MDJ Script/ Top Stories for May 14th               Publish Date:  May 14th              Commercial: From the Ingles Studio, Welcome to the Marietta Daily Journal Podcast.    Today is Tuesday, May 14th, and Happy 79th Birthday to director George Lucas. ***05.14.24 – BIRTHDAY – GEORGE LUCAS*** I'm Dan Radcliffe and here are the stories Cobb is talking about, presented by Credit Union of Georgia.  6 More Arrested for Fight That Left 19-Year-Old Dead Former Facebook and Nike Diversity Manager Gets 5 Years for Fraud Candidates Sound Off on Wildman's Civil War Store   All of this and more is coming up on the Marietta Daily Journal Podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen and subscribe!    BREAK: CUofGA STORY 1: 6 More Arrested for Fight That Left 19-Year-Old Dead Six additional men have been arrested in connection with a fatal fight in a Powder Springs subdivision that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Fabrice Robelin. The altercation occurred after a dispute, initiated by text messages, led to a physical confrontation at the Lost Lakes subdivision. Coledye Warnock, the brother of one of the arrested men, is accused of fatally shooting Robelin during the altercation. According to witness statements, the fight ensued between multiple individuals, leading to Robelin being shot. Warnock and others fled the scene, with Warnock later arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault, and other offenses. The other six men face charges of fighting and disorderly conduct, with one also charged with obstructing law enforcement. Robelin was pronounced dead at the scene, and investigations are ongoing. STORY 2: Former Facebook and Nike Diversity Manager Gets 5 Years for Fraud Barbara Furlow-Smiles, a former diversity program manager at Facebook and Nike, has been sentenced to five years in federal prison for orchestrating a complex wire fraud scheme aimed at stealing over $5 million. Furlow-Smiles exploited her position at Facebook to manipulate invoices and payments, directing fraudulent proceeds to herself and associates. She continued the scheme at Nike after being fired from Facebook, using similar tactics to siphon funds. Furlow-Smiles recruited various individuals, including friends and family, to participate in the scheme. She used the stolen funds to finance a lavish lifestyle across multiple states. Furlow-Smiles was sentenced to prison and ordered to pay restitution to Facebook and Nike. STORY 3: Candidates Sound Off on Wildman's Civil War Store Wildman's, a longstanding store in downtown Kennesaw known for controversial merchandise, has sparked debate among candidates in the upcoming city council election. The store, featuring Confederate and Nazi memorabilia, has divided opinions, with some calling for its removal and others emphasizing free speech rights. Councilwoman Madelyn Orochena campaigned on removing the store, while candidates Ben Day and Beatrice Shakal expressed moral opposition. However, some candidates prioritize other city issues, such as development and public safety. While acknowledging concerns about Wildman's, candidates emphasize the importance of upholding First Amendment rights and engaging in constructive dialogue rather than bullying tactics. The controversy surrounding Wildman's underscores broader discussions about community values and inclusivity in Kennesaw. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. They argued that taxpayer money should be spent on projects, not events, and raised concerns about accountability issues within the organization. While Richardson defended the gala as a celebration of sustainability efforts, Birrell and Gambrill called for greater transparency in event funding and suggested hosting county events in more cost-effective venues. Chairwoman Cupid noted the lack of available county facilities for events like her State of the County address, which prompted the discussion on event spending. The commission plans to revisit the issue at their next meeting. STORY 5: Drayton Leads Fundraising in Cobb Superior Court Clerk Race In the race for Cobb Superior Court clerk, Democratic challenger Brunessa Drayton has outpaced incumbent Connie Taylor in fundraising, raising nearly $14,000 in the latest reporting period and totaling $31,605 overall, compared to Taylor's $16,900. Drayton's support spans nationally, with notable contributions from Georgia figures like Rep. Terry Cummings and Austell Police Chief Scott Hamilton. Taylor received donations from figures like former Gov. Roy Barnes' law firm and former Cobb NAACP President Deane Bonner. Carole Melton, a bailiff, raised $4,700 this period, with support from various legal professionals. Nick Simpson raised $7,530, mostly spent, while Deborah Dance, the sole Republican candidate, hasn't reported significant fundraising. The primary is on May 21. We'll be back in a moment   Break: INGLES 10 STORY 6: Cobb Chamber Names Yalo Small Business of the Year Yalo, a minority-owned creative agency, was named the 2024 Small Business of the Year by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce. Known for branding and advertising, Yalo saw impressive growth, making the Inc. 5000 list with 151% revenue growth. They added 12 new clients in 2023, reaching $10.6 million in