Guiding Question: Where is the fear of failure holding you back—and what does real success look like in God's eyes? Summary: Robert Lewis unpacks the paralyzing effect of the fear of failure and how it can quietly dominate and define our lives. He opens with a dramatized workplace scenario and a personal story about the film Jaws to illustrate how fear—especially the fear of failing—can sabotage even our noblest ambitions, opportunities, and God-given callings. Using the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25), Robert shows that the servant who buried his talent did so out of fear. That fear led to lost opportunities, diminished personal growth, and ultimately, loss of what he had. The message is clear: a fear-driven life doesn't stay static—it shrinks. Robert identifies five key sources that stir the fear of failure: Personal pessimism – underestimating God and overestimating our limitations. Exaggerated observations – seeing challenges through the distorting lens of fear. Concern over others' opinions – fearing how we're perceived more than what God desires. Overwhelming obstacles – allowing Goliath-sized fears to bully us into inaction. False definitions of success – confusing worldly approval with spiritual triumph. He counters this by redefining success based on Deuteronomy 30: Loving God Obeying His Word Courageously pursuing His inspired dreams Finally, Robert offers four sources of courage to overcome fear: Knowing God is with us Trusting that God will help us Believing we will succeed in God's terms Asking others to pray for us The message concludes with a call for vulnerability and community prayer, encouraging those burdened by fear to stand and receive support. Key Takeaways: Fear of failure can sabotage God's call on our lives. Real success is defined by faithfulness, not worldly accolades. The risk of obedience leads to growth, joy, and greater spiritual capacity. Courage is inspired through God's presence, strength, and community. Scripture References: Matthew 25:14–30 (Parable of the Talents) Exodus 3:11; 33:12–15 (Moses' calling and fear) Joshua 1–2 (spies and differing perspectives) 1 Samuel 10 & 17 (Saul's fear; Goliath's challenge) Deuteronomy 30:15–20 (true definition of success) Philippians 4:13 (strength through Christ) 2 Corinthians 2:14 (God leads us in triumph) 1 Thessalonians 5:25 (Paul asks for prayer)

BOUNDARIES BUILT ON FEAR FAIL- In this episode of the Christian Life Coach Collective, we tackle the common belief that setting up strict boundaries before you even begin coaching will protect you from burnout, harm, or difficult clients. While boundaries are essential, many new coaches set limits based on fear—not experience or calling. You'll learn how to discern between protective wisdom and projected fear, and how to build boundaries that serve your purpose, not shrink it. 3 Key Takeaways: Fear-based boundaries can keep you from stepping into what God is calling you to do. Real boundaries are built through experience, not assumptions. Healthy boundaries should grow from your values and purpose—not from projected “what ifs.” Listener Challenge: Take inventory this week: Where have you set boundaries based on fear or imagined scenarios? Ask God to show you what needs to stay, what needs to shift, and what walls can come down so that you can lead and serve in freedom. Fear holds many of us back from taking the next step – whether in business or life. But here's the truth: fear is normal, and it doesn't have to control you. In this episode, I dive deep into the different types of fear that can paralyze us, from fear of failure to fear of rejection and why it's important to move through fear – so you can finally start showing up for yourself and your business.Key Takeaways:Fear is not the enemy. It's just information from your body signaling uncertainty or potential threats. The key isn't to eliminate fear – it's to understand what kind of fear is holding you back and move forward anyway. Action vs. Movement. Overthinking keeps you stuck. Action is intentional and structured, but movement is what actually creates momentum. You don't need all the answers to start – you just need to move. And if fear makes you freeze? Body doubling – having someone work alongside you or just keeping your hand – can help you push through and stay accountable.Balance strategy with execution. Over-planning can be just as harmful as rushing in without direction. The best approach? Reflect, prepare, commit – and then move forward.Embracing discomfort is the key to growth. The fear of the unknown is real, but growth happens when you learn to sit with uncertainty and keep going anyway. Clarity and confidence come from movement, not from thinking about moving.Get your access to my on-demand free ‘Plan your language course worth gold' mini course and create your amazing group language program in less than 90 minutes! Success isn't about waiting for the perfect moment—it's about stepping up, even when doubt creeps in. Bayleigh and guest Veronica Caldwell dive deep into the mindset shifts that turn fear into fuel and setbacks into stepping stones. As a past recipient of the Small Changes Big Shifts scholarship program, Veronica shares how the support and resources she received helped her embrace discomfort and step into her potential. Her journey proves that growth comes from action, not just planning, and that confidence is built in the doing. The path to success isn't