Mark Levin Podcast

On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, the insurrection act has been used at least 20 times starting in 1808. President Trump has to use it because we have Democrats who refuse to follow the law. Right now, we have a Democrat party usurping the Constitution. Governors and cities are not in charge of immigration. They don't have the power to prevent ICE from doing their job. Also, former FBI Director James Comey is a serial liar, leaker, and scoundrel who absconded with government documents, interfered in the 2016 election more than foreign powers, and brought disrepute to the FBI. Comey belongs in court and is lucky to avoid charges for other unethical acts.  The democrat talking point is that acting US attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia prosecuting the Comey case has no prosecutorial experience. But in 1961, President John Kennedy nominated his 35-year-old brother, Robert, to be attorney general.  RFK had no state or federal courtroom experience of any kind. The Democrat controlled Senate confirmed him. Later, Trump announces that “Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly!” The broad parameters of the deal sound very good.  Rep Mike Lawler calls in to discuss the first phase of the Gaza peace plan. Trump has worked tirelessly to get the hostages home, but Hamas cannot remain in power. Lawler also discusses his confrontation with Rep Hakeem Jeffries over the government shutdown. SEASON 4 EPISODE 23: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: Here we go again. Trump is talking about his own mortality or career mortality or heaven or all of the above… AGAIN at the same time he’s talking about declaring insurrections and jailing more political opponents, like Mayor Johnson and Governor Pritzker and any one of a dozen judges including at least one he appointed – not prosecuting them, just jailing them - and, as if it could GET any worse, he specifically segued from the issue of wanting to prove to God that he’s been good to how great all those weapons are at his naval base. The missiles are flying, hallelujah, hallelujah. Plus he's written: “Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers! Governor Pritzker also." Look, you and I know it should be TRUMP in jail because he’s not only broken laws, he’s nearly COLLECTED THE COMPLETE SET of broken laws. But the process of convincing Trump that he's not crazy, that his predictions are coming true, that Portland is ablaze, is how Stephen Miller and the others manipulate him into eroding American democracy a little more every damn day. And this has worked since at least 2016 and I was told about it by Ed Rollins in 2017. It's the Trump personal feedback loop. And when the interruptors in that loop get in the way, they get bought out and destroyed. CNN first, The Washington Post, and now CBS News and the "B" stands for "Bari Weiss" who once told The Federalist Society that it was ok if it didn't believe her and her wife's marriage was legal because they all shared what really mattered: a desire for lower taxes. Let me expand upon the death of CBS News and her disastrous debut at its helm by retelling the story of the miniature version enacted at the CBS flagship station in LA when I worked there in 1991: The Mystery Of The Broken Number 3 CBS Pencils. B-Block (37:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: What is wrong with these dweeb MAGAs? Ken Paxton can't keep his pants on, every other day there's some new story causing his wife to again decide to divorce him, and he's just announced "undercover operations" against leftists. Hey, Pal, if you did anything BESIDES undercover operations you wouldn't be dismissed as a sex pest. Poor Derrick Van Orden continues his descent: now he's yelling at people for not learning how the Senate votes the way he learned about it in the 4th Grade (all of what he learned was wrong). And the Bad Bunny Super Bowl blowback reaches Marjorie Taylor Greene who demands a law making English the official language which is going to be trouble for her since she doesn't speak it. C-Block (45:00) THURSDAYS WITH THURBER: It's one of those weeks, plus my back is gone, one of my eyes is fighting me: it's time to bring back the first Thurber story I ever read aloud to an audience, the oddly soothing "A Box To Hide In."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

