Some unreal action over the weekend: Cam runs through his trip to the Mick Fanning Golf Day, Quinn's getting into the Twitch streaming game and Tommy has been firing up the smoker. Unreal action during Alpha News with a Queenslander taking out a world boxing title and bears breaking in to California homes. We chatted with former St Kilda Football Club president, Andrew Plympton, in June 2022, about some of the key moments of his time at the Saints: Moorabbin to Waverley, Plugger, the 1997 Grand Final, Stan Alves and Tim Watson, and the move to Docklands.Sadly, Andrew passed away on the 24th of March, 2024, so this interview is here to serve as his legacy: a wonderful example of the hard work and passion that so many have for the St Kilda Football Club.Vale, Andrew Plympton.

Wow. That was a frustrating, depressing result. We do our best to dissect the Blues disaster, and move on to a new week - we're still in the hunt, still in the eight - with our 2023 AFL Finals future still in our own control. This week we're joined by 52-game Saints forward Craig O'Brien, who tells us about playing with Plugger, St Kilda FC's culture, and a hilarious story about getting suspended for chasing an umpire around the streets of Melbourne after a VFL game in 1992.Please remember to rate and review our show on whatever platform you're most comfortable with (iTunes, Facebook, Spotify etc), and always give us your feedback - good, bad or ugly - keep sending in your questions or comments on social media! We hope to be bringing you some awesome guests throughout the course of the year. Thanks as always to the great Lloyd Spiegel for the use of his "OWTS" as our intro track!
On this fun episode I get the pleasure of sitting down with August, guitarist and vocalist of the Chicago-based pop punk band Goodbye Sunshine. We chat about forming the band, writing light-hearted and short songs, how he got into punk rock through his sister, recording w/ Joe Queer, teaming up w/ Larry Parker and River Monster Records, and working on their new EP, “People Will Like You When You Stop Being Yourself.” We also talk about his upcoming trips to Wisconsin and Las Vegas, playing w/ the Repellents, recording of Goodbye Sunshine's debut EP “Keep Failing, You're Doing Great,” the over saturation of the Chicago scene, and playing outside of the city more. The conversation also discusses working w/ Little Lost Girl Media, playing the T1 Fest in Chicago, and their upcoming shows for the rest of the year. So sit back and get down w/ this episode of TIJAP. *** (songs by Goodbye Sunshine included in this episode are: “Hide and Seek,” “Smokestacks,” “Plugger,” and “Timber, I'm Falling in Love.” - used w/ permission.) ***
**** EXPLICIT LANGUAGE WARNING ***It was a "must win" game for the St Kilda Football Club if playing finals footy was a serious goal for AFL 2020, and they duly delivered. Despite a lack of champagne football, the Saints controlled the game from start to finish against the Bombers to walk away with another 4 points. Max King received a deserved nomination for the NAB AFL Rising Star award in Round 12 for 3 goals - and he really should have had five or six - and a dominant performance against one of the AFL's best in Michael Hurley. We take a look back at a solid victory, with eyes on the next prize: The Brisbane Lions at the GABBA.Former Saint and Hawthorn premiership swingman Russell Morris joined Unpluggered Podcast this week to talk about his 66 games at St Kilda FC, where the wonky #12 'social butterfly' won Tony Lockett's respect and quickly become a fan favourite at Moorabbin.Catch all our Zoom interviews on the Unpluggered YouTube page: don't forget to subscribe, rate and review Unpluggered wherever you listen or watch, and make sure to follow the lads on Twitter and stay connected with the podcast on all social media networks.Feedback? Welcome to TTO’s side show, Trough Talk, where we present a small collection of notable news stories that aren’t worth a full episode, but still worth mentioning. Turn That Off! is a podcast that examines the spectacle of popular culture, exploring the bizarre relationship between humans and the (often terrible) media we consume. Please note that we regularly explore unsavory corners of the internet, and don't condone everything we discuss. Tapping into an unusual reserve of “get up and go”, a young Simon Walsh did just that. His jet-setting start to his music career involved things like, y’know, hearing Larry Levan play and visiting Studio 54 in New York… Quickly fascinated by the science of promoting new releases, Simon went on to found what is now the biggest independent music promotion company in the UK, Music House, working on both the biggest commercial releases and more underground sounds. He’s still doing it today, decades on. In this episode of Tales From The Dancefloor, Simon shares many stories, including tales of being a radio plugger, and driving a very young Take That around the UK from gig to gig…
In the Midlands – and beyond, a welcome from every music radio station has been extended for decades to Bob Hermon, a record plugger with an enviable reputation - and a mantelpiece full of much-deserved awards. Bob moved quietly into the music industry as commercial radio began, moving the ranks in a fast-changing world at CBS and Sony, before rolling as an independent more recently. He is well-known as both servant and true friend to the music and radio industries for his knowledge, understanding, honesty and efficiency. In this edition of #Radiomoments ‘Conversations’, Bob tells of the radio industry he’s witnessed through the years and relates tales of artists he’s helped deliver to BBC and commercial stations for over forty changing years. In his own words, this is the Bob Hermon story.

Stop your vehicle and check your pants, it's time for FUHcast! Bill takes control of the Rundown to start off the show. T3 calls in with a long awaited voicemail that unfortunately results in the unexpected return of a former "guest". Bill found Billy Crystal's retro racist Oscars performance to be rather boring. Bill Murray decides that busting no longer makes him feel good, leaving Ghostbusters 3 in limbo. An unplanned, yet in-depth discussion on a painfully boring Bill Murray movie ensures. Bill discusses why he no longer considers himself a gamer. Jim does still consider himself a gamer and has an opinion on Sony's Vita. Japan has created something even more disturbing than tenticle porn: a HUGE device that is capable of making people literally choke on their words. Apple may be planning new iPads that are suitable for usage cycles; light or heavy. Bill explains to Jim the importance of professional wrestling school and how it is not at all like a clown college. Wanna hear the story about the guy in Florida who got a DUI while having a "sexual anal plug in his rectum"?
