been improved to highlight where in the adjacent lane your car is planning to move to. When Automatic Lane Change is initiated, the adjacent lane is highlighted blue and the target car destination is outlined in white.   Maps Improvement   We have improved maps to make it easier to find and navigate to where you want to go. When searching for a destination, the autocomplete search now includes the distance to each suggested place. Also, you can now directly tap the labels on the map to quickly view the associated place details and navigate to that destination.   Sentry Mode Improvement   Sentry Model video clips are now saved in a separate folder on your USB drive to make them easier to review and manage. Also, the older Sentry model video clips will now be automatically deleted if there is not enough space on the USB drive and Sentry Mode clips are using more than 5 Gigabytes of space.   Software Update Improvement   The software update experience now has more style and grace. You will now know which software update version is being downloaded and to be installed. Also, once the software update has been initiated, you can view the install progress when the touchscreen is on.   App Launcher   The application Launcher has been reordered to make it easier to launch the Phone App. We have also replaced the Tesla Arcade with Tesla Entertainment. With a cruising range of 300 km, the new taxis can change its batteries for fully-charged new ones within three minutes at battery swap stations, according to BJEV. BJEV has already built 100 battery swap stations in Beijing, and it will set up over 190 power charging and battery swap stations in the city next year, said Zhang Xiyong, general manager of Beijing Automotive Group Co, the parent company of BJEV. In research clinics, I sat down with many electric vehicle owners in diverse places like California, China and Germany. You learn one thing very quickly: Among most owners, all their charging is done from the convenience of their home. Many have never visited a public charging station at all. Similarly, surveys of U.S. battery electric vehicle owners show that 80 percent of charging occurs at home, followed by charging at work. For owners of gas or hybrid vehicles, we know it’s hard to break the habit of going to a gas station once or twice a week — most of us have been doing it without hesitation for decades. The outlet received word of the forthcoming vehicle from Mazda spokesperson Yoshikazu Nagai, which was confirmed to Motor1.com by a spokesperson from Mazda USA." says Motor1.com: "The vehicle is currently in a development stage, and its underpinnings are covered by a modified Mazda CX-30 body wearing camouflage that bears the words “Mazda e-TPV”. Nevertheless, the vehicle debuting in Tokyo is a new model and will have no relation to the CX-30. The EV will reportedly rely on a 141-horsepower electric motor for motivation. A relatively small 35.5-kilowatt-hour battery pack will supply power to the motor. To combat the battery pack's limited range, Mazda will also offer the electric vehicle with a range extender option to quell the needs of North American buyers, per Automotive News. Tesla is making a new game available to its vehicle owners, with a roll-out starting today. The company started pushing out a new ‘Arcade' app for its in-car infotainment system back in June at the annual E3 gaming conference, and now it's adding the most thrilling game around to the mix: Chess. This isn't the first time games have been on Tesla's infotainment screens; its had them available as ‘Easter eggs,' or hidden software features.

Once that was done, the team moved on to frame modifications and used reciprocating saws and grinders to remove the Tesla's roof beams. The proposed legislation was among 180 measures in the government's Climate Action Plan, published on Monday. The hope is that by the time the petrol and diesel vehicle ban is introduced in 2030 there will be 950,000 electric vehicles on Irish roads. The government is set to invest in a "nationwide" charging network to power the new vehicles. The company will likely use the same turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 in the Bentayga that's also rumored to power the Continental GT hybrid. Customers fearful a hybrid would neuter the brand need not worry. In the Bentayga, the gasoline-electric powertrain makes 443 horsepower (330 kilowatts) and 516 pound-feet (700 Newton-meters) of torque, propelling the hefty SUV to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 5.5 seconds up to a top speed of 158 mph (254 kph). It's the automaker's second mass-production model, following the larger ES8, but the company also has the EP9 electric hypercar in its portfolio, which is impressive in its own right." writes CNET: "With five seats onboard, the ES6 is smaller and shorter than the ES8, but its wheelbase is the same. Buyers have a choice of two powertrains: A pair of electric motors putting out 430 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, or a beefier pair that puts out 536 hp and 535 lb-ft. In place of a fuel tank and engine, you'll find a single electric motor generating 136 horsepower (101 kilowatts) and 192 pound-feet (260 Newton-meters) of instant torque. It's driven by a rather modest 50 kWh battery, which Peugeot says is good for a range of approximately 193 miles (312 kilometers).
