The first preseason games are in the books, and our fantasy football experts break down the biggest takeaways heading into another important weekend of NFL action. Jeremiyah Love made his NFL debut — so where should you be drafting the Cardinals rookie after getting our first look at him? De'Zhaun Stribling popped for the 49ers putting himself on the fantasy radar as a potential playmaker. Fernando Mendoza looked impressive in his preseason debut, while Cam Ward and the Titans offense struggled. What does that mean for Ward, and could Tennessee's struggles impact the fantasy outlook for Carnell Tate? We also look ahead to this weekend, including Malik Willis making his Dolphins debut, whether the Panthers will hold out Jonathon Brooks with Chuba Hubbard dealing with an injury, and plenty more fantasy football storylines to watch as preseason rolls on.

On today's podcast conversation, Chris Cillizza and Matt discuss:— Massive polling misses in Michigan and Wisconsin. One reason this happened?: Under-sampling middle-aged Black voters and rural Democrats— Clear evidence that DSA and DSA-aligned candidates are underperforming with Black voters — the same coalition that blocked Bernie Sanders— Why 2026 is likely a referendum on Trump and the economy, but 2028 could see the “socialism” label stick and drive voters back to Republicans— Trump's recent endorsement flops (Darlene Graham runoff, Mike Lindell, Tennessee) are signs his iron grip on the GOP is loosening (or are they???)— Jeff Flake's arc from pure conservative to endorsing a Democrat Jon Ossoff, and the death of the anti-Trump lane in GOP primaries— Hunter Biden's Tucker Carlson interview, fathers-and-sons dynamics, and the complicated human side of political families— Trump's secret catering-truck plane switch amid Iran threat concerns: security necessity vs. bad optics and press deception— Speculation on the next White House press secretary (Kari Lake, Spencer Pratt, or Scott Jennings?)— And MUCH more!Subscribe to Matt Lewis on Substack: https://mattklewis.substack.com/Support Matt Lewis at Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/mattlewisFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/MattLewisDCTwitter: https://twitter.com/mattklewisInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/mattlewisreels/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVhSMpjOzydlnxm5TDcYn0A– Who is Matt Lewis? –Matt K. In this episode of The Construction Corner podcast, Dillon shares a broad business update and discusses his decision to remove himself from social media in February. He explains how tuning out cultural noise has improved his focus and operational mindset by keeping his attention on factors he can control.Turning to VDS, he announces a new website, infrastructure upgrades, and team growth. He notes the importance of managing client pivots and project scope changes without taking them personally.Business development is accelerating, evidenced by signing more NDAs in two weeks than in the last six years. This growth is driven by large, confidential data center projects, where electrical engineering now commands 30–35% of total project value, reordering traditional construction dynamics. Finally, Dillon highlights VDS's geographic expansion across the Pacific Northwest and multiple states—including Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, and California—alongside upcoming fall recruiting events at three to four universities.

Thxrsday is an emerging artist whose music turns overthinking, vulnerability, and real-life experiences into deeply personal storytelling. Born in Colorado and connected to Tennessee, his journey has helped shape an evolving sound influenced by artists like Kendrick Lamar, Juice WRLD, XXXTentacion, and The Weeknd—the latter even inspiring his artist name through the project Thursday. His new project, O V R T H I N K, captures the thoughts and emotions that can become difficult to express anywhere outside of music, with each song telling its own individual story. Rather than arranging the album chronologically, Thxrsday focused on how the records connected sonically, creating a listening experience built around feeling and atmosphere. The title track, “O V R T H I N K,” comes to life over a rock-inspired production from youngtaylor_, while the project also hints at Thxrsday's desire to continue experimenting beyond traditional genre boundaries, including exploring EDM. In this interview, he opens up about using music as therapy, the challenges of being vulnerable, the creative decisions behind O V R T H I N K, and how far he's willing to push his artistry in the next chapter.

