The Defense Department is becoming more reliant on commercial cloud computing. That means it needs more than one option. The relatively tiny Defense Innovation Unit recently settled on Google Cloud for a production contract. The company's security framework around the cloud mirrors that of DISA's Cloud Access Point. Federal News Network's Scott Maucione talked about the contract with DIU cyber portfolio manager Richard Simon.

It’s hard to overstate the significance of the US government’s lawsuit targeting Google over allegations that its agreements with Apple and Android phonemakers to make the search engine the default on their devices has made it too difficult for search rivals to compete. The court action is the most significant antitrust case to affect Big Tech since the 1998 suit against Microsoft and this week’s news of the enforcement action has reverberated around the world. And while the outcome of the Department of Justice lawsuit is hard to predict, there are those who would argue that by avoiding antitrust action of this kind in the US until now, Google has already won.

She is also the founder of (http://www.burnedinteacher.com) and creator of Burned-In EdTech Consulting and Teacher Coaching where she has joint her two loves in her career: her love of edtech and innovation in the classroom with her obsession for helping educators who are struggling to find their own passions within the education profession. As a former public elementary school teacher, she promotes the use of technology as a tool for transformation in the classroom, and is obsessed with helping teachers take themselves from burned-out to BURNED-IN! She specializes in technology integration in the classroom and in supporting educators who are struggling to decide what their next best step in on their education journey.
