Is truth objective—or just personal preference? In this episode of Redeeming Truth, our pastors address the growing rejection of biblical truth within modern evangelicalism. Using Scripture and data from The State of Theology survey, they explain what truth is, why it matters, and how abandoning God's Word leads to doctrinal drift, cultural confusion, and dying churches. This conversation calls believers back to Jesus Christ—the Truth—and reminds the church of its God-given responsibility to know, uphold, and proclaim the truth with courage, love, and conviction. In this episode of Two Pastors and a Mic, Cory and Channock tackle one of the hardest parts of growth: what happens when you change…but the people around you don't. If you've gone through deconstruction, started holding your beliefs more loosely, or found yourself living with more nuance, you've probably felt the tension at the dinner table—Do I speak up? Stay quiet? Change the subject? Because the truth is, most of the time the tension isn't even theological… it's relational. They talk honestly about why your growth can feel threatening to others (even when you're not trying to change anyone), the unspoken agreements relationships can be built on, and the three common temptations that show up in this season: shrinking, proving, or withdrawing. From there, they give five practical tools to help you stay connected without losing yourself—how to lead with curiosity, stop managing other people's reactions, and build safe spaces where you don't have to translate your entire journey just to be understood. If you've felt misunderstood, exhausted, or tempted to pull back from the people you love, this one is for you.In this episode:Why the tension isn't theological—it's relationalThe 3 temptations: shrink, prove, withdraw5 practical tools for staying connected while you growWhen distance is wisdom (boundaries, not punishment)Staying grounded in who you're becoming00:00 - Welcome Back + Quick Banter00:45 - Share the Episode + 26 Life Theme (1 John 2:6)01:34 - Recap: Deconstruction, Stuck Seasons, Staying Tender02:20 - Recap: Rebuilding Trust (Brené Brown's BRAVING)02:50 - Recap: Living Without Certainty (The Sin of Certainty)03:22 - Today's Topic: When You Change but Others Don't04:08 - The Real Tension: Family, Friends, and Staying Connected05:08 - When People Speak in Absolutes + You Feel Misunderstood06:17 - Dinner Table Moment: Speak Up, Stay Quiet, or Shift Topics?07:30 - It's Not Theological—It's Relational Risk09:20 - When Your Shift Feels Threatening to Others10:16 - Unspoken Agreements: “We've Always Believed This”11:34 - 3 Temptations: Shrink, Prove, or Withdraw12:15 - Temptation 1: Shrinking to Keep the Room Calm13:16 - Temptation 2: Proving It (Over-explaining, Articles, Debates)14:01 - Temptation 3: Withdrawing Fully (Exhaustion + New Language)16:06 - 5 Practical Tools for Connection (Overview)17:23 - Tool 1: Decide What's Worth Discussing (Hill vs Habit)19:42 - Tool 2: Lead With Curiosity, Not Correction20:36 - Tool 3: Let Go of Being Understood Immediately21:45 - Tool 4: Stop Managing Their Reaction22:20 - Tool 5: Build New Safe Spaces (Relational Oxygen)23:27 - When Distance Is Wise (Boundaries, Not Punishment)24:42 - Stay Grounded in Who You're Becoming27:11 - Next Week: Reconstruction vs Deconstruction (Which Is Harder?)27:44 - Hockey Sidebar: Team USA Beats Canada + “Won It for Johnny”28:37 - Closing: You're Loved (Nothing You Can Do About It)

Is the idea of “UFO Disclosure” organic or synthetic? Is it driven by internet speculation, powerful people using it as a "rip cord" to soften the fallout over the Epstein revelations, or both? Most of the major voices pushing for “disclosure” are either known frauds or linked by association with the Epstein scandal. Anna Paulina Luna and Jared Moskowitz are reportedly of the same background as Avi Loeb. Luna has repeatedly brought up the Book of Enoch and fallen angels. While some Christians, in particular, may embrace the exposure of what they believe are demons, they may not recognize that the original "Ancient Aliens" theory was conceived by a scholar named Matest Agrest. His theory paved the way for the demeaning of Jesus from Christ to alien—the idea that God did not create the world or humans; aliens did. Many of the talking points also appear scripted, such as suggesting amnesty for the very liars, thieves, and murderers supposedly involved in the cover-ups. Lara Trump's commentary on the President's so-called UFO speech could not have been more vague. She suggested President Trump had mentioned having a speech prepared to deliver at the “right time” regarding the possibility of extraterrestrial life.Any potential “disclosure” would likely be vague and based on a foundation of “what ifs” and implications, all of which drive fear and concern that can then be "remedied" with social changes and trillions spent on new technological advancements. What many hope will be “Disclosure Day” will likely be another massive gaslighting operation. It is business as usual, and the timing is perfectly aligned with diverting inquiry and anger away from the fact that nearly the entire system is engaged in human trafficking, sexual deviancy, and a dark religious cult that has been reduced to the title “Epstein files.”*The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. Together, they wrestle with institutional preservation vs. missional risk, unity in divided times, and the formation of young leaders through intentional community.Nathan shares about Trinity's Benedict-inspired young adult internship community—how rhythms of prayer, stability, shared life, and clear confession are shaping the next generation of pastors and leaders across church bodies.Meet Me in the Word: A Daily DevotionalThoughtful reflections for Jesus-Followers Monday through Friday.Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showWatch Us On Youtube!

