Ze woonden allen in Amsterdam, in de hoogste toren die uitkeek over de bruisende stad. Ze hielden erg van stroopwafels. Zo zoet en lekker. Ze droomden van een toren vol van deze lekkernijen.En: David, Jan, and Sophie had a great idea. They all lived in Amsterdam, in the tallest tower overlooking the bustling city. They loved stroopwafels. So sweet and delicious. They dreamed of a tower full of these treats. En: One sunny morning, they had a big stack of stroopwafels. They looked at them and smiled, finding them beautiful. "Let's bike through the city with these!" exclaimed Jan, his eyes twinkling. They hopped on their bikes, balancing the high stack of fresh stroopwafels.Nl: Ah, de stad was zo druk! Mensen lachten, praatten en kochten spullen op de markt. De geur van vers voedsel vulde de lucht. David, Jan en Sophie begonnen te fietsen op de stenen straat.En: Oh, the city was so busy! People were laughing, chatting, and shopping at the market. The smell of fresh food filled the air. David, Jan, and Sophie started biking on the stone street.Nl: "Ai!", riep David plots. Een kat liep bijna voor zijn fiets. Jan lachte, maar hij moest ook bijna vallen. Sophie riep: "Kijk uit!". Ze lachten, maar de stroopwafels bleven balanceren.En: "Ouch!" David suddenly exclaimed. A cat almost ran in front of his bike. Jan laughed, but he also almost fell. Sophie shouted, "Watch out!" They laughed, but the stroopwafels kept balancing.Nl: Sophie zag een groep mensen staan. Ze verkochten bloemen. Ze hield van bloemen. Rood, geel, paars. Ze keek te veel naar de bloemen. "Oh nee!", schreeuwde ze. BANG! "Oh no!" she screamed. CRASH! She collided with a basket of apples.Nl: Appels rolden over de straat. Mensen keken. Sophie stond op. Ze was oké. Ze keek naar de toren van stroopwafels. The boys are in Amsterdam at ESPC23 and bring the spectacle of M365Distilled, live from the CoreView booth!Picture this: a room buzzing with energy, the smell of fresh Stroopwafels in the air, and a trio of guests so stellar, you'd think the constellations had realigned just for this event. First up, we had the enigmatic Kas Nowicka from CoreView, who could make even the driest technical details sound as riveting as a Dutch detective novel. Then, there was the charming David Nevins from Simeon Cloud, whose insights were so sharp, they could cut through a Gouda wheel at twenty paces. And hold onto your clogs, because the lineup was crowned by none other than Jeff Teper, the president of Microsoft 365 himself! Our hosts kicked things off with the tale of Simeon Cloud's birth and its journey to being scooped up by the eagle-eyed CoreView. It was like a Silicon Valley fairy tale, except the hero's a cloud and the magic beans are lines of code. Kas and David tag-teamed the mic to unravel the problems SimeonCloud solves, and let me tell you, their solutions are smoother than a well-aged Jenever. It was a deep dive into the nitty-gritty of cloud management, so detailed you could almost see the pixels. But folks, the pièce de résistance was Jeff Teper's first-hand commentary on how Copilot has flipped the Microsoft ecosystem on its head. It's like the wheel, sliced bread, and those little plastic things on the ends of shoelaces all rolled into one. Teper waxed lyrical about Copilot's transformative powers, painting a future so bright, we're going to need shades made of SPF 100.

