The Christian Outlook - October 26, 2024 Tim Clinton and Johnnie Moore discuss the gravity of the upcoming election, and its impact on fundamental American values like religious freedom and governance. They call for high voter turnout, especially among evangelicals, stressing the importance of protecting constitutional rights and the diverse voices within the community. Greg Seltz invites Dr. Michael Youssef of "Leading the Way," to discuss the confusion Christians face around voting. Dr. Youssef highlights portions of a free digital resource called, “A Biblical Worldview of Government: A Non-Partisan Perspective.” to bring biblical clarity. He discusses the importance of balancing civic duties with faith, urging believers to engage responsibly in government while upholding biblical values. Dr. Youssef later explains that while political outcomes matter, Christians should not rely on the government for what God has entrusted to individuals, families, and churches.  For the full Dr. Youseff interview, listen here.  Georgene Rice invites Michael Barone, author of “How America's Political Parties Change (and How They Don't).” to discuss the long-standing resilience of America's two major political parties. Barone examines historical challenges faced by both the Democrat and Republican parties, noting how each has survived major electoral defeats. Bob Burney underscores the importance of voting as both a privilege and a responsibility for believers, but also to not lose sleep over who wins or loses the election, considering that it is God who is in control.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Hour 1: Stugotz from the Dan Le Batard Show is in for Boomer today so it's Gio & Stugotz this morning. Gio told a story about Chris Russo and ‘the family', a group of guys at WFAN who would bet on games with Russo. Gio was only making $31K at the time and lost $1100 and 6 months later Russo came looking for it. C-Lo is in for Jerry and starts with audio from Steve Cohen talking about his conversation with Max Scherzer and not going all in on free agents next season. Gio does not like that Cohen is not going to do everything they can to win next year and it reminds him of the Wilpons. It sounds like the Mets are not going to make a legitimate offer for Ohtani. The Yankees beat the Rays last night behind a Giancarlo Stanton 3-run HR. Domingo German voluntarily entered an alcohol rehab program. The Jets play the Browns tonight in the Hall of Fame game and we'll see a lot of Zach Wilson. In the final segment of the hour, Stugotz talked about the dangers of NYC and having to dodge scooters and bicycles. And everyone is smoking weed everywhere.  Hour 2: Stugotz is excited to be on WFAN as he's been a huge fan of the station for many years. He was even excited to meet Eddie Scozarre. But he doesn't know who Dov is, which seems strange since he's been at WFAN since day one. Gio does not like that Steve Cohen said they will not be in on huge free agents. C-Lo returns for an update but first we talked about Jerry vacationing in Texas which is confusing to Gio. And McMonigle is going to Florida this month. C-Lo has audio from Cohen before the game. He didn't like the Mets' ‘crummy' odds to make the playoffs. He also said, ‘hope's not a strategy'. The Yankees beat the Rays 7-2 behind solid offense from Anthony Volpe and Giancarlo Stanton. Domingo German is entering an alcohol rehab problem and is done for the season. The Jets play the Browns tonight in an early pre-season game. In the final segment of the hour, we talked about being friends with someone and then that friend starts doing better in life and you don't hear back from them.  Hour 3: Giants GM Joe Schoen calls in. When he was working with the Dolphins he was a neighbor of Stugotz. He talked about his relationship with Saquon Barkley and how business isn't personal. He also talked about reasons why the RB position seems undervalued in the NFL. C-Lo returns for an update but first Stugotz said he liked betting better when it was illegal. We heard audio from Steve Cohen on what they accomplished dealing Scherzer and Verlander. Gio and C-Lo go at it over what Steve Cohen said or didn't say about next season. Aaron Boone was on Jomboy's ‘Talkin Yanks' podcast and was getting testy with the host about Aaron Judge getting days off. In the final segment of the hour, Youseff is in the studio to talk about the Women's World Cup and whether French women shave their armpits.  Hour 4: We talked about Steve Cohen meeting the press again yesterday and we are still debating on what he meant by what he said about next year and free agents. Is Gio selling out now that he's into golf so much? A caller tells us that Sal Licata has gone on vacation with Chris Russo just so Sal could watch his kids. Stugotz said he should have been working at WFAN many years ago because he's so passionate about the station. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with Brandon Nimmo reacting to Steve Cohen's comments before the game. Tommy Lugauer was screaming on the afternoon show, saying he would root for aliens over the Yankees. We played all of the ‘Jazz Chisolm' cuts for Stugotz. In the final segment of the show, the Jets play the Browns tonight in the Hall of Fame Game and we will be watching to see what Zach Wilson looks like.

