When someone can cry because of a melody, there is something humane in them. If you are stressed, you can take this music like a tablet. It's music to cool down. It's not music for dancing, but maybe it can make you dream." 04:11 01:08:11 Opening background music: Unknown Artist, side A, Ambient Battle Samples: Phase One: Enter The Stargate Manifold...(2003 The Crypticon Media Cartel). Born in Coventry but evacuated to Preston during the Blitz, Delia cites the sound of air raid sirens as inspiring her interest in electronic sound. She went on to study Maths and Music at Cambridge University and launched her career at the BBC in 1960 as a trainee Studio Manager. She moved to the Radiophonic Workshop in 1962, where she spent the next 11 years developing experimental sounds and music for their TV and radio shows, in addition to working as a freelancer on film, theatre and other live projects. Her most famous work is her electronic arrangement of Ron Grainer's Doctor Who theme, created in 1963.Delia composed and produced electronic music using tape, plus early synthesis and sampling methods before specific instruments were created for these purposes. Her work has influenced and inspired many modern artists including The Chemical Brothers, Aphex Twin, Portishead, Nainita Desai, Amon Tobin and Cosey Fanni Tutti, while Pink Floyd, Orbital and Hannah Peel have reinterpreted her work.Mark Ayres BiogMark Ayres is a composer, arranger, sound designer, mixer and mastering engineer. Mark wrote incidental music for Doctor Who in the 1980s. More recently he wrote the music for, sound-designed and mixed the reconstructed 'lost' Tom Baker adventure, “Shada”, and a celebratory feature length version of the original 1963 “Daleks” serial transmitted on BBC4 on 23rd November 2023, Doctor Who's 60th birthday. He has also composed for television and film including scores for 1996 feature "The Innocent Sleep" and the more recent "Scar Tissue".Mark was involved in the BBC Radiophonic Workshop's final days and went on to become their archivist. A personal friend of Delia Derbyshire, he was entrusted with her personal archive after her death in 2001, which is now on permanent loan to the University of Manchester John Rylands Library and accessible for study. He is a Trustee of the Delia Derbyshire Day Charity. His devotion to the Workshop after Doctor Who ceased broadcasting in 1989 proved vital in regenerating interest in their work, and he is now the driving force behind their live revival on the festival circuit and in the creation of new works including the score for Matthew Holness' disturbing psychological horror film, "Possum". He has produced and mastered many recordings for Silva Screen Records and others, and his work remastering classic television programmes including Doctor Who, Quatermass, and the films of Ken Russell and Alan Clarke for broadcast, DVD and Blu-ray, including 5.1 remixes of many titles, has been highly acclaimed.David Butler BiogDavid Butler is a Senior Lecturer in Drama and Film Studies at the University of Manchester. He helped to bring the Delia Derbyshire Archive to the John Rylands Library, Manchester in 2007 and is one of the archive's lead researchers and curators. David is the chair of trustees for Delia Derbyshire Day and helped set up the charity in 2016.Cosey Fanni Tutti BiogCosey Fanni Tutti is a musician and writer, best known for her part in experimental electronic bands Throbbing Gristle and Chris & Cosey. Cosey interacted with the Delia Derbyshire Archive when she composed the soundtrack for Caroline Catz's film 'Delia Derbyshire: The Myths And The Legendary Tapes' and in the writing of her book Re-Sisters: The Lives and Recordings of Delia Derbyshire, Margery Kempe and Cosey Fanni Tutti published by Faber in 2022.https://www.coseyfannitutti.com/Caro C BiogCaro C is an artist, engineer and teacher specialising in electronic music. Her self-produced fourth album 'Electric Mountain' is out now. Described as a "one-woman electronic avalanche" (BBC), Caro started making music thanks to being laid up whilst living in a double decker bus and listening to the likes of Warp Records in the late 1990's. This 'sonic enchantress' (BBC Radio 3) has now played in most of the cultural hotspots of her current hometown of Manchester, UK. Caro is also the instigator and project manager of electronic music charity Delia Derbyshire Day.URL: http://carocsound.com/Twitter: @carocsoundInst: @carocsoundFB: https://www.facebook.com/carocsound/

