This week, we're joined by the witty funnyman you'll know from the likes of 'The Apprentice: You're Fired' and 'Bake Off: An Extra Slice' – it's the incredibly charming Tom Allen.Tom joins Kate to take a delightful stroll down memory lane and reminisce about his Bromley roots. Growing up as a slightly awkward, top-hat-wearing teenager with a penchant for fine silverware and dinner parties, Tom's journey through school wasn't exactly focused on finding his tribe but rather on beating to the sound of his own drum. Describing himself as a 40-year-old man trapped inside a teenage body as he navigated those early years, we fast forward to his life today at that age he always felt he was meant to be and explore the full journey it took to get there.***Please take the time to rate and review us on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your pods. A recent poll showed that 45% of young adults still live with their parents. Joy Behar, of The View, mocked these types of people, telling them to get jobs. Is that the only reason this is happening though? Do you think it's okay for young adults to still be living with their parents, as long as they're working and contributing to society?Support the show: http://www.wbap.com/chris-krok/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Do you remember how you felt about food as a kid? Could you pronounce the words on the ingredient list of a bag of chips? Well, 11-year-old Jude Smiley and 8-year-old Luke Smiley are just your average boys who like soccer, video games, and donuts. But, there's one major difference - in the Smiley household, they eat clean. Jude remembers life before eating clean and indulging in all the sugary snacks kids love. When Luke was born, things changed and their mom Jen started swapping regular butter for grass-fed butter and cane sugar for coconut sugar. It's tough getting kids to eat clean but with a bit of creativity, the boys have grown to love their mom's clean recipes, especially her chip chicken. Jude and Luke aren't restricted. They eat french toast sticks at grandma's house on the weekends and drink sports drinks at their soccer games. It's all about balance for the Smiley boys, who gladly name some of their favorite processed snacks. The important thing for Jen is that they learn the connection between the food they eat and how they feel. In this episode, Jen talks to Jude and Luke about what it's like having a mom who reads the labels, acknowledging how unhealthy food makes them feel, and their favorite mom-approved recipes. Key Takeaways [01:05] - Life with a mom who reads all the labels. [03:58] - The good and bad about reading labels. [04:46] - How Luke ate before Jen was a food coach. [05:41] - Remembering when Jen achieved 1,000 and 10,000 followers. [06:21] - How Jude and Luke feel about being in Jen's videos. [06:54] - Jude and Luke's favorite clean recipes. [08:02] - What Luke's friends think about reading the labels and eating clean. [09:42] - Jude and Luke's favorite recipes that aren't mom-approved. [11:27] - Jude names one bad ingredient. [12:27] - Luke names one good ingredient. [13:30] - How students reacted to Luke's lunch. [13:59] - How Jude and Luke feel after eating bad food. [14:22] - How Jude and Luke feel at parties and games with the food. [15:28] - The drink of choice for Jude and Luke. [15:44] - Getting to know Jude and Luke with a game of this or that. [19:57] - Jude and Luke name something listeners don't know about Jen. [20:46] - Jude and Luke's Wake Up moments. Quotes [02:08] - “When we go to groceries, she just takes up something that looks good. And then she flips to the back of it. If it says acids or sugars, then she puts it right back.” ~ Jude Smiley [03:04] - “The more labels that we read, the more that we know about the foods we're eating and we can stop those businesses from producing those [bad] foods.” ~ Jude Smiley [03:53] - “If you eat the bad stuff, then you feel really horrible the next day. Living with parents and grandparents may have distinct advantages.....What are they?
If you haven't already seen Aaron Clarey's video called "Move Out or Stay Home Rent Free" I'm adding a link to it in the description below. I this video the Grand Puba Aaron Clarey says that it's a good idea to stay with your parents when you're young until you can save money for a down payment instead of moving out. Other guys like Rizzle Dizzle say that if you stay with your parents your mental health will suffer if you live with your parents. But I want to talk about a buddy of mine, let's call him John. He currently lives with his mother and he's a man going his own way that still dates but he's doing it to find his Unicorn Nawalt Princess. He's in his mid thirties and lately when he goes on dates women he tells them he lives with his mother and they are no longer disappointed in him and over the last couple of years many women have told him that he must have saved a lot of money living at home all those years, which he has. Women are good at sniffing out resources and now it seems that guys living at home with nice cars and tons of savings are starting to come onto the radar of smart women seeking a host. John's original goal was to purchase a house for cash. He set this goal back in two thousand and three when three bedroom homes in his area were only two hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Similar homes today he has almost double that and cost eight hundred to nine hundred thousand dollars for a crappy semi detached house. I was looking at prices of homes in San Francisco and similar homes were actually cheaper in that city then Toronto, Canada. And San Francisco is a city people actually want to live in. I also read a news story a couple of weeks ago about how housing in Toronto is more expensive then Romeand housing in Vancouver is more expensive the Paris, France. And with the cost of housing getting so crazy expensive in Canada most women know they won't find a guy that can afford to buy them a house so now they are looking for the second best thing, a single guy that lives with his parents, preferably an only child that stands to inherit property from his parents.Video Request-Move Out or Stay Home Rent Freehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdTBv...Marcus A. One way to cut housing costs is for multiple generations of a family to live together: often children, their parents and their grandparents. The concept isn't new and it has many benefits, including affordability in expensive housing markets. But how do you make it work both financially and personally? We hear from a family that moved three generations into a home they designed and built in North Bay, Ont. Plus, Rob talks to Murtaza Haider, a professor of real estate management at Ryerson University, and real estate consultant Stephen Moranis about what multigenerational housing looks like in Canada. They also look at tips for people who want to move forward with this type of housing arrangement.
