Ladies & gentlemen, it is with great pleasure (and a touch of trepidation) that I share with you my first podcast conversation with not one but TWO guests at a time! Don't worry; it's double the fun!Sarah Kathleen Johnson and Anneli Loepp Thiessen are the co-authors of a recently-published journal article in Worship called “Contemporary Worship Music As An Ecumenical Liturgical Movement”, which we use as a launchpad to be able to discuss things like the Taizé worshiping community, their work on the Voices Together hymnal, the challenges of being a successful songwriter and a “housewife”, and moooooore.I learned a lot from this conversation, and I hope you will too! Getting Curious is going spelunking! Caves are full of evidence about our Earth's past: they can tell us about monsoons in Laos and sea surface temperatures in Mexico over tens of thousands of years ago. They can also help predict our climate future. This week, Professor Kathleen R. Johnson takes us through the incredible world of caves and shares what it's like to scale 200-foot ladders, kayak all day in the dark, and encounter pythons, big ass spiders, and other creatures along the way—all in the name of science! Kathleen Johnson is a Professor in the Department of Earth System Science at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). She is a geochemist and a paleoclimatologist who specializes in reconstructing past climate changes using stalagmites from tropical and monsoon regions, with current projects in Laos, Vietnam, and Mexico. In addition, she directs the new UCI CLIMATE Justice initiative which aims to culturally transform the geosciences through training postbaccalaureate and PhD Fellows in community-engaged research practices and environmental justice. Portland area counties are joining together to work on a regional heat map. The data will be collected by volunteers, and public health officials hope that the information can help better prepare the region for hotter summers. In a typical year in Portland, no heat related deaths are reported. In 2021, after the record-breaking heat dome, at least 69 deaths resulted from extreme heat in the last week of June, according to Multnomah County. Summers in Oregon are heating up, and public health officials say that managing heat islands will be an important part of addressing rising temperatures. Kathleen Johnson is a senior program coordinator at Washington County Public Health. Morgan Zabow is a community heat and health information coordinator for NOAA. And J’reyesha Brannon is a volunteer with Multnomah County who will be collecting data for the heat map research. They join us to share more on the importance of exploring heat in and around Portland and the potential for collaboration among health officials and the general public.

Welcome to the Beyond the Reiki Gateway Podcast, a podcast reserved for the spiritually curious. I'm your host, Andrea Kennedy. I and fellow Reiki master teacher Kathleen Johnson released episode one back in January 2021. Now, new episodes will publish on the BTRG YouTube channel in full video format, so you can really be in on our conversations. I'll also be welcoming new guests who are pioneers in their fields, and we'll be venturing into some intriguing topics never explored before on the show.I warmly invite you to join me every two weeks, beginning Wednesday, July 19th, as we continue to venture beyond the Reiki gateway, all to help inspire and assist you as you travel your own unique journey of spiritual awakening and evolution. When the onion rolled out from under the seat of her car, everything changed for Kathleen. She wrote a book about using her inner resources to battle cancer called, "Year of the Onion: A Healing Journey with Cancer." Kathleen describes how she chose the middle path of following her intuition and her dreams as she navigated the healthcare system around her cancer treatment. We also speak about how dreams uncovered her childhood sexual abuse, about dreaming and aging and about connecting to deceased loved ones during dreams. We take a call from Jennifer from Santa Cruz who works with cancer patients. Jennifer asks how Kathleen would have like the doctors to have received her sharing of dreams during her treatment. BIO: Kathleen Johnson is an artist, writer, grandmother, spiritual seeker, dreamworker and octogenarian who lives in Summerville, South Carolina a few miles inland from the coast and historic Charleston. She has worked with her dreams for over fifty years. She is the author of Year of the Onion: A Healing Journey with Cancer released in 2021. Kathleen has been cancer-free for the past three years and attributes much of her healing success to the help of working with her inner resources. More than a memoir, her book encourages us to wake up to all the guidance that surrounds us including the nightly connection that we have with our dreams. It’s been a busy travel season here at the PATHPod! In their latest adventure, Toni and Jenny go all the way out to lovely, little Manchester-By-The-Sea, Massachusetts where they meet up with Kathleen Johnson, a Registered Dietitian who specializes in Intuitive Eating. Kathleen runs a private nutrition practice called Halve Your Cake where she allows patients the needed space to figure out that eating cake is not a reflection on their self-worth. The three of them talk about Diet Culture and how that has been exacerbated by our current global circumstances. Kathleen explains that Intuitive Eating is ultimately about handling our stress levels, which we could all use some help with right about now and the importance of recognizing that we eat for a lot of reasons other than hunger and that is ok! This conversation will give you a lot to ponder as you glean the tenets of this life-changing method for improving your relationship with food. If there was ever a time we needed to hear these messages, it would be right about now. Give it a listen! Introduction: I had the great pleasure of having Mike Bates on for the first half hour, talking about the Second Amendment Rally in Milton, FL this Saturday, but also a discussion of how Florida went from "The Gun-shine State" that led the way on concealed carry of guns, to the horrendously mistaken belief after the Parkland High School murders, that taking guns from good people, or siezing them from people on a mere accusation, will prevent murderers from murdering. This disconnect is the sole justification of gun control, and it's irrational. Mike stuck around for a bit and was joined by Anthony, Pianki, and then Wendy for her Art Report. 41:00 - Take a look at the Action Radio Art Project on Facebook! Wendy covered how to take part in art festivals today. Look up Kathleen Johnson who covers art festivals in the South. 54:00 - Anthony Nunez gave The Technology Report. Today, how your smart phone is making you dumber... 1:13:30 - This is where I start my rant on the main topic of the show, the omnipotence of District Judges and the exercise and obedience to the unconstitutional power of "Injunction" to overrule any law, decison, order, policy, regulation, or anything from the Legislative or Executive Branches and make them both do what some pissant judge decides on their own. I covered a couple more articles, provided more evidence for my claim, and hashed out with Anthony and Pianki what this all means.

The energy of distant healing is unfettered by the human constructs of time and space. The vibrational frequency of Reiki "transcends distance, and can be transmitted to anyone, anywhere - on the planet, and indeed, the Universe."
According to Dr. Oz, energy medicine is at the forefront of healing. Are we finally coming full circle, realizing what our ancestors instinctively knew eons ago? Everything is energy, including our physical selves. Energy healing addresses all levels of being, promoting true and lasting wellness.
