The Florida adventure is in the rear view mirror but I have so many lessons learned from this trip… and I'll share a bunch of them with you here on the takeaways edition to close out the trip. Hold the date… Pedalshift 400 Live will be Friday April 11th at 8pm ET - 5pm PT. Check out Pedlashift on YouTube or pedalshift.net/live for more. Ask Me Anything for sure, the rest is a surprise maybe to me as well? Takeaways from the Jacksonville-to-Orlando Bike Tour Day 1 (Jacksonville to St. Augustine) 1. A Ferry Ride to Kick Things Off – The journey began with a ferry ride across the St. Johns River, adding a scenic and unique element right from the start. Incorporating ferries into bike tours always makes for an enjoyable experience. 2. Gate Code Saves the Day at Anastasia State Park – The planned shortcut to the campsite led to a locked gate, but having the code allowed access without a detour. Avoiding extra miles at the end of a long day was a major win. 3. Improvised Gear Setup on the Brompton – A key piece of the backpack-mounting system was missing, requiring an improvised fix using a monopod and zip ties. The setup held up well throughout the ride, proving that adaptability is key in bike touring.   Day 2 (St. Augustine to Flagler Beach Area) 4. Bananas Are the Best Electrolyte Solution – Instead of relying on electrolyte pills, which can cause nausea, bananas proved to be an effective way to prevent leg cramps. A simple, natural solution that made a big difference in managing hydration and muscle recovery. 5. A Route Adjustment Shortened the Day, but It Was Still Challenging – The original 57.7-mile plan changed with a 20-mile fast forward, making for a shorter but still demanding day. Even with the adjustment, Florida's heat, humidity, and terrain required careful pacing and hydration.   Day 3 (Port Orange to Rural Central Florida) 6. Headwinds and Humidity Made for a Tough Solo Ride – With no fast forward on this leg, the ride covered the full planned distance through sticky, muggy conditions. After the challenging conditions of the previous day, endurance and smart pacing were crucial to finishing strong. 7. Road Noise at Campgrounds Was a Constant Issue – Unlike remote wilderness bike tours, the campgrounds on this route were consistently noisy, with traffic sounds carrying late into the night. Sleeping conditions were impacted by a combination of humidity and the urban-adjacent settings.   Day 4 (Final Push to Disney) 8. A Pre-Dawn Start Took Advantage of Cooler Temperatures – The ride began at 6:15 AM, allowing for several miles before the sun and heat became overwhelming. The early start also meant less traffic and a peaceful stretch along the trail. 9. A Fast Forward to Winter Garden Allowed for New Route Exploration – Instead of repeating a previously ridden portion of the Florida Coast-to-Coast Trail, a fast forward brought the ride to Winter Garden, where new routes could be explored. This decision balanced efficiency with the excitement of seeing something different. 10. A Challenging Finish with More Traffic Than Expected – The final approach onto Disney property was busier than usual, making the last miles more hectic than anticipated. Despite the increased traffic, the ride concluded at the planned finish line, maintaining a long-standing tour tradition.

The 2025 Indian PowerPlus lineup has arrived, and I had the opportunity to test these bikes in the stunning landscape of Lake Las Vegas and the Valley of Fire. With an upgraded 112 cubic inch PowerPlus motor, new rider-assist technologies, and refined aerodynamics, Indian has taken their motorcycles to the next level. This review will cover the engine performance, ride quality, handling, technology, and new safety features introduced in this lineup. The New 112ci PowerPlus Engine: More Power, More Fun Indian has built upon its 108ci liquid-cooled PowerPlus engine, upgrading it to a 112ci V-twin that delivers: 126 horsepower at 5,500 RPM 133 foot-pounds of torque at 3,600 RPM 60-degree V-twin configuration Overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, and dual throttle bodies Compared to the 2023 Indian Pursuit Dark Horse I tested for a year, the 2025 PowerPlus engine offers more power and better low-end torque. The real question is how this translates to real-world performance, which I explored during the test ride. SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE First Impressions: Chieftain PowerPlus & Redesigned Fairing I was assigned the 2025 Indian Chieftain PowerPlus, and right away, the bike felt incredibly well-balanced. Despite its size, it was easy to manage, and the redesigned batwing fairing is noticeably sleeker and more aerodynamic. The new fairing design includes: Separated dual vents for better wind management More refined lower sections for improved airflow Wind tunnel-tested shape for high-speed stability While the sharknose fairing remains largely unchanged, the batwing updates make a real difference in handling and rider comfort. Riding Performance: How Does the 112 PowerPlus Feel? Once in the saddle, I could instantly feel the higher-revving nature of the PowerPlus engine. The torque kicks in at 3,600 RPM, pushing the rider back in the seat. This engine thrives in the higher RPM range, delivering a sporty, performance-driven feel. At 5,500 RPM, the bike produces 126 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful V-twin touring motors available. For those who prefer a more traditional low-end torque experience, Indian still offers the Thunderstroke air-cooled engine on select models. This gives buyers a choice between classic American cruising or high-performance touring. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! Suspension & Braking: Inverted Forks and Radial-Mounted Brembos Suspension Upgrades Front: 43mm inverted forks with 5.1 inches of travel, offering more rigidity and precision than conventional forks Rear: Fox Monoshock with 4.5 inches of travel The inverted forks provide: Less flex under braking More precise steering feedback Better handling in aggressive riding situations Braking System Dual 320mm semi-floating rotors (front) 298mm floating rotor (rear) Brembo radial-mounted calipers Radial-mounted brakes provide better rigidity and performance compared to standard axial-mounted ones, making this a high-performance touring machine. Innovative products for Harley-Davidson & Goldwing Affordable chrome, lighting, and comfort products Ciro 3D has a passion for design and innovation Rider Assist Features: New Innovations for 2025 Indian has introduced some of the most advanced rider-assist features on an American-made V-twin. These include: Standard Features ABS 6-axis IMU lean-angle detection with traction control and ABS. Drag torque control to prevent rear-wheel lockup on aggressive downshifts New for 2025 Hill Hold Control – Keeps the bike from rolling backward when stopped on an incline. Electronically Linked Braking – If the rider applies only the front or rear brake, the system automatically applies the other for better balance, stopping, and safety. Blind Spot Detection – Warns riders with mirror-mounted yellow LED indicators when a vehicle is in their blind spot. Rear Collision Warning – Alerts riders when a vehicle is following too closely and pulses the brake light to get the driver's attention. These safety features make a significant difference, particularly for riding in heavy traffic conditions. Comfort, Ergonomics, and Ride Quality The 2025 Chieftain PowerPlus offers a well-designed rider triangle, making it comfortable for long-haul rides. Stock seat: Well-padded with excellent lower back support Floorboards: Spacious and positioned well for comfortable leg placement Adjustable windscreen: Allows riders to set their preferred wind protection One ergonomic improvement Indian could consider is adjusting the brake pedal placement slightly forward for better foot positioning. Sponsor-Butt Buffer CLICK HERE Want to ride longer? Tired of a sore and achy ass? Then fix it with a high-quality Butt Buffer seat cushion? There are benefits and there is no risk. Technology & Infotainment: Ride Command System The 7-inch Ride Command system remains largely unchanged from previous Indian models, offering: GPS Navigation Bluetooth Connectivity Apple CarPlay Customizable Ride Modes (Rain, Standard, Sport) While functional, the system could use an update. Given the premium price of these bikes, a fully digital dashboard with faster processing and a smoother interface would be a welcome upgrade. Final Thoughts: A High-Performance Touring Machine After spending an entire day riding through the Valley of Fire, I can confidently say the 2025 Indian PowerPlus lineup delivers a fun, powerful, and well-engineered riding experience. What Indian Got Right More horsepower and torque than the previous 108ci motor Sleek, aerodynamic batwing and shark nose fairing Inverted forks and radial-mounted Brembo brakes Blind spot detection and rear collision warning, a first on an American V-twin Improved heat management compared to past models Areas for Improvement Ride Command system needs an update Cable clutch should be upgraded to a hydraulic system Large radar unit on the rear could be better integrated for aesthetics Who Is This Bike For? This bike is best suited for riders who want: A powerful, high-performance touring motorcycle The latest rider assist features for safety and comfort A sporty V-twin experience with high-revving power For those who prefer a traditional low-end torque cruiser, the Thunderstroke models might be a better fit. Final Verdict: Worth It? If you are looking for a modern, high-performance bagger that retains the classic Indian motorcycle charm, the 2025 PowerPlus lineup is an excellent choice. This bike delivers an exciting riding experience, blending power, comfort, and cutting-edge technology. Near Highway 1 in Port Orange, Florida there is a biker bar called The Last Resort. It's the kind of seedy little dive where people mind their own business. The name is fitting, because The Last Resort could also describe the occupation of the establishment's most famous patron. It is the World's oldest profession.  To other bargoers, she went by the name of Lee, and she had taken her spot on one of the stools more than a time or two. Lee had a boisterous personality, and was memorable to the other drinkers as well as the bartender, a big guy who went by Cannonball. The portly barkeep remembered that on the night before the shit hit the fan at The Last Resort, ole Lee had hung her bra up right on the bar. There it would stay forever. At 5812 S Ridgewood Ave in Port Orange, Florida, a sign out front reads “Home of Ice Cold Beer and Killer Women”, I am your host, JD Horror, and this is True Crime Horror Story. Today we sit down in person and talk with Dr. Natalie JeffreysNatalie is a chiropractor out of Port Orange FL where I currently live and she was introduced to me a couple months ago when I was invited to a breath work session. I right away knew Natalie was different, she was able to really tap into the moment and put on an incredible breath work session and that made me want to get adjusted by her next. Over the last 2 months Natalie has adjusted me and got me back feeling 100% for soccer and for life. Her approach is like no one else I've seen and I'm very excited to have her on today to share a little bit about her story and her approach to chiropractic care! There was a lot about the history of chiropractic care I didn't know about which was so fun to learn about! Natalie believes that with the right chiropractor you don't need tools and gadgets to adjust, if you can regulate the nervous system you barely even need to push to get an adjustment, and I have experienced this first hand. On the other side of this coin, when she does get your nervous system regulated she can really do some incredible things with her hands to adjust what needs to be adjusted. We dive into how people these days are so out of alignment with stress, technology growing, self healing through chiropractic care. We get into how you speak to yourself and how you let other speak to you can cause the body to knot up and become misaligned. And so much more! I hope you all enjoy the show and if you want to schedule your first intro session with Dr. Natalie you can click this link and book your first assessment! See you guys next week!

