"They tryna make me Amin Elhassan!" Dan's inner monologue is very excited to talk about some NFL media news after Tony Dungy was let go from Football Night in America. Should NBC make a run at Philip Rivers or Smokin' Jay Cutler to replace him? Zas tests how much Amin knows about that. Thursday's 7am hour of Mac & Cube began with more (annoying) lawsuits in the realm of College Football; then, Tyler Siskey, the new OC for your Birmingham Stallions, tells us how excited he is for (most of) the new UFL rules and why he'd like to see junior college football return to Alabama; later, the guys think it's wild to see the son of Philip Rivers commits to NC State; and finally, Cole isn't a fan of the latest QB trying to get a 7th year of eligibility. Mason Rudolph picked his side in the Joey Porter vs Ben Roethlisberger battle, and it's not much of a surprise to know he was happy to hear Porter go on and on after #7. Their relationship was notably sour and The Fan may have had some impact in it going down that road. Peezy also took shots at James Harrison, and the guys aren't convinced Harrison will take the high road on this. Executive Chef Michael Campbell from Le Mont joined the show. Le Mont catered some food in the office today and Michael ran the guys through what they had to offer. Mullsy, a self-aspiring chef, had some questions. We then got back into the ongoing battle between Ben Roethlisberger and Joey Porter. Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Mike doesn't think there will be a hard deadline on the Steelers waiting on Aaron Rodgers like some local media have claimed. Is there anywhere else Rodgers will go? Mike believes if Rodgers does play in 2026, this year will absolutely be it. Mike thinks Rodgers should be the Philip Rivers of 2026 and wait around for a contending team that needs a QB. Mike feels like the Steelers drafting a QB in the '26 Draft would tell us more about Will Howard than Rodgers. Mike said it does surprise him a little bit that the Steelers wouldn't want to know about Rodgers by the time free agency begins. He thinks old options like Kirk Cousins or Joe Flacco could get the phone call, but how far could the Steelers really go with those guys? Mike weighed in on the war of words started by Joey Porter in the direction of Ben Roethlisberger. Mike thinks things changed a little bit with Ben after he was suspended in 2010, but is not surprised to hear something like this. Will stuff like this cost Big Ben a shot at being a first ballot Hall of Famer? Mike thinks it may take Ben some time to get to the HOF, but he should get in before Eli Manning. Mike got into the logjam that tends to be created when it comes to HOF entry. How was Mike's flight back to Pittsburgh from the Super Bowl?

This episode kicks off with the hosts tackling the latest uncharacteristic move in the NFL coaching carousel: the Steelers' hiring of Mike McCarthy. Given Pittsburgh's history of picking young, up-and-coming head coaches like Mike Tomlin, Bill Cowher, and Chuck Noll—all hired in their mid-30s—the crew is baffled by the choice of the 62-year-old McCarthy. The conversation then shifts to the perplexing situation in Buffalo, where the Bills' head coaching job seems to be strangely unappealing. Philip Rivers was interviewed and then withdrew his name after Mike McDaniels canceled his interview. The hosts can't figure out why a job with a generational quarterback like Josh Allen would be such a hard sell. The main event this week is the incredible run of the "Eustacoods," champions of the first-ever Washington Nationals Fantasy Camp. The guys relive the entire experience, including an intense, competitive championship game where the team had to rally from a 7-5 deficit in the sixth inning to beat the previously undefeated Lawn Chair Legends. They break down the high level of play, the use of Field of Dreams whiskey and champagne, and the clutch moments, including a game-ending play at first base against one of the camp's best players, and the highly debated "beautiful bunt" laid down by Cousin Justin against a former Major League pitcher.

They break down why this run feels different from past Seahawks contenders, examine the favorable NFC landscape, and agree there's only one opponent that truly scares them: the Rams. Ray Roberts explains why the Seahawks' ability to run between the tackles and control tempo was the true difference in their win over San Francisco, giving the offense "the remote control" of the game. He details how Mike Macdonald's defense shut down Brock Purdy by eliminating explosive plays, dominating tackles, and keeping constant pressure, while also addressing the benefits and risks of Seattle's first-round bye as they sit two home wins from the Super Bowl. Brady Henderson and Jackson Bevens join Mitch to break down Seattle's 13–3 dismantling of the 49ers, a game that felt like a blowout long before the final whistle. They credit Mike Macdonald's defense for completely erasing Brock Purdy and Kyle Shanahan's offense, while the Seahawks' run-heavy attack controlled tempo and time of possession. The conversation turns to expectations that now come with the No. 1 seed, health heading into the divisional round, and whether any NFC team — Rams included — can realistically challenge Seattle at Lumen Field. Rick Neuheisel joins Mitch to explain how the College Football Playoff quarterfinals exposed the new reality of college football, from Miami's physical formula to Indiana's suffocating defense and Oregon's offensive limitations. He unpacks the NIL and transfer-portal frenzy surrounding stars like Trinidad Chambliss, predicts massive seven-figure payouts for elite quarterbacks, and calls the current system "absolute craziness" headed for a reset. Whitlock goes in today on DK Metcalf and Sherrone Moore. DK is an idiot for punching a lions fan, and Ryan Clark and all the race baiters want to give him an excuse. They want new 'protocols' to protect the players. It's a joke. Whitlock then brings Sherrone Moore into the conversation. Sherrone is a DEI hire installed by Jim Harbaugh, and the Athletic just exposed him. This dude has no common sense. Despite the 49ers winning, Philip Rivers looked great last night. What's going on in the NFL? There's no way a dude should be able to come off the couch after 5 years and be effective in the NFL. Is this testament to Philip Rivers' greatness, or just how bad football has become?
