What if the biggest opportunities in your life aren't about talent, but about visibility? In this episode of the Passive Prospecting Podcast, I share the incredible story of singing the National Anthem during America's 250th Birthday celebration at Ellis Island and the lessons it taught me about creating opportunity instead of waiting for it. If you're building a business, growing on YouTube for Real Estate, or simply trying to stand out in a crowded world, this conversation will change the way you think about success. Most people believe extraordinary opportunities happen because of luck. I don't. They happen because people consistently show up, become visible, and keep putting themselves in the right rooms. Levi Lascsak and I discuss why visibility creates opportunity, why competition shouldn't scare you, and how small actions can completely change the direction of your life and business. Whether you're a real estate agent, entrepreneur, or content creator, these principles apply to you.======Learn how to get Sellers from Your YouTube Channel: https://linkless.io/mrZ2tqwSchedule a Call With Us to Discuss Partnering With eXp - https://bit.ly/PassiveProspectingPartnershipHere's the link to try a free trial of Channel Studio: https://linkless.io/egH8eah

As usual, all sorts of other special events and attractions were planned this year – with 3,538 total entries, the second largest in the show's history, beyond seeing all the hottest new Ford products – even the Mustang GTD – and thousands of classic and collectible Fords on display. Those included a 60th Anniversary Bronco Showcase celebrating the past, present, and future of the iconic SUV; a 50th Anniversary celebration of the Starsky & Hutch Torino, featuring three screen-used vehicles, nearly two dozen additional examples on the Showfield, and one of the stars of the television series, Antonio Fargas, who portrayed Huggy Bear. There were also displays commemorating the legacies of Roush, the Ford Taurus, and the Olympic Sprint special editions as well as all the other regular attractions such as the Vehicle Parades, Select Displays, Car Corral, Manufacturers Midway, the massive Flea Market and Vendors area, great food, the Women's Oasis and even Kids Activities. Grow Clinton Podcast Episode 248 highlights one of the community's most anticipated summer traditions—the Clinton 4th of July Festival. In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Angela Gabel and Dave Helscher, two of the dedicated volunteers behind this growing celebration along Clinton's riverfront. This year's festival is especially meaningful as it marks two major milestones: the 250th birthday of the United States and the 15th annual Clinton 4th of July Festival. What started as a community-focused event has grown into one of Clinton's favorite traditions, bringing families together for a full day of activities—all completely free to attend. That accessibility is intentional. The mission remains simple: create a space where families can celebrate Independence Day together without the barrier of admission costs. The day kicks off with the Red, White & Run 4-Miler at 8:00 a.m., starting at LumberKings Stadium and following a scenic route along the Mississippi River and Discovery Trail. Whether you are running, walking, or bringing a stroller or dog along, it is a welcoming way to begin the holiday.Morning activities continue with a grass volleyball tournament and wiffle ball at 9:00 a.m., followed by a bags tournament at 10:30 a.m. Then at 1:00 p.m., one of Clinton's most anticipated traditions takes center stage—the parade. Featuring local businesses, organizations, classic cars, emergency vehicles, youth groups, and performers, the parade remains a highlight of the day and is still open for entries. The festival officially opens at 2:00 p.m., transforming the riverfront into a hub of family-friendly activity. Attendees can enjoy bounce houses, carnival games, a petting zoo, barrel train rides, pedal tractors, food trucks, and live music. Pocket Constitutions will also be available while supplies last, adding a thoughtful patriotic touch to the celebration.Entertainment continues throughout the afternoon, beginning with the National Anthem performed by Alice Lind, followed by live music from Danny's Book Club from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wrestling will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., adding another layer of excitement to the lineup. The celebration carries into the evening with a LumberKings baseball game, offering another opportunity for the community to gather before the day concludes with fireworks along the Mississippi River. Widely regarded as one of the best fireworks displays in eastern Iowa, it provides a memorable ending to a full day of celebration. What makes this event truly special is the people behind it. The Clinton 4th of July Festival is organized entirely by volunteers who are committed to building a stronger, more connected community. Their work ensures that this tradition continues to grow while remaining accessible to everyone. To learn more about the festival, get involved, or stay updated, visit their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/FourthofJulyClintonIADo you have an idea for a certain topic or special guest to feature on the Grow Clinton Podcast? Newt talks with Fort McHenry National Park Ranger and historian Shannon McLucas about the remarkable story behind America's national anthem. McLucas recounts how Francis Scott Key, a Georgetown lawyer sent to negotiate a prisoner release, found himself aboard a British ship during the 25-hour bombardment of Fort McHenry in September 1814, unable to leave as he anxiously watched the battle unfold. His eyewitness emotional reaction became the poem "Defence of Fort M’Henry," set to a familiar tune and spreading virally across the young Republic within weeks. McLucas explains how the song endured for over a century before being officially designated the national anthem in 1931 under President Hoover. Their conversation also covers the hand-sewn garrison flag made by Baltimore seamstress Mary Pickersgill, what visitors can experience at Fort McHenry today, and how the fort celebrates the Fourth of July with a public reading of the Declaration of Independence.