about having it all figured out—it's about taking the next right step, no matter how uncertain it feels. Key Takeaways: Fear doesn't mean stop—it's a signal that you're stepping outside your comfort zone, where the biggest growth happens. Clarity comes from taking action, not waiting for the perfect moment, so start where you are and trust that the next step will reveal itself. Setbacks are not failures but lessons that build resilience, strengthen your mindset, and guide you toward something even greater. Self-belief isn't about having all the answers—it's about trusting yourself to learn, adapt, and keep moving forward no matter what. True success comes from small, consistent actions over time, proving that steady progress is more powerful than a single big leap. In today's episode, you'll explore one of the most common patterns that keeps high-achieving women stuck: worrying about what other people might think. Colleen breaks down how the fear of being misunderstood, judged, or perceived a certain way can quietly derail your growth, your boundaries, and your goals. You'll learn why managing other people's emotions never works—and what to do instead when your nervous system wants to retreat. Key Takeaways Fear of what others think is a distraction from your purpose When you're focused on being perceived the "right" way, you're no longer rooted in your own truth. This is emotional disconnection in disguise. Trying to manage someone else's emotions doesn't serve either of you When you avoid hard conversations or withhold your real message to protect someone else's feelings, you rob them of the opportunity to grow—and yourself of the opportunity to lead. Projection keeps you stuck in self-doubt What you think others might be thinking is often just a reflection of your own unhealed beliefs. These projections block clarity and reinforce old stories that no longer serve you. Action Steps Pause the next time you find yourself adjusting your behavior to avoid being misunderstood. Notice what you're trying to prevent. Ask: What do I know is true, even if someone else doesn't like it? Take ownership of your decisions. If you're wavering, ask: What choice would I make if I trusted myself fully? Stop waiting to be seen as “nice,” “reasonable,” or “agreeable” before you act. What if clarity and alignment are more important than approval? Speak your truth. Not to convince. Not to control. Just to honor the version of you who's ready to rise. Homework Create the time for Self-Reflection. Once you're there, ask yourself: Where are you hesitating to lead or speak honestly because you're afraid of how it will be received? What would shift if you stopped managing their response—and trusted your own? Listen for your response and acknowledge that awareness.
Episode Summary: The Three Strands of the Braid of the Holy Trinity, Part 1 (Pages 339-362)This chapter explores how fear shapes our lives and how our response to it—either through surrender or resistance—determines whether it controls us or becomes an opportunity for growth. Fear, when left unchecked, creates illusions that trap us in cycles of suffering. However, understanding two powerful forces can help us break free:* The Trinity of Light: Repentance, Atonement, and Redemption—a path to healing, transformation, and liberation.* The Shadow Trinity: Separation, Judgment, and Fear—energies that bind us in limitation and distortion.By recognizing our fear-based patterns and shifting our perception, we can step into a life of divine connection, where faith replaces fear and we align with our highest potential.Key Themes* Fear as Illusion – How the mind creates exaggerated ghost stories that keep us trapped in suffering.* Addiction to Fear – How external structures (media, politics, societal systems) manipulate fear for control.* Faith as the Antidote – The unknown is where transformation and spiritual connection live.* The Shadow Trinity vs. The Light Trinity – One binds us in suffering, while the other sets us free. The Nature of Fear and Perception* The phrase “Abandon hope, all ye who enter here” is often used to create fear in controlled settings, yet in real life, we resist fear instead of embracing it with curiosity.* Fear does not exist in external events but in how our mind interprets them.* When faith is lost, the mind creates illusions—stories that seem more frightening than reality.* Discernment is key: Learning when fear serves a purpose versus when it is used as a tool of control.Understanding the Three Strands of the Trinity of Light1. The Power of Repentance: The Act of Unburdening* Repentance is not about guilt; it is about release.* Acknowledging burdens—blame, regret, judgment—allows us to unburden ourselves and reconnect with love and peace.* Recite the Repentance Prayer (page 353) to surrender and realign.2. The Power of Atonement: Service Through Joy* Atonement restores balance, not as punishment, but through joyful service.* This is co-creation with the Divine, allowing us to hold the Light for others.* Acts of kindness, laughter, and compassion are ways we atone. The Shadow Trinity: The Counterbalance to the Light* A necessary contrast that teaches us what we are not, so we may remember what we are.* Consists of three braids:* Resentment, Reaction, Regret* Shame, Blame, Guilt* Polarity, Complacency, Separation* These energies create suffering but can be unbraided through awareness and choice.Key Takeaways* Fear binds. Faith liberates. When we shift from fear-based perception to faith, we create inner peace and clarity.* Repentance releases burdens. Let go of judgment, regret, and separation to return to love.* Atonement is service through joy. Give without agenda, and your light will inspire others to find their own path.* Discernment is key. Fear can be a tool for control—learning to recognize and shift it is part of our awakening.Next Steps: Read & Listen