Chad and Jared get together to talk about perceptions of adults who still live with their parents. Obviously, those perceptions vary by culture, and Chad and Jared discuss that. Thriving Relationship in COVID (0:00:00)The amount of celebrity divorces this year has been astounding. But thanks to COVID, many people can relate to marriage struggles in a time of stress, uncertainty, and restlessness working from home. The pandemic has taken its toll on people's well-being, safety, mental health, and so much more. So how can we manage everything going on in the months ahead and create a relationship that's stronger than ever. Here to talk with us today is Dr. Diana Wiley. Dr. Diana has practiced for more than thirty years as a licensed marriage and family therapist, a board-certified sex therapist, and a gerontologist. She also just recently released her book Love in the Time of Corona which can be found on Amazon. Autonomy while Living with Parents (0:21:54)Moving out of your parents' house is one of the biggest milestones of your young adult years. But with the pandemic changing most of our plans, some of us are returning back to our childhood homes, not knowing when we'll be moving out again. Even though moving back in with your parents can be tough, it doesn't have to mean a complete loss of autonomy. In fact, keeping your freedom might be easier than we think, even while living with mom and dad. Here to tell us a little bit about what we can do to make our moving in experience better is sociology professor Deborah Carr. One Step Further (0:52:46)Here on The Lisa Show, we love celebrating people's accomplishments, especially when they impact the lives of others. Today, we are doing just that with our next guest, Joylette Hylick. Joylette is the daughter of Katherine Johnson-- National Geographic Kids and ‘Hidden Figures' hero—whose life and accomplishments in the STEM field are highlighted in her autobiographical picture book One Step Further: My Story of Math, the Moon, and a Lifelong Mission. Joylette is here to tell us about her mother's accomplishments, legacy and influence breaking down gender and racial barriers so that her daughters and millions of young women could “reach for the stars” like she did. Financially Supporting Adult Children (1:05:28)It's no secret that raising a child is expensive. The USDA estimates that a couple will spend a little over $12,000 annually per child in a middle-income home. But what happens when they move out of the house? Unfortunately, they don't suddenly become financially independent as soon as they turn 18. So, what do you do? Some financial experts say that parents should budget anywhere from $9,000 to $13,000 for a college student's first year of college. Here to help us know how much we should be financially supporting our adult kids is financial expert and founder of Mitlin Financial, Lawrence Sprung. 2021 Best Cars (1:26:08)Buying a new car is a really satisfying experience. But as great as getting a new car is, deciding which car is right for you can be grueling, especially when there are so many options. Obviously, you want something reliable with good gas mileage. But what about four-wheel drive, seat heaters and a rearview backup camera? And when the car salesperson tells you it's ok to fudge your budget a little... do you listen? Well to help cut through the noise and narrow down your search, we've invited Jamie Deaton, executive editor of U.S News Best Cars and friend of the show, to speak with us this morning about the 2021 Best Car Brand Awards.

Our first REAL episode is here! This week, Frankie and Marisa discuss (ramble about) the pros and cons of living at home in your mid-twenties over several margaritas. Then that episode got deleted because *mercury in retrograde* so we rerecorded it over a mature glass of red wine. Does it kill your sex life or are you the world’s most financially responsible person? I also need you to know Frankie didn’t talk to her parents for an hour while we recorded this and had to make up for that with two phone calls the next hour. SOS. And this week Frankie has fixed her use of the word "like" and Marisa became plagued by it. Sry!!!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/AYSWSDT)

In California, living with parents has become necessary for many young adults trying to save money on rent. Around 37 percent of young people ages 18 to 34 are living with their parents, according to Census data. And increasingly, those living at home are from richer coastal areas. So what does that mean for black and brown people who have been historically denied access to home ownership -- the gateway to wealth in America? Guest: Matt Levin, data and housing reporter for CALMatters and cohost of the Gimme Shelter podcast. Here's a link to Matt's full story. Affordability is of course a huge issue in Metro Vancouver, and time and time again we hear from young people who say it's not right that they can't afford to buy a home in the city they grew up in. But one local student at SFU is approaching this in a different way. And she's posing the question: is living as an adult, at home with your parents, really such a bad thing after all? She wrote about this for the Tyee and she joins me now in studio to discuss her take on this. Zariya Khan - how are you today? Guest: Zariya Khan Student at Simon Fraser University