revenue. The award recognizes Yalo's unique approach and results. They will compete at the state level. The chamber also honored other businesses, including CDH Partners in the Small Business Hall of Fame, Perfect Image as Minority-Owned Business of the Year, FruTea Bubbles Café as Woman-Owned Business of the Year, 1885 Grill and the Alley Stage for Community Service Excellence, Wasserman Talent Solutions as Business to Watch, and AquaGuard for Next Level of Excellence. STORY 7: Civil Rights Complaint Filed Against Cobb Schools The Cobb County School District faces a complaint filed with the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights alleging "discriminatory censorship" in its book-banning practices. The complaint, filed by the National Women's Law Center, asserts that Cobb, along with a Florida district, targeted books by and about racial and LGBTQ+ minorities. Cobb removed 25 books from libraries since August, with several featuring LGBTQ+ or racial minority characters or authors. The complaint claims this violates Title IX and Title VI, creating a hostile environment for marginalized students. Superintendent Chris Ragsdale denied targeting specific groups, citing sexually explicit content as the reason for removals. The Cobb Board of Education plans to review the complaint. This follows a previous civil rights complaint regarding "shared ancestry." Break:   Signoff-   Thanks again for hanging out with us on today's Marietta Daily Journal Podcast. Hey Buddy with Jack Burke

Ben Day is an Australian ex-pro cyclist, a former coach at the men's world tour team Jayco Alula and the current coach for American Magic, the America's cup yacht racing team where he trains Cyclors (big guys riding bikes on the boat to power the boat) to push 500W + for 20-30min races. So much incredible training information in this episode.  If you love this and want more go to https://howtobecomeaprocyclist.com

The physical demands of cyclists and cyclors take center stage in this episode of the CoachCast. Ben Day, a retired pro cyclist and head performance coach of the American Magic team, shares his insights on his transition from pro cycling to yacht racing and the advent of cyclors crewing race boats.  Cyclors, using their lower-body strength, can produce 30-40% more power than arm grinders, making them more efficient in manipulating sail shapes and setting up the boat for optimal performance. The evolving rules of the America's Cup have opened the door to the importance of cyclists and the physical abilities they bring to the table.  Learn how absolute power is the key to a great cyclor, and the concerns of watts per kilogram, so critical to World Tour riders, do not apply. Churning out 450 watts for nearly 20 minutes is the baseline for any cyclist or rower looking to take on racing boats skimming the water's surface at 100 kph. Ben and Dirk also examine the training and nutrition it takes to develop and maintain these efforts to claim the trophy of the oldest international competition still operating.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is Sony Picture Animation's biggest financial success to date. Spider-Verse 2 has almost doubled the global box office of the initial Oscar-winning film.    Movie pundits say 2018's Into the Spider-Verse run on Netflix helped this unique take on the Spider-Man story, grow a large cult following leading to this current film's winning box office. Vulture.com interviewed 4 of the animators who worked on this sequel and said it was a demanding production—working upwards of 11-hour days, up to 100 artists quitting throughout, and having to start from scratch five times due to pandemic-related starts/stops and editorial issues with Phil Lord. My thoughts; it was my favorite theatrical release of June 2023, over several other notable franchises, including Transformers, The Flash, and Indiana Jones.   It made me yearn for more big-budget, superhero, animated films. Visually I noticed it more in this movie than in the first; the mixing of the art styles is incredible-a comic book come to life.    Examples include the scene in the third act when Gwen talks to her father; the background turns into these pastel-like colors. Spider-Punk is introduced, and his appearance is in a style of a collage alphabet often associated with the punk scene. Shading on Miles's face using Ben-Day dots to convey a dramatic scene.    The Spot monologuing and stick figure artwork present in his design.  Once upon a time, I had aspirations of wanting to illustrate comics. I bought 'How to Draw Comics The Marvel Way' by Stan Lee and John Buscema.   I spent hours drawing what I was learning from that book. This film is a love letter to comic book art, which took me back to those days. Other notes-anytime you throw in moms and dads relating to their children and kids wanting their parent's support, I get emotional, which happened several times.    I loved the integration of the past live-action Spider films where you see clips of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Mcguire's turns as Peter Parker, which was unexpected and made these Spider-Verse stories part of the overall Sony Spider-Man universe.    Fast action and, as the first film, contemporary, especially with its Hip-Hop influence and style.   