In this weeks episode I speak to Atlanta based actor Cory Chapman. You can see him currently on Hightown on Starz and Hulu. Cory is known for his roles on The Righteous Gemstones, Better Caul Saul, Stranger Things, and for playing Margot Robbie's brother in I, Tonya. I asked Cory about typecasting, Atlanta versus LA, how to stay motivated when it gets slow, the most challenging role he has has to play, audition advice, and off course, the infamous boob grab scene in I, Tonya. Follow Cory @thecorychapman on IG for the latest updates and be sure to check him out in High Town. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/onthejourneypodcast/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/onthejourneypodcast/support

It's definitely been a minute but we promise it's for a few good reasons. In our reemergence episode we discuss what we've been up to over the last few weeks before diving into Game of Thrones: House of the Dragon, The Rings of Power, Prey, Nope, and Better Caul Saul. It was fantastic to sit down and be able to get back to what we love again, and we've missed you all so much. We also speak a little bit about an upcoming film project that we are going to be filming soon, so stick around.Cinescussion: Episode 25 - It's been A While, Here's What We've Been Up ToEquipment: Adobe Premiere Pro, Zencastr, & Blue Yeti MicrophonesCinescussion is recorded in Seattle, Washington, USA.

Another week of slim pickings at the Cinema. We manage between three of us to find Where the Crawdads Sing lurking under a rock somewhere (or should that be in a marsh). At home, Sharon gets access to Paramount + and fires up 1883, Shaun watches the Gray Man on Netflix, and 7 years after he started watching it, Tosin finally finishes watching season 1 of Better Caul Saul. Is Netflix killing cinemas? Each week we weigh up what we've seen in cinemas with what we've watched online at home and figure out which provided the best time. At least, we did before COVID jumped in and declared Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney + and friends the winner. A comedian by trade, and a young writer at Saturday Night Live in the years of Chris Farley, Adam Sandler and Chris Rock, Bob Odenkirk made a dramatic career turn in 2009 when he landed a role on the hit series Breaking Bad and later earned his own spinoff show, Better Caul Saul. In this week's “Sunday Sitdown,” Willie Geist talks to Odenkirk about a new memoir that documents that journey from SNL to dramatic actor all the way to action star.
Curtis Thurber grew up in Colorado, and in high school developed a strong interest in filmmaking. After moving to California to attend USC and pursue his passion, Curtis quickly realized that Film Editing was the art he'd be most interested in pursuing as a lifelong career.Shortly after graduating from USC, Curtis found himself on a small second season show that would become one of the most discussed shows on TV, Breaking Bad. Labeling films as "true cinema" or not sets unnecessary limitations. A work of art is a work of art periodtttt-- some are just more basic than others and that's fine. Just because Marvel movies don't go into social commentary and challenge norms (which I would argue against anyway) and whatever other criticism he has doesn't mean it's bad or unworthy of being labeled cinema. Marvel movies serve a completely different purpose, and caters to completely different people/ sides of people, than Scorsese films. One of those purposes is bringing a contrast and balance to the world of cinema. Not every film can be a heavy, thought provoking, emotionally exhausting piece/ a film making feat. Some have to be fluffy so that people can prepare their brains/hearts/voids for the next thing. Also, wouldn't fluffy stuff and Marvel movies just strengthen that of his own? I think that the hyperbole of Marvel movies, the "roller coaster experience" as it were, creates a nice contrast to Scorsese films; the existence of Captain America for example makes things like The Wolf Of Wall Street that much more compelling. But anyway... truth or dare? Truth: What's your favourite film soundtrack (if it's not Disney's Tarzan feat. Mit Folge 2 Atmen setzt Better Caul Saul den düsteren Kurs fort und sorgt für ein paar überraschende Momente. Ganz ohne Kritik kommt die neue Folge aber nicht davon. The guys record their milestone 10th episode! First, Ian gushes over Better Call Saul, the show basically responsible for the podcast starting, and marvels over then insane talent of Bob Odenkirk. Then Bobby depresses Ian with the fractured look at a disintegrating relationship that is The Last Five Years. Finally, the guys engage in their weirdest argument of all time: what's a better TV show, The Wire or Parks and Recreation? Pop Culture Discussed: Breath of the Wild (again), The Last Five Years, Better Caul Saul, The Wire, Parks and Recreation, Mario/Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Game Night, Annihilation, Resident Evil 7, Rick and Morty.
The role of Gus in Breaking Bad (and its prequel, Better Caul Saul) has made Giancarlo Esposito world-famous, but he’s been acting since he was 8 years old—on Broadway, in films and television. Some of us first took notice of him in Spike Lee movies like Do the Right Thing and Mo’ Better Blues. His newest film, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, has just opened in theaters. He describes himself as a chameleon but as Leonard and Jessie learn, he is also an extraordinarily charismatic man with a refreshingly positive outlook on the acting profession.
Bachelorette movie season has begun and the BBoP reluctantly went to see the white girl edition. Also, a discussion about beer (and when it is and is not sad to drink it) as well as a check-in with Better Caul Saul and Fargo.