Recently, Theologian Dr. Darrell Bock gave a seminar to church leaders and pastors on engaging the culture and cultural intelligence. Slides from his presentation were posted on social media and, at face value, the verbiage is... problematic. Dr. Tim Stratton and Josh Klein are joined by Reverend Dr. Tom Barnes to discuss why this is concerning and to break down what we can and should do about it.   Full Disclosure: None of the three were at the event, so this commentary is meant to be directed towards the public-facing verbiage that could either a) be easily misconstrued, b) be misremembered in our current culture moment by people in attendance and applied using definitions based on critical theory rather than a biblical worldview, and/or c) were taught poorly in the first place and no explanation or nuance would make it better.   Join our team - https://www.freethinkingministries.com/donate Questions? Is the modern "resurrection" of Christian ideology a spiritual awakening—or a manufactured tool for a new forever war?On this episode, we examine why the American public is being bombarded with specific talking points regarding “White-Christian, Western philosophy.” From Michael Moore's claims about the greatest threats to Israel to Newsmax's attempt to tether the very idea of civilization to a single religious identity, a political push for war with Iran is rewriting history in real-time. But beyond the politics lies a deeper, ancient truth. Much of the confusion is a result of literalisms, interpreting the symbolic stories as real. The powerful and knowing all-seeing eye is also the "I AM" and it currently blinded by calls for war and bigotry. *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. What does Gen Z really believe about God? And what are they actually asking? In this episode, Loren talks with Tanita Tualla Maddox, National Director for Generational Impact at Young Life and author of What Gen Z Really Wants to Know About God. Tanita offers a compelling case for cultural apologetics—understanding the lens through which Gen Z asks timeless questions like “Is God good?” She also challenges churches to move from abstract teaching to concrete spiritual practices that help young people live out their faith in real relationships. Together they explore: Why headlines about Gen Z “revival” can be misleading The reality of low trust culture—and how to earn it How Gen Z defines acceptance, belonging, and safety Why evangelism must go beyond “just invite your friends to church” Practical ways churches can disciple students in a post-Christian world The importance of teaching young people to articulate their own testimony Why isolating teenagers from the broader church might be a mistake Tanita Tualla Maddox (DMin, Phoenix Seminary) is the national director for generational impact for Young Life and serves as an associate regional director in the Mountain West Young Life region. With an expertise in contextualizing the gospel for Gen Z, Tanita has been featured on The Holy Post podcast and has been published in The Great Commission Research Journal, the Journal of Youth and Theology, and more. She has served as Young Life leader with adolescents for over twenty-six years and serves as a volunteer Young Life leader in her local community. She lives in Spokane, Washington, with her husband and two children.   Mentioned Resources:

John and Chino examine the immediate aftermath of Hobart Freeman's death and the moment Faith Assembly was forced to confront its most dangerous doctrine. Drawing from sermons, eyewitness accounts, and newspaper reporting, they reconstruct the night Freeman died, the unexplained delay in reporting his death, and the theological crisis that followed. The discussion exposes how absolute divine-healing claims, resurrection teaching, and leadership silence collided with reality. By tracing what leaders said, what members believed, and what was withheld, this episode explores how high-control religious systems respond when prophecy and doctrine fail at the very top. ______________________ Weaponized Religion: From Christian Identity to the NAR: Paperback: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1735160962  Kindle: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DCGGZX3K  ______________________ - Support the channel: https://www.patreon.com/branham  - Visit the website: https://william-branham.org

Ibrahim lays out the theological, military, and political realities of the era, arguing that the Crusades were understood at the time as defensive wars within a Christian just war tradition. The conversation explores jihad doctrine, papal authority, pilgrimage routes, the Byzantine appeal for help, and the brutal realities of medieval warfare on all sides. We discuss how both Christian and Muslim chroniclers recorded atrocities, enslavement, and religious violence, and why sanitised or selective readings distort the period. We also examine how the Crusades are invoked in modern political rhetoric, why historical memory shapes contemporary tensions, and whether the West has lost confidence in telling its own story honestly.A rigorous and unfiltered discussion about faith, war, civilisation, and what the Crusades really meant in their own time.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------WATCH THE EXTENDED CONVERSATION HERE: https://open.substack.com/pub/winstonmarshall/p/heroic-the-uncensored-history-of?r=18lfab&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Substack: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/X: https://twitter.com/mrwinmarshallInsta: https://www.instagram.com/winstonmarshallLinktree: https://linktr.ee/winstonmarshall----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapters00:00 Introduction03:09 The 7th Century Islamic Conquests and Europe's Shock07:30 How Early Christians Interpreted Islam11:41 Jihad: Faith, Plunder, or Both?16:57 Just War Theory and the Theology of Violence20:00 The Rise of the Seljuk Turks and New Atrocities23:35 The Destruction of the Holy Sepulchre 27:48 Pacifism vs Defence: What Did Christ Teach?31:36 The “Two Swords of Christ” Explained41:16 Medieval Honour vs Modern Materialism47:37 Pope Urban II and the Call to Crusade 49:12 The People's Crusade and the Rhine Pogroms52:32 The Professional Crusaders March East58:42 Why They Fought: Holy Land and Christian Solidarity1:00:07 The Capture of Jerusalem 1:03:35 The Birth of the Knights Templar 1:18:00 Saladin and the Loss of Jerusalem 1:48:00 How the Crusades Are Misunderstood Today2:01:00 Did the Crusades Ultimately Fail? What began as a childlike love for Jesus was tested when Alena Pitts mom died suddenly when Alena was just 14 years old. Alena's grief challenged and deepened her understanding of who God is, revealing what she truly believed about His character. Alena has written a devotional called “God Is,” designed for teen girls and young women to understand God's character – infinite, omnipotent, ever-present, good, loving, and our safe place. Theology isn't just academic, it's practical, personal, and essential for teens walking through real life.  Scripture references: Isaiah 41:10 This Episode is Sponsored by: Step inside the story, hear the witness, and experience Easter like never before with If the Tree Could Speak available on Amazon.