In today's episode, I answer a question about surviving a husband's rage while still in the home and preparing to leave. I want to share insights on coping strategies, the importance of unhooking from an abuser's words, and how to create a safety plan. If you're living in survival mode, this episode offers encouragement and practical steps to help you move toward freedom and healing.Key Takeaways:Fear is a natural response to an abusive environment. Trying to "toughen up" emotions to endure abuse is not the solution; rather, finding ways to escape is essential.Unhook from his words. An abuser's insults and accusations are projections of their own delusions, not reflections of your worth.Abusers see their victims as LEGO characters. They create a false narrative about who you are and expect you to conform. Recognizing this can help you detach emotionally.Radical acceptance is necessary. Understand that an abusive partner does not want genuine connection—only control and transaction.Survival mode is not living. Every day you endure abuse is survival, but true healing comes from stepping into a life of freedom. You deserve a future beyond survival. Healing is possible, and there are communities and resources to help you move forward.Read the show notes and/or ask Natalie a question hereRelated Resources:Need a resource to help you as you unhook? Welcome to another episode of Let's Talk Money and More, where today we confront a topic silently impacting our financial well-being: the cost of inaction.Hosted by Lesley Thomas, this episode dives into how putting off financial decisions, hesitating to invest in ourselves, or avoiding uncomfortable money conversations can quietly drain our bank balances. Lesley explores why we procrastinate on money matters, unpacks the hidden impacts of delaying action, and addresses how fear often plays a role in our hesitation. Most importantly, she provides practical steps to help break free from this cycle. If you've ever told yourself you'll "do it later," this episode is your call to take action now and transform your financial future. Join us as we challenge the mindset of waiting and empower you to make proactive decisions today.Key Takeaways:Fear and Avoidance Are Costly: Avoiding financial decisions due to fear or discomfort doesn't save us trouble; it compounds it. Addressing money matters today, even imperfectly, is better than avoiding them altogether.Small Actions Lead to Big Results: Immediate action, no matter how small, can create financial momentum and opportunities for growth. It's a reminder that the perfect moment to start doesn't exist; the best time to take control is now.The Illusion of Time: We often deceive ourselves into thinking we have more time to make financial decisions. But delays only reduce our potential long-term benefits, like missing out on compound interest.Connect with Lesley ThomasFREE Resources www.themoneyconfidenceacademy.com/resources/Ways to work with me https://www.themoneyconfidenceacademy.com/work-with-me/My website www.themoneyconfidenceacademy.com/Join my Facebook Group www.facebook.com/groups/letstalkmoneyandmoreYoutube channel www.youtube.com/@themoneyconfidenceacademyFollow me on Instagram www.instagram.com/lesleythomascoaching/Connect with me on LinkedIn www.linkedin.com/in/lesley-thomasEmail me lesley@themoneyconfidenceacademy.comBook a Free 30 mins call with me - https://calendly.com/lesley-themoneyconfidenceacademy/30mins-121 Hosted on Acast. "Everything you ever wanted is on the other side of fear." – George Adair In this empowering episode of The Empowered Team Podcast, host Kari Schneider dives deep into understanding, harnessing, and transforming fear. As we approach a new year full of possibilities, Kari challenges us to face our fears head-on and see them as signals for growth rather than barriers. Drawing from personal experiences, client stories, and even lessons from sports, she unpacks actionable steps to turn fear into a tool for success. Key Takeaways: Fear as a Signal, Not a Stop Sign: Fear isn't an enemy but a signal that you're pushing the boundaries of your comfort zone. Embrace it as a guide. Understand Fear: Learn how your brain's amygdala triggers fear, often overreacting to perceived threats. Recognize it for what it is—a survival mechanism. Harness Fear's Energy: Use fear-induced physiological changes (like heightened focus and adrenaline) as fuel to sharpen your performance. Transform Fear into Growth: Step outside your comfort zone and activate your brain's prefrontal cortex, enabling adaptability and creativity. Reframe Fear as a Worthy Opponent: Like athletes facing challenging competitors, respect your fear as a catalyst for learning and growth. Practical Applications: Public speaking anxiety? Break it down into small, actionable steps like practicing with friends. Afraid of feedback? Use active listening and actionable steps to shift from defense to growth. Facing big decisions? Break them into manageable parts and seek diverse perspectives.