A Golden Pen – Mark Sias pt 3 https://amzn.to/3B0uD0S ()Mark Sias is a licensed nurse practitioner who was, to put it bluntly, working himself to death. But, one day, all of the changed.  He and his wife, Grace, authored a book titled, https://amzn.to/3B0uD0S (“A Golden Pen”) and is sharing his concepts with others. Mark is here today to share with us some of these concepts (of entrepreneurism), some great and very affordable ideas that could help you generate additional income and to share all about his book, https://amzn.to/3B0uD0S (“A Golden Pen.”) Amen! Mark & Grace Sias own and operate a small legal services & signing services business in Port Orange, Florida called https://legaldocprepnotary.com/ (Noble Notary & Legal Document Preparers). But it's not just about becoming a Notary Public. You just have to hear what Mark is about to share. This is the conclusion of a great three part interview that will bless YOU with some ideas to generate some additional income! Another area that you are in was especially interesting to me. As a retired police officer, I'm well acquainted with how to roll finger prints. That is an area that you seem really enthusiastic about in your book, https://amzn.to/3B0uD0S (“A Golden Pen.”) What kind of demand is there for “finger printing” in our society today? I really loved the live scan machine we used. It was so much better than the ink pad and cards. If you messed up on the last finger with the card, you had to start all over again. But with the Live Scan, it tells you if it is wrong and you simply reset and reroll.  In your book you mention they make portable machines now. Is that what you use? You also help folks prepare some legal documents. I always thought you had to hire a lawyer to do these things. But you provide information in your book about, “The Scrivener Exception.” What is that and how does it apply? I've had to use a mediator and an arbitrator before. Many, many years ago in a class action suit that I was part of. You also reference this in your book, https://amzn.to/3B0uD0S (“A Golden Pen.”) I was surprised in that you reference that these are not “lawyers” doing the mediation. That just about anyone can do the training and become a mediator? Is that right? I know your book, https://amzn.to/3B0uD0S (“A Golden Pen,”) has more examples in it, but I want us to get to this next part. Coaching.  That is something just about anyone can do because everyone is good at “something.” It may be anything from baking pies to quilting or golf to – becoming a notary, praise God. But the thing is, there are people out there that need help in many, many areas and they are willing to pay for the help. Am I right? There is another business I want to ask you about, “Apostille Services?”  I had never heard that term before. Can you explain what that is and why there is such a demand for these services? Mark, this has been so interesting. I could go on and on, but we are about out of time.  Your book, https://amzn.to/3B0uD0S (“A Golden Pen,”)how can someone obtain a copy of this great book? Is it on Amazon? If someone wanted to get in touch with you, to ask a question, check out your coaching program or maybe just to do an interview such as this. How can they do that? How can they get in touch with you? I'll put links to all of this down in the shown notes. Folks, as I started this program, it is so important that you are not 100% dependent on your employer to take care of you. That is called slavery. The Bible says we are to work. Yes. But it is also very, very important, to learn how to help meet the needs of others and take care of yourself and your family and help to “Get the Word Out” into all the earth at the same time. For many people, they have discovered the world of entrepreneurship. Being your own boss. Amen. I urge you to get in touch with Mark Sias today. Drop down into the show notes and reach out to Mark. Ask you questions....

