About Ben Albert: Ben Albert is the owner of Balbert Marketing LLC. He found in marketing that he has a unique opportunity to empower business people to reach the RIGHT community, the RIGHT clients, and the RIGHT partners, who share the same beliefs and values as the clients. He is also the curator of The "Real Business Connections Network," where he hosts five podcasts: "Rochester Business Connections," "Learn Speak Teach," "Ben's Bites," "Five Minute Fridays," and "Real Hits." Ben chats with everyone from executives, entrepreneurs, convicts, behavior scientists, sales trainers, wellness experts, and more. It's his role to extract the best nibbles of wisdom from these experts so we can compress decades of wisdom into minutes for the listener. Check out the latest episode of our Conversational Selling podcast to learn more about Ben.In this episode, Nancy and Ben discuss the following:The Real Business Connections Network podcasting umbrellaBenefits of Podcasting: Building genuine connections and Reputation gainImportance of human-to-human connectionsAuthenticity as a core value of LinkedIn's algorithmCrucial importance of sharing successes, asking for testimonials, and leaving feedback in the business worldVideo Marketing as the fastest trust builderImportance of mindset and inner work in salesKey Takeaways: We want to reach the audience where they are rather than where we are. It's better to be different than just a little bit better. If someone helps you, leave them an endorsement, a testimonial, and a review. The inner work makes you a way better sales representative than any specific tactic ever could."Great minds think alike. You understand that in sales, in general, the best way to get a sale is from a referral. Like that's kind of simple, common sense. And I don't even like to call them referrals. I like nominations or recommendations. And at the end of the day, when you're, um, creating content and sharing influence with brilliant people, it leads to reputation gain. It leads to thought leadership, which leads to people talking about you and being impressed with you because you're adding value to their lives. What do you think that leads to? That leads to recommendations, nominations, and referrals. It's simple." – BEN."AI and tech are taking over the world in one way. But at the core, humans purchase solutions from other humans. We're fulfilling products and services for humans, by humans, to help humans. All the tech is just facilitating that process. Really, marketing, adding value, and then making the sales process so simple for you or your team will never go away. The better you are at building those human-to-human connections, and that can be in person, but it can be through social selling. It can be through content marketing or podcasting. The better you are at building those human-to-human connections, the better art you are going to be in business. And the AI can't replace you because there's only one you." – BEN."There's so much going on in video at the core. People say, "I don't have all the lights and the setup." But if you have a phone that can take videos, you can share them. And I think the biggest reason it's hot is that it's such a trust builder. It shows your face, expressions, style, and personality. So, when someone gets on a call with you when someone does meet you, there's already a rapport built because they've watched you, know you, and listened to you. So I think the reason video is so popular is one, it's entertaining, but two, in a sales and marketing context, it's the best way to build easy trust because you're unveiling the person behind the profile, behind the phone. You're showing an extra part of yourself." – BEN. Connect with Ben Albert:LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/realbenalbert/Balbert Marketing LLC:https://balbertmarketing.com/Real Business Connections: https://realbusinessconnections.com/Try Our Proven, 3-Step System, Guaranteeing Accountability and Transparency that Drives RESULTS by clicking on this link: https://oneofakindsales.com/call-center-in-a-box/  Connect with Nancy Calabrese: Twitter:https://twitter.com/oneofakindsalesFacebook:https://www.facebook.com/One-Of-A-Kind-Sales-304978633264832/Website:https://oneofakindsales.comPhone: 908-879-2911 LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ncalabrese/Email: leads@oneofakindsales.com

The fear is “if I dare to be myself, if I dare to express my voice, if I dare to be who I am, you won't love me, and I'm going to be alone and cursed.” ~ [08:51]  “Life is a series of choices, and some choices can shift the course of our destiny.” ~ [09:32] ~ “Sometimes what your soul guides you to do doesn't always make sense to your mind through your logic, but if you follow your soul and don't compromise your truth you will always be guided to the right people and places, doing the right thing even though the route you take may not be the one you were expecting.” ~ [10:20] ~ “You can't be fulfilled and happy being someone you're not, and you can't be fulfilled and happy living someone else's life. There is no shortage of people that will think they know what is best for your life and your evolution and will have so much advice for you, but the truth is, our souls know.” ~ [12:11] ~ “We're all being guided by wisdom inside of us and innate intelligence which we don't listen to. We're so busy that we're not in tune with it, we're so busy that we distract ourselves, we're so busy that we don't hear our own souls and wisdom deep inside us. We look outside of ourselves for guidance and end up misguided.” ~ [16:51] ~ “People think in manifesting you have to go chase things, create things and make them happen, but in life, you don't get what you want, you don't even get what you pray or visualize about, you get what you are.” ~ [19:11] ~ “Surrender is letting go of control; surrender is letting go of trying to force and manipulate life to fit our limited idea of how we think it should be and who we think we should be. In letting go, we take limitations off life, and we open ourselves to the infinite possibilities.” ~ [25:42] ~ “Surrendering is the most powerful thing we can do as human beings. Surrender is the password to freedom, is the key to the next level, and is the key to true manifestation.” ~ [27:06] ~ “Stop praying for the waves of the ocean to get easier. Instead, develop your mental, emotional and psychological muscle to be able to surf through the waves, you don't have any control of the ocean, but you've control over the training of your mental capacity.”~ [38:35] ~ “Life is a school. Life is a university for our souls' evolution. Every experience, every relationship, every challenge is part of the curriculum for our soul evolution, so every moment is an opportunity to evolve. In every situation, if we are able to learn the lesson, we evolve and graduate to the next level.” ~ [41:28] “Pain is gift, pain is a messenger, pain is your friend, you must learn to pay attention to the pain and embrace the message of the pain because often by acknowledging the pain, the pain is a portal to a deeper level of our truth trying to get our attention.” ~ [49:42] -- FULL SHOW NOTES AT: https://realbusinessconnections.com/episode/kute/

