Want to learn more about watches? email us at support@chriswarnes.com We buy, sell, trade, consign, service, source and repair. Do you want to work with us on a timepiece? email us support@chriswarnes.com In this video, I'll share my personal picks for the best timepieces available around the $2,000 mark. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just getting started, these watches offer great quality, style, and wrist presence without breaking the bank. Here's the breakdown: 1. Tudor Black Bay M79540 Available in several dials, though the black dial is a standout for me. Slight resemblance to the iconic Submariner, but with its own unique character. At 41mm, it's a great size that's noticeable but not overpowering. Priced right around $2,000 on the secondary market. 2. TAG Heuer Formula 1 Date (WAZ2011) A classic with a deep connection to motorsports history. Bold wrist presence with a 43mm case size, larger than the Tudor. Easily recognizable design and available new for a bit over $2,000; used models can be found for less. 3. Oris Aquis Date (01 733 7789) Featuring a striking green dial and matching rubber strap. At 43.5mm, it's an eye-catching piece; Oris nails this shade of green. An underrated model from a brand that deserves more attention. 4. Breitling Endurance Pro Available in a range of colors and options, with sizes in both 44mm and 38mm (targeted at women). Powered by "Super Quartz," so keep in mind it's not automatic. Lightweight and great for sports or gym wear; priced around $2,000 new on the secondary market, and even lower pre-owned. 5. Omega Seamaster (2850.5) A vintage, mid-80s automatic model with a 50mm case. Omega has a long history of quality with the Seamaster line, making this a solid option if you can find one in good condition. These watches offer style, history, and a solid build at a relatively affordable price for luxury. Let me know in the comments which of these you'd pick or if there are others you'd recommend in this price range! Get your Dominate Your Day Book https://chriswarnes.com/book/

Want to learn more about watches? email us at support@chriswarnes.com We buy, sell, trade, consign, service, source and repair. Do you want to work with us on a timepiece? email us support@chriswarnes.com In this episode, we take a closer look at the stunning Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, launched in 2022 to celebrate 60 years of James Bond. Inspired by the iconic 1995 film GoldenEye, where Bond first sported the Seamaster Diver 300M, this watch is a true masterpiece. We dive into the details, starting with the blue oxalic anodized aluminum dial, featuring laser-engraved waves. The dial's beauty shines in any light, making it a standout feature of this timepiece. With a 42mm steel case, powered by the Omega 8806 Co-Axial movement, it boasts a 55-hour power reserve and water resistance up to 300 meters (1,000 feet). The MSRP on the bracelet is $8,300, and interestingly, it's one of the few Omega models that doesn't drop in price on the secondary market. This watch is versatile enough for both casual and formal occasions—whether you're heading to dinner, attending a wedding, or just wearing it day-to-day. While it may hold its value, it won't appreciate much over time. We give it a solid 8.8/10 for its timeless appeal and practicality. Tune in for the full review! Pierce Brosnan's final two James Bond movies, THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH and DIE ANOTHER DAY had some very cool gadgets. How many of the gadgets do you remember from those movies? In this episode, Dan and Tom decode about 30 of them. Are these gadgets believable? Realistic? Based on any real science? If you are a fan of this show, you probably know that DIE ANOTHER DAY is one of Tom's bottom two James Bond movies. Yet, he liked its pre-title sequence in part due to some of the gadgets we'll call out. So, some things we decode are: How much fun would you have firing a flamethrower from a moving hovercraft? The OMEGA Seamaster – ya gotta love Watch gadgets! We also saw a very cutting gadget (yes both puns are intended). Once we see it used for its real function. Then later and again in a more nefarious use. We talk about a gadget that used to be advertised in the back of magazines. Did any of you ever buy one? And even M gets into gadget development. Um, if Elektra asks you to sit in a chair, be very afraid. A Single Digital Sonic Agitator, really? And sometimes you can't unsee what you can't see. That one was a lame gadget So have a listen, getting a better understanding of these gadgets will enhance your viewing experience next time you watch THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH or DIE ANOTHER DAY. Tell us what you think about the gadgets in THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH and DIE ANOTHER DAY Did we miss any gadgets? Which are your favorite gadgets? Did any gadgets strike you as believable? If so, which ones? Let us know your thoughts, ideas for future episodes, and what you thought of this episode. Just drop us a note at info@spymovienavigator.com. After a one-week hiatus, the boys are all back under one roof – Zach is back from Copenhagen, Russ is back from jort-skiing