Welcome to the What's Next! Podcast with Tiffani Bova. In this LinkedIn Live, I had the wonderful honor of welcoming my dear friend, Seth Godin, who I met in 2001 through his book Purple Cow, which is one of my all-time favorite books. Along the way, Seth has always been a great supporter of me and my career. Today, I'm eager to discuss Seth's latest book, This Is Strategy: Make Better Plans. THIS EPISODE IS PERFECT FOR…anyone who wants a fresh perspective on leadership and strategy. TODAY'S MAIN MESSAGE…strategy isn't a lofty document or annual exercise. It's a compass guiding every decision you make. Seth challenges the conventional idea of strategy as static and instead frames it as a dynamic, iterative process of becoming. He shares nuggets of wisdom from his new book, which he says is a love letter for the people he cares about. KEY TAKEAWAYS… Fear is often the thing that holds people back from making bold decisions. False proxies, like easy-to-measure but irrelevant metrics, can misguide your focus. The best leaders inspire action by focusing on the “why” behind their strategies. WHAT I LOVE MOST…Seth's thoughts on practical empathy. He says it's easy to become attached to something because you've worked hard on it. Practical empathy is understanding your audience and imagining what they need, even if that means reinventing your offerings. It's a call to lead with both courage and care. In this episode, Vicky and Jo delve into the complexities of fear, particularly in relation to personal and business growth. They discuss how fears are often learned from past experiences and societal conditioning, using examples from their own lives, including attitudes towards money and the pressures of holiday expectations. Jo and Vicky also touch on the value of offering free content as a strategic tool for building relationships and trust with potential clients, emphasising that understanding one's worth and the outcomes of services is crucial for success. KEY TAKEAWAYS Fear often stems from past experiences and learned behaviours rather than being inherently logical. Providing free content can be a strategic way to build trust and rapport with potential clients. Businesses should focus on the outcomes they provide rather than just the time spent on services. There should be a range of pricing options available in any industry, allowing clients to choose what fits their budget. Regular self-reflection is crucial for personal and professional growth. BEST MOMENTS "It's such an annoying thing that our human brain does, isn't it? Every time you want to do something, you suddenly get slapped in the face with a, nope, can't do that, for no logical reason." "If you're fearful of something, there's got to be past experiences that have led to that fear. So you've been through things that have created the fear and created the defence mechanisms around that fear." "You can't possibly charge that amount of money. You can't possibly do this. You can't do that. People don't want this. Make dog training affordable. I'm like, what's affordable? What does that mean?" "If you try and cater for everybody on a low ticket, you're going to have to work a fair amount of time in exchange for that money." "If you allow your brain to take over and be controlled by fear, be controlled by the unknown, be controlled by everybody else's opinion of what you should be doing with your business, nothing is going to change." In this episode of Cowgirls Over Coffee, Lana Wilkes and I are tackling the subject of fear, not with a specific one-size-fits-all strategy to overcome it, but with an open conversation that invites reflection. As we dive into the different ways fear shows up in life, from the rational (like rattlesnakes) to the intangible (fear of failure), we explore how fear informs our actions, beliefs, and even our limiting behaviors. This episode isn't intended to provide you with a 5-step plan to crush your fears; it's about starting the conversation. We encourage you to think deeply about what's beneath your fears, how fear impacts your ability to make decisions, and how understanding fear is often the next step toward progress.Key Takeaways:Fear as information and how to recognize what your fears are really telling youWhy the "feel the fear and do it anyway" advice might be skipping an important stepHow small, consistent actions can help unravel bigger fearsRecognizing fear's impact on limiting beliefs and decision-makingWhy addressing fear doesn't mean eliminating it but learning how to move with itThis conversation is perfect for anyone who feels stuck or limited by fear but isn't looking for easy answers. In today's episode, we dive deep into why it's crucial to replace fear with curiosity. No matter your walk of life, fear can be a limiting factor. Discover how shifting from a panic mode to a proactive, fact-finding mindset can be a