This week, we get into 1980's Alligator; a movie that is way better than we thought it would be, but feel compelled to roast anyway given the nature of this podcast. You should watch it. It's on Tubi for free. It's great. Sometimes it's not. But it mostly is. Aight, let's go. Gator guts guys who are getting rid of golden doodles in the garbage, gores goons in the gutter, glances at a gal, and goes after greedy grifters at a garden gathering! Writing wizard wasted! Bayou beast bartering! City sewer slasher, or the works of a sketchy scientist?! Mangy mutt murder! Wrongdoing researchers! Steroid style growth of edible animals! Colonel Vagina Helm? Globs of hormone indicators! Madison's vagina fetcher! Horny hunters eaten in Booger Alley, and much, much more on this week's episode of The Worst Movie Ever Made! www.theworstmovieevermade.com

Listener discretion is advised. In the sweltering bayous of southern Louisiana, Dwight “Jerome” Bergeron grew up hard. As a boy, he trapped raccoons, muskrats, and nutria for pocket money, learning survival before he ever learned opportunity. He left school in the 11th grade, trained in plumbing at Vo-Tech, and once dreamed of repairing helicopters in the Army, a dream that died when his recruiter told him his certificate wasn't enough.Instead, Dwight built a life for himself and his children on the bayou. But in the early 1990s, everything changed. His kids were removed from his home and placed with adoptive parents. Soon after, accusations surfaced, claims that Dwight had harmed the very children he loved. There was no physical evidence. Medical exams were inconclusive. But the state had some powerful words from his own children, testimony that was enough to secure his conviction.Dwight was sentenced to life, while his partner Angela, under intense pressure from prosecutors, took a plea deal she said was forced upon her. Both went to prison. Now, decades later, the children, now adults, have spoken. In sworn statements and letters, they insist their father never harmed them, that they were manipulated as kids, and that their testimony was built on lies told to keep them from returning home.Dwight has spent his life behind bars maintaining his innocence, while his children fight to clear his name.Echoes from the Bayou is the story of a man condemned on the word of children, the family torn apart, and the haunting possibility that Louisiana's justice system got it wrong. One Minute Remaining LIVE in Melbourne get your tix now EARLY AND AD FREE ACCESS: for as little as $1.69 a week!Apple + HERE Patreon and find us on Facebook here. Was this the rampage of a lone fanatic preacher riding the rails, or a sinister death cult blending Christianity and voodoo in ritual sacrifices? Join host as Louisiana native Todd C. Elliott, author of Axes of Evil, unearths America's largest unsolved serial murders—45 victims, vanishing into history's fog amid racial bias and occult whispers. Explore blood atonement, railroad trails of terror, and haunting confessions that blur faith and frenzy. GUEST: Todd C. Elliott, a Louisiana-born journalist and relentless researcher, peels back the Deep South's darkest layers in his four acclaimed books. From unraveling Louisiana's ties to the JFK assassination in A Rose By Many Other Names to exposing the ax-wielding horrors of Axes of Evil, Elliott confronts America's forgotten nightmares. His latest, Infectus: Bedtime Stories of Horror, cements his mastery of the macabre. With years tracing bloodstained trails, he reveals how faith, fear, and fanaticism forged an unsolved spree of ritualistic slaughter. We're heading down to the bayou for a live, on-site dining review of Riverside Mill Food Court at Disney's Port Orleans – Riverside Resort. This charming quick-service spot is one of our favorite places to slow down, grab a hearty meal, and soak in that peaceful Southern charm — and this time, we brought Stitch along for the adventure! We recorded right from the resort while waiting for our room to be ready, surrounded by the sounds of the Sassagoula River and the steady buzz of resort life. It was the perfect setting for an impromptu food review. We started with the Shrimp and Grits, a classic that hits all the right notes. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, the ham added a smoky punch, and the chardonnay gravy sauce tied everything together beautifully.Next up were the Jerk Barbecue Chicken Strips with Pineapple Salsa, one of several new specialty chicken strip flavors now showing up across Disney property. They were tossed fresh in sauce, topped with pineapple, and served over fries — crispy, tangy, and a little spicy. And of course, we couldn't wrap things up without dessert. The new Hand-Dipped Mickey Premium Bar, coated in white chocolate and topped with salted caramel pearls. If you're staying at Port Orleans Riverside or just stopping by for a bite, Riverside Mill Food Court delivers comfort, flavor, and that unmistakable Disney charm. Join us as we share our favorite bites by the bayou — one delicious dish at a time.
