250203PC: It is the evening of the dayMensch Mahler am 02.03.2025Bett as tears go byBroken english. Strange Weather. Go away from my World. „The Ballad of Lucy Jordan“, machte Marianne Faithfull 1979 und 1980 schlagartig zum Weltstar. Die Sängerin und Schauspielerin ist am 30. Januar 2025 einen Monat nach ihrem 78. Geburtstag gestorben. Hook As tears go by Hosted on Acast. pWotD Episode 2831: Marianne Faithfull Welcome to Popular Wiki of the Day, spotlighting Wikipedia's most visited pages, giving you a peek into what the world is curious about today. With 482,580 views on Friday, 31 January 2025 our article of the day is Marianne Faithfull.Marianne Evelyn Gabriel Faithfull (29 December 1946 – 30 January 2025) was an English singer and actress. She achieved popularity in the 1960s with the release of her UK top 5 single "As Tears Go By" and became one of the leading female artists of the British Invasion in the United States.Born in Hampstead, London, Faithfull began her career in 1964 after attending a party for the Rolling Stones, where she was discovered by Andrew Loog Oldham. Her 1965 debut studio album Marianne Faithfull, released simultaneously with her studio album Come My Way, was a huge success and was followed by further albums on Decca Records. From 1966 to 1970 she had a highly publicised romantic relationship with Mick Jagger. Her popularity was enhanced by roles in films, including I'll Never Forget What's'isname (1967), The Girl on a Motorcycle (1968) and Hamlet (1969). But her popularity was overshadowed by personal problems in the 1970s, when she became anorexic, homeless and addicted to heroin.During her 1960s musical career, Faithfull was noted for her distinctive melodic, high-register vocals. But, in the subsequent decade, her voice was altered by severe laryngitis and persistent drug abuse, which left her sounding permanently raspy, cracked and lower in pitch. The new sound was praised as "whisky soaked" by some critics and was seen as having helped to capture the raw emotions expressed in her music. After a long absence, Faithfull made a musical comeback in 1979 with the release of a critically acclaimed seventh studio album, Broken English. The album was a commercial success and marked a resurgence of her musical career. Broken English earned Faithfull a nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance and is regarded as her "definitive recording". She followed this with a series of studio albums including Dangerous Acquaintances (1981), A Child's Adventure (1983) and Strange Weather (1987). Faithfull wrote three books about her life: Faithfull: An Autobiography (1994), Memories, Dreams & Reflections (2007) and Marianne Faithfull: A Life on Record (2014).Faithfull received the World Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2009 Women's World Awards, and in 2011 she was made a Commandeur of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the government of France. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 02:36 UTC on Saturday, 1 February 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Marianne Faithfull on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Kimberly.

Abbreviating names, the big dawg hours, and keeping it casual cool. Gabriel Fernandez (Levitation Room) "East Los Angeles quartet Levitation Room's floaty, cosmic songs are always a trip. Since forming nearly a decade ago, they've self-produced dizzying, otherworldly music that's connected with fellow travelers in the hallucinogenic world of outré rock music. Led by singer and guitarist Julian Porte along with founding members Gabriel Fernandez (lead guitar) and Johnathan Martin (percussion), the band has enchanted live audiences at Desert Daze and on tour with like-minded groups Post Animal and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. The band's vivid sound has found them placed on popular playlists like Modern Psychedelia and the legendary superproducer's Danger Mouse Jukebox. Their 2015 debut, “Friends,” has surpassed 18 million streams. Joined by new member Kevin Perez (bass) in 2021, Levitation Room have continued to expand their colorful, unearthly sound, a process that has culminated with the vibrant new album Strange Weather. Collaborating with former Brian Jonestown Massacre keyboardist Rob Campanella, Jason Kick (Mild High Club), and Black Crowes' Joel Robinow, Levitation Room take a new step in their story and vision with Strange Weather. The record's lyrical narratives—about love in the park, life in the city, and the fact that “The world today is such an illusion”—are appropriately steeped in '60s sonics and a dreamy, lo-fi atmosphere. It's spacey, celestial guitar music for escaping into, and “it feels just like heaven.” 'Strange Weather' will be released February 16, 2024" Excerpt from https://greenwayrecords.com/artist/levitation-room/ Levitation Room: Bandcamp: https://levitationroom.bandcamp.com/album/headspace Instagram: @levitation_room Website: https://levitation-room.com Records: https://greenwayrecords.com/artist/levitation-room/ Merch: https://churchofpickle.com/collections/levitation-room The Vineyard: Instagram: @thevineyardpodcast Website: https://www.thevineyardpodcast.com Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSn17dSz8kST_j_EH00O4MQ/videos

It's now common knowledge that the global food supply chain has been under attack and intentionally undermined in order for the globalists to create food shortages, poverty, and civil chaos to further their agenda. The full impact of the convid manipulations and the supply chain disruptions is yet to be fully felt, so it's not too late to start adapting to the "interesting" times we'll be living in over the next few years. To help you make those adaptations (if you haven't already), I'm honoured to welcome Marjory Wildcraft to the show as both a guest and our new show sponsor. Marjory is the female leader of the Survival and Preparedness movement. In 2009 she founded The Grow Network, which is a community of people focused on modern self-sufficient living, but has been growing her own food - and helping others do the same - for 20 years now. Marjory digs into which countries and cities have been hit by food shortages already, food riots and protests, the strange weather of late, the poisoning of Ohio, Agenda 2030, crop failures, Russia's and Ukraine's role in supplying the world's food, the Hunga-Tonga-Hunga-Ha'apai volcano eruption on 15 January 2022, the ozone hole, Snap payments in America, and of course, how to adapt to our uncertain times by growing massive amounts of your own food in a very small space, even if you have no experience. She also shares other strategies and tips for making it through this decade unscathed - don't miss it. Special Guest: Marjory Wildcraft.

Sean Brennan is my friend and collaborator, an incredible musician, and the editor of this podcast. And today I'm bringing him in front of the mic to share with us about his creative process. A lot of us have been taught that being creative and making art requires diligence and routine. Sean's here to argue that routine can often be the enemy of creativity. So instead, what can you do today to mix things up? To change your perspective? I'll say, this is all stuff I really needed to hear! And for a special treat, listen all the way to the end of the episode and you'll get to hear the latest song from his band Strange Weather.

Joe Hill was born with the name Joseph King: he's the son of legendary author Stephen King. But Joe writes under the last name “Hill” out of a desire to succeed on his own merits. Now he's recognized as one of today's best horror writers. Hill is a New York Times #1 best-selling author whose novels include NOS4A2, Horns, Heart-Shaped Box and The Fireman. His latest book is Strange Weather, which is made up of four short novels. Joe talks this hour with fellow author (and native Michigander) Loren Estleman, who is best known for a series of crime novels featuring the investigator Amos Walker. Joe started off talking about and reading from one of the stories from Strange Weather. This event took place at the City Opera House in downtown Traverse City in October 2018. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/nationalwritersseries/message

It´s all over now eftir Bob Dylan er þarna en hún gaf það áður út 1985. Sorrow. Við heyrum líka í þættinum nýja músík frá td. Hozier, Vampire Weekend, Dido, Florence and the Machine, Bryan Adams og Ryan Adams.