game-changer. It takes practice and repetition but it truly works and here's why:Key Takeaways:Fear limits you, curiosity liberates you.Curiosity is the catalyst for fast, effective decision-making.Making the shift from panic to proactive fact-finding is transformative. When faced with anything always come from a position of "I wonder" or "what do I need to know" rather than assumption. That takes practice to press pause before you react. Our subconscious can keep us stuck in a pattern of reaction vs response, but when you immediately ask questions instead of defend, fight or ‘run' it has a cognitive and cellular change in your body and mind and your whole internal system from mindset to breathing responds differently and in a more positive and proactive perspective. In order to master that shift it takes being curious on purpose. Being proactive and pressing pause before you allow panic to take over is a crucial and powerful life skill to have in our overwhelming world. It's not what happens to us, it's how we respond that matters most.Replacing curiosity over fear changes your entire perspective for the better. Don't let fear hold you back. Tune in and unlock the life you're destined to lead and love. Author Lindsay Hausch, interviews Michelle in this episode about the 6th chapter in her book, Promised Rest. We look at how God is our peace. In this episode, we delve into the story of Gideon, a man who found himself hiding in a wine vat, trying to thresh wheat due to the oppressive Midianites. We explored how Gideon's encounter with an angel of the Lord, who is Jesus Himself. As we reflected on Gideon's story, we couldn't help but be reminded of how God looks at us with love and compassion, even when we may struggle with fear and anxiety. Just as Gideon questioned God and asked for a sign, we, too, can bring our concerns and doubts before Him. The story of Gideon reassures us that God addresses our worries lovingly and compassionately, providing us with the peace that surpasses all understanding. In these uncertain and unsettling times, trust in God's strength and peace is more important than ever. Instead of figuring out the circumstances around us, let us rest in who God is and rely on His guidance. It's a humbling experience when we realize that, like Gideon, we are called to accomplish things that may seem impossible, but God equips us with His strength. One passage that resonates deeply with us is 2 Corinthians 4:7-9, which talks about being hard-pressed, crushed, perplexed, and persecuted, yet not despairing, abandoned, or destroyed. We find peace in knowing that even in our difficult circumstances, God's light shines in our hearts, revealing His glory. As followers of Christ, we are like treasures in jars of clay, displaying His power. Resting in God's power and surrendering our worries to Him allows us to walk into seemingly impossible situations with His peace. It's a journey we must take together, finding solace and strength in His presence every step of the way. As we continue to explore God's promises and find Rest in His presence, let us rebel against the chaos of the world by choosing peace. We may feel a little crazy at times, but by remembering who God is, we can find the rest and peace our souls yearn for. One simple way to rest is to immerse ourselves in the beauty of God's creation. Watch the sunrise and sunset, and marvel at the wonders He has made. Surround yourself with His Word, which is powerful even in small doses. Reflect on who God is and who you are as His beloved child, and let His peace wash over you. Key Takeaways: Fear makes us forget who we are as God's children. Our thoughts race with the limitations we have to solve our problems. We face the unfixable and feel shaken. Jesus steps into our brokenness, and His faithfulness toward us is unshakable. Jesus gives us His peace and strength. We can rest in His capable hands. He holds all things together. God's power and strength are not limited to our understanding. Let's talk about fear Fear of the unknown Fear of the future Fear of being alone Fear of finances Fear of missing your ex or soon to be ex, forever Fear of making the wrong decision Fear of judgement, failure and other's opinions USEFUL LINKS MENTIONED (and some other ones): HUGE BLACK FRIDAY SAVINGS in our brand new Course Portal: https://www.theseparationclub.com/course-portal Join our upcoming retreat in Costa Rica, March 4-11, 2023: www.theseparationclub.com/retreats Head over the website and check out all the upcoming events like free Masterclasses, Retreats and so much more: www.theseparationclub.com/upcoming-events Also make sure to download the Free Separation Checklist: https://theseparationclub.com/separation-checklist Join the private and free Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/theseparationclub/ You can also find me on Instagram @theseparationclub where