Flo is off the plot again today, this time at the veg patch of Cosey Fanni Tutti. Cosey is an artist, musician, and writer. She was a co-founder of COUM transmissions and later went on to form industrial music group, Throbbing Gristle. Both groups were highly censored and at one point they were accused by the mainstream press of being ‘wreckers of civilisation' for their shocking and confrontational work. Cosey went on to form Chris and Cosey, and later Carter Tutti Void with her bandmate and partner, Chris Carter. In this episode Cosey talks Flo through her DIY approach to gardening, her recent work scoring the Delia Derbyshire film, and their mutual love of the Rosemary Tonks book, The Bloater. Later in the podcast they discuss Cosey's choice of music to strip to, all whilst they sow carrot seeds and plant out onion sets. Check out Cosey Fanni Tutti's shows on NTSPresenter - Flo Dill, Producer - Lizzy King, Sound Recording - Jennifer Walton, Editor - Sam Stone, Mastering - Rory Bowens.Music - Cleaners from Venus - The Artichoke That Loved Me, courtesy of Martin Newell & Captured Tracks. In late 1976, the Institute of Contemporary Art or ICA gallery in London unveiled its recent exhibition ‘Prostitution', a retrospective group show by established art collective COUM-Transmissions. The collective, no stranger to confrontation, couldn't have predicted the reaction their work would receive, but upon opening, the show was was immediately met with vitriolic reviews in the press, mentioned in the Houses of Parliament and censorship restrictions were placed on some of the pornographic images. The Conservative MP Nicholas Fairbairn famously said “These people are the wreckers of civilisation" and rows ensued about public funding for the arts. The fallout was hard. Suzanne Ciani is a true pioneer. One of the world's first synth heroes. “The diva of the diode.” Ciani began experimenting with electronic music in 1960s California, at a time when to do so wasn't just about a new style of music, but about creating a whole new language: a new form of music with this new technology. Like Delia Derbyshire and Cosey Fanni Tutti and many other female pioneers, it's taken time for the world to catch up and for Ciani to be recognised for quite how significant her cultural contribution runs across how we hear what we hear. Now in her mid seventies, she shows no signs of slowing down, she speaks with Paul about some of the key musical moments in her life: California of the 60s, New York of the 70s, the importance of putting emotion into music and her work in spatial sound. Suzanne Ciani is touring from march to September this year, check out her tourdates herePaul's debut book, Coming To Berlin: Global Journeys Into An Electronic Music And Club Culture Capital is out now on Velocity Press. Season three of The Film Scorer Podcast is finally here! Joining me is legendary musician and composer Cosey Fanni Tutti. Film music fans may not be quite as familiar with Cosey, who's best known for being a founding member of the band Throbbing Gristle, arguably the pioneers of industrial music. However, Cosey has also been busy with solo work, collaborations, and even film scoring. As such, we primarily discuss her score for the film Delia Derbyshire: The Myths & The Legendary Tapes, about the influential electronic musician and composer Delia Derbyshire. We also talk about her new book, Re-Sisters: The Lives and Recordings of Delia Derbyshire, Margery Kempe and Cosey Fanni Tutti, which serves as a "meditation on womanhood, creativity and self-expression, and a revelatory exploration into the lives of three visionary artists" (description courtesy of Amazon). Cosey's score is fascinating, weird, and, at times, completely haunting; I really enjoyed it. It released on September 16 and is available on all major platforms and on vinyl from Cargo Records. Cosey's other music, both as a solo artist and in her various collaborations and bands, is also widely available.