Subscribe To Bulldog Mindset YouTube Channel: https://bulldogmindset.com/bulldog-yt-podcast Are You A Bulldog? TAKE THE QUIZ: https://bulldogmindset.com/bulldog-quiz-podcast Hello Bulldogs! John Sonmez from Bulldog Mindset Here, where I teach you how to go from the Victim Mindset to the Bulldog Mindset. Today I'm gonna respond and give some constructive feedback to a comment from a subscriber, at the age of 33 years old still living with his parents who just gave up on life, who doesn't have any ambitions nor anything to lookout for in life other than smoking beers. Who sees best moment in his life back when he was homeless in Seattle. When I read this, this comment hit me hard, there is so much in here, one of them is that when you don't have goals in life, you can end up feeling cornered, feeling imprisoned, feeling that life is nothing but a heavy toll. This happen little by little, it didn't just happen with one big event, it was a chain of events, of small decisions that ultimately led to where this person is. When you don't want to do the work, the heavy work, the HARD work, this is where you can end up. The best moments of your life are when you land a good song on the radio. This is what happens when you give up on life. Another thing is, the victim mindset is very strong in him, this is why i push the bulldog mindset so much on this channel. And can't allow anyone to interpret having bad things happen to them as a reason to develop the victim mindset. He does mention having failed emotional relationships and being emotionally abused as a child, but again, who didn't? parents can do that when they have no clue what they're doing, kids can be mean and harsh on each other, the world can be an unjust place and get abused in many ways, you can be the best partner and give it your all but your partner end up screwing everything up. But that's not an excuse to act like a wimp, to give up on life. If you do hard stuff, and live up to the limit and get on the uncomfortable side of life, so the little things in life can't derail you. So when The real need arise you can stand up and face reality. I want you to be strong, to have abundance in life. To be skinned enough, to not allow yourself o be crushed. To be honest, the gentleman's life isn't really that hard, he didn't really be crushed to be honest. I don't want to pick on you nor make fun of you, I want to help you in anyway I can, that is why i'm being tough on you. I want to give you the advise you need not the advise you want to hear. You can handle strong issues in life, you have to be strong. Everyone has to start at some point. And here is how you can do it, just pick up heavy work and follow through, go running, lifting weight my friend ... you might not be able to find a job right now. But when you're doing hard things and making progress on them you start advancing in life. You motioned you like playing piano well go become a bloody Mozart ! You have in you and I believe in you. You're only 33 and you have a lot of amazing life in front you. Take me my life from 33 to 38 in drastically different. You can become a millionaire no joke. You can master a lot of aspects of your life. When you have your pride and figuring out how to survive alone, how to be dependent, knowing that you can make it on your own and improving. Then my friend YOU WILL FIND FULFILLMENT. Even if you still live with your parents, don't give up on your life .

James takes your calls on the pathetic state of mind that allows a grown unmarried father Michael Rotondo to want to stay at his parents' house — while saying he doesn't want to. (BTW: He's gotta be out by June 1, but he can't afford boxes. A pizza chain offered him a job at any of their 250 locations, with $1101 signing bonus. Might be a bad idea b/c he'd sued Best Buy for gender discrimination.) Millennials are reportedly 34% poorer than expected. (Jesse's encouraged a lot of people to move out on their own.) Pro-same-sex-marriage Ireland goes also pro-abortion. British conservative activist Tommy Robinson was arrested, reportedly for speaking out against Muslim rapists! So-called "hate speech" is outlawed in the UK, which means you can't tell the truth about Muslims, radical homosexuals, or other fake victim groups whose members may feel offended or riot. James thinks the Alt-Right, MGTOW, Men's Rights Movement, Conservatives, and Christians have all become victim groups, maybe partly because they're sick of fake left-wing "victims," and they see themselves as the real victims. Same with people who blame their parents for the way they turned out — you don't want to be a victim, but you have to be honest too; otherwise you're just in denial. BTW: Jesse appeared in an interview with Gavin McInnes (Get Off My Lawn on CRTV) talking about "lazy" blacks, which was shocking to Gavin, but Jesse was dead serious. ALSO BTW: Tuesday, May 29 at Starbucks, the stores are supposed to be closed to give employees "racial sensitivity training," Colin Flaherty reminds us. FINALLY, tomorrow's Memorial Day (Monday). Kinda sad that most of us younger people haven't been in the military so can't relate to parents, grandparents, etc., who were. But who wanted to serve under W. Bush (looking back) or much less Obama (given horrible rules of engagement)? Under Trump, yes. Call-in: 888-775-3773. After realizing the new job wasn't working out and health issues were taking a toll, Bob and Holly were forced to move back in with her parents. Listen as they describe what they learned from the experience.
In this episode of Creating Real Marriages that Last, we talk about young adults living who are living with parents. It’s a much more common occurrence than it used to be. When I was growing up, the idea of a young adult moving back in with parents wasn’t even a thought to me. To be fair, there are a lot of different dynamics happening for young adults in today’s world. There’s the incredible burden of college debt, and jobs are difficult to find. Kids are maturing more slowly than in previous generations, and some parents are less mature too. For a young adult to move in with mom and dad isn’t always bad. It’s OK as long as there is a plan for moving forward.