I share daily inspirations and tips as you navigate your divorce. KEY TAKEAWAYS: Fear is the space between what you know and what you don't know. It's that space where we play the "what if..." game. It's a worst case scenario game that your brain does to you so you don't do scary things which is the same as new things. Just because you don't know the outcome doesn't mean it's bad, but it's a little stressful and your brain perceives that as danger and before you know it you are choosing to stay where you were. Why? Because it feels better to be unhappy in the known than to head towards the possibly happy unknown. Fear paralyzes your from progress, growth and future experiences Why is it so hard to have the conversations you need to have, or to start the habit that's good for you, or quit the one that's bad and to do the things you need to do and stop doing the things you don't want to do. We don't explore the edge enough to see the opportunities and possibilities. We even miss the hands reaching out to guide and help us. That space between who you have been and who you are becoming. It's a scary space because there are no real instructions. Just faith. Faith in yourself, in those who believe in you and the possibility of what is ahead of you. Fear is only an emotion. It's our brain's response to a situation that feels dangerous simply because it's new and the path is unknown. Fear is the word we use to describe our emotional reaction to something that seems dangerous. Ask yourself: What about this situation makes you feel unsafe? Could it be that it's just the unknown that feels scary and that's not actually real? One way to manage the what if's and the fear is to start planning for the worst case scenario. What to do: Hire a coach; work out the worst case scenarios; understand where the fear comes from; identify your limiting beliefs and get rid of those that are standing in your way.

Remember that evaluated failure makes us better. Learn from mistakes. When you fix clients’ problems, they are 3 times more likely to be repeat customers. People don’t love us because we’re perfect, but because we’re perfectly flawed. Aim to be “flawsome.” Trying to do too many things is almost always the wrong approach. Focus on crushing one thing, even if it requires you to cannibalize your own product line. When you add more tasks, subtract others so that you don’t ove

We talk about this in Episode 1. Every single thing in this world is composed of molecules vibrating at different rates. Sound, light and matter all carry different vibrations. We, as humans, also vibrate differently depending on our health and emotional state. Someone who is happy all the time and has a positive view on life vibrates at a much higher frequency than someone who is constantly in a state of fear, anger or jealousy. Why is it that some people can seamlessly and confidently transition from corporate leadership to consulting and coaching business ownership where others gets stuck? In this first episode of my brand-new podcast, I explore the three key elements that separate the most successful consultants and coaches from their peers and what can hold us back from achieving our full potential. I also share the real story of how what it really took for me to leave my high-profile role as an organization development consultant at Disney and WHY it can be so hard for shift from corporate leader to business owner. Key Takeaways: Fear more, not less. Change is not what you fear; it's the unknown. You have to fear the right thing! What is your fear of NOT TAKING THIS step? Don't calculate the cost of what can go wrong; calculate the fear of not moving forward. Time is not a renewable resource. What happens if you don't act? Elevate your perception of consulting and coaching. There are broken systems at every level. My firm conviction is that consultants and coaches are wired to solve these problems and are needed! If you want to monetize your purpose, you have to BEGIN with your purpose. You are not an extra pair of hands, you are a world changer. Transformed people, transform people. When you take this leap, your identity will no longer be tied to your salary. Your sense of achievement is now about who you are! How you've always done things won't work going forward. You have to flip the script about what your corporate persona said you are. Who are you, and what do you authentically want? Not what everyone thinks you should want... What do you need to get the courage to make your dream real? About Me: I'm Betsy Jordyn and my business development firm builds strong and powerful brands for remarkable consultants and coaches and their unique strengths. 