Palisades on the second-to-last weekend of the season, and Rob has returned from a journey through Omega's epic new manufactory – y'know, the solar-powered campus designed by renowned Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, wherein a state-of-the-art robot tirelessly sorts over 30,000 boxes containing every watch part imaginable and delivers individual components to watchmakers who are hard at work building the Omega watches we know and love. In this episode, Rob takes us on a deep dive into historical vintage Seaamsters from the museum, talks about his impressions of the factory, and maybe even sets the record straight on just how special these Calibre 321 Speedmasters really are (spoiler: they're real special). Fratello On Air returns and this week we discuss alternative watches to those already in our collections. The idea came from a listener of the Whiskey & Watches podcast. It was then covered by the folks on Wrist Cheese Radio and the Spirit of Time podcast. We take our own spin on this idea as you'll soon hear. We're uninvited guests to the party! A few podcasts we know and enjoy have all taken their shot at a similar theme or alternative watches to something they already own. In our case, we choose watches from each other's collections, "throw them away," and then suggest a replacement. There's a lot of watch talk here, so get ready!Aufwiedersehen Handgelenks KontrolleMike has officially relocated to London, England, and has left Balazs to watch the fort that is Germany. As a result of the move, we've decided to retire the Handgelenks Kontrolle usage unless both are back in Germany. Therefore, we need a new saying and you can help! We want something English and have discussed Cockney rhyming slang possibilities. "Kettle and Hob" is slang for a watch, so we're sticking with a "Kettle Check" for now. Again, though, feel free to bring it! Mike kicks things off with his Seiko Cronos reference J13028 from the early '60s. It's a rare black-dialed variant that many see as a precursor to the brand's first divers. Balazs, on the other wrist, is wearing the new Nivada Grenchen Chronoking "Paul Newman" Orange.Alternative WatchesWe move on to the main topic related to alternative watches. Here, we each pick three of each other's watches, dispose of them, and suggest alternatives. What a week! On episode 56 of A Week in Watches we cover a lot, yet barely even scratch the surface of what launched (don't worry, we'll get back to it next week). We start off with a look at the second collaboration between Louis Erard and Massena LAB. From there, we descend the depths of the Omega Seamaster catalog with a special collection of 11 new watches for the lines 75th anniversary. After, there's a speed round where we quickly cover the Tissot PRX 35mm, the Oris Divers Sixty-Five Steel 38mm Cotton Candy Collection, and the Cara Barrett x Timex collab. Whew. The last segment focuses on a truly epic project by Furlan Marri, the Secular Perpetual Calendar for the upcoming Only Watch auction in November. Quite a week. This week's sponsor is Windup Watch Fair Chicago 2023! After a successful weekend in San Francisco, the highly anticipated Windup Watch Fair is heading back to the vibrant city of Chicago from Friday, July 14, through Sunday, July 16, 2023. This episode of Fratello On Air was recorded on the eve of Watches & Wonders. We talk about a couple of the newest releases before turning to our main topic. We choose an accessory, an article of clothing, and a watch for each other. After so many years and countless episodes, can we get it right for each other?Yep, we're picking watches for each other along with an accessory and a piece of clothing. First, though, we hit upon some of the releases at Watches & Wonders. The new IWC Ingenieur, the TAG Heuer Carrera Glassbox, and even the Biver debuts pieces make our discussion.Handgelenks KontrolleBefore we start picking watches for each other, we walk through the Handgelenks Kontrolle. Balazs starts things off from Bari, Italy with the Fratello × Nivada Grenchen Racing Chronograph. He's rocking the reverse panda while enjoying the heat. Mike is wearing a watch that he bought in 1994, an automatic Omega Seamaster 120m Chronometer reference 2301.21.00. Almost thirty years later, the gold bezel has turned a bronze-like color which works well with a burgundy Horween shell cordovan strap.Choosing watches for each otherWe get into our main topic by starting off with some accessories. Balazs found a cool Rimowa-like AirPods holder and thinks Mike would enjoy it as well. For Balazs, Mike recommends the iconic Chris Reeve small Sebenza 31 Plain Insingo. It's a no-nonsense tool that should last several lifetimes. For clothing, Balazs stumbled upon pieces from Felco while Mike recommends Western shirts from his favorite clothier, Double RL. When it comes to the main event, Balazs digs deep and plays to Mike's love of Japanese watches with the limited-edition Citizen "The Citizen" NC0206-18E. Mike goes old-school and feels that it's high time for Balazs to add a classic Rolex Submariner 5513 Maxi-dial to his collection. We hope you enjoyed today's episode. If you have any ideas for future episodes, please feel free to let us know!