Abby Miranda grew up as the oldest girl in a family of sevenkids in Dixon, Tennessee, the daughter of a pastor who taught her that faith is a relationship, not a religion. She became a first grade teacher, then walked away from the classroom to spend five months as a missionary in a remote village in Liberia, Africa, with no grocery store, no hospital, and nodistractions, just herself, her husband, and God.In this episode of The Relentless Pursuit Podcast, Abby sitsdown with host Joe Adams for a wide-ranging conversation: growing up in a homeschooling household, the anxiety and loss that led her into that Liberian village, what it felt like to detox from a hyperconnected life, and how that stillness now shapes her personal training business, her marriage, and how she thinks about becoming a mother. They talk about recognizing burnout before it becomes depression, the difference between people pleasing and genuine service, why she stopped needing her husband to make her okay, and how she hears God in the small, practical decisions of an ordinary week. This is a conversation about faith, family, identity, andthe slow work of figuring out who you are underneath everything you do. If you have ever felt like you were pouring from an empty cup, this one is for you.Stick around for the rapid fire round and Abby's answer tothe show's closing question: what is your relentless pursuit.Follow Abby Miranda: Instagram @AbbyLee and @AbbyLeeFit 00:00 Quiet With God01:00 Podcast Welcome02:09 Meet Abby Miranda03:40 Life Today And Work08:52 Burnout Warning Signs12:10 Nature And Boredom15:02 Serving Others Well19:46 Growing Up In Dixon23:19 Faith Beyond Legalism29:06 People Pleasing Patterns37:52 From Teaching To Training39:06 Early Expectations40:06 Unlearning Expectations41:12 Hope Without Control43:08 Why Teaching Chose Her48:05 Highs and Hard Truths54:30 Called to Liberia01:00:11 Life in the Jungle01:01:59 Training Teachers Abroad01:03:56 Africa Healed Anxiety01:08:12 Keeping Priorities Straight01:12:09 Faith Paths Collide01:18:37 Mentors and Discernment01:21:41 Faith And Discernment01:22:47 Talking Across Beliefs01:25:10 Who Youre Becoming01:28:05 Desire For Motherhood01:37:56 Burnout Realizations01:44:19 Practical Healing Boundaries01:49:58 Redefining Success01:55:11 Stopping Validation Chasing01:58:31 Perspective Through Stories01:59:28 Perspective Builders02:01:04 Podcasting for Empathy02:03:02 Traffic Crash Wake-Up02:04:55 Volunteering and Gratitude02:07:25 Chasing Status to Real Friends02:09:25 Meaningful Conversations Only02:13:50 Men and Vulnerability02:16:10 Holding Space Not Fixing02:22:21 Healing in Marriage02:25:15 Current Struggles and Growth02:29:35 Hearing God Daily02:34:57 Rapid Fire and Farewell #RelentlessPursuitPodcast #AbbyMiranda #BurnoutRecovery #ChristianPodcast #MissionaryLife #FaithJourney #TeacherBurnout #PersonalTrainer #Boundaries #SelfWorth #NashvillePodcast #RealConversations #HumanStory #StillnessAndFaith

Ashley is a 1.5 year carnivore and health and fitness enthusiast. Ashley has always taken care as to what she puts in my body and how she treated it, loved being outdoors, and thought she was doing everything right until at 32, almost overnight it seemed, she developed symptoms and had no idea what they could mean. They became more and more severe and steady and came with months of waiting for and scheduling and attending doctor appts, dermatology appts, on and off rounds of prednisone and more months of waiting while deep diving into so much research on everything she possibly could. Finally, Ashley got the referral she wanted to see an allergist, who finally, just after talking to her and listening to her symptoms, scheduled more in depth testing and found 2 autoimmune diseases. But even he suggested medication. Ashley couldn't agree to it. Five months of heavy cellular detoxing and ancestral diet variations led Ashley to carnivore and it was her only option besides thinking her problem was a serious mold issue in her apartment. Carnivore did it. It gave Ashley her life back. After just 4 days, she felt so much better mentally and emotionally. By the time she got to day 20, Ashley couldn't believe she used to think she felt good. By day 30, she couldn't imagine ever going back. Ken Carman openly admits he's straddling the fence on the Browns' quarterback competition, caught between wanting long-term stability and sympathizing with keeping a likable fourth quarterback like Tyler Huntley Green around, while Anthony Lima counters that roster spots need to go to players who can actually help win games. The two dig into Chris Mueller's point that raw stats like completions and interceptions don't capture context, using Shedeur Sanders' touchdown throw to Harold Fannin and his performance in the Tennessee loss as examples of how emotion and results can distort honest evaluation. Ken concedes he was too easy on Sanders in the moment because he was celebrating in the stadium with beer in hand, and both agree Todd Monken deserves a fair shake this year since last year's QB competition was legitimately mishandled while this year's hasn't been. They close by noting Monken's first show as head coach airs tonight and teasing a Guardians segment built around the movie First Blood.