Today's incredible guest on Electronically Yours is the incomparably talented and fascinating Cosey Fanni Tutti. Best known for her time in the avant-garde groups Throbbing Gristle and Chris & Cosey, she has become a very famous conceptual performance artist who has inspired a generation… be amazed and fascinated. Ladies and gentlemen, her life is her art and her art is her life - the great Cosey Fanny Tutti... Nik Colk Void's new LP, Bucked Up Space, is her ninth studio album, but her first as a solo artist. Based in Norfolk, Void is an electronic musician and analogue synthesiser virtuoso who forms part of both Factory Floor and Carter Tutti Void (with Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti of pioneering industrial group Throbbing Gristle). Her work has been released on iconic labels like DFA, Mute and Throbbing Gristle's Industrial Records, and in late 2017 she released 33 33, a collaborative record as NPVR with the late Peter Rehberg of Editions Mego. In this week's Resident Advisor Exchange, Void talks about her relationship with Rehberg and how her confidence grew significantly through their working together. Without him, she explains, she may not have found the voice and the language she was looking for to put out her own full-length record. It is fitting and meaningful, therefore, that on April 8th, Bucked Up Space came out on Editions Mego. In conversation with RA writer Katie Thomas, Nik Colk Void discusses her album, the process of mastering analogue synths, the art and value of collaboration and affirming performances—plus details about a new Factory Floor record that's on the horizon. Tracklist: Nik Colk Void - Big Breather (Editions Mego) Nik Colk Void - FlatTime (Editions Mego)

For this episode we are honoured to be joined by the wonderful filmmaker Caroline Catz to discuss her brilliant debut feature film Delia Derbyshire: the Myths and Legendary Tapes, which Catz wrote, directed and stars in, as Derbyshire. It's a unique music doc/drama hybrid that is well worth the time and is currently on the BBC iPlayer in the UK. The conversation covers Caroline's process for the film, her relationship to Derbyshire's music and that of the Radiophonic Workshop, as well as venturing into women as artists in relation to Derbyshire, one of the film's collaborators Cosey Fanni Tutti and Catz herself. We are grateful that Caroline took time out to talk to us and we really like this conversation. Please excuse Neil's cold but as the intro makes clear, this was not our usual day at the Cinematologists office. You can listen to The Cinematologists for free, wherever you listen to podcasts: click here to follow. We also produce an extensive monthly newsletter and bonus/extended content that is available on our Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/cinematologists. You can become a member for only $2.50. We also really appreciate any reviews you might write about the show (please send us what you have written and we'll mention it) and sharing on Social Media is the lifeblood of the podcast so please do that if you enjoy the show. ——— Show Notes: In the bonus episode, we discuss the music of the following artists [spiritual heirs of Derbyshire and the Radiophonic Workshop] - Kelly Lee Owens, Jane Weaver and Broadcast, who are all amazing and who you should all check out. And of course, the composer of our own theme tune, the mighty Gwenno. ——— Music Credits: ‘Theme from The Cinematologists' Written and produced by Gwenno Saunders. Mixed by Rhys Edwards. Gazelle Twin, Lucrecia Dalt, Cosey Fanni Tutti and Keeley Forsyth, four artists making truly original music outside of the mainstream, discuss how they use electronics to build different themes in their music, working within and breaking out of their sonic comfort zones, and how making music leads to creative catharsis. Composer and producer Gazelle Twin explores industrial and avant-garde sounds through her albums, soundtracks and remixes. Her latest record, Deep England, sees her collaborate with electronic drone choir NYX. Sharing her experiences is Lucrecia Dalt, a sound artist from Columbia now based in Berlin. She draws on influences from her academic background as a civil engineer, encompassing electronics and avant-garde sounds in her compositions. Cosey Fanni Tutti is an English performance artist, author and musician who is known for her ground-breaking band Throbbing Gristle, which she co-founded in 1976. She has released music as a solo artist and as part of the duo Chris & Cosey. Keeley Forsyth is an artist and actress from the north of England, known for starring in many acclaimed film and TV series over the last 20 years. At the start of 2020 she released her atmospheric debut album Debris, in which she explores personal experiences through minimal arrangements and her evocative, intimate vocal.
En 1981, un duo anglais emprunte la voie d'une musique électronique en devenir. C'est Chris and Cosey, et voici leur titre This is me.
Robin has often mentioned how much he enjoyed Cosey Fanni Tutti's book Art Sex Music so it was only right we finally get her on the show. She joins Robin and Josie to talk about Hull, the counter culture, finding your own path in art and feminism in the 70s. Josie was having all myriad of technical difficulties during this recording so please bear with her! And also please note that there is some discussion about the 'scene' in the 60s and 70s that people may find upsetting. Philippe Petit is a whirlwind! He's produced a ton of recordings - and many of them are collaborations, some of them with surprising collaborators (Lydia Lunch and Cosey Fanni Tutti, for example). I describe him as 'fearless' in his approach to music creation: he's willing to use whatever tool is at hand, and dive in 110%. Lately, his main tool has been the Buchla Easel - but he's employed everything from a Moog to turntables, all the while making uniquely Philippe Music. In our discussion, we chat about everything from his background DJing and running labels, to his views on the social nature of music, through his excitement behind the Modulisme radio program and his recent exploits with the Buchla. All of it is massively interesting, and the Modulisme site provides a great location to immerse oneself in the modular work of some amazing artists. To learn more about Philippe (a self-described Musical Travel Agent...), you can check out his website (http://www.philippepetit.info/), listen to a variety of work on his Bandcamp site (https://philippepetitamusicaltravel-agent.bandcamp.com/) and check out the radio show at Modulisme (https://modulisme.info/). There is a wealth to be learned - and enjoyed - on these sites, so dive in!

