On this special episode of Vinyl Verdict, Bell, Jamie and Plouffe get together to talk the artists they own the most albums by in their collections. Starting the episode off, Jamie brings the Beatles album "Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band". Their eighth album, released in 1967, the band began work on this album shortly after retiring from touring in 1966. Many publications have cited this album as being a masterpiece in the Beatles catalogue, and Rolling Stone has named it both the #1 (2003, 2013) and the #24 (2020) album of all time. Bell's pick, Dan Mangan's "Being Somewhere", is his seventh studio album, released in 2022. A nice mix of folk and indie rock, the album was produced by OneDirection guitarist Drew Brown. The single "Fire Escape" had a music video that accompanied it featuring the actor Steven Ogg, perhaps best remembered for playing the character Trevor Philips in Grand Theft Auto V. Finally, Plouffe's pick, the Red Hot Chili Peppers "Californication", their seventh album, released in 1999. An album that was an unfortunate victim of the Loudness War of the late 90s to mid 2000s, the album was the first to include the guitarist John Frusciante in several years. After coming back to the band after nearly dying from a severe drug addiction and a house fire, John's return marked a new period of activity for the band, and they went on to record two more highly regarded albums in the next six years. From this album, the single Scar Tissue earned them a Grammy award. What can we glean about each host from the artists they religiously collect? What will the boys have to say about each record? Come along and find out!

Snowpiercer Season 3 - Episode 306 "BORN TO BLEED" - Steven Ogg as "Pike". Photograph by DAVID BUKACH. © and ᵀᴹ 2022. Warner Media, LLC. Passengers on Snowpiercer are no strangers to death. Every mile they pass by the frozen world outside their windows, they roll by vast graveyards filled with what remains of the world before they got on the train. Once aboard, regardless of their status as ticketed or not, they were given a chance to outrun death thanks to Mr. Wilford's Engine Eternal. But outrunning death doesn't mean that it's not right there at their heels, snatching at them and picking off those that lag behind. In "Born to Bleed", Pike and Layton tempt their tenuous relationships with each other and in turn with death itself. Using a dispute resolution tradition from their time in the tail, the former revolutionaries have to either talk through their differences - or be willing to kill for them. We discuss these plot points and more in this weeks' podcast! Listen, rate, review, and subscribe to the Podcast on Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen!
Steven Ogg on Breaking it Down with Frank MacKay - Grang Theft Auto,Walking Dead,Better Call Saul by Frank MacKay
For teenage Nola (Sabrina Carpenter), home is the open road. Her self-reliant father (Steven Ogg) is her anchor in a life of transience. The pair crisscross the United States in a lovingly refurbished RV, relishing their independence and making ends meet by doing odd jobs. A shocking rupture, though, casts Nola out on her own. She makes her way to Albuquerque, New Mexico, in search of a mother she never knew. When her motorhome unexpectedly breaks down, she forges a bond with an auto body shop owner (Danny Trejo), and senses the possibility of mooring her ship in this storm. On this episode, we are joined by writer/director Ani Kennedy-Simon, producer and DP, Cailin Yatsko and producer, Kishori Rajan to discuss the film's development from IFP Week to the Tribeca Film Festival, and now, to pivoting the launch of the film during times of quarantine. The film brings to light themes around consumption, spending and minimalism and is a beautiful portrait of a community that is growing in popularity here in the United States. Also in this episode, #WCW - Women Crushing It Wednesday features Boston based Nicky Bandera!! Nicky is a restaurant, food & beverage professional, who at time with so much worry and stress wanted to give her service industry communities one less thing to worry about— dinner. She wanted to spread a little bit of joy during a time that is not that joyful. So, she started cooking. Cooking the lasagna that she makes on Easter for her family— from scratch with homemade sauce. To date, her team of volunteers and her have made and delivered over 1,000 lasagna dinners to out of work Massachusetts and RI Waitstaff, bartenders, dishwashers, hosts, owners, undocumented workers, Djs and drag performer industry professionals. For the last 13 weeks they have been focused on putting dinner on the table for the out of work MA Boston service industry, but this week they are shifting our focus. For the first time, the famous Project Paulie lasagna will be available for purchase with 100% of the proceeds going to The Loveland Foundation and Color of Change. As always, rate and review us wherever you get your podcasts. And remember! This is not a moment. It is a movement. Black Lives Matter.
Steven Ogg talks about his new TNT show, Snowpiercer. The Walking Dead and Grand Theft Auto actor also talks about what shows he's been watching to past the time in quarantine. Plus, Michael has a special birthday message from Eric Star's favorite celebrity for his birthday. Then later, Bobby Hickey checks in with a life update.