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Sarah and Nancy tackle the topic of patriotism and whether American is an unfinished experiment or a beautiful place unlike any other country. (But wait: Why can't it be both?) We talk about a Tom Hanks-produced Netflix series on the nation's founding, The American Experiment, which shows how much in-fighting and compromise were part of the country's creation. The series also introduces us to a peg-legged lady killer who wrote much of the Constitution (Gouverneur Morris) and confirms that Alexander Hamilton was, indeed, a hottie. Nancy just moved into her new pad, so you'll have to excuse a) the slight echo and b) the three (?) different times she had to leave to attend to a mover. Also discussed:* True or False: Sarah is a flower girl at Taylor Swift's wedding* True or False: Semiquincentennial is a real word* Happy graduation, Megan!* The downward mobility of college grads* That time Sarah doubled-down on becoming un-hireable* American Dream: Beautiful or unfinished? Let's debate!* “They tried to take away football”* JD Vance, Ben Rhodes, Zohran Mamdani, Al Gore* “What's a buggy whip?”* The Scots love Boston* Croats > Brits* James Madison isn't black???* George Washington: Amazing man, maybe not the most fun at the kegger* Writers who get our love: Emily Yoffe, Pamela Colloff, William Finnegan* How to make Nancy swoon? Tell her you know her bylinePlus, Avocado toast and doomsday, Sarah at the World Cup, Nancy only does the “F” in Marry, Fuck, Kill, and much more!REMINDER: First Sunday Zoom, July 5, 8pm ET/5pm PT.Also two questions: Are you in college? From Marian Anderson's 1939 concert at the Lincoln Memorial to Marvin Gaye singing the National Anthem at the NBA Finals, the theme of patriotism can be heard throughout African American music. Benjamin Ross offers selections from this rich musical heritage. Also: Ann Petry's The Street, published in 1946, was the first million-selling novel by an African American author. Keith Clark says Petry deserves to be in the pantheon of other great American writers like James Baldwin or Toni Morrison. Later in the show: Poet Walt Whitman in 1862 went searching for his brother George, who had been wounded in a Civil War battle. Mara Scanlon and Brady Earnhart say Whitman was so moved by the carnage he found that he worked as a nurse for the rest of the war. Also: While Edgar Allan Poe is the master of the macabre, Jerome McGann says Poe was more charming and humorous than his famous dark fiction suggests.

America 250 week kicked off with Joey and Nancy talking about the country's 250th birthday and reflecting on some surprising moments from early American history. Nancy also confessed to accidentally running over a squirrel while driving the WIVK truck to a Community Crew event at Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding. The crew recapped volunteering at Shangri-La, where they helped with chores around the property. Joey and Marvin ended up cleaning horse pens with pitchforks while others opted for less messy jobs like pulling weeds. Joey shared an update on his son's garden after they harvested their first homegrown cucumbers. The conversation turned into a preview of the upcoming Southern Life Expo, including Kid Boss booths, local vendors, food, and Christmas in July activities. Scrolling Through TikTok featured a grandmother who went viral for removing towels from pool chairs that vacationers were using to reserve spots hours before actually showing up. Joey and Nancy both agreed that if you're not at the pool, you shouldn't be saving chairs. Hot Tea included Alan Jackson's farewell concert in Nashville featuring appearances from George Strait, Eric Church, Carrie Underwood, and video tributes from Reba, Ella Langley, and Taylor Swift. They also discussed rumors surrounding a possible Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding and Bunny XO joking that being married to Jelly Roll was like serving a ten-year prison sentence. Nancy shared a dream-inspired invention: smart glasses that would recognize people and remind you how you know them before they walk up and start talking to you. A discussion about the upcoming America 250 celebration led Joey into sharing some fascinating Revolutionary War history he learned from a documentary, including why he unexpectedly found himself feeling a little sympathy for the British perspective. Lucky 7 for $50 to Farmacy Producer Karly gave a full recap of her speed dating experience from the weekend. While she didn't find a romantic connection, she met some interesting people, made a few new friends, and concluded that confidence goes a long way in that environment. Joey shared an emotional father-son milestone after helping his 12-year-old shave his mustache for the first time. The shaving session came after Joey and his wife unintentionally made their son feel self-conscious about it. Patriot Games gave away VIP tickets to Patriot Fest in Pigeon Forge.
