There was a time when many people in the Western world—believers and non-believers alike—knew the Bible's stories, teachings, and moral foundations. But today, Biblical knowledge is fading as postmodern thinking declares truth to be personal, shifting, and based on feeling. Scripture is clear: the gifts of the Holy Spirit continue throughout the Church Age until Jesus returns. But the Bible also strongly rebukes those who flaunt self-proclaimed titles like “Apostle,” “Prophet,” or “Archbishop.” In this video, Christine Darg examines the growing problem of grandiose, self-bestowed titles in the church—and how they often lead to control, financial exploitation, adulation and deception. Drawing from Matthew 23, Revelation 2:2, 2 Corinthians 11, and other key passages, she shows why Jesus warned against seeking honorifics and why we must test those who call themselves apostles. When it comes to following Jesus, there are things He put in motion specifically designed for He our new covenant. And possibly the key component of the new covenant is the fact that it requires a believer for it to actually work. Here's something else to keep in mind, when it comes to our new covenant, as one of His children, one of His disciples, we don't have to talk God into doing something that He's already established in Jesus. Something He's already put in motion.

1 John 5:11-13 (NIRV) Here is what God says about the Son. God has given us ETERNAL LIFE. And this life is found in his Son. Whoever BELONGS to the Son has life. 12, Whoever doesn't belong to the Son of God doesn't have life. 13, I'm writing these things to you who BELIEVE IN THE NAME of the Son of God. I'm writing so you will know that you have eternal life. As one of the Lord's Eternal Witnesses, according to His Word, there's only one way to ETERNAL LIFE. At the end of the day, it always comes back to believing. Absolutely everything about our new lives is built to function one way, by faith.

William F. Buckley once observed, “The most important intellectual enterprise is the distinction between right and wrong.” In today's episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reminds believers that compromise with the world's view of sin can quickly dull our sensitivity to God's Truth.
