My guest this week is luxury fashion designer Ricardo Bernardino. I'm speaking to Ricardo mere weeks before his debut at Paris Fashion Week, where he will unveil his new “Sea to Silk Collection.” This bright and bold luxury collection features the artwork of Michel Deville, who was inspired by the coral reefs of the Indian Ocean. Michel has been painting for 70 years, but has refused to sell any of his paintings because he considers them all as his children. So, how did one chance jogging encounter transform Michel's art into a collection by first-time designer Ricardo? Molly Wilkinson has always loved baking. One day, years into her career in a digital marketing agency, she decided to fly to France and enroll in Le Cordon Bleu. Once she was trained as a pastry chef, there was no stopping her. Now, Molly lives in Versailles and works full-time as a pastry teacher. She gives classes online and in person and her desserts are delicious, adorable, and designed to make French baking accessible. She published a cookbook called “French Pastry Made Simple” in 2021 and is herself the subject of this year's children's book “Let Them Eat Cake.” https://www.mollyjwilk.com/https://www.facebook.com/MollyJWilkhttps://www.instagram.com/mollyjwilk/https://www.pinterest.fr/mollywilk/https://www.tiktok.com/@mollyjwilk/ Join us on Patreon: patreon.com/parisundergroundradio Find Us OnlineWebsite: https://parisundergroundradio.com/cityofmusesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradioInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/ CreditsHost and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. https://parisundergroundradio.com/jenniferfoxgeraghty @jennyphoria; Website: http://jennyphoria.comMusic CreditsBeyond Inspiration juqboxmusic License: 1F36635C-8CE84C39-98B2531B-FEAA8727 About UsWho will be the world's next Salvador Dali, Thierry Mugler, or Josephine Baker, launching a new wave of the avant-garde? This week, my guest is Victor Schegin, a native Parisian whose first foray into the art world was as a 15-year-old street artist. As a painter, Victor explores vulnerability through his portraiture, often blending emotive, introspective models with bright, bold colors and abstract elements. Victor is generous with his time and talent, offering tips and tricks to his followers online. He is also an art teacher and has created a Facebook group of artists helping and supporting other artists numbering over 120,000. In our conversation, Victor shares how he fell in love with painting and what it took to finally get him to pursue it full-time. He tackles some of the biggest ideas in the art world today: where is the line between street art and vandalism, what does it take to be great, and how does that corrolate to a career where you've “made it.” https://www.instagram.com/seehundart/?hl=enhttps://seehundart.com/ https://twitter.com/seehundart Join us on Patreon: patreon.com/parisundergroundradio Find Us OnlineWebsite: https://parisundergroundradio.com/cityofmusesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradioInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/ CreditsHost and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. https://parisundergroundradio.com/jenniferfoxgeraghty @jennyphoria; Website: http://jennyphoria.comMusic CreditsBeyond Inspiration juqboxmusic License: 1F36635C-8CE84C39-98B2531B-FEAA8727 About UsWho will be the world's next Salvador Dali, Thierry Mugler, or Josephine Baker, launching a new wave of the avant-garde? My guest this week is Agnès Sevestre, a Master Craftsman in Fine Crafts Engraving and the Founder of A.S. Bronze d'art. Agnés is one of only around 150 people in all of France qualified in this highly-specialized art form. She works with metals like brass, copper and bronze to apply ornamentation techniques to jewelry, furniture, light fixtures, silverware and more. Those beautiful handmade butterflies you find crafted around an ornate perfume bottle? That's the kind of work she does. Agnès's most recent project, Archipels, breaks her free from the tiny, detailed work she's used to as she creates the largest pieces she's ever made. In our conversation, Agnès shares how she discovered metal crafting, engraving and chiseling, what it felt like to fall in love with them, and the personal nature behind her work. https://www.agnessevestre.com/https://www.instagram.com/agnes_sevestre/https://www.facebook.com/as.bronzedarthttps://www.linkedin.com/in/agnes-sevestre/?originalSubdomain=fr https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCD1_dl2TLhw-NNQnsfZM4-wJoin us on Patreon: patreon.com/parisundergroundradio Find Us OnlineWebsite: https://parisundergroundradio.com/cityofmusesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradioInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/ CreditsHost and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. https://parisundergroundradio.com/jenniferfoxgeraghty @jennyphoria; Website: http://jennyphoria.comMusic CreditsBeyond Inspiration juqboxmusic License: 1F36635C-8CE84C39-98B2531B-FEAA8727 About UsWho will be the world's next Salvador Dali, Thierry Mugler, or Josephine Baker, launching a new wave of the avant-garde? This week, my guest is hand weaver and textile designer Mathieu Le Traon. Mathieu discovered hand weaving only a few years ago, but he quickly fell in love with it, and decided to quit his prestigious career to pursue his artistry full-time. Mathieu's work is extraordinary, not only because it's beautiful, which it unequivocably is, but because he uses it as a means of storytelling, embedding codes, music, language and literature into his work. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, hand woven from the animal fibers that he loves, which add another important, thoughtful element to his work. Mathieu's work is as creative as his mind, extending from scarves to vests to wall art, furniture, eyeglasses, and beyond. https://atelierletraon.comhttps://www.instagram.com/atelier.le.traon/Join us on Patreon: patreon.com/parisundergroundradio Find Us OnlineWebsite: https://parisundergroundradio.com/cityofmusesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradioInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/ CreditsHost and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. https://parisundergroundradio.com/jenniferfoxgeraghty@jennyphoria; Website: http://jennyphoria.comMusic CreditsBeyond Inspiration juqboxmusic License: 1F36635C-8CE84C39-98B2531B-FEAA8727 About UsWho will be the world's next Salvador Dali, Thierry Mugler, or Josephine Baker, launching a new wave of the avant-garde? (Don't worry, we talk about it!) Since then, she's performed in Paris's most well-known theatres in productions like 42nd Street, Singin' in the Rain, The Wizard of Oz, and The Producers. She's a part of an improvisation musical theatre troupe, where she's performed in French and in English. She's also performed in the French versions of Sing-Off and France's Got Talent. This week, I had the pleasure of speaking with Melanie Furtado. Melanie is a Canadian sculptor and art educator who won this year's prestigious Médaille Bronze at the Salon des Artistes Français. She first grabbed my attention with her fantastic “Women: States of Being” series, in which she showcases naked women of diverse ages, races, and body types in states of quiet contemplation. She creates her sculptures by adding pieces, little by little, one at a time, leaving the textures of these pieces of clay and her fingerprints as part of the final piece of art. While the focus may start on the body, its the depth of emotion she captures in the faces that really draws you in.In our conversation, Melanie shares what draws her to scultpure and the human form, which body part is her favorite to sculpt, how the best things about Paris are also the worst, and so much more.https://www.melaniefurtado.comhttps://www.instagram.com/melanie.furtado/Join us on Patreon: patreon.com/parisundergroundradio Find Us OnlineWebsite: https://parisundergroundradio.com/cityofmusesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradioInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/ CreditsHost and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. https://parisundergroundradio.com/jenniferfoxgeraghty @jennyphoria; Website: http://jennyphoria.comMusic CreditsBeyond Inspirationjuqboxmusic License: 1F36635C-8CE84C39-98B2531B-FEAA8727 About UsWho will be the world's next Salvador Dali, Thierry Mugler, or Josephine Baker, launching a new wave of the avant-garde? Yashua is an American who finds himself in Paris for his solo exhibit, “Building Our Being,” currently at the Zidoun-Bossuyt Gallery (through November 4th.) Yashua's gorgeous, largescale pieces are created through a combination of his own woodblock printing techniques and collage, and often feature portraits of people he loves. In our conversation, Yashua shares the thoughtfulness he brings to his creation process, what he thinks of the space between the art and the audience, how his pieces reflect his ideas on famliy, identity, and the African-American experience, and so much more. https://www.instagram.com/yashuared/https://zidoun-bossuyt.com/exhibitions/yashua-klos-building-our-being/ Join us on Patreon: patreon.com/parisundergroundradio Find Us OnlineWebsite: https://parisundergroundradio.com/cityofmusesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradioInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/ CreditsHost and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. https://parisundergroundradio.com/jenniferfoxgeraghty @jennyphoria; Website: http://jennyphoria.comMusic CreditsBeyond InspirationjuqboxmusicLicense: 1F36635C-8CE84C39-98B2531B-FEAA8727 About UsWho will be the world's next Salvador Dali, Thierry Mugler, or Josephine Baker, launching a new wave of the avant-garde? Orlando Louis calls himself an entertainer but, as a talented singer, dancer, model and actor, I'm just not sure that word is big enough. Orlando originated the roles of Scar and Mufasa in Paris's Broadway version of The Lion King,” roles he still currently performs in Disneyland Paris. He created "The Brown Sugar Show," celebrating African-American music worldwide, as well as the soul funk musical "Blax: The Musical." Orlando has performed all over the world, including in Jean Paul Gaultier's Haute Couture tribute to Amy Winehouse, and with Hans Zimmer and Others. He has a new album on the way, titled "Black Narcissus,” and when I first met him, he was also performing drag all over Paris. https://www.instagram.com/orlandolouis_official_/ Whatever It Is U Got: https://youtu.be/bPQMmzEQCus http://itunes.apple.com/album/id1668662629?ls=1&app=itunes https://youtu.be/sZmpkESfEEo Etta James - (You Can) Leave Your Hat On: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSmdT1Si4bo Join us on Patreon: patreon.com/parisundergroundradio Find Us OnlineWebsite: https://parisundergroundradio.com/cityofmusesFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/parisundergroundradioInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/parisundergroundradio/ CreditsHost and Producer: Jennifer Geraghty. https://parisundergroundradio.com/jenniferfoxgeraghty @jennyphoria; Website: http://jennyphoria.comMusic CreditsNo Copyright Music by OlexandrMusic Download Free Music: http://bit.ly/3ikZxuF Soundcloud: https://bit.ly/3u4ehyg YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/olexandrmusic Official: https://www.olexandrignatov.com About UsWho will be the world's next Salvador Dali, Thierry Mugler, or Josephine Baker, launching a new wave of the avant-garde? Christianna Geralyn About Christianna Painting is a love of mine that was passed down from my grandmother Evelyn, an award winning watercoloristI remember sitting at the table with her while she taught us grandkids how to paint. The smells, the textures, and the awe of watching color turn to life in front of you. Painting through the art of synesthesia is painting with not just my creative abilities, but my with my entire being. Creating in this medium quickly became a passion of mine when I began to hear the testimonies of recipients at the receiving of their own personal artwork. There's something about trusting another individual to listen to their senses; spirit, and allow that voice to guide them into a piece of art unique to only you. It would be my privilege to paint for you, your family, friends. Thank you for being here. x ChristiannaMusic by BeAware Cadre Scott IG @CadreScott