Characters such as Miguel O'Hara's Spider-Man 2099, a motorcycling Spider-Woman, and Pravit Prabhakar were intriguing.   Potential TV and movie spin-offs?   I am here for it. My criticisms-Across the Spider-Verse felt longer than it had to be.   It did what 20 years ago, Peter Jackson's LOTR Return of the King, did and had multiple endings.   It kept going on and on. There should also be an epilepsy warning. The flashing lights and colors might be triggering. This animated lane is a fantastic way to tell this Miles Morales story. Preferably he stays here and does not come into live action, but with the popularity of this character, it is inevitable.  9 out of 10 for me. Thoughts? Comments? 2013 was a big year -- we had just survived 2012 (the year the Mayans thought the world was going to end), we were all doing the Harlem Shake on Vine, and -- most importantly -- our regular co-host Ben Day became the Executive Director of Healthcare NOW, the nation's leading Medicare for All advocacy organization. In this episode, Gillian interviews Ben about the past decade in the movement for healthcare justice, revisiting the highs, the lows, and the weird in-between shit! Like a lot of folks, Ben Day began his journey to Medicare for All activism as a patient. He was a graduate student in Labor Studies in his 20s when he developed a panic disorder that put him in the hospital and racked up his medical bills. He was so outraged by the experience of getting hung out to dry by the for-profit healthcare system that he decided to change course and spend his life fighting to bring down the system! Back in 2006, when Ben started as an organizer with Mass-Care, the Massachusetts campaign for Single-Payer Healthcare (This was before the term Medicare for All was commonplace in public discourse.), Massachusetts had just passed "Romneycare," a package of healthcare reform laws that became the model for the Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare"), so Ben got a preview of how trying to reform the system without eliminating the private insurance companies can go VERY wrong, resulting in limited networks and other industry tricks to keep profits high. Of course, even with that insight into how reform unfolded in Massachusetts, Ben and other single-payer healthcare activists were marginalized and dismissed as naive radicals throughout the years of debate leading up to the 2010 Affordable Care Act, as moderate Democrats consolidated their efforts into demanding the policy non-solution that refuses to die: the public option. That ended badly both for advocates of the public option and advocates of Medicare for All, who lost out in the final version of the bill, but it was a positive development for private insurers, who now had millions of new customers lining up at their doors! By the time Ben came to work for Healthcare NOW in 2013, the whole country was mired in the backlash from right wing Republicans fighting tooth-and-nail to "repeal and replace" the Affordable Care Act, which had become a political symbol of the Obama administration. Ben explains that this was a turning point for the healthcare justice movement, as regular people who hadn't been involved with politics before stood up at town halls and listening sessions across the country, not just to defend the ACA, but to push legislators further and demand Medicare for All. Since then, we've seen massive growth in support for Medicare for All, and thanks in-part to Bernie Sanders, Medicare for All has been the top issue in the past two presidential elections, and Healthcare NOW is working with thousands of activists throughout the US to make Medicare for All a reality in our lifetimes. Ben speculates that even though we still have a fight on our hands to win, there are enough of us now that we won't be marginalized or dismissed in the debate about healthcare ever again! Want to help us celebrate Ben's 10-year anniversary and make sure we get Medicare for All in a timely fashion so he doesn't have to do this job for another 10 years? The 2022 midterm elections are MOSTLY in the books - thank again Georgia, for the endless run-offs that keep on giving, every two years it seems like. You've heard the national narrative: Democrats did surprisingly well, given how parties in power usually take big losses during the mid-terms, and particularly when Biden has such low approval numbers. Today we'll talk about how healthcare did on Election Day, and how the fight over Medicare for All within the Democratic Party affected those results. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuqxhi7mGtU Show Notes First the good news, some wins on single payer healthcare ballot measures: Oregon: voters approve Measure 111, a constitutional amendment enshrining access to affordable healthcare as a fundamental right. Oregon is now the first state with a constitutional obligation to provide healthcare to constituents. The amendment states that Oregon is obligated to "ensure every resident has access to cost-effective, clinically appropriate and affordable health care as a fundamental right,” but not does define what health care access looks like or how the state will fund it. South Dakota: voters approve Constitutional Amendment D, expanding Medicaid eligibility under the ACA, covering 45,000 more South Dakotans. Anybody in making less than 133 percent of the federal poverty level (about $18,000 for an individual or $36,900 for a family of four) would now qualify for Medicaid coverage. There were 12 states left that had not expanded Medicaid - and now there are 11! South Dakota is the seventh state to approve Medicaid expansion via the popular vote. (Medicaid Expansion has passed all seven times.) Some experts predict a slow rollout/implementation similar to that seen in Missouri. Arizona: voters approve Proposition 209, or the Predatory Debt Collection Act, which cuts down on interest rates on medical debt and increases the amount of assets protected from creditors. The average Arizonan with medical debt has $1,903 in collections and while 20% of white Arizonans have medical debt in collections, that number for communities of color is much higher at 39%. In Arizona, interest rates for medical debt increase by as much as 10% each year - this legislation caps the interest rate at 3%. It also protects homes, household furnishings, vehicles and bank accounts from collections or forced sale. Run by Healthcare Rising Arizona, a grassroots, labor-backed organization, this law is the first of its kind. Of course the interest groups backed by collection agencies launched a legal challenge against the ballot initiative. Sadly for them, it failed. The proposition passed by with 75% support. While it doesn't address the main issue of high medical costs, the new law will provide real relief to people struggling with medical bills. Massachusetts: a non-binding ballot policy question in favor of M4A passes in 20 state house districts. Our friends at MassCare put single-payer on the ballot, instructing state representatives to support Medicare for All. The question passed in all 20 districts. Most states don't have this tool; it doesn't require the legislator to sponsor a bill, but it can be an effective pressure tool for legislators who aren't supporters of M4A yet. Great work by our comrades at MassCare, especially former Healthcare-NOW Communications Director/current Executive Director Stephanie Nakajima. Our own Ben Day organized around this question in his own neighborhood. He found talking to voters about this ballot measure was a great way to bring new people into the movement and hear new stories about the healthcare system. The question passed by over 77% in his district, so good job, Ben! The Pros of Ballot Questions: when you put something popular like Medicare for All to a vote, you win! However, passing and implementing ballot initiatives require deep, heavy duty organizing, and a lot of follow up.

Ben had graduated with his degree in 2017 and worked part-time for a local music guy, which was great until music turned out to be not very lucrative. After getting hooked by a Facebook ad, Ben decided to check out a great course that helped him launch his bookkeeping business. [3:00] 99% of what Ben focuses on is real estate. Oklahoma has a growing real estate market so it made a lot of sense to niche down. [5:20] Ben spent around 6 hours per day networking and connecting with various professionals in the market, specifically meetup.com, and that time evolved into those people asking Ben to help them with their books. [7:00] Take it slow, ask questions, engage and offer value before you ask for money. [8:05] Ben formed his business in a way that facilitated a freedom lifestyle. He found that building a virtual business is more of a challenge but is totally worth it. [10:20] Fear setting is one of the major challenges that Ben has overcome in growing his business. Every day he finds new fears around talking to people and seeing what he can do to conquer them. [11:45] Understanding when to upgrade the conversation after offering value is a particularly tricky subject. [12:10] Fear is the number one impediment in not getting the life that you want. [12:50] Ben considers himself an introvert but has learned how to turn it on when necessary. There is nothing easy or attractive to the process, you walk up to someone, shake their hand and say something. Then you rinse and repeat that process. [14:50] Nothing makes you feel quite like a rockstar than providing value to someone and them saying “this is the best thing I've ever had, I'm going to tell everyone about you.” Knowing you're doing a good job does wonders for your business. [16:20] Ben's business is a one-man show other than his marketing and web design. He also has coaches and mentors that help him out as well. Entrepreneurship is incredibly lonely and having good people around you is vital. [18:10] Entrepreneurs wear too many hats and are afraid of taking time off, and that feeling becomes very real when they begin to scale. [20:30] Ben's challenge is in pre-qualifying leads. There is a huge difference between telling someone how to do something and being paid to do it for them. [21:50] Conversations and communication is where most things fall apart. Real estate is especially tricky for this because of differing definitions of the term “transaction”. [23:50] When you don't have to take on more clients to cover your costs, you can be more selective about the clients you work with. [24:40] There are four components to scale, there