Ep 105 Are you over it? How do you know? This solocast gets a little personal as I share my perspective on “Deal with it,” “Get Over it,” and Suck it up, buttercup.” These are the common phrases we hear or tell ourselves and it made me wonder, is this a good thing? When Bessel van der Kolk wrote The Body Keeps the Score, the research shows that our body and cells hold onto deep emotional wounds. But, far too often, we stuff it all down. What happens then? Illness, disease, and pain - all the ways our body communicates with us. Recently, I experienced a DEEP emotional (Somato-Emotional, Body, Mind) release with a trusted Craniosacral Therapist from the Upledger Institute. This is a therapy modality of soft-tissue release that I have also practiced for almost 20 years. Be sure to ask your therapist when they last sought a treatment session. A skilled therapist will tell you that they are also committed to receiving treatments too. The giver needs to also release and re-balance themselves. What are you holding onto and is it serving your body, mind, and life? Is it better to get over it, or to shift into feeling and processing the emotion? Ep 102 - 100th Episode Celebration Part 2; Can You (Really) Feel the LOVE? In Ep 100, I started you out on the humility journey, and I wanted to make sure I shared more. I have felt love in my love - the love of a parent, a child, a sibling, a dear friend… Sometimes - love is all you need, perhaps even all you desire, and occasionally, love just is not enough. In February, there is a LOT of talk about love, pink and red roses, chocolate, ok we can't fault chocolate for getting dragged into a self-limiting belief of the construct of the marketing extravaganza (known as Valentine's Day). Chocolate is good and does not need to be limited to Feb 14th. Personally, I believe we can and should bring love to the important people in our lives every single day. Am I alone in this? How to TRULY Feel the Love in Your Life In this Episode, Hillary will discuss: Ask yourself - why am I eating/drinking/doing THIS right now? Is there an emotion I am trying to NUMB instead of feel and let it flow through its course? --------------------------------------------------- What Hill learned about… loving myself in 2023 The ONE best step you should take to feel more love in your life… Get outside 20 minutes/day - UNPLUGGED Or, I have another option for you. Ep 100 - Celebrate 100th Episode Part 1 Well, I am thrilled and a little embarrassed all at once. I released Ep 101 BEFORE 100! Oh well, another notch in my humility belt. What are you celebrating and why? Is it hard to pause to acknowledge a small or big step towards progress? What about without alcohol or junk food? Imagine you are feeling good, strong, confident, and competent… CELEBRATE! How would facing that fear and getting unstuck feel? What would your future self say to your present self? Take time to rest, slow down, and recognize those accomplishments! We get ONE life! ------------------------------------------------ In Episode 102 Celebration Part 2, Hillary will discuss: Ask yourself - why am I eating/drinking/doing THIS right now? Ep 88. Dedicated to the NCSSM Class of 1988. Women support women in a lot of ways. As we wrap up ADHD and Menopause Awareness Month, I wanted to share a personal experience at my 35th high school reunion. Have you ever attended a class reunion? Middle School, High School or College? There is a lot of thought that goes into planning and attending a reunion. And then there is the fear, who will show up or will they recognize me? It takes courage to show up and be ourselves. We may wonder if others are more successful or happier than we are? The great thing about getting older, is that the majority of people do grow up and just want you to be happy in life as well. Give it a try. Show up for yourself and for the person who thought you were very cool in life. You will learn about accepting the greater challenge, the NCSSM motto (North Carolina School of Science and Math). And after 40, sometimes the greater challenge is showing up or setting healthy boundaries. At the end, I share encouragement I wrote to a dear friend - if you need to hear that you are worthy regardless of your performance, perfection, or expectations of others, be sure to listen until the end. Here's to finding your unicorn in life, your greatest purpose, with roots to remember the past, but wings to fly into what is next for you. What feeds your soul and passion? Thank you to Julie, Anja, Emily and all those who created an amazing experience, a true labor of love for 1/3 of our graduating class to attend.

Ep 58 What is your greatest fear? Snakes, heights, losing a loved one, failure, speaking in public or something else? Well, I'm back and facing my fear! I took a few month off and realized that some people were catching up on missed episodes. Fear of perfection had me frozen for a while. Plus, I was migrating my website to Systeme.io, rebranding with new fonts, colors, and a logo and combining websites and FB pages. So, by hiatus, I do not mean I was on a break, but I was busy with a lot of other stuff. I will become more brave with every step forward. If we wait for the brave to come first, the chances are TOO great to stay stuck and frozen. In Season 4, I am focusing on what midlife women are doing to get unstuck and move forward with new dreams, passions, and starting new chapters in their lives. The next series will be meeting founding members, learning their Why behind what they are doing and how you can reach out to them. hillarybaggett.com WomensMidlifeNetwork.com Communitybloom.org
