Summer's in full swing, and this week both Elliot and Dan had to sweat things out to get the podcast recorded. But the hacks were cool -- see what I did there? -- and provided much-needed relief. Join us as we listen in on the world of bats, look at a laser fit for a hackerspace, and learn how to make an array of magnets greater than -- or less than -- the sum of its parts. There'll be flying eggs, keyboards connected to cell phones, and everything good about 80s and 90s cable TV, as well as some of the bad stuff. And you won't want to miss Elliot putting Dan to shame with the super-size Quick Hacks, either, nor should you skip the Can't Miss sweep with a pair of great articles by Al Williams. Check out the show notes on Hackaday for the links if you want to follow along, and as always, tell us what you think about this episode in the comments!

Hosts Andy and Tom talk about how a local restaurateur built a $90 million company after closing five venues in Columbus, a hidden portrait found while X-raying a historic painting, the $9 million overhaul of Blue Ash's living room, the revitalization of the historic Emery Theater in OTR and Cincinnati's historic showing at the James Beard awards.Interview starts at (17:32). Leigh Fox was drawn to science, so he got a degree in geology. It was working in the field, specifically seeing just how much Duck Tape his company was using and wondering who was getting paid for all of that, which caused him to shift his focus to business. He talks about the overhaul of Altafiber's downtown headquarters, consolidating for seven floors into two; how he managed the shift from Cincinnati Bell to Altafiber; and how 30 years of playing guitar keeps him grounded and humbled.Above the Fold is a podcast by the Cincinnati Business Courier.

Hey Identifier, A drunk Frontier passenger screamed his parents were worth $2million after groping two flight attendants then punched a third before crew duct taped him to a chair. Footage captured the moment Maxwell Berry, 22, was duct taped to his seat while on a Frontier flight to Florida. A second video showed Berry repeatedly shouting 'help me, help' while wriggling free from the duct tape around his mouth as the plane came into land. He was arrested on three counts of battery after the incident, on a flight from Philadelphia to Miami on Saturday. The meltdown began when the 22-year-old Ohio native, who already had several drinks on the flight, ordered an additional one. In Episode 9, we're sharing our go-to simple crafts that add fun and color to decor, props and events. And, we hope to inspire you to up your crafting game at your studio! We create so many of our own backdrops, props, small, Twirl preschool crafts, and costumes! Check out #rhythmcraftcenter for fun photos. We also created this graphic with images of each item we discuss! 1. Cardboard Letters & Numbers: We purchase them at Hobby Lobby, but you can find them at most craft stores. We like the 18" letters, but the 8" ones are fun, too. We used them for a staff photo shoot by spray-painting the each letter of RHYTHM a different color, covered in spray adhesive and sprinkled glitter all over them. Since then, we’ve used these for almost every photo shoot and/or event by painting, covering them with Duck Tape and other craft supplies! 2. Pom Pom Balls: We LOVE pom poms! We have hot glued them on most everything : photo props, costumes, stage props, the cardboard letters and more! You can also purchase pom pom garlands or create your own to use as decor or in a photo shoot! 3. Felt Fabric: We use felt fabric to make capes, wings, ponchos, mermaid fins, skirts, little fanny packs, purses, bags, and so much more. Our November #FunConfettiMood blog post included a really cute pink A-Frame Cabin made out of felt! 4. Duck Tape: There are so many colors, fun prints and themes of this tape, available at craft and hardware stores. We prefer this over painting things sometimes as it creates a super saturated color, and you can make straight lines pretty easily too! We use it to cover cardboard letters, styrofoam floral wreaths, canes and even an electric truck we used for a stage prop! 5. Glitter Paper Mosaic: This tip will make your stage props shine super bright! Use glitter foam sheets or card stock and cut it into random shapes. Then hot glue them onto your surface to create a mosaic look. You can use multi-colored paper for a stained glass effect or different shades of the same color to create a water or sky effect. The next time you are at a craft store, pick up some of these supplies and create something colorful and fun to use in your studio! And, if you use any of these ideas to create some fun, share with us!Subscribe & ShareYou are officially invited to subscribe to our podcast, and we would love you to leave us a 5 star rating and review! The Jokers are discussing their various tells which are multiplying by the minute from like to sort of and interestingly from actually to going and then in combination particularly sort of like actually.Actually the Surprising Truth is wrapped up in the word is "To Act" or to make Real by Doing, All this time their favourite go-to word was telling them to Stop Talking and Just Go Do it.They have both arrived at the Ah Hah moment of Knowing is not Doing, they need to stop questioning and start acting, well not acting that's pretending but rather acting on and thus doing and then do again.Garvin likes his own company, however, George points out that one is a very lonely number, a shared experience makes for a better journey, Thelma and Louise aside.Garvin tells his wife the thing he likes doing most is nothing and he is particularly good at it, if he doesn't say so himself. He is very very happy doing it, she should try it sometime and points out his podcast that affirms to him that it's ok to do nothing, she points out that it is himself on the podcast but takes his point. His poor daughter gets a lecture on motivational journeys by inadvertently enquiring as to his preference for a tea or coffee with his lunch. The Family agree to put a Do Not Disturb sign on the Studio Door or Suffer a cascade of mad-eyed motivational babble at your peril.George has got his tools out and is disassembling his chatterbox, the milky way fell out of one unfolded side, highlighting a bunch of mirrors in the process, Garvin has no clue what is going on but assures him that he should be able to squeeze it back in again and tie it off with a bit of Duck Tape, no one will notice so not to worry.George has just become a granddad for the first time, Garvin says to enjoy it while it lasts as time is fleeting and there's potentially and extinction-level event on the horizon in give or take 10 to 10000 years time, it's all relative and just a matter of perspective.George leaves Garvin on a Rant about he is growing everywhere but where he wants to, Balder, Fatter, Uglier, Older just not wiser. He finishes on the fact he actually has a lot more to give and his genie is free and passing out loaves and fishes to anyone that wants one.George is complaining about being on the road to nowhere or Hornsby railway track to be more precise, the irony is no longer lost on him that it's a single circular track and you need to go off road if you want to end up somewhere different. The Jokers agree every chapter has a beginning, middle and end, that they need to keep writing the story, the never-ending story until it arrives at its natural end in Rome, no point in grieving every chapter, George likes to however Garvin is happy to shoot the horse he rode in on sometimes so there's no going back.It is actually time to let them go, the podcasts, the chapters to have their own lives and journeys to make new friends and influence people to become real.