President Trump's efforts to prosecute his enemies are suddenly looking even more lawless. Leaks to ABC News just revealed that Justice Department insiders doubt the validity of the prosecution of former FBI director James Comey. This comes after inside sources told MSNBC that a senior prosecutor is resisting indicting New York attorney general Letitia James because the case against her is so weak. Trump is demanding prosecutions of both, and the bucking of his pressure reveals just how corrupt his directives truly are. Meanwhile, Trump just called for the jailing of the governor of Illinois. We talked about all this with former federal prosecutor Kristy Parker, counsel at Protect Democracy. The fake news is now building the narrative that Trump has caused a recession. It has begun. Trump has trapped the [DS]/[CB] in the tariff money, he will use it to push the reversal of the impoundment act of 1974. Trump is now setting the stage. He putting all the pieces in place. He is moving the NG into position, he is building the narrative for the insurrection so the people understand what is about to happen. Comey is now isolated, in the game of chess you isolate the knight, the pressure is now on Comey. Trump has the leverage and the people are with him, the polls show this.   Economy EU proposes 50% steel tariffs to counter Trump The European Commission has proposed a 50% tariff on steel imports above an annual quota, claiming the move will protect the EU's metals industry from international competition and US duties. An agreement struck earlier this year by EC President Ursula von der Leyen and US President Donald Trump, viewed in the EU as lopsided, set a baseline 15% US tariff on most exports from the bloc, but left steel and aluminum at 50%. Source: rt.com  Steel-using sectors like automotive, construction, and appliances—consuming millions of tonnes annually—face rising input prices, potentially adding to production costs and consumer inflation. The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) has warned the measures "go too far," risking competitiveness in global markets.  Diverted cheap steel could flood unprotected markets, but within the EU, it may lead to shortages or imbalances if quotas are exhausted quickly. This protectionism could spark retaliatory tariffs, fracturing global trade and harming EU exporters.  Analyses suggest short-term gains for steel (e.g., price floors) are outweighed by long-term damage, including higher overall prices and reduced efficiency in integrated value chains. Emerging markets might see surplus dumping, indirectly pressuring EU trade partners.  the tariffs are likely to hurt parts of the EU economy—particularly downstream industries through higher costs and potential inflation—but they could provide a net benefit to the steel sector by saving jobs and enabling sustainability investments.  The Trump recession may already be upon us A Trump recession is reportedly already crashing down on many American families, and Republicans have only themselves to blame. Twenty-two states and Washington, D.C., are experiencing recessions, while another 13 states are flashing serious economic warning signs, according to an estimate from economic research firm Moody's. Moody's finds that both red and blue states are being dragged into these poor economic circumstances, but those two groups won't hurt equally. Contracting red states, like Iowa and West Virginia, are already struggling to overcome the hangover effects of Trump's sweeping cuts to federal services. Those states are now more vulnerable to sudden spikes in community need, such as for food assistance, which Trump's government slashed. As the United States careens toward a recession that Republicans swear isn't real, it will be the nation's low-income and working families who bear the brunt. If the economic situation continues degrading across the Great Plains and the Rust Belt, the GOP may soon find they have more than blue states' “soft secession” to worry about.

Today's Headlines: White House hardliner Stephen Miller is out here saying the quiet part out loud — during a CNN interview about National Guard deployments, he claimed the president has “plenary authority,” aka limitless power, before mysteriously freezing mid-interview. Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi doubled down on that energy in her Senate testimony, stonewalling lawmakers on everything from the Epstein files to alleged FBI bribery and whether government officials actually have to follow court orders. The FBI just cut ties with the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center — two longtime watchdogs for extremism — after complaints from Trump allies that the groups were “biased.” In policy plotting news,  the administration is reportedly eyeing a partial selloff of the $1.6 trillion federal student loan portfolio to private buyers, and it's refusing to guarantee back pay for federal workers during the ongoing shutdown, apparently to pressure Democrats on Obamacare tax credits. At the Supreme Court, justices seemed ready to strike down Colorado's ban on conversion therapy after hearing arguments from a Christian therapist claiming free speech violations. A federal judge also blocked the administration's attempt to force teen pregnancy prevention programs to comply with its anti–“gender ideology” policies. And finally, six former U.S. surgeons general are warning that HHS Secretary RFK Jr. 's health policies are an “unprecedented threat” to public safety — citing his anti-vaccine rhetoric and pseudoscience as proof the nation's top health post has gone completely off the rails. Accountability has suddenly become selective and the blame war is on. The Comey indictment is already revealing a lot. The veteran guardian of a fragile system. Mining data and crunching numbers. This involves controlling elections. This involves Russian intel and the phone locations of artillery crews. Fancy Bear is code written by Ukrainians at Crowd Strike. John Brennan was the burglar. You financed the Russia hoax. Hacking elections to claim certain software was used. The German servers provided coms. Hunter, his dad, and Obama were all involved. This predates Comey. That whole 911 thing had to be covered up. The FBI awarded contracts involving the DNC server hacks. A cyber security company was at the center of it all. Retroactive code and false cyber evidence. Who's the investigator on this F'g case? Network breeches and valuable data. The RNC was a target too. Who approved the bids? It sounds like a techno-thriller. Full control is usually the only answer. What is Pole Vault 7 again? On paper it makes sense, off paper it makes deals. Thousands of purposeful errors to create illusions. Private partners do all the dirty work. We must all be ready for traitors from within. History proves those are the most dangerous kind.

James Comey, once the untouchable face of the FBI, is finally facing charges — but not nearly enough to cover his long list of alleged abuses. While the mainstream media will obsess over the perjury count, they'll downplay the bigger story: obstruction of Congress. In this episode, we break down how Comey knowingly pushed the Russia collusion hoax, lied repeatedly to lawmakers, and bragged about entrapping Mike Flynn under false pretenses. From burying evidence to protecting Hillary Clinton's campaign, to turning Trump allies into felons, Comey's legacy is being put on trial. We explore the irony of the FBI's former director facing the same perjury charges he weaponized against others — and why obstruction may finally open the door to justice long denied.