Discipline is doing what you don't want when you don't want to do it, and the best way to put it into practice is separating planning your attack from attacking your plan.” ~ [03:39] ~ “Start your day with your toughest and most important task that requires the most focus. Also accept the reality that most days you will not get everything done that you set out to do, but if you prioritize before attacking that list, even if you don't, at least you can sleep with the peace knowing that you did the most important task first.” ~ [08:23] ~ “Your attitude is more important than your circumstances. The adversity you are dealing with is less important than your perspective on it. The only two things that you can control are your effort and your attitude, and you should focus on those things.” ~ [13:09] ~ “If you want to be a great salesperson, anytime you are taking action, whether it's cold calling, cold emailing, giving a proposal, showing a demo, or meeting a customer for lunch, think about what one of the average do and do the opposite.” ~ [21:21] ~ “Most salespeople are not good, they don't take pride in the profession and the craft, they don't care about the psychology. The difference between a dream and a goal is that goals have tangible steps.” ~ [08:43] ~ “If you have not done the random word exercise a hundred times, the steps don't matter; you get points on how many times you do the exercise, not on how well you do it.” ~ [09:52] ~ “Fear of communication… the anxiety of communication... can never be completely removed. It's kind of if you are in a marriage and expecting every day to be a great day; that is a wrong expectation.” ~ [15:36] “Think of your fear or anxiety like a boxing match, where one side of the ring is fear or any stressors, and the other side of the ring is the message and why it's important for you to share. The goal is not for the fear to leave the ring, but to make sure when the two meet in the middle, and the bell rings, the message gets the knockout punch.” ~ [16:48] ~ “The best speakers on the planet use three tones at the same time so that they can go high, low, and regular at any time, don't stay at the same tone when doing public speaking.” ~ [31:25] ~ “What's great about practicing communication is that the worst thing that can happen is that you get better.” ~ [40:04] ~ “Pausing is the most important power technique in communication; it allows us to emphasize the key parts of our message; you want to pause at the parts of your speech where you feel your audience should pay attention to.” ~ [47:27] ~ “The reason you need a smile in your speech is that the presentation isn't about you and what you think. Our Authenticity Depends on Our Values, Not Our Comfort Zones Throughout our lives we learn many lessons about ourselves and others, how we move on and grow from these lessons is how we become better versions of ourselves even if at the time it seems painful. By sharing what we've learned and our interests in a constructive and compassionate way, without sounding condescending or judgmental we can achieve our best selves.   In this episode Sarah Elkins and Ben Albert talk about the importance of life lessons and sharing our interests with others in a way that doesn't sound conceited, as well as balancing our work and life in a healthy way, and through doing so learn how to reflect on ourselves in order to benefit others and ourselves by being empathetic and vulnerable. Highlights Being conscious of how you speak and rewording things that can seem negative. Being proud of being your whole self There is continuity in steps that feel disconnected Balance is essential for a healthy life Quotes “To me it doesn't matter who gets the trophy, so long as the solution is found.” - Ben Albert “ “Should” doesn't demonstrate care, it demonstrates judgment.” Sarah Elkins About Ben Albert   Ben is the owner of Balbert Marketing LLC. He is also the curator of The “Real Business Connections Network,” where he hosts 5 podcasts, “Rochester Business Connections,” “Learn Speak Teach,” “Ben's Bites,” “Five Minute Fridays,” and “Real Hits.” Once an underdog, now a successful entrepreneur, Ben is passionate about helping other underdogs achieve their dreams. When Covid hit, Ben was furloughed from work. He found himself down and out, staring at an empty handle of Jim Bean Whiskey. He was unemployed, depressed, and felt unworthy. Hesitantly, he opened his Macbook and started reaching out to strangers on Linkedin. This spearheaded his entrepreneurial journey.  The rest is history.  Now Ben hosts a network of 5 podcasts called “Real Business Connections,” runs a massively successful marketing firm, Balbert Marketing, and has replaced his established sales income in just over a year. Ben found his way. Once an underdog, now a successful entrepreneur, Ben is passionate about helping other underdogs find their way and achieve their dreams. Ben is on a mission to move the needle on one million careers, one conversation at a time.   You can contact Ben via his Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, and at Balbert Marketing! Or schedule a consultation with him Here! You can also listen to his podcast Real Business Connections on Apple or Spotify! About Sarah Elkins "Uncovering the right stories for the right audiences so executives, leaders, public speakers, and job seekers can clearly and actively demonstrate their character, values, and vision." In my work with coaching clients, I guide people to improve their communication using storytelling as the foundation of our work together. What I've realized over years of coaching and podcasting is that the majority of people don't realize the impact of the stories they share - on their internal messages, and on the people they're sharing them with. My work with leaders and people who aspire to be leaders follows a similar path to the interviews on my podcast, uncovering pivotal moments in their lives and learning how to share them to connect more authentically with others, to make their presentations and speaking more engaging, to reveal patterns that have kept them stuck or moved them forward, and to improve their relationships at work and at home. The audiobook, Your Stories Don't Define You, How You Tell Them Will is now available! Included with your purchase are two bonus tracks, songs recorded by Sarah's band, Spare Change, in her living room in Montana.
