In the mid-90s, little was known about how to effectively treat trauma, especially that trauma that can arise from child sexual abuse. Victims often languished in treatment for years with symptoms that might—or might not—ever improve. Then more research emerged on evidence-based treatments. These effective treatments—with Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) at the fore—were brief, reducing symptoms for many clients swiftly, and therefore swiftly getting kids back to their job of being kids. This has meant reduced suffering and improved healing for kids. The most exciting part of TF-CBT has been its ongoing evolution as applications have been developed for many different populations. GcMAF - what is it?  And can it help you on your journey to better health?    GcMAF (Gc protein-derived macrophage activating factor) is a protein that is naturally produced by the body and plays an important role in the healthy functioning of the immune system, and especially in activated macrophages, the white blood cells that protect against cancerous cells, bacteria and ‘foreign substances.' The GcMAF theory postulates that people who are immunocompromised have low levels of the protein and are more susceptible to cancer, multiple sclerosis and other systemic conditions. Cancer cells produce an enzyme, nagalase, that shuts down macrophage activity, and so the typical cancer patient has high levels of nagalase and low levels of GcMAF. This theory – and the discovery of GcMAF – is the work of Dr Nobuto Yamamoto, a biophysicist who announced his discovery in 1991 while working at Hahnemann Medical College (now Drexel University College of Medicine) in Philadelphia. Candice has been in the Natural Health field for over twenty years. Her passion is empowering people to take control of their own health so that her services are not needed.  Candice believes the body has amazing healing capabilities and assists and guides those when needed.  Candice sees her job one of listening and assisting you in overcoming obstacles.   Her desire for natural health began while working with her brother in law (the late Dr. Jeff Bradstreet) at his International Autism Center in 1997.  Candice continued her education by attending Trinity Natural School of Health where she earned her Certified Clinical Nutritionist Degree.

The ALL ME® Podcast Weight Loss Drugs: What are the Risks? – Dr. Robert Driver In 2022, nearly 1 in 3 men and 1 in 4 women were considered overweight with more than 42% of adults being considered obese. The global weight loss and weight management industry has a market size valued around $224 billion dollars and it is expected to surpass $405 billion by 2030. What's alarming is over 90% of people who invest in a weight loss program usually regain all of their weight back at some point. On December 23rd, 2022, the drug Semaglutide received FDA approval to be used as a weight loss medicine for those 12 and up who have a BMI above the 95th percentile. How effective are these type of drugs and what the potential side effects and risks? In this episode, we speak with Dr. Robert Driver, about the mechanisms of action around these drugs, the potential side effects and risks, what type of weight is someone losing from their use, are they suitable for children, and much more. Stay tuned until the end for the curve ball round to learn what would be the one drug he could invent to change the landscape of health.   Robert Driver, MD Bob Driver is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician who has been practicing medicine for over twenty years.  He is certified in Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy and is also a member of the Age Management Medical Group.  He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Duquesne University and his Doctor of Medicine from Drexel University College of Medicine.  Bob founded Spartan Medical Associates as his opinion of aging and health evolved during his professional career. He noticed a lack of focus on proactive medicine and was frustrated with the failings of standard medical treatments.  He also learned to reject the notion that some things just come with old age. Fatigue, weight gain, muscle atrophy, osteoporosis, and other “old age symptoms” can be prevented and reversed.  Bob has become an expert on BHRT and wants to help clients restore balance for a healthier life.