When it comes to uncompromising musicians and artists, Cosey Fanni Tutti is in a league of her own. As part of Throbbing Gristle in the 1970s, she helped pioneer industrial music and her solo shows, modelling work and ‘actions', as she calls them – including those that were part of the cultish collective and commune COUM Transmissions – blurred the lines between performance art, sex and subversion. Once considered shocking, her gallery shows shut down, now her vision is celebrated. After TG, Cosey and her partner Chris Carter formed the musical duo Chris and Cosey and moved to the Norfolk countryside, where Cosey takes great pride in her blooming garden. It's quite a contrast with the machine-led music that comes out of their home studio, which is where Cosey made TUTTI, her first solo album since 1982, released in 2019. Cosey's autobiography, Art Sex Music, depicts a truly alternative thinker for whom acceptance is the last thing on her mind. An audience with Cosey is a real insight into a life dedicated to the decidedly unsubtle art of not giving a fuck and here she takes us into her beloved garden one sunny afternoon to explain just how she does it. Today's episode is an experimental one, in that I have a new ~podcasting~ setup...set up. Where I used to sort of lay out the show ahead of time and give myself finite space to speak in the beginning, middle, and end...and end up getting cut off when I'm on a roll by the next song, now I'm running the music bed and tracks I'm playing from different sources, and picking them live as I go along, giving me all the time to yap on as long as I need to. You're welcome. Also, the new Cosey Fanni Tutti is 100% mind-blowing. In John's own words, "Cosey's work has continually innovated, challenged and outraged since the start of the 1970s, Whether as a member of the transgressive art collective Coum Transmissions or the boundary destroying industrial group Throbbing Gristle, or as an electronic musical with her partner Chris Carter. Since the 70's, her work has brought her into direct conflict with the police, the tabloid press, the British government, the music industry and the art establishment, and despite this, she remains to this day a uniquely progressive artist." About Z_VK: Z_VK is the project of Berlin based duo Konstantin Gervis and Jessica Kert. Konstantin is a product specialist for the modular company TipTop Audio. He is also known for his live modular techno sets. On top of that he is also the bass player in the band Feld. Jessica has been involved in music since the age of 12, and holds a position at the well known modular shop, Schneidersladen. About this set: A homage to Throbbing Gristle One day in mid September, 2018 Konstantin decided to make a modular patch with 5 TG sounds simultaneously using one Tiptop Audio TG ONE, three regular ONE’s and a ONE prototype. Very quickly Jessica joined the experiment and it escalated into an intense period of recording sessions that lasted for about two weeks. From those sessions came this recording TG, I love you (vol 2). The record represents our deepest gratitude, love and respect to one of the greatest and most influential bands of all times. Technical information: The samples were processed by variety of eurorack modules. The ones that made the most impact were Future Sound Systems TG03 and TG04 Gristleizer modules, Serge filters and especially Resonant Equalizer, Tiptop Audio Z2040 Filters and Z-DSP digital signal processors (Valhalla Shimmer, various Reverbs and Delays), Industrial Music Electronics Tyme Sefari looper and AJH Synth Mega-Phase 12 phaser. Very few non TG sounds were used in the recording, a few drum sounds (BD909 and Hats909), white noise, analogue Oscillator (Z3000) and some feedback. No overdubs were performed or edits made, every piece was recorded in one take. We would like to thank Chris Carter and Cosey Fanni Tutti of Throbbing Gristle as well as MUTE records for supporting this release and their never ending inspiration, thank you. Starting her career in the late 1960s, Cosey Fanni Tutti went on to become a seismic force in experimental music. Whether delivering confrontational performance art as part of COUM Transmissions, pioneering industrial music with Throbbing Gristle, or constructing a prototype for acid house in Carter Tutti, her work has frequently been years ahead of its time. In her fascinating lecture at the 2010 Red Bull Music Academy in London, she delved into emotion, meaning and provocation in art.