The nation was on the cusp of entering the Land. After about a year at Sinai, the nation was ready to conquer Canaan. The invasion and war of conquest was imminent. Then catastrophe struck. Moshe sent 12 spies to reconnoiter the Land and report the back with their findings. Their report completely deflated the spirit of the nation. The ultimate result: the nation was condemned to spend 40 years in the wilderness, one year for every day that the spies spent in the Land. In this insightful podcast episode we explore the story of the spies in depth: we examine the fundamental disagreement between 10 of the spies and Joshua and Caleb, and we discover what it takes to do the impossible, to conquer the unconquerable.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –This Parsha Podcast is dedicated in loving memory of Asher ben Youseff. International report - Afghan NATO forces flee to Istanbul to seek refuge

International report

Growing numbers of Afghans who fought alongside NATO forces are arriving in Istanbul looking for help from the countries they once worked with. Youssef, an Afghan helicopter pilot, shows photos of the NATO forces he fought alongside against the Taliban.  "Our advisors they were from British, they were from the U.S., they were from Germans," said Youssef, "We worked shoulder by shoulder in making some plans against the insurgents." But with the Taliban seizing power Youseff says he is a marked man. "Right now, we are in the situation we can't stay in Afghanistan because all our database info is in the hand of the Taliban." Youssef says she was lucky to get a seat on the last scheduled Turkish Airlines flight to Istanbul as the Taliban entered Kabul. Now he's seeking a visa to one of the NATO country's he fought with.  Listening to Youssef is his friend, also a military pilot, who doesn't want to be identified. He came to Istanbul two months ago after receiving Taliban death threats. "I had some threats from Taliban; there were multiple threats. First, they were sending letters calling us at midnight. Then, they would call from a number they would call my father, they would call me, saying we will put a bomb right behind your door or under your car, and you wont to see your family again." The pilot is dismissive of Taliban promises not to seek retribution against those who fought against them. "I know the Taliban say they are not hurting anybody, but that is not true," he explains. "We are getting reports every day they are tracking people they are taking people from their homes, and the next day there is no news about them." Like Youseef, he has made numerous applications to NATO countries for a much-prized visa. "I tried Germany, then I tried Canada, I still have not got luck with any," the pilot says. "I have worked with Germans; I've worked with British we worked side by side, planning missions, doing missions. But when there is a bad time for you, if you don't get help from a friend or a colleague, it's very disappointing; and very frustrating," he added.  The two pilots live in Istanbul's Zeytinburnu district, dubbed by locals "Afghanburnu," because of its large Afghan population. Many here fled the Afghan conflict years ago.  But Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is ruling out taking in any new wave of Afghans. He points out the country is already hosting nearly five million refugees, mainly from the Syrian civil war.  Refugee rights groups claim the government's hardline extends even to refusing to allow NATO countries to use Turkey to process Afghans seeking visas.  "The Turkish government is not registering them inside Turkey. So they can't apply for asylum inside Turkey," said Ali Hekmat of Turkey's Afghan Refugee Solidarity Association. "They are living as illegal refugees as illegal people. They cant travel easily from one city to another city; they can't go to the hospital, so they don't have any chance to stay in Turkey," he added. "Just maybe they are working three months one month, or if they have money, they are starting another trip to Europe."   The two pilots are on tourist visas which will soon expire. But Youssef's fellow pilot has received the good news that his wife and three children were evacuated from Kabul and that the United States is now looking into his case. But Youssef thinks about his wife and two kids still trapped in Kabul.  "I am just thinking of my family if they are safe. I am safe right now. First of all, I think about their lives and nothing else," said Youssef. Neither man knows when or if they'll leave Istanbul and be reunited with their families. But both say they're lucky to have escaped the Taliban.

Dr. Michael Youseff: America's 'Crisis' of Truth; Hope is Turning Back to Christianity

Lighthouse Faith – FOX News Radio

There's a crisis in the world today; the rise of angry protests and the primal scream of politics are evidence. Yet, while it's easy to identify the problem, it's difficult to find a solution. Ah, but the solution has always been with us. It's God's truth and God's love  perfectly bound together in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Many theologians say Christianity is what built America, and its truths are what has sustained it. However, today's culture has let the passions of self, dictate its laws. Identity politics is where we are today. As one great theologian said, "fire makes a great servant, but a bad master." On this episode of Lighthouse Faith, Dr. Michael Youssef talks about what is lacking in this world, faith in God's authority. He offers a solution in his new book, "Hope for This Present Crisis." He makes the bold statement that America's turning from the Christian faith has been its undoing. And one of the main causes is happening right in the Church. Pastors themselves are watering down the Gospel to make it more user friendly to a secular society that is clamoring against its truths about gender, family and marriage. Listen to Dr. Youssef, founder and senior pastor of The Church of the Apostles in Atlanta, talk about the problem of cancel culture, indoctrination of students, and finally, the "Seven-step Path to Restoring a World Gone Mad."