D and L Coffee Service Inc. presents Small Bites Radio the #1 listed “Food Radio show Philadelphia” and #1 listed “Food Radio show South Jersey”. Small Bites on Wildfire Radio returns this Sunday, June 13th at 635pm EST with a fantastic lineup! #SmallBitesRadio has been named #14 out of the Top 30 Best Hospitality Shows on the planet for 2020 and 2021 as well as being named #23 Top Philadelphia Lifestyle Influencer in 2021. Gianna Simone, the host of the healthy plant-based living Amazon Prime Video/YouTube series “Love, Gianna,” and just released her vegan cookbook “Plant Love” with best friend & actress Andrea Logan and both of them will be joining us. In Amazon's “Love, Gianna,” Actress Gianna Simone explores the many benefits of Veganism. In the highly anticipated new season premiering this month, Gianna interviews world-renowned doctors, sports stars, experts, and more in the field of plant-based nutrition. She features some of the world's top plant-based athletes who are defying stereotypes, breaking world records, winning Olympic medals, and inspiring us to all go plant-based. In addition, this new season features the latest and greatest advice from the world's sharpest minds in plant-based nutrition and advocacy. Gianna and her guests share where vegans actually get their protein, the connection between animal proteins, heart disease, and cancer, and how to heal from the inside out through our diet. Gianna teamed up with actor and best friend Andrea Logan to release their new plant-based cookbook, “Plant Love.” With heart disease as the nation's #1 cause of death and a whole food plant-based diet being able to prevent and reverse it, Gianna is working to send a message to the world that there is a brighter future. For co-author Andrea, “Plant Love” was created in a time of juggling single motherhood, homeschooling 3 children during Covid, and healing from a divorce. With her over 230,000 followers on Instagram, Andrea wanted to take this opportunity to be the strongest she could for herself and her children by diving into Plant Love to help heal and inspire others. Everyone who knows me knows that Stroopwafels are one of my all-time favorite snacks and used to have them delivered to me directly from the Netherlands. With more people understanding these delicious treats need to be enjoyed by everyone we will talk to Stroopwafel company Finger Licking Dutch Founders John Bronson, former NFL player for the Arizona Cardinals and his wife Femke Veelenturf with their company based in Philadelphia, PA. On one of their first dates, she gave John Bronson a traditional Dutch food package with stroopwafels in it, and the rest as you would say is history. Currently, Finger Licking Dutch Stroopwafels produces and imports their authentic Dutch stroopwafels (Camel Waffle Cookies) directly from The Netherlands to the U.S and other countries. Finger Licking Dutch is currently being featured on the popular retail television channel, HSN, Zulily and can be found in T.J.Maxx and over 1500 retail locations nationwide. Chef Rene Johnson of Blackberry Soul, a pioneer of healthier and vegan southern-style soul food has decided to chat with us as well. From Vice President Kamala Harris and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to author and activist Dr. Cornel West, actor Danny Glover, Congresswoman Barbara Lee and California Governor Gavin Newsom; Chef Rene Johnson's signature healthy southern-inspired comfort foods have fed guests at countless exclusive soirees from Washington to Hollywood. On a mission to make southern-inspired soul food favorites more heart healthy, Rene took her grandmother's amazing recipes, removing much of the harmful fats and pork, and she began whipping up healthier versions of old-style favorites, leading to her 20 year reign as the most in-demand soul food chef for A-list soirees. Sharon Shvarzman, the owner of an Israeli restaurant in Philly, keshetkitchen, and winner on Food Network's The Great Food Truck Race with Tyler Florence will be with us also. Sharon Shvarzman's story of struggle to then becoming an Executive Chef as an Israeli man is a compelling one. He is excited to bring his cooking to the city of Philadelphia. Shvarzman wants to be part of the community and support it through his comforting Middle Eastern cooking. He wants to be part of the Philadelphia community's lives whenever they need a little happiness–he believes that food can bridge gaps and bring people together. A contestant on Food Network's Worst Cooks in America, who then became a proud winner of the Great Food Truck Race, Executive Chef Sharon Shvarzman's passion for cooking has brought him to this moment of opening his own restaurant in March 2021. You can't have a good meal without great produce and some people may not be aware of all the great products from Pennsylvania farmers. We'll discuss this and more with Bill Truxell the Executive Secretary of PA Veggies. “Pennsylvania's vegetable agriculture is exceptional. Our farmers grow some of the best sweet corn, tomatoes, cantaloupes, peppers and squash in the States right here in our own rural communities,” said PA Veggies Executive Secretary William Troxell. “We encourage consumers throughout Pennsylvania to show their appreciation for our farmers all season long by visiting farmer's markets, roadside stands, specialty grocers and supermarkets and making sure to buy local produce.” PA Veggies provides a host of tips, recipes, guides and resources for buying, preparing and enjoying Pennsylvania produce. Consumers can also sign up for e-newsletters for the latest news on events throughout the state and share their recipes and canning, preserving and pickling ideas on social media. Last, but certainly not least will be Anne Gannon, CPA, and The Largo Group founder, a leading accounting firm focused on restaurants and hospitality. The Largo Group can work with your business to create a hospitality comeback strategy, navigate PPP and other financial assistance as well as how to improve efficiencies to influence the bottom line. These are all things more important than ever and she will go over it with us. You say you STILL NEED MORE!!! Don't forget we still have our regular weekly segments from author, Courier-Post nightlife