Greetings Glocal Citizens! This week, Women's Herstories Month takes me back to my recent journey to Nairobi, Kenya where the Glocal Citizens community came through in full effect. Are you a New Zoo 70s Kid? The New Zoo Revue starred Freddy The Frog, Charlie The Owl, Henrietta Hippo and real-life couple, Doug Momary and Emily Jo Peden Momary. Together with their courtyard of critters, they taught kids the values of courtesy, cooperation, humility, patience, kindness, problem-solving, manners, and promises. Throughout the 70s and beyond, the show aired five days a week and it was packed with fun, humor, lessons and music. At the end of 2018, I launched a cake subscription service, "Courtney's Cake Club." As a member of the club, you'd receive premeasured and prepackaged ingredients for one of my cakes, along with easy-to-follow instructions for how to make each one. I was even doing exclusive videos for club members and had partnered with some awesome brands to add surprises in the boxes each month. By the middle of 2019, the cake boxes were being featured in O Magazine, Hallmark Home and Family TV, Entrepreneur.com, and The Today Show. It was a dream come true! But behind-the-scenes, things weren't looking as good as they did on the screen and on pages in magazines. Shana is a huge Ood fangirl, and calls "Planet of the Ood" her favorite New Who episode. Donna not being a "hot piece of ass," but just a really good friend of the Doctor. Talking about Catherine Tate's fame in Britain versus her presence in Doctor Who. David Tennant and Peter Capaldi as fanboys versus someone less familiar with the content. Amy and Rory as a unit. Daniel proves his inability to read. Drawing direct parallels between Rose and Amy. Shana is confused about what happens with Amy. Unmotivated changes in Amy's profession. Policewoman Amy.