Apologies for going off the air last week, moving takes a while and ate up all of my time. Today's episode features a dazzling display of talent, tracks by DEZORAH, She Returns From War, Preoccupations, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Sun Ra & His Intergalactic Arkestra, as well as a special vignette for the late, great Glenn Branca among the rubble. The actor and writer Maxine Peake meets the musician and performance artist Cosey Fanni Tutti. Maxine Peake was born just outside Bolton. Her television credits include leading roles in the series Dinnerladies, Shameless and Silk. In 2014 she played Hamlet at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. She has written for radio and the stage, and her play about Lillian Bilocca - who campaigned for better safety in the fishing industry - was part of Hull's City of Culture celebrations. Cosey Fanni Tutti was born in Hull, and began her artistic career there in 1969, when she joined a subversive art collective called COUM Transmissions. Founded by Genesis P-Orridge, the group staged surreal events or interventions around Hull and beyond. Cosey worked for two years as a model for sex magazines and films to create a show about pornography and the sex industry called Prostitution. When it opened at the Institute of Contemporary Art in 1976, it prompted walkouts, made headlines, and provoked questions in Parliament. Cosey co-founded the industrial music band Throbbbing Gristle with Genesis P-Orridge, Peter Christopherson and Chris Carter. Chris and Cosey later created their own band and now perform under the name Carter Tutti. Producer Clare Walker.
Gemma Cairney continues The Leisure Society, a new series interviewing cultural icons, tastemakers, artists and musicians about their pastimes, hobbies, collections and loves beyond what they are known for. This week Gemma visits the home of Cosey Fanni Tutti, performer from avant-garde group Throbbing Gristle, whose art and music inspired a generation and rocked the establishment - to talk about her passion for gardening. As well as a guided tour around her garden, Cosey discusses her background in stripping, sexual politics how she was hired to dance in Sylvester's video for Mighty Real, and how she maintained her resilience in the face of adversity. Over the past few weeks The Quietus has been lucky enough to see Liars play live three times, at the Visions Festival, Green Man and last night at Rough Trade East, where Angus Andrew and his new bandmates managed to conjure a special energy that transported us somewhere weird of their own making - it was as if we weren't in a shop. After 15 years of operation the new Liars album TFCF is the first Andrew has made on his own, and it stands out as one of the finest in a remarkable set that few of their peers have come close to. On this week's Quietus Hour, Angus Andrew speaks to Luke Turner about 10 tracks that shaped the record, and gives insights into its creation out in a remote part of the Australian bush. He discusses how the sound of nature made it into every track on TFCF, the move from LA to his homeland, the separation from Aaron Hemphill... and why he's taken to wearing a wedding dress onstage. Subscribe to The Quietus Hour podcast here for all our past episodes including specials with the likes of Thurston Moore, Shirley Collins, Cosey Fanni Tutti, John Lydon, Gary Numan and more. Liars return to the UK this autumn including a date at Heaven in London on October 27th and Newcastle's Boiler Shop on October 29th.
This week we're chuffed to welcome Cosey Fanni Tutti down from rural Norfolk to our exhaust-basted urban HQ for the latest special edition of The Quietus Hour. Luke Turner recently worked with Cosey curating live events around the COUM Transmissions exhibition at Hull City Of Culture, and today he picks up the threads to talk about both that and the reception to her recently-published memoir 'Art Sex Music'. Nine songs chosen by Cosey (taking in The Small Faces, Nico and the Velvet Underground to Leonard Cohen and Imogen Heap to Gazelle Twin) chart her life through hazy days in 1960s Hull via Throbbing Gristle and Chris and Cosey to the present as we chat about, well, art, sex and music.
On the latest episode of the Talkhouse Podcast, host Elia Einhorn sits down with Talkhouse Film's Editor-in-Chief Nick Dawson and then Talkhouse Music Editor-in-Chief Amy Rose Spiegel (with Talkhouse editorial intern Sophie Kemp in tow!) to discuss some of their favorite moments from the past few months, which include discussions of privilege, Tom Cruise's penis, clothing essentials, stripping, among other topics. Featured here are conversations between Talib Kweli and Patterson Hood of Drive-By Truckers, comedy multihyphenates Ken Marino and Paul Scheer, Cosey Fanni Tutti from Throbbing Gristle and Patti Smith Group's Lenny Kaye, standup stalwarts Todd Barry and Chris Gethard, and more. Plus there's an unreleased outtake in which Ryley Walker and Teenage Fanclub's Norman Blake riff on the weirdness of settling back into real life after tour, and a closing moment that would move Alvin Ailey to tears. Subscribe to the Talkhouse Podcast now on iTunes or Stitcher to stay in the loop about future episodes, too!