When dealing with a problem how do you deal with it? In a useful, this problem will get better and be fixed way or in a, slap some duck tape on it and hope it goes away? As it is Sunday, now is a good chance to look back through your week and see which you deal with things.
As part of school wide STEM challenge where students hypothesized how many pieces of a certain length Duck Tape it would take to make their principal stick to the wall, Dr.Drinkwine allows faculty to tape him to wall as students looked on in disbelief and excitement! He is our first and likely last captive guest!

Week 8 - Driving on US-27 through Oxford is no fun with pedestrians crossing all over the road. Got sent to the Marshfield terminal to have preventive maintenance done on my truck. For hump day I got to bobtail 100 miles and spend 3 hours in Chicago traffic. Then on Thursday my trailer skirt was flapping around and I fixed it with Duck Tape. Again I did not make it home on Friday because I was waiting on a load. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/anthrit/support

This week, I have more evidence that "quick and dirty" is from the Pacific Northwest, why we say "to boot," whether the correct name is "duct tape" or "duck tape," whether it's really wrong to say "Can I go to the bathroom," and an excerpt from an interview with June Casagrande about pronouns. Be sure to leave us a quick review on iTunes! Hi, this is Corey. I, along with Jessica Rhodes, created the audio series, The Podcast Producers. It is a ten-part audio program made to study what we considered to be some of the most compelling interpretations of what's happening in the podcasting space, as told by our guests - The Podcast Producers. If this is your first listen, I recommend you start at Episode 1, entitled Is There Anybody Out There, and work your way through the series. What you are about to hear is the raw, unedited version of my interview with podcaster, blogger, and author David McRaney. Jessica and I are going to release these “behind the scenes” shows for you to get a look at the linear form conversations that took place ahead of editing and production the final program. There's a lot of great insights and content that wound up on the cutting room floor, and it's our hope that you can find even greater depth and value in this interviews in their pure state. These are unpolished, raw, and real. Thanks again for the support, and you can find out more at www.thepodcastproducers.com. And now, here's my interview David McRaney. David's Bio: I created the blog You Are Not So Smart. I did a lot of other things before that. I even owned two pet stores for a few years. Yes, pet stores. Don't do that, by the way. My blog became an internationally bestselling book now available in 14 languages. It also became a podcast hosted at Boing Boing where I'm currently writing about psychology. My second book, You Are Now Less Dumb, was released in 2013. I'm working on a third book right now, probably while you are reading this. I cut my teeth as a newspaper reporter covering Hurricane Katrina on the Gulf Coast and in the Pine Belt region of the Deep South. Later, I covered things like who tests rockets for NASA, what it is like to run a halfway home for HIV-positive homeless men, and how a family sent their kids to college by making and selling knives. Since then, I have been an editor, photographer, voiceover artist, television host, public speaker, and tornado survivor. I worked for several years as the head of digital media for WDAM-TV where I also produced The Green Couch Sessions, a TV show about the music of the Deep South. I've done some commercial work too. I've written for Heineken, Duck Tape, and a few others. I recently appeared in a Reebok ad that I also helped write. I am married to Amanda McRaney, who is my favorite person, and I live in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. My cat's name is Simon.
