Connie Girl, Eric De La Cruz and Shawn Dickerson join host Tovah Feinberg for a live panel discussion recorded at Libera in NYC on March 13, 2025. These esteemed and legendary luminaires- each in their own right, shed light through their lenses of experiences and wisdom to guide, inspire- and perhaps help steady worries during these turbulent times. Apologies for the delay, Chelsea has had yet another rough week, but we are back to discuss Hollywood's biggest night and all of the best Karla Sofía Gascón jokes. Topics discussed include the deeply healing The Color Purple reunion, Anora's shocking sweep, Demi Moore's life-imitating-art moment, the sensational Wizard of Oz tribute, David Lynch erasure, and Adrian Brody's deeply annoying acceptance speech. P.S. this episode was recorded before we knew the deeply f**ked up and unbelievably tragic details of Gene Hackman's death. R.I.P. King. Let's watch The Birdcage in his honor

My guest this week is Swedish artist Ebba Palmstierna, also known as Ebba Pax. Ebba draws black and white beasts from other planes in a signature style that some find whimsical and others terrifiying, yet there's a childlike quality that threads through them all. Recently, Ebba was asked to transform her small creatures into giant wall art in Romainville. What was it like to make her small beasts big, and do children react to them in the same way adults do? Chef Eric Fraudeau knew he loved cooking at an early age, thanks to his grandmother and her farm. After traveling the world, cooking in places like Alcapulco, Cabo San Lucas, Montréal, and New York, and working in the kitchens of Alain Ducasse and Joel Robuchon, Eric returned to Paris and opened his own English language cooking school. This year, Cook'n with Class celebrates its 17th year. Eric believes that to truly understand a culture, you need to know its food. French pianist Aurélien Pontier made his debut on the Opéra Garnier stage when he was only nine years old. As a teenager, he traveled Europe, winning 1st prizes and unanimous jury prizes. Now, Aurélien plays as a soloist, in chamber orchestras, and with full orchestras. His album “Vienna: Joyful Apocalypse” was released this year, and Classica Magazine called it ”brilliant, agile and refined, (his) playing exalts the poetry of the pieces with fragile charm.”Did you know that professional pianists can tell where other pianists are from, just by listening to them play? When my friend told me she wanted to get a tattoo of Henry James on her arm, I'll admit I was skeptical, but this week's guest, Phu Phi Nguyen, did a spectacular job. Phu Phi doesn't usually tattoo portraits at all, saving them for her paintings and murals. Her usual tattoo style is incredibly fine-lined, detailed, and beautiful. True works of art, often reserved for flowers and plants. Now co-owner of her own Parisian tattoo shop, Monkeys Factory, Phu Phi also specializes in “therapeutic tattoos” for breast cancer survivors with mastectomy scars, burn victims, and other survivors. What is it that draws Phu Phi to fine-line tattooing and bold, graphic murals? Welcome back, Lookers! In this bite-sized edition of Look Behind The Look, we dive into the iconic 90s film, The Bodyguard, starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner. From Whitney's unforgettable performance of "I Will Always Love You" to the behind-the-scenes magic, this episode is packed with nostalgia and fascinating insights.I had the honor of speaking with Academy Award-winning makeup artist Valli O'Reilly, who shared her journey of becoming Whitney's makeup artist for the film. Valli reveals the products she used, the makeup tests they performed, and even shares some treasured items from the set that she's kept for over 30 years.Discover the story behind Whitney's "glamorously natural" look, the iconic red lipstick, and the makeup techniques that brought her character, Rachel Maron, to life. Icone de mode? Exactement. This week, my guest is hand weaver and textile designer Mathieu Le Traon. Mathieu discovered hand weaving only a few years ago, but he quickly fell in love with it, and decided to quit his prestigious career to pursue his artistry full-time. Mathieu's work is extraordinary, not only because it's beautiful, which it unequivocably is, but because he uses it as a means of storytelling, embedding codes, music, language and literature into his work. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, hand woven from the animal fibers that he loves, which add another important, thoughtful element to his work. Mathieu's work is as creative as his mind, extending from scarves to vests to wall art, furniture, eyeglasses, and beyond. https://atelierletraon.comhttps://www.instagram.com/atelier.le.traon/Join us on Patreon: patreon.com/parisundergroundradio Find Us OnlineWebsite: https://parisundergroundradio.com/cityofmusesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradioInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/ CreditsHost and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. https://parisundergroundradio.com/jenniferfoxgeraghty@jennyphoria; Website: http://jennyphoria.comMusic CreditsBeyond Inspiration juqboxmusic License: 1F36635C-8CE84C39-98B2531B-FEAA8727 About UsWho will be the world's next Salvador Dali, Thierry Mugler, or Josephine Baker, launching a new wave of the avant-garde?
How would you describe the smell of Earth (and Earthlings) to someone who's never been? Today I chat with olfactive artist Eva Petrič, whose line of fragrances are meant to do just that. Each scent bottles a different fragrant aspect of life on Earth and the humans who inhabit it. And sure, we [Earthlings] can buy them at Bergdorf's, but these fragrances are not meant solely for our consumption; they're messages in a bottle meant for whoever discovers them...in whichever galaxy that may be. In fact, Eva's fragrance Message from Earth was quite literally... SENT TO OUTERSPACE. FRAGS MENTIONED: Caswell Massey Orchid, La Perla Once Upon a Garden, Headspace Absinthe, Thierry Mugler, DBE: Angel Hound, Message From Earth, Empathy, Curiosity, Moon H20 Follow Eva: @eva_petric_angel_hound Shop DBE: Bergdorfgoodman.com Read more: dbe528.com ~Special thanks to our sponsor BDK Parfums!~ Get 10% off BDK Parfums at luckyscent.com (code: 10pr)