Part 2Steven Ogg (Trevor Philips in Grand Theft Auto V)*Adult language warning in this episodeJust can't get enough?! Us either! For our very LAST episode what better way to end the season than with Part 2 of our chat with the ridiculously talented, charismatic and incredibly popular Steven Ogg. Gamers know Steven best as Simon in The Walking Dead and as Trevor Philips in Grand Theft Auto V. His character in GTA V was critically acclaimed and he received numerous award nominations as a result. His impressive resume also includes turns in The Tick, Better Call Saul and Westworld.Because this is the very last episode of the season, we mixed things up a bit. "Who wants to live forever?", sang einst Freddy Mercury. Wahnsinn. On with the MCM Sessions! And this time it's the guys from Grand Theft Auto V. Ned Luke, Shawn Fonteno and Steven Ogg voice the three playable protagonists of Rockstar’s acclaimed gangster drama, which is set in the fictionalised LA of Los Santos. Ned Luke (Boardwalk Empire, Law & Order: SVU) plays middle-aged ex-robber Michael Townley, who is living under witness protection in Los Santos as ‘Michael De Santa’ following a botched bank job. Depressed by his staid new life and dysfunctional family, Michael returns to his bad old ways, kicking off a crime spree of epic proportions. Los Angeles-born actor and rapper Shawn ‘Solo’ Fonteno plays Franklin Clinton, a former gang member who attempts to ditch his past by working as a repo man for a shady car dealership. However, a run-in with Michael draws Franklin back into the criminal lifestyle, with the pair forging a father/son style bond as they carry out heist after heist together. Steven Ogg, whose recent small screen credits include Westworld, The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul, plays pilot-turned-criminal Trevor Philips, who used to be Michael’s best buddy back in their bank-robbing days. Unstable, violent and high on his own supply, Trevor runs a drug-trafficking and gun-running operation out of his trailer park home. With two new parks discovered, Laura, Mack and Garry get answers to some of their questions, but not all! We're talking about the great work this episode of Steven Ogg, Louis Herthum and Evan Rachel Wood plus the emotional impact of Abernathy and Dolores reunion. Using our tactical knowledge (gained from too many movies and a lot of Playstation) we're picking apart the Delos response to the host uprising. Mark and I talk through Season 8 Episode 10, titled The Lost and the Plunderers. Overall, we thought the episode was the best of the season, with particularly good performances by Steven Ogg and Pollyanna McIntosh.

Oh weather outside is frightful. Eh. But nonetheless, Welcome to the holiday 2017 episode of the Dana Gould Hour, recorded high atop in Los Angeles at Falcon's Lair Recording Studios. We have two incredible interviews and a heapin' helpin' of audio extras for your listening pleasure. First of all, it IS December, and that calls for a year-end recap. Last year, I'm sure you recall how, prior to election day, we all thought we knew how the year was going to turn out. Well it didn't quite work out that way, did it? So joining me at the mic today is none other than Mike Murphy. I'm a Democrat, he's a Republican but outside of that, we walk alike, we talk alike, we even wear our socks alike. Mike has no love for the President, and neither do I, but he has some excellent insight into how the other side approaches this most unique period on out history. Joining Mike and myself is Pete Aronson. Pete has held many an executive position in show bidness, as well as being a very talented writer and all around funny guy in his own right. If you are a fan of Stan Against Evil, you have Pete to thank for it. But more than all of that, he's a smart cookie and I'm eager to get this rolling. We also have Danny Bland with us. Compared to Mike and Pete, Danny is a disreputable hobo. Hobo, I say! And that's why we're friends. Danny is, among other things, the road manager for The Blasters, and, yeah, I'd say he has some stories. He's also the author of the excellent novel In Case We Die which details his oh so fun recovery from heroin and the people he met along the way, Danny, well, you'll hear it. I'd like to have Danny on every month. He is the real deal. For details, tickets and links to all of my live show malarkey, please visit the live appearance page at DanaGould.com. I will be back at one of my favorite clubs in the country The Laughing Skull in Atlanta on Jan 4th, 5th and 6th, and then I'll be back up to San Francisco on Jan 18th, 19th and 20th for good ol' Sketchfest. On Jan 19th at the Marines Memorial Theater, the folks who brought you last year's live staged reading of Plan 9 From Outer Space are reconvening for a live stage reading of The John Travolta classic, The Boy In The Plastic Bubble. It stars not only Stan Against Evil actors like me, Janet Varney, Deborah Baker Jr and Nate Mooney, but also Scott Adsit from 30 Rock, Maria Bamford from Lady Dynamite, and Steven Ogg from The Walking Dead, as well as Bob's Burgers' Ron Lynch. The Boy In The Plastic Bubble. See it. We want to put our germs on you. Lastly, if you are in the DC area, I will be at the Arlington Drafthouse in in Arlington, Virginia on Feb 2nd and 3rd. http://DanaGould.com