This is part two of a great, three part interview, that will bless YOU with some ideas to generate some additional income and, maybe, help you move from the "9-5" job to be your own boss! What is a “Key Stone Habit” and can you share a couple of examples? What are the usual startup costs for someone interested in the Notary Business? You also help people with credit repair issues, correct?  Does this involve your notary service or is this one of those “additional income streams” we discussed a few minutes ago? How hard is it for someone to get involved in credit repair? We've heard about “credit repair scams” and things like that. How do those differ from you are helping people to do and training people to do? Mark, I'm so blessed that you are here today to share some of your success concepts with our listeners today. First question I always start with is this. Other than that brief information I just shared, can you tell us in your own words, “Who is Mark Sias?” So, let's start at the beginning. You were getting burned out working in the medical field and wanted something different. How did you decide upon a “notary business?” You have a quote that I've used often from J. Paul Getty, would you care to share it? “I'd rather have 1% of a hundred people, than 100% of one person.” As you began this business with your wife, were you really only going to focus on notary work or were there already other spin off businesses in mind? You, obviously advocate for multiple streams of income. Can  you explain for us some of the benefits of having these multiple streams of income? In your book, you make a point of saying you do not subscribe to the “Law of Attraction,” but firmly believe in the “Law of Sowing and Reaping.”  How important has your Faith been in helping you to start your own business? In your book, https://amzn.to/3B0uD0S (“A Golden Pen,”) you outline a “few basic, baby steps…” Can you share those baby steps with us? What is a “Key Stone Habit” and can you share a couple of examples? Folks, as I started this program, it is so important that you are not 100% dependent on your employer to take care of you. That is called slavery. I urge you to get in touch with Mark Sias today. Drop down into the show notes and reach out to Mark. Ask you questions. Check out his website. But you absolutely need to check out his book, https://amzn.to/3B0uD0S (“A Golden Pen.”) It contains a lot of ideas that can you implement relatively easy and affordably that could, I emphasize, COULD, because it depends on how active you are in promoting your services… they COULD make you financially self-sufficient. Hello to you listening in Port Orange, Florida!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Time Out Tuesday and your host, Diane Wyzga! We have become a most impatient lot. It used to be that we might stand in a line at the market or bank or elsewhere and be okay with that; but now we tap our foot, sigh loudly, look at our device, and wonder what's keeping me from my stuff.  It used to be that we would write a card or letter, affix a stamp, send it off in the post where it would be received by a loved one some distance away; but now that's too much. We text them: Happy Birthday. Get well. Congratulations.  It used to be that we would place a call on the phone, leave a message on the answer machine, wait for the response when it came; but now we get agitated when the person we want to speak to is not available when we want them to be.I invite you to add your own experiences here.Meanwhile, a Practical Tip: You may not be enthused about waiting, leaving a message, or breathing to lessen your impatience; but if you can agree to accept that “for now” this is the situation you are faced with, you may lessen your suffering. Identifying Your Shepherd

On Daily Faith, today, you'll hear how the Lord is our Good Shepherd, leading and guiding us along life's journeys. Even during your deepest darkest moments of pain, God is with you. No darkness can overcome His light, for Jesus is the light of the world. His light shines in the middle of the darkness, revealing the shadows, exposing the enemy's lies. In today's program, Pastor Jesse Jarvis wants to focus on the nearness of God. Psalms 23:4 says, “For You are with me.” A shepherd cares, feeds, protects his sheep; no matter how far the sheep have gone astray, the shepherd is there waiting for their return. Our heavenly Father wants to be your Good Shepherd. He wants you to know that He is with you always. He is not against you, and He will never leave you nor abandon you. Almighty God, who holds the world in His hands, holds your heart with His. We want to encourage you to identify what you need God to be in your life by asking and seeing what God does. He is your Good Shepherd. Pastor Jesse Jarvis is the Senior Pastor of Christ Church Port Orange, in Port Orange, FL. For more information about Christ Church Port Orange with Pastor Jesse Jarvis, please visit www.joinedwithjesus.org. For those who do not know, we have been rescuing abandoned, abused, and orphaned children in one of the poorest countries of Eastern Europe. Moldova has one of the highest death rates due to alcohol abuse. This tragedy leaves the families in despair, splitting up the homes where the children often end up in an orphanage. Left without hope, they are told that no one loves them in the orphanage. Once they become of age, they are forced out onto the streets with a bus ticket from where they came from. Lost and afraid, they are left to roam in the darkness, fearful of the shadows of night, subject to the false promises and misuse of the traffickers. The Orphans Hands is the heart of our outreach ministry. We have a village of homes in Moldova called Vatra Village and a house in Ukraine. We help these hopeless children discover the light of Jesus, and their hearts are being changed by the power of His love and grace. Although they have suffered a great deal of pain and loss, they can now rest in the saving arms of their Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. Our kids want to thank you for your generous support, love, and prayers. To learn more about The Orphans Hands Ministry, please visit www.theorphanshands.org.