is Strategy, Team, Execution, and Profitability. [27:00] Make your prospects work to see you. Once you have clients, you want new clients to vet themselves for you. Marketing is more about repelling the people you don't want than it is attracting the people you do want. [29:30] List out all of the things you want to know before talking with someone. What does your perfect client look like? Most of us are people pleasers, you need to make your clients work for it so you don't waste their time or yours. [32:25] Creating a qualifying funnel is a great way to establish authority in your niche as well as filter your prospects down to the right people. [36:30] Bookkeeping is a relationship business, it's not about numbers. During the interview process, you should emulate as much as possible what the workflow will be like. Never give someone a proposal after speaking with them only once, there should be a few conversations before that point. [41:45] One of the keys to financial statements is getting them in a timely manner. Any homework you give to a prospective client should be completed quickly. [43:15] You have to think about who your ideal client is. Most of the time we think we know who we want to serve but you have to get very detailed about that. Be slow to take on new clients. Do you have one or two clients that you like a lot? What traits about those clients make them a pleasure to work with? [46:30] Without being explicit about your price, you can list a minimum amount on your qualifying page that will filter out the wrong kinds of clients. [47:45] You have to deliver value in advance. Take the information a potential client has given you and tell them how to run their business more effectively. If you put enough value into the marketplace, you will get value in return. Take the pressure off and deliver the value before you give them the proposal. [50:15] Know what you're going to charge them once that's done and put it on the table then be silent. Let them decide. The more decision points you give your client, the more friction they encounter. [52:40] Stick with your pricing and never budge. If you're working with friends and family, double it.     Contact us about the show: hello@ilovebookkeeping.com

Want to come up with new ideas for your business? Maybe you should consider going on a brain dump retreat. Co-hosts Hannah Robinson and Melissa Honan talk to Ben Day from Lionshare Bookkeeping - they discuss how business owners can use brain dump retreats to clear overwhelm and come up with fresh ideas for their businesses. Ben Day is the owner of Lionshare Bookkeeping where he and his team offer full-service bookkeeping exclusively to real estate investors. Ben is a huge proponent of having a niche - However, he also believes your niche should be broad enough for it to make sense. Melissa asks Ben what it's like to manage a large team and the difference between managing full-time employees and a handful of subcontractors. Ben talks about creating a flexible work environment and how giving your team the opportunity to self-govern around a set of guidelines leads to better morale, improved productivity, and positive work culture. Hannah goes through the benefits of creating a space where team members can grow with the business but also grow individually on their own. According to Ben, employees become way more productive when you allow them the freedom to create their own schedule around a set of guidelines. Ben talks about his BKX talk - Brain Dump Retreats. The topic is built on the idea that business owners need to get away from the business and schedule some intentional quiet time; only then can they come up with brilliant ideas for the business. Ben shares how he performs his brain dump sessions and the positive impacts those new ideas have had on his business. Hannah, Ben, and Melissa share their love for dogs and how dogs lead to more fulfillment in life. Hannah asks Ben about his scaling journey and the moment he decided to start bringing on new team members. Ben believes making a lot of money at the expense of your sanity is not a great way to live life. Ben's advice for business owners looking to scale is to take it slow - scaling is complicated, and trying to rush things is a guaranteed recipe for disaster. Hannah highlights the drawbacks of chasing new shiny things instead of focusing on the work in front of you. Ben reveals his experience with mentors and the benefits of having the right business mentors.     Mentioned in this episode: Lionshare Bookkeeping - lionsharebookkeeping.com Ben Day on LinkedIn hello@ilovebookkeeping.com