In this week's Pocket Edition, we talk to Shihad's Tom Larkin about musicians' mental health, Robert Scott from The Bats, and Cosey Fanni Tutti from English industrial icons Throbbing Gristle.
Cosey Fanni Tutti is a founding member of the avant-garde band Throbbing Gristle, who pre-empted the industrial musical movement. Alea Balzer talked to her about her recently-released autobiography Art Sex Music.
On the occasion of her autobiography Art Sex Music's American book release, industrial music pioneer and acclaimed performance artist Cosey Fanni Tutti (Throbbing Gristle, Chris and Cosey) sat down with Patti Smith Group's Lenny Kaye to discuss her fascinating life on the margins. Their conversation, which took place at McNally Jackson bookstore in New York, takes in the rise and fall of Throbbing Gristle, transgressive art shows, a hilarious story about Tutti using "Because The Night" during her strip routine, and much more. It begins with a stage-setting reading from Art Sex Music. Many thanks to McNally Jackson and Faber and Faber for allowing Talkhouse to record and release this fantastic conversation. Also, we want to hear from you! Head on over to bit.ly/TalkhouseSurvey to fill out a two-minute survey about you, our audience, so we can hear about how to bring you the best conversations. To sweeten the deal, we’ll be raffling off a Fender Mahogany Acoustic Guitar, a rad nine-LP prize pack courtesy of the great crews at Secretly Group and Dead Oceans, a custom Levi’s jean jacket, and four $25 Amazon gift cards. Good luck! —Elia Einhorn, Talkhouse Music Podcast host and producer
Last month, The Quietus travelled to Hull for the final weekend of events that we programmed with Cosey Fanni Tutti and Cabinet Gallery to run alongside the COUM Transmissions retrospective at the Humber Street Gallery. Anthony Child AKA Tony Surgeon played a vivid soundtrack to a recontextualised and edited version of Paul Verhoeven's Showgirls and Carter Tutti Void closed things beautifully with one of their most intense and perfect sets. Earlier in the day we set up a temporary Quietus Hour Studio in the gallery café to produce a special edition of our wireless programme and podcast devoted to COUM and its legacy. Tune into the show to hear to Luke and John speak to Cosey, Hull City Of Culture's Sam Hunt and Sophie Coletta about the exhibition, as well as some passable chat on JDo's former Hull home, including Dead Bod the infamous graffiti seagull. As Todd the dog barks in the background we play music from the COUM diaspora, including Throbbing Gristle, Chris & Cosey, Coil, Carter Tutti Void and Psychic TV. Thanks to our producer Seb White and all at Hull City Of Culture 2017. Subscribe to The Quietus Hour Podcast on iTunes here.

England’s Hidden Reverse: A Secret History of the Esoteric Underground was originally published in 2003 and quickly went out of print, an annoying but appropriate reflection of its subject matter. The most comprehensive account to date of first-generation British industrial music, the book has recently been given new life by Strange Attractor Press. To mark the publication of this updated edition, we’ve put together a special episode featuring the music of Throbbing Gristle, Coil, Current 93 and Nurse With Wound. Numerous characters from England’s Hidden Reverse also appear, including David Keenan himself, Cosey Fanni Tutti, Genesis P-Orridge, David Tibet, Jhonn Balance, Peter Christopherson, Steven Stapleton, Thomas Ligotti, Danielle Dax, Clive Barker, Derek Jarman and William S. Burroughs, along with a cast of confused and indignant inquisitors… http://strangeattractor.co.uk/shoppe/englands-hidden-reverse/
The third episode of the new UKPNW@40 podcast spotlights the PROSTITUTION event held in October, 1976 at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London which included a performance by industrial pioneers Throbbing Gristle. The show, apart from TG, included pornographic images of band member Cosey Fanni Tutti, opening punk band Chelsea (appearing under the name "L.S.D.") in their debut appearance, a stripper performing between the bands, art installations including used Tampax in glass and transvestite security guards. Join host Bill Z as he details another historic event, this time from the more transgressive end of the early UKPNW period!