Fratello On Air comes at you with another brand-focused episode. This week, we're talking about DOXA and the picks are a bit less diver-centric than you might think. Have a listen and hear about watches that, surprisingly, don't have a dive bezel.Yes, with the recent Synchron news, we've had our eyes on the brand that inspired the watch. DOXA is in play this week and it's a company we both genuinely enjoy. If you're a fan, perhaps you'll already know our picks. If not, at least one of these might serve as a low-cost way of getting one on your wrist!Handgelenks KontrolleThe Handgelenks Kontrolle is properly on point this week as both Balazs and Mike are sporting DOXA 300's. Balazs is wearing his early generation 300 Sharkhunter with US Divers logo on the dial. His is differentiated by its pre-Synchron dial, sailboat case back, and screw-down crown. Mike is sporting his early ‘70s Synchron-era 300 Sharkhunter. His lacks a screw-down crown and was found in Israel where it seems to have lived the life of a real dive watch. DOXAAs mentioned, DOXA is a real favorite of both of ours. While we don't own many models from the company, we're constantly looking and considering more for our collections. We each decided to pick two pieces that we find interesting from the brand and as usual, Balazs makes some funkier choices. We discuss:Sfygmos pulsations chronograph, a unique DOXA with a mono-pusher Valjoux 23 and a crazy magnifying crystalThe 300T Divingstar, a notable version due to its relative rarity and vivid yellow dialDOXA Conquistador, a watch in the same vein as a ‘70s Omega Seamaster, but far more affordableThe original 1967 300 Searambler, a watch that is among the most desirable from the brandWe hope you enjoyed our show today and thanks for listening! If you have ideas for topics, feel free to let us know.
The Omega Seamaster 300M No Time to Die 007 Edition is the most interesting dive watch I've worn. The Seamaster 300 line has sixty-five years of history, a relationship with James Bond and despite the measurements on paper fits slim wrists well. I get into all these topics in this episode, and explain why this version of the Bond watch works for slim wrists. For show notes, check out https://www.the36mm.com/
In this episode George is joined by Tom Howard, Founder of The Gentleman Racer and the brand new Clubhouse 400 as they discuss the Bremont S300 White, OMEGA “Goldeneye” Seamaster 300M Quartz and Heuer Silverstone as well as Tom's new venture, Clubhouse 400, which launched this week.
Too Many Steel Sports Models? What's The Best Watch Case Material? Plus The Norqain Wild ONE And Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep With Sylvain Berneron from BreitlingFor this episode ofaBlogtoWatch Weekly, everyone has returned from their recent travels, so it's back to our usual trio of hosts with Ariel, Rick, and David, who are joined by Sylvain Berneron, the Creative Director at Breitling. To kick off the show, our hosts briefly discuss Ariel's trip with Norqain and David's experience at an Omega event last week, where they didn't show the new Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer but rather only had the novelties that were presented several months ago. From there, it's a deep dive into stainless steel sports watches as a response to an opinion article written by David, in which he argues that there are simply too many steel sports models when the material itself has inherent shortcomings. Our hosts discuss how the greater meaning of a stainless steel sports watch has changed over the years, along with all of the various pros and cons of the material itself, before Sylvain remarks that stainless steel is a perfectly Swiss material since it's the perfect compromise between a number of different aesthetic and functional attributes. After discussing all things related to stainless steel, a question from Rick about strap material choices turns the conversation to titanium. Sylvain offers some insight about the different grades of titanium that are used in watchmaking, how they differ from each other, and why grade 2 is his personal favorite. After discussing two of the most utilitarian metals used in watchmaking, our hosts then take the opportunity to talk about the Norqain Wild ONE, which is a new sports watch that features a case largely not made from metal at all. After breaking down its unique shock-absorbing design and analyzing its placement within the greater industry, our hosts then turn their attention to the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep, and whether or not it is a