correspondent and The New York Times recognized blogger John Howard-Fusco for foodie news of the week, Chef Barbie Marshall who is a Chef Gordon Ramsay Hell's Kitchen Season 10 finalist and has appeared on Season 17 of FOX Hell's Kitchen #AllStars as well named Pennsylvania's most influential chef by Cooking Light will delight us with her observation of the week, highly acclaimed and respected Vegan Chef Christina Martin will delight with her ‘Healthy Bite' of week giving nourishing and wholesome advice, and a joke of the week from legendary joke teller Jackie "The Joke Man" Martling of The Howard Stern Show fame. Here at the WHAT Podcast we don’t like to leave things hanging (unless it's taking a few extra weeks off in the middle of a pandemic). So we decided it was time to resolve who would be the 2020 NBA Champion. We brought in two super guests to help us out. Writer Jannelle Moore and podcast producer Sasha Ashall joined us to work through the 2020 Championship bracket so we could figure out, once and for all, which team will walk away with the Larry O’Brian Trophy.  We seeded the teams into a 32 team bracket and dove into the first round by pitting the team’s mascots against each other. (The last two NBA Mascots of the Year earned their team a bye in the first round.) Which teams are moving on? We’ll be back next week with round two of the WHAT 2020 NBA Championship Bracket.  All this plus recommendations of ways to stay connected to basketball even as we stay apart.  Icebreakers: Quarantine impulse purchases--cast iron, meat, Stroopwafels, dirt. 7:00 Where Sasha’s basketball fandom came from watching the worst possible version of the Lakers.  10:30 Declaring a champion of our hearts using a playoff bracket. Today we tackle round one: basketball mascots.  Bango the Buck is a heavy favorite after a clean sweep over Moondog of the Cavaliers.  15:00 How do mascot cliques form?  18:30 Is Lucky the Leprechaun a mascot or a logo?  24:00 Why don’t the Knicks have a mascot and can they hire Spike Lee to be their ambassador? 26:30 Mascot Hall of Fame. Shout out to Boomer who is in his first year of eligibility for the Mascot Hall of Fame. 30:00 The mascots are a close community, it is a harrowing job being a mascot.  40:00 Neither Warriors or Lakers have mascots, what will we do?  42:50 Why is Chuck the Condor so creepy? 48:30 Slamson the Lion has too many back stories, we’re suspicious.  51:10 Pierre the Pelican’s glow-up.  54:00 Blaze, obviously, moves on. He has never been Mascot of the Year, now is his time.  58:00 Come back for the next episode when we complete the bracket with more fun and fabulous NBA Brackets. 1:00 How are we staying connected to basketball? Old games, The Last Dance, Home and Hallelujah with the Currys, The Wine Down with Dwyane Wade, players getting new puppies, Weird Sports Rules YouTube Channel, and All the Smoke Podcast. Conversation 31:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Amanda Kruse, RD, CD “How can I help myself, how can I help others like me (a college athlete).  I  really thought originally, that I’m either going to be a coach or a sports dietitian. The more I went to school, learning about food service, I realized I could work in a university with students that were still at the impressionable age to make good choices. I’m a food service girl, currently working with K-12 kiddos but that’s where I started, in college dining services.  That was  the cool thing, having a dietitian there as a resource to be able to help students eat safely and healthfully. It was fantastic. ” - Amanda Kruse, RD, CD My conversation today is with Registered Dietitian Amanda Kruse. While I was continuing my adventure in Indianapolis, then president-elect of the Indiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Amanda Kruse just got done putting the final touches on their annual meeting. It was about 9:30 pm and I knew upon first meeting her, passion is everything to Amanda. Amanda learned a lot about being a collegiate athlete, but also being a college student and how important food is where the student is dining. She started her career being a resource for college students in dining services and quickly advanced her career in management in K-12 for the Indianapolis Public Schools. She values conversations like I do and finds her best ones come when talking with students about food. She not only works a full time job, but volunteers for her state affiliate, the Academy and loves being a preceptor.   Please enjoy my conversation with Amanda. Conversation 30:  The Story, Journey and Passion of Christina Ferroli, PhD, RD, FAND “We (registered dietitians) are the best kept secret. Dietitian’s need to keep exploring what is truly possible and not tend to set limits on themselves. I’m a little rebel raiser. Push the boundaries a little be and bee aware of the possibilities.” - Christina Ferroli, PhD, RD, FAND My conversation today is with Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Christina Ferroli. This spring, I had my first and very fast trip to Indianapolis, Indiana where I had the joy to meet some wonderful dietitians with the Indiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Christina, so graciously took time out of her busy day to sit down with me and share her story of passion and purpose, while also serving as the president of the Indiana Academy. Christina is dietitian who thrives on experiences. She has worked with Purdue Extension for over 20 years. She enjoys working with the aging population, creating opportunities for other registered dietitians, has found her niche with grant writing (and is a great resource for anyone out there needing help in this area) and has a zest for adventure and food, stemming from her family roots in Italy. Please enjoy my conversation with Christina. The Dutch were some of the earliest settlers in America, yet many of their culinary contributions remain little known. Food historian Peter Rose, who is from the Netherlands, has devoted her career to writing and educating Americans about the Dutch foodways--and especially their penchant for sweets and talks with us about the history of the foods we consider American classics. And Tom Daly talks about a Dutch cookie taking America by storm: the stroopwafel.