This episode is all about human connection and offering help... We have a very distinguished guest today, Dr. Youssef Youssef. The President and Vice-Chair at The Chartered Institute of Marketing Management of Ontario (cimmo) and Program Coordinator and Professor, Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing Degree at Humber College. Today we continue our discussion in this normal and how it has affected small businesses more than big businesses. 95% of Canadian businesses are small businesses and unfortunately, they are the ones that are struggling the most due to lack of strategy, board members, advisors, etc. Dr.Youseff emphasizes on how big companies and marketing firms should come together and offer their expertise to help these businesses as much as possible. He also talks about the desperate need for LEADERSHIP from within companies during this difficult time in order to connect with your company's employees and customers and try to understand their problems and worries. Because we are all in this together... Thank you for your thoughtful approach Dr.Youseff.

Dr. Oz kicks things off by evaluating the response to coronavirus in California, especially as the rates of infection and mortality have lagged behind many other less-populated states.Oz called much of the state's response "nimble," "sage," and "decisive." While looking at Los Angeles specifically, which has yet to become a hot-spot akin to New York City, Oz pointed to aggressive social distancing practices, the non-reliance on public transportation, and early decisions to shutter schools and encourage wearing face masks.Face masks have recently become the subject of much debate nationally, in fact, during Friday's White House briefing, President Trump found himself in hot water when he said, despite CDC recommendations to wear masks in public, he would not."Wearing a mask is great, if you can find it," Oz said. "Until we get enough of them you should, however, use cloth. Not as good as a regular mask, but a face covering of that nature can still work."Still, while masks and other preventative measures may help to flatten the curve, another issue is lurking in the shadows, the issue of mental health. This, as millions of Americans now find themselves isolated, unemployed, and financially struggling."A lot of people are sitting at home now, worried, and appropriately anxious," Oz said. "Be a leader, find out what you're able to do better than anybody else... this may be your chance, this may define who you are. Take that baton and run as fast as you can, cause people desperately need help, and you could be the person who provides it."From the latest developments in the medical and psychological spheres, the conversation pivots to a more personal realm. This, as Dr. Oz's daily show has relocated to his basement after one of his staffers contracted the virus. Now relocated to a makeshift home studio, built earlier this year after covering the unfolding situation in China, Oz said he has now turned to his family for help producing his show, from his son who handles tech support to his wife who runs prompter and does hair and makeup."All of us are living this new life, don't think you're alone out there," Oz said. "Every single person you watch on television, every person you're talking to on Instagram stories, it's all the same basic story, we're just making due with what we've got."----------Considered by many to be the "Jon Stewart of Egypt," from 2011 to 2014 Bassem Youssef hosted a weekly political satire show watched by over 30 million. That was, until the satirist was arrested for insulting the newly installed, military-led government, and his show was banned. The conversation kicks off with an exploration of how the comedian's life, one accustomed to travel and large crowds, has changed in the age of Coronavirus. Youssef joked that the opportunity has allowed him to become reacquainted with his family."I'm getting to know my kids, and my kids are getting to know me," Youssef dead-panned. "At the beginning, they were kind of wondering 'who is that guy who's hanging around longer than he should be?'... Now, they are realizing that I am a part of their life, whether they like it or not."From the situation in his own home, the conversation  shifts to the impact the virus has had on the entertainment industry, especially in regards to late-night television, where hosts like Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, Samantha Bee, and others are now broadcasting from their homes.Youssef called the "show-must-go-on" mentality "courageous," saying "First of all, they are keeping the people behind the camera working, they are still maintaining their jobs, which is very important... they're keeping people entertained, they're keeping people sane."Youssef wrapped things up with a discussion of what he hopes and fears will emerge from the ongoing pandemic."My fear is that we, as humans, have a very short memory," Youssef said. "We don't seem to learn from our mistakes. We don't seem to learn from history."----------This week's episode of The Issue Is, the 100th, ended by coming full circle. In May of 2018, Gavin Newsom, then California's Lt Governor, was Elex's first guest, on the first episode of The Issue Is, then airing locally in just Los Angeles. This week, Elex once again spoke with Newsom, now Governor, asking how he's doing in this unprecedented moment, and how he feels seeing thousands of volunteers help deal with the state's on-going crisis."I'm inspired," Newsom said. "I've never been more damn inspired in my life."----------The Issue Is: with Elex Michaelson is California's only statewide political show. När flyktingarna strömmar in ökar spänningen i landet.