good thing that it offers an absolutely massive depth rating yet doesn't look like a piece of highly specialized dive equipment. After Sylvain reveals the specific depth that will more-or-less crush a person and how most of today's dive watches are already more than capable of surviving it, our hosts wrap up the show by talking about how watches like the Omega Ultra Deep can often serve as ways for brands to showcase their technologies and explore a design language in a manner that often has widespread appeal outside of just the collector and enthusiast space.Show Notes3:43https://www.ablogtowatch.com/omega-unveils-the-speedmaster-x-33-marstimer-watch/9:20https://www.ablogtowatch.com/grinding-gears-do-we-really-need-this-many-steel-bracelet-sports-watches/29:27https://www.ablogtowatch.com/norqain-jean-claude-biver-launch-shock-absorbent-independence-wild-one-watches/43:13https://www.ablogtowatch.com/hands-on-omega-seamaster-planet-ocean-6000m-ultra-deep-watch/aBlogtoWatch launched the first-ever podcast about watches back in 2010 and continues to be the most referenced and respected publication for watch enthusiasts, buyers, and collectors in the world. For this episode of Hodinkee Radio, I asked Danny to come on the show to talk about a couple of his latest projects, including his recent A Week On The Wrist with an updated but still old-school Omega and his excellent Talking Watches with Aly and AJ. We get into the many forms that the Seamaster has taken over the years, a breakdown of the new 300, some of our favorite references, and a behind-the-scenes chat about making a great episode of Talking Watches. Thanks so much for listening. Please note that this is the final episode before the show takes a short break for the remainder of the summer. We'll be back in early September with a brand new collection of fun and interesting conversations from the world of watches. Chat to you then. We're back with more block rockin' beats — errrr, talk! Balazs and Mike return (quickly) to talk about vintage watch opportunities in 2022. If you love the old stuff and are looking for value, tune in and relax! That's right, the dastardly duo of Balazs and Mike are back and we return to one of our favorite subjects: the vintage watch market and where to find opportunities. As we know, there's little out there that hasn't been uncovered. However, that doesn't mean that value doesn't exist. There's no highfalutin talk during this podcast, so your trust funds are safe!Vintage watch picks for 2022After a bit of a "Handgelenks Kontrolle," we head off into our vintage watch picks for 2022. Balazs talks about Angelus, the Certina DS, and even the ubiquitous 7750 (respect due for this nearly 50-year-old movement!). Mike brings up '60s Omega Seamaster models with fat lugs, 34-36mm Rolex such as the 6694 Precision, and (gasp!) '90s IWC.As always, thanks for tuning in to Fratello On Air! If you have any thoughts on what you'd like to hear next, feel free to let us know!

The 2021 Omega Seamaster 300 presents a very new face to a historically-unsuccessful model in Omega's collection. By dropping its ceramic bezel and adopting a more old-fashioned style, this new version gives a different attitude and feel to the collection whilst a model in Bronze-Gold offers a unique alternative to steel. #omegawatches #omegaseamaster #jamesbondwatch To get a discount on CHRONEXT and to support WATCH CHRONICLER, use this discount code: WATCHCHRONICLER Follow this link to see CHRONEXT’s full range of watches: http://chronext.co.uk/?utm_source=watchchronicler&utm_medium=influencer&utm_campaign=post&utm_keyword=watchchronicler Read full articles and listen to podcasts at www.watchchronicler.com For any questions or business enquiries, please email me at: enquiries@watchchronicler.com For horological photography, follow me on Instagram at: watch_chronicler Music: www.purple-planet.com

This week, Spence, Spangler, and Buzz discuss Watches We Would Want (if they would just change one thing!). We hinted at it last week with Zach, but there are several watches which we love, but once we see one minor detail, we can't unsee it. Whether it has to do with the slightly awkward fit of the Hamilton Intramatic Chrono (a fine watch we all love), the thickness of the Omega Seamaster 300 (a classic vintage looking diver that is on our list), or the presence of EIGHT 5s (yes, EIGHT!) on the Rolex AirKing. Obviously, in this discussion we have our Rolex Rant, Omega Opinion, and Hamilton Hootenanny. We also feature the weekly Fresh Forum Finds and wrist/drink check! Check it out and enjoy!