Many people dream of hunting in the Alaska wilderness, and for most, it is the adventure of a lifetime. However, a few unlucky hunters never return from their adventure. As I've said many times, Alaska is big, rugged, and beautiful but also dangerous, from raging rivers to high seas to rugged mountains and ice fields marred by deep crevasses. Moose, bears, and wolves all present risks, and the extreme cold in the winter can cause frostbite or hypothermia in a matter of minutes. Tennessee football is entering the 2026 season with enormous expectations, but is this finally the year the Volunteers take the next step under Josh Heupel? On this episode of the A to Z Sports Big Orange Podcast, Charlie Burris and Zach Ragan ask three huge questions about Tennessee football heading into the season. Is this the year Josh Heupel makes the correct quarterback decision the first time? Is this the year new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles gets his defense playing at a high level immediately? And perhaps most importantly, is this the year Tennessee finally avoids the dreaded "Heupel loss" against a team the Vols should beat? The conversation begins with the latest Tennessee fall camp news. Ty Redmond returned to practice after missing time with an illness, although he was working on the side, while Ethan Davis remained out with an undisclosed injury. The guys also discuss comments from Tennessee offensive line coach Glen Elarbee, who was remarkably candid about the performance of his offensive line during the 2025 season. Elarbee acknowledged that his group struggled when it mattered most, creating significant expectations for a talented 2026 offensive line featuring players such as David Sanders. Charlie and Zach then turn their attention to Tennessee's biggest offseason question: the quarterback competition between Faizon Brandon and George MacIntyre. Is this finally the year Josh Heupel gets his quarterback decision right on the first attempt? The hosts revisit Heupel's decision to start Joe Milton over Hendon Hooker in 2021 and discuss why the quarterback position can be so difficult to evaluate before the lights come on. With Tennessee's first scrimmage approaching, the quarterback battle is entering an important stage, and the second scrimmage could help determine when the Vols ultimately settle on a starter. The podcast also examines Jim Knowles' first season as Tennessee's defensive coordinator. Knowles has said his defense is progressing faster than it did at previous stops because he was able to bring coaches and players familiar with his system to Knoxville. Charlie and Zach discuss whether that continuity, combined with Tennessee's work under new strength and conditioning coach Derek Owings, could allow the Vols defense to make a dramatic improvement from last season. Finally, the guys tackle one of the most important questions for Tennessee's 2026 season: Can Josh Heupel avoid another "Heupel loss"? The hosts identify several games where Tennessee could potentially stumble, including Georgia Tech, Auburn, Arkansas, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. With a young quarterback potentially making his first SEC road starts, Tennessee could be more vulnerable to an upset than in previous seasons. The discussion also explores the increasing parity in college football. With NIL, the transfer portal and roster movement creating more competitive balance across the SEC, Charlie and Zach argue that there are fewer truly "unbeatable" games than ever before. Even highly talented teams can lose to unexpected opponents, making Tennessee's ability to avoid bad losses especially important if the Vols want to compete for the SEC Championship and College Football Playoff. With the first Tennessee football scrimmage coming up Saturday, the answers to these questions are about to become much clearer. Is this finally the year for Tennessee? Watch the latest Big Orange Podcast featuring Charlie Burris and Zach Ragan for the latest Tennessee Volunteers football news, fall camp analysis, quarterback battle updates, Jim Knowles' defense, Josh Heupel analysis, SEC football discussion and everything surrounding the Vols heading into the 2026 season. Episode OverviewOn this Pennsylvania Smallmouth Report from The Articulate Fly fly fishing podcast, host Marvin Cash checks in with Captain Brian Shumaker of Susquehanna River Guides for a mid-August conditions update on the Susquehanna River system in Central Pennsylvania. After a heavy rain event pushed the river up, Shumaker reports flows are now falling and clarity is returning, with roughly two feet of visibility on the edges and more color still out in the main current. That in-between water dictates a two-tier approach: anglers can still pound the banks with poppers where visibility holds, but