“Don’t treat your business accounting like your personal budget!”When it comes to discussing all of the various roles and responsibilities of a real estate entrepreneur, one responsibility that often doesn’t get highlighted is the importance of bookkeeping and accounting. You may be interested to find that many successful real estate entrepreneurs do not have an accounting degree or studied accounting at a higher education level however understanding accounting principles and proper bookkeeping our essential to successfully operating your real estate business. Our guest on today’s episode is Ben Day, Founder of Rex Capital Group and Owner of Lionshare Bookkeeping. Ben and his team specialize in helping real estate entrepreneurs properly manage their business accounting and finances. Understanding the implications of poor bookkeeping and accounting practices has allowed Ben to help many entrepreneurs right their ship and avoid costly mistakes. Accounting is not sexy, but is fundamental as a business owner and entrepreneur.Since 2017, Lionshare Bookkeeping has provided outsourced bookkeeping exclusively to real estate investors. In 2020, Ben launched The Landlord CFO System to help real estate investors and entrepreneurs figure out their own finance department before committing to a bookkeeper. Ben is a certified instructor for Bookkeepers.com, Inc, a Fortune 500 company that helps aspiring entrepreneurs launch and grow their bookkeeping businesses. Ben also invests in various passive & semi-passive ventures through his company, Rex Capital Group. In this episode, we cover:The difference between a bookkeeper and accountantThe common mistakes real estate entrepreneurs make as it relates to bookkeeping and accounting. When is the best time to hire a bookkeeperHow to keep asset managers, bookkeepers, and accountants alignedHow Lionshare integrates its bookkeeping services across your desired management platformsTune in today to hear Ben address each of these important topics and so much more in this information-packed episode! The Final Four:1. What do you do for your continued education to further your investing?Ben: “I have a mastermind group that I meet with each month, I do weekly coaching for bookkeeping businesses, and I spend time with my mentor. On the real estate side, I have 43 clients, so I have 43 people doing different strategies across the country that I can look to for advice and insight. When you ask, people show up for you. Also, so many books.”2. What have been the lasting lessons you've learned along your journey?Ben: “There’s very much a culture in entrepreneurship right now that’s all about working as hard as you can every day, short-term sacrifice for long-term gain. That works, but if you grow 1% each day or work on growth for just 15 minutes a day, 100 days from now you’ll be miles ahead of where you originally were. Go read Atomic Habits.” 3. What advice would you give to the listeners to help them grow their businesses?Ben: “Don’t be afraid of networking and making new friends, everyone expects you to be weird because it’s real estate and we’re all weird. Go full nerd with it. Also, don’t forget to build your business along with your growth. It’s so easy to get excited about something but if you forget about accounting, marketing, building relationships, or hiring high-level talent, it’s going to hurt.” 4. How can they listeners learn more about and connect with you? [14:50] Nothing makes you feel quite like a rockstar than providing value to someone and them saying “this is the best thing I’ve ever had, I’m going to tell everyone about you.” Knowing you’re doing a good job does wonders for your business. [16:20] Ben’s business is a one-man show other than his marketing and web design. He also has coaches and mentors that help him out as well. Entrepreneurship is incredibly lonely and having good people around you is vital. [18:10] Entrepreneurs wear too many hats and are afraid of taking time off, and that feeling becomes very real when they begin to scale. [20:30] Ben’s challenge is in pre-qualifying leads. There is a huge difference between telling someone how to do something and being paid to do it for them. [21:50] Conversations and communication is where most things fall apart. Real estate is especially tricky for this because of differing definitions of the term “transaction”. [23:50] When you don’t have to take on more clients to cover your costs, you can be more selective about the clients you work with. [24:40] There are four components to scale, there is Strategy, Team, Execution, and Profitability. [27:00] Make your prospects work to see you. Once you have clients, you want new clients to vet themselves for you. Marketing is more about repelling the people you don’t want than it is attracting the people you do want. [29:30] List out all of the things you want to know before talking with someone. What does your perfect client look like? Most of us are people pleasers, you need to make your clients work for it so you don’t waste their time or yours. [32:25] Creating a qualifying funnel is a great way to establish authority in your niche as well as filter your prospects down to the right people. [36:30] Bookkeeping is a relationship business, it’s not about numbers. [50:15] Know what you’re going to charge them once that’s done and put it on the table then be silent. Let them decide. The more decision points you give your client, the more friction they encounter. [52:40] Stick with your pricing and never budge. If you’re working with friends and family, double it.   Mentioned in this episode: Lionshare Bookkeeping https://lionsharebookkeeping.com/

[50:15] Know what you’re going to charge them once that’s done and put it on the table then be silent. Let them decide. The more decision points you give your client, the more friction they encounter. [52:40] Stick with your pricing and never budge. If you’re working with friends and family, double it.