Join us for this week's news in the world of Horology. We discuss the new Omega 321, a Rolex customizer get sued and ETA get in trouble with Swiss competition commission. Kris talked about the "brown" faux lume on the current Omega Seamaster 300 - https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/watches/seamaster/seamaster-300/product and how it's darker than some vintage Seamaster 300's from the 60's - https://blog.omegaforums.net/post/123038925901/vintage-omega-seamaster-300-diver-in-stainless No longer available homage from MKII, the project 300 - https://www.mkiiwatches.com/project-300 Check out the CWC version. With the heavy media focus on the Moonwatch and the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 this year, you could be forgiven for thinking that Omega produce nothing but manual wind chronographs, and that the only exploration they have been involved with required rockets and spacesuits. Equally, glancing at the ongoing surge in vintage, and limited edition modern Speedmaster prices, it seems that some collectors feel that if it wasn’t on the wrist of Aldrin, Armstrong, or Collins (or related to a watch they wore), that it’s not really worth hunting down. Pure lunacy. Today’s guest has pushed through the Moonwatch phase of his collecting madness, and donned mask, flippers, and snorkel, to explore the depths of Omega’s vast vintage catalogue. His focus pulled from Omega watches that splashed down into the ocean on the wrists of engineers, scientists and explorers, to Omega watches that went deep under the oceans surface on the wrists of engineers, scientists, and explorers. Horological tools that couldn’t be more different. Although those cases do look incredibly similar...
This week, we're speaking with "Vertical Horizon" frontman and friend of the show Matt Scannell. He's joined by an all-star panel of HODINKEE editors featuring Cara Barrett, James Stacey, and host Stephen Pulvirent. Mike doesn’t like his neighbors… so don’t ask him if you can borrow his toilet plunger. Also, do you like podcast interruptions? Barking dogs? Jangling little kitty cats? Yeah? Well, you’ll love this episode! Kaz also finds a new home in a pile of cardboard boxes. The guys then derail the discussion a bit and talk about those weird Arnold Schwarzenegger watches that came out a few years back. Plus, we get a quick Rivkah Watches update, Mike has a new diver in for review, and the snobs finally announce the WINNER of the Seiko SKX007 giveaway! Finally, Mike sends out a very special watch to get serviced and the guys talk about what goes into choosing your watch servicing center. Is it better to go through the brand directly? Do you prefer going with someone local and independent? Listen in and tell the snobs what you think! The dog is barking, the cats are jumping into the 3D printer, Kaz and Mike forget the fundamentals of the English language, and the snobs share some juicy details behind their latest watch giveaway contest. Listen in! It’s the episode 30 bonanza!!! Kaz and Mike both have new watches + soda has all of of your basic food groups. Trust these guys. They’re starving and dehydrated. Mike regretfully suggests a Triple X movie marathon (it definitely sounds as awful as you think it does) and the conversation takes a turn for the worse. Thanks to @ea8 for clarifying some of the details behind Mil-Spec watch features and the all-important “crown dig” conundrum. Should Kaz pick up a firearm? Finally, the Two Broke Watch Snobs talk about watches in movies, TV shows, video games, and books. This episode gets, a little wild. It’s finally here! The site, www.twobrokewatchsnobs.com is now live so check it out! Kaz discovers the official #watchfam mating call in an awkward elevator encounter, Mike is severely wounded, and Kaz reluctantly takes up a new challenge. The guys then discuss the difficulties associated with starting up a watch-focused website while venting and sharing a few things they find disappointing in watch journalism today. Remember, the site has been put together for you guys! So, in these very early stages, write in and share what you’d like to see by contacting the snobs at TBWS.Contact@gmail.com. Finally, Mike shares a few stories from his recent weekend in Vegas and finds that it’s an incredible city for watch-window shopping and watch spotting. From a welcoming experience at an Audemars Piguet boutique to nearly fainting at the sight of an RM 010, and drooling over watches that are just waaaaay too expensive, Mike reflects on a weekend packed with watch-nerdery.