need to switch to bigger, darker streamers with more flash as they move off the bank into stained water. Shumaker breaks down how he is fishing Half and Half and Clouser Minnow patterns in size two and one, in chartreuse-yellow with gold flash, black-and-olive and olive-and-orange combinations, all still fished on an intermediate line. He also covers how the return of some color has let him tighten up casting distances compared to the ultra-clear, low-water conditions from before the rain, when 40-foot+ casts were often required to avoid spooking fish. Looking ahead, Shumaker outlines open guide dates in late September and October before he heads to Texas for redfish in November.Key TakeawaysHow falling, stained water after heavy rain changes streamer color and profile choices for Susquehanna smallmouthWhy topwater poppers still produce along the bank edges even when the main current carries reduced visibilityWhen to size up to bigger, darker streamers with added flash as anglers move off the bank into off-color waterHow stained, elevated water allows for shorter, more comfortable casts compared to low, clear pre-rain conditionsWhen to book a fall smallmouth trip with Susquehanna River Guides as the guide calendar opens up in September and OctoberTechniques & Gear CoveredShumaker splits his approach along a visibility gradient: poppers worked tight to the bank where a foot and a half or so of clarity remains, and streamers as anglers move out into the murkier main current. His streamer program centers on Half and Half and Clouser Minnow patterns in size two and one, favoring darker, flashier color combinations in stained water, including chartreuse-yellow with gold flash, black-and-olive and olive-and-orange. All of these are fished on an intermediate line rather than a heavier sinking option, even as fly size and color shift with conditions. On the presentation side, he notes that reduced water clarity has shortened the casting distance needed to reach productive water, a contrast to the 40-foot+ casts required during the low, gin-clear conditions before the rain.Locations & SpeciesThis report covers the Susquehanna River system in Central Pennsylvania, where Captain Brian Shumaker guides for smallmouth bass out of Susquehanna River Guides. Conditions are transitional: the river is dropping and clearing after a heavy rain event, moving from a bony, low-water late-summer pattern toward a fresh bump with a couple of feet of edge visibility.FAQ / Key Questions AnsweredHow does falling, stained water after heavy rain change smallmouth fly selection on the Susquehanna?Brian Shumaker sizes up to bigger, darker streamers with more flash as visibility drops moving off the bank, favoring Half and Half and Clouser Minnow patterns in size two and one. Color choices lean toward chartreuse and chartreuse-yellow with gold flash, or black-and-olive and olive-and-orange combinations that show up well in off-color water. When should anglers fish topwater poppers versus switch to streamers in low-visibility conditions?Poppers still work tight along the bank, where roughly a foot and a half of visibility typically remains even in stained water. As anglers move out five feet or more from the bank and lose that visibility, Shumaker shifts to streamers, then moves back to a full topwater program once the river fully clears. How does water clarity affect casting distance for Susquehanna smallmouth?During the low, gin-clear conditions before the recent rain, Shumaker often needed anglers to make consistent 40-foot+ casts to reach fish without spooking them. With some color back in the water, he can now position anglers closer to productive water, making the cast easier without sacrificing effectiveness. What fly line does Brian Shumaker use for streamer fishing in these conditions?Shumaker fishes his streamer program on an intermediate line rather than a more aggressive sinking option, keeping the same line even as he adjusts fly size and color for changing water clarity. When is Brian Shumaker's guide calendar open for fall smallmouth trips?Shumaker has open dates in late September and more availability through October before heading to Texas in November to chase redfish. Anglers can reach him by phone or text or through the Susquehanna River Guides website to book a fall trip.Allen Rupp's East Tennessee Tying ClassesOn August 21st and 22nd, Allen is teaching three schools at Tailwaters Fly Company in Bluff City, Tennessee.Friday, August 21, 5:30-7:30 PM: Dave's NearNuff Sculpin SchoolSaturday, August 22, 9:00-11:00 AM: Dave's NearNuff Crayfish SchoolSaturday, August 22, 3:00-5:00 PM: Whitlock's Bass Bug SchoolDon't forget to use ARTICULATEFLY at check out!Related ContentS8, Ep 56 - Topwater Tactics: Captain Brian Shumaker's Pennsylvania Smallmouth ReportS8, Ep 52 - Hot Days and