90: Fear of Videos and 2 Ways To Overcome This "F" WordAre you afraid of the cameras? I too. Believe it or not, I still have fear of recording videos. That is why in today's episode, I want to share with you my fears of doing videos. We all have some form of issue with our appearance or the way we come across on camera. It may be our hair, weight, and more. I have been there. But overcoming my fears on camera was one of the best things I've made. Listen more because I have a few simple things you can do to get comfortable and even feel confident on camera.Fear of videos 02:20- 02:27 The fear of videos came as I'm getting a little bit too comfortable doing podcasting because podcasting doesn't need to show face. 02:37- 02:50 I really enjoyed podcasting and whatever I have something that I want to share with you, I just turn on the mic, turn on my rodecaster pro, and start recording. That's how simple it is. 03:17- 03:20 The big difference is when I'm recording marketing videos 04:38- 04:46 When it comes to marketing videos, you have to be on point, you have to look your best, and there are so many other things in my mind. 03:42- 03:44 I have this fear of whether I'm doing it correctly or not. Being perfectionist 04:13- 04:20 I totally hate recording it, I will be delayed for days, procrastinating, not recording my marketing videos. 05:00- 05:04 And sometimes I forget that these days it's not about how perfect your video is. 05:06- 05:14 It's how fast you put it out there into the marketplace and test your video where it is working or not working. 07:07- 07:11 All these things even though I'm trained, I become so conscious. 05:27- 05:28 I get started being a perfectionist. 07:22- 07:27 And this is one bad habit that all of us should quit doing. 10:58- 11:07 The fear of recording video sometimes's just false expectations appearing real. And there are definitely ways to go around it. What you should do? 02:58- 03:06 What were some of the fears that I faced as a Leader myself recording videos? 03:42- 03:44 I have this fear of whether I'm doing it correctly or not. 04:38- 04:46 When it comes to marketing videos, you have to be on point, you have to look your best, and there are so many other things in my mind. 05:00- 05:04 And sometimes I forget that these days it's not about how perfect your video is. 05:27- 05:28 I get started being a perfectionist. 05:33- 05:44 I do this complete perfectionist act on my marketing video and sometimes I miss the deadline and then I get scolded by my mentor, James, and my team. 07:22- 07:27 And this is one bad habit that all of us should quit doing. 07:52- 07:57 What should we do? Number one, always find an accountability partner. 08:52- 08:58 Number two, you got to breathe in love and exhale fear. 10:58- 11:07 The fear of recording video sometimes, it's just false expectations appearing real. On this episode, Dr. JYP talks with Dr. Ron Franks, professor and chair of psychiatry at the USA College of Medicine, about dealing with the fear and anxiety that can be a side effect of a cancer diagnosis. Plus, he shares some common tactics patients can use to help get through this phase of their cancer journey. A cancer diagnosis can produce the same effects as PTSD, and if these feelings are not managed, they can have detrimental results in treatment success and quality of life. Patients and their physicians need to recognize any abnormal behavioral changes and determine if any excessive anxiety and depression are a physiological reaction to their treatment, or something more. To curtail the psychological issues of a cancer diagnosis, patients need to surround themselves with a positive and caring team of family and friends who will help them in their cancer fight. If there is a more significant problem, their physician can look into pharmaceutical treatment options or schedule an appointment with a counselor or other mental health professional. Key Takeaways: Fear is a natural response to a real threat. Anxiety is an exaggerated fear that doesn't fit with what the facts tell you. Chemotherapy changes the brain chemistry of a patient and can increase the chance of depression, anxiety, and other mental health conditions. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is a common phenomenon with the diagnosis of cancer. A patient needs to feel a sense of some control as opposed to being controlled by the cancer. Whether a patient uses fight or control, they don't need to feel like a passive victim. A cancer patient needs to have a supportive team of optimistic family, friends, physicians, medical staff, and possibly cancer survivor support groups. The Docs Said: To a patient, living with cancer can be similar to the concept of having a tiger behind them. I try to help my patients to see cancer as a nuisance, not something that's going to control their lives, but something they just have to put up with as they go about living their lives. Fatigue comes as much from the psychological as the physical - chemotherapy and radiation - that takes a toll on the patient. Cancer patients don't have a guarantee.
