It's Tuesday...so time for a new episode! This week, I'm delighted to bring along my friend and colleague, Dr Jenny LaCross, to talk about anterior groin pain, hip dysplasia and...my favourite topic: constipation! Imagine you have a young female athlete coming in to see you who is complaining of deep anterior hip/groin pain and a feeling like her leg will give way...would dysplasia be on your radar? Would you know how to rule it in/out? (if not, have a listen and get the insight you may need for this differential diagnosis!) In this conversation, we discuss: what is hip dysplasia, and why we need to know about it femoroacaetabular impingement, cam & pincer issues if imaging alone isn't enough to diagnose this issue, what should we know? why early diagnosis & treatment is essential conservative/ rehab strategies (hint: strengthen not stretch!) surgical management (PAO) and precautions post-op rehab after surgery (including constipation management!) Jenny has an amazing in depth knowledge of this topic and was really generous with her time and wisdom - definitely a differential diagnosis we should have on our radar if female athletes are coming to see us! You can find Jenny on instagram as @jenn.lacross and you can find me and my continuing adventures in women's health there too - I'm @michellelyons_muliebrity (If you're listening to this the day it drops, be sure to follow my women's health Advent calendar - assisted by my lovely Barbie colleagues ;) For information on my online courses, please visit celebratemuliebrity.com

In this episode, I talked about company culture and knowing the heartbeat of your brand identity. I love watching my clients develop their company culture. There are many ways you can do this, including: Having them take the Enneagram test to get a better idea of strengths/weaknesses Have a gathering and meet their spouses Get comfortable with the people you work with. Remember how Jesus discipled and sat at the same table with them. One of my clients, Natalie Petroskey started her business during the pandemic. She owns Legacy Lacrosse, because she knew kids needed and wanted the human to human connection. She stewards kids well in Lacross and other sports in the Hampton roads area. One of the best things is her team. She has brought on coaches who have truly taken her company culture to heart.

What do the veteran players on the New Zealand All Blacks do when they win the world cup? The answer might surprise you. They clean out the locker room for the younger players on the team, they call it, sweeping the sheds. I learned this lesson a few years ago from a mentor of mine named Brian Holman the former coach of the University of Utah Men's Lacross team. It is a lesson that still resonates with me. Ben LaCross is a farmer, a leader in the agriculture industry, a small business owner, and now an author. With that same passion, Ben is educating children and teaching lessons surrounding the election process while also sharing the story of school-age bullying. “In the fall of 2018, Michigan was in the midst of electing a new governor. My son, then age 11, asked me questions about elections, government, and politics. We had incredible conversations about those important issues. Keaton and I had just finished reading a middle-grade book together, so I looked for a relatable book about politics and elections for him. I assumed that there must be a fun, entertaining, and educational book that could help him understand these topics while also teaching him the values we want to raise him with. After much research I realized there were no books Ben's that available,” explained Ben. Take a moment and tune in to the Leadership Lowdown! You'll learn some great lessons that are timely and valuable that came straight from today's news feed. You will enjoy hearing about his leadership journey and the values he wants to pass on to future generations. » Visit MBN website: https://www.michiganbusinessnetwork.com/ » Subscribe to MBN’s YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqNX… » Like MBN: https://www.facebook.com/mibiznetwork » Follow MBN: https://twitter.com/MIBizNetwork/ » MBN Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mibiznetwork/

Show Notes: https://wetflyswing.com/72 Rachel Finn put together one of my favorite episodes of the year. I will be honest and tell you that this isn't a tips and tricks episode. Instead, you get to hear what the hang is all about, Yale, sports and plenty of chat about art and life. Rachel surpasses the record for adult language in one episode. Keep track and leave a comment below with the total number of 4 letter words! Show Sponsors The Wet Fly Swing Members Society (https://wetflyswing.com/members) Show Notes with Rachel Finn (Update links: https://wetflyswing.com/72) Denny Rickards was on the podcast in episode 64 to cover stillwater fishing. April Vokey's blog post - So, You want to be a fishing guide: Part 1.53:00 - Nick Lyons was around the old tackle shop that Rachel discussed in the old store in New York. Teton Tioga Reels were the first two companies that helped to get Rachel out on the show circuit. We find out which is her favorite cigar. It's the Punch Rothschild Double Maduro. The old Who or the Old Rolling Stones were big for Rachel. Here is one of my favorite Songs by the stones. And here is some more Grateful Dead. The Girdle Bug and the Ausable Bomber are two of her goto flies. The American Museum of Fly Fishing is an important place to support. And if I get Yvon Chouinard on the podcast, you'll know that I will be obtaining a big goal for the show. You can connect with Rachel on Instagram @rfinn.
