Are you able to balance being resilient with being vulnerable? Actor Chiwetel Ejiofor has spent time figuring out when to keep moving forward, and when to let painful emotions wash over him. In this chat with Fearne, Chiwetel reflects on how a childhood trauma has shaped his character – everything from his fierce ambition to his optimistic outlook. He also reveals the moments self-doubt has almost proved insurmountable (including when he first got the script for 12 Years A Slave...!) Plus, is ‘acceptance' of your past ever truly possible, or is the simple realisation that life WILL go on regardless good enough? And, do you worry you've let your own life pass in a blur? Chiwetel explains how he's learnt to live in the present.Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy is out in UK cinemas now.If you liked this episode of Happy Place, you might also like:Lenny HenryDavid TennantNorah Jones Hosted on Acast. Chiwetel Ejiofor is one of my favorite working actors, with an insane amount of range that David Mamet thought was “impossible” - he's also part of the school of British actors who are able to do American accents so well they frequently play Americans without any trace of natural accent. In this episode, I rundown my 3 Chiwetel Ejiofor movies you need to watch, and discover that his upcoming directorial debut (currently filming) is based on a relatively obscure book I read and loved, which should make for another excellent project for Chiwetel.Come to Watch This Tonight as your podcast for best movie recommendations. This week Vee and John picked two movies starring Clive Owen.....and both just happen to have Chiwetel Ejiofor in them too. Join our hosts as they discuss two movies from 2006 that are still great today. This is: Inside Man, and Children of Men.
This might be one of the strangest series that we have watched in a little while! Today's episode is a recreation/sequel of something that David Bowie did, if that is any indication of how strange this TV show might be! BUT, Chiwetel Ejiofor is a phenomenal actor, with an awesome surrounding cast, so it's definitely something that you should got to Showtime in order to watch! We're talking about The Man Who Fell to Earth! "An alien (Chiwetel Ejiofor) arrives on earth with a mission: to learn to become human and find the one woman (Naomie Harris) who can help save his species. Together they discover that in order to save his world, they must first save ours." Chiwetel's alien character seems absolutely alien. His mannerisms, and speech, definitely tell the audience that this character isn't from earth. He's come to earth in order to save his world which is going through a giant drought, but finds out that he also must save Earth! If you tune in to this series for anything, tune in for Chiwetel's performance, and I promise you'll be sucked in by everything else. In 1994 kwam Disney’s The Lion King uit. Een prachtige tekenfilm over een kleine prins die over heel wat jaren in zijn vaders voetsporen zal treden als Leeuwenkoning van de Afrikaanse savanne. We interviewed the cast of the Netflix film The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind back at Sundance in January. Actor/Director Chiwetel Ejiofor talks about his directorial debut and his cast reflects on their director who also worked double duty and plays the father in the film. We were seriously charmed by the young actor Maxwell Simba who plays the lead character William Kamkwamba in The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind and sitting across from Chiwetel at 8 am wasn't bad either. I'm someone that will often draw inspiration and wisdom from all over and I have to say that the movie "The Boy who Harnessed the Wind" was full of things to inspire. Much kudos goes to Chiwetel Ejiofor. Three things that stood out to me wre tips that could be used for any business owner or speaker. The only spolier here is that the movie was excellent. 1. Act and people will invest 2. Ideas always sound crazy when they are still an idea3. Sometimes you have to change your surroundings. The Filmlosophers, Eddie Villanueva and Chad Riley, share a spoiler-light review of Marvel Studios' Doctor Strange (2016) starring Benedict Cumberbatch. The latest MCU film features some trippy visuals and has received criticism for some of its casting decisions. Is the whole greater than the sum of its parts, or does its ambitious stance leave the story feeling fragmented in various segments of the multiverse? News items in this episode include another director dropout for Warner Bros. stuck-in-development-hell The Flash, as well as a recent announcement about a new, live action Snow White film from Disney.

This week we’re tearing apart the beloved romantic comedy from 2003 “Love Actually.” This star-studded cast of British regulars (and Laura Linney) intersect in a tangled web of love (I guess) in London that would make Robert Altman spin in his grave. Hugh Grant plays the lovesick Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and Billy Bob Thornton plays the president of the United States. Others include Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Emma Thompson, Martin Freeman, Andrew Lincoln, Keira Knightley, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and the late, great Alan Rickman. We wonder why people would ever consider this movie romantic, because all the characters merely confuse instant attraction and distant infatuation for love. We unpack the uneasiness of Liam Neeson’s creepy step-son, Laura Linney’s bizarre relationship with her mentally ill brother, and the famous holding-cue-cards-at-the-door scene. Keating deals with his inexplicable untoward thoughts about certain cartoon characters while we also try to figure out why this movie feels the need to countdown the weeks until Christmas, and what exactly Billy Bob Thornton means by saying, “nice pipes.” Tell us what you think by chatting with us (@filmsnuff) on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, or by shooting us an email over at mailbag@filmsnuff.com. On this podcast, recorded Friday, January 10, 2014, Erik, Ben and Long discuss the DGA and BAFTA nominations and their predictions for the Golden Globe winners this Sunday.
In this episode, Michael and Ben discuss the trailer for the latest Arnold Schwarzenegger film Sabotage, whether Love Actually is a classic romcom or overlong and overrated, Chiwetel Ejiofor's villianous turn in Four Brothers, the merits of remaking Road House, the video release of The World's End, and whether or not 12 Years a Slave is too preoccupied with showing horrific acts to be a truly great film.
For the 2nd time, we branch out to movies currently in theatres with The Now Playing Project! No AFI classics to be found in this podcast. This time we tackle the intense 12 Years A Slave (with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael Fassbender) and Captain Phillips (with the beloved Tom Hanks). Apart from some very mild spoilers (which seem self-evident when you realize the movies are based on books written by the people who lived these tortures), you’re safe to hear everything without us ruining the surprises. Fire ‘em up!