Night Bites: Brian Shumaker's Guide to Pennsylvania Smallmouth FishingS8, Ep 44 - The Legacy of Classic Flies: Allen Rupp's Insights on Timeless PatternsS8, Ep 43 - Smallmouth Strategies and Seasonal Shifts: Captain Brian Shumaker's Pennsylvania ReportConnect with Our GuestFollow Brian on Facebook and Instagram.Follow the ShowFollow The Articulate Fly on Facebook, Instagram, Threads and YouTube.Follow our Substack newsletter for episode updates, tips and resources.Support the ShowShop through our Amazon link to support the podcast.Join our Patreon community to support the show.If you are in the industry and need help getting unstuck, learn more about our consulting options.Subscribe & AdvertiseSubscribe to the podcast in your favorite podcast app.Think our community is a good fit for your brand? The Drop Set: Bodybuilding Discussion on training, nutrition, motivation and more
I asked Claude AI to give me a list of what’s overrated and underrated in bodybuilding — and then I disagreed with half of it. In episode 305 of The Drop Set, I’m running through that list live with no prep, giving you my honest take on each one: HIIT cardio, meal timing, deload weeks, fancy supplements, macro tracking, the mind muscle connection, intermittent fasting, peak week complexity, cheat meals, posing practice, Epsom salt baths, and more. Some I agree with, some I don’t, and a few I have pretty strong opinions on. Also answering two listener voicemails this week — Jeff from New York wants to know which single prep meal I’d eat for two weeks straight, and Ron from Tennessee is planning a late 2027 competition and wants to know if a mini cut now makes sense. Plus a quick prep update: 10 days out from the Alabama Open, fat loss phase is done, calories are coming back up, and posing is the priority heading into the final stretch. Rachel Maddow looks at how a Trump-aligned Texas oil company appears to be trying to worm its way into drilling in Greenland, provoking a threatening response not only from Greenland residents and officials, but potentially from NATO ally Denmark. Rachel Maddow reports on an anti-immigrant group in Indiana attempting to stage a "mass deportation rally," only to end up moving the poorly attended rally to a "secret location" while counterprotesters swarmed the original location to stand up for their immigrant neighbors. Immediately upon the Supreme Court gutting the Voting Rights Act, several Southern states moved to eliminate Black congressional districts. But what Republicans didn't count on was the political backlash they would trigger. Rev. Earle Fisher, senior pastor at the Abyssinian Baptist Church, talks with Rachel Maddow about activating Black voters in Tennessee who are outraged at Republicans gerrymandering away their representation. Rep. LaMonica McIver joins to discuss the ongoing fight for human rights and human treatment of immigrants imprisoned by the Trump administration. Want more of Rachel? In this college football podcast episode, we continue our three-part 2026 SEC preview with deep dives on Georgia, Vanderbilt, Texas, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida. Georgia enters the season with perhaps the cleanest case of any contender in the conference, while Texas has all the talent to make a run at the SEC title but also enough lingering questions, plus a brutal schedule, to make us hesitate. How much separates the league’s best teams, and which concerns are worth taking seriously? We also dig into the growing Oklahoma hype and whether even marginal offensive improvement could make the Sooners significantly more dangerous, the latest attempt to build a functional offense around LaNorris Sellers at South Carolina, and a new era at Kentucky with Will Stein taking over for Mark Stoops. Vanderbilt begins life after Diego Pavia, while Tennessee forces us to reconsider whether we’ve been overlooking a roster that may be much closer to contention than we initially thought. And then there’s Florida. Ty goes all in on Jon Sumrall, a loaded Gators defense and a roster he believes is capable of making real noise in the SEC. Plus: Gunner Stockton’s continued toughness, buff John Mateer, Forrest Gump back in the SEC, Dan's Tennessee marriage, Simone Biles playing linebacker, and Jon Sumrall’s potential for postgame hijinks. He bestows the title upon this week's U.S. Amateur at Merion, breaking down the early action with Brendan to kick off this Wednesday episode. Brendan is excited to hopefully take in some of the tournament in-person this week but wonders how, in the age of streaming everything, there's been no broadcast coverage of the stroke play rounds so far. The two run through some big names that won't be making it to match play and set up what should be a great weekend of golf at one of America's most iconic championship venues.
