I'm Josh Kopel, a Michelin-awarded restaurateur and the creator of the Restaurant Scaling System. I've spent decades in the industry, building, scaling, and coaching restaurants to become more profitable and sustainable. On this show, I cut through the noise to give you real, actionable strategies that help independent restaurant owners run smarter, more successful businesses. In this episode, I tackle the current state of SEO and why traditional strategies can be both expensive and ineffective. In this episode of Christ the Center, Camden Bucey is joined once again by Lane Tipton and Carlton Wynne for a substantive follow-up to their earlier discussion of Keith Mathison's Toward a Reformed Apologetic: A Critique of the Thought of Cornelius Van Til. In the months since their first review, Dr. Mathison published a blog response, prompting deeper analysis and clarification. Together, Drs. Bucey, Tipton and Wynne explore key critiques Mathison levels against Van Til, especially the claims of epistemological idealism and the so-called “omniscience requirement” for true knowledge. The panel addresses these concerns with thoughtful care, highlighting Van Til's emphasis on covenantal epistemology, the distinction between psychological and ethical knowledge, and the non-neutrality of unbelieving thought. The episode also tackles Mathison's treatment of common grace and the antithesis—core concepts in Van Til's apologetic system. Does Van Til teach that unbelievers attain true knowledge by way of common grace? What is the actual function of common grace in a fallen world? And how does Van Til preserve the absolute ethical antithesis between belief and unbelief without denying shared external reality or meaningful engagement? This is a clarifying and edifying conversation for anyone interested in Reformed theology, presuppositional apologetics, or the legacy of Cornelius Van Til. Music and Spiritual Readings on June 22, 2025, at the Ramakrishna Vedanta Society, Boston, MA
GM Alexandr Fier is a 5 time champion of Brazil and 9 time chess Olympian. He also recently qualified for the FIDE World Cup for the 8th time by finishing tied for first at the American Continental tournament. But aside from all of his impressive accomplishments, what interests me most about GM Fier is how frequently he competes. Last year alone, he played nearly 200 classical games,, and he has now travelled to over 50 countries. In our conversation we discussed: How he maintains his energy and positive outlook through a busy tournament calendar Why he thinks playing quickly gives him a competitive advantage. (Hence the nickname “No Fear”) How he reacted to getting some harsh feedback from legendary trainer IM Mark Dvoretsky at age 18. We also talked about GM Fier's recent qualification for the 2025 FIDE World Cup, his plans for the rest of 2025, and of course, chess books. It was a pleasure to chat with one of Brazil's top players, and I look forward to following his nonstop tournament adventures in the years to come. Thanks to our sponsor, Chessable.com! Alex Greene talks with Liza Kimble, a body therapist from South Africa who combines TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) with gentle touch work. Liza has worked with bodies for 32 years and discovered that lighter touch often works better than deep, painful massage. She works with both people and horses, teaching them how to release tension through natural tremoring.Liza shares how she went from doing very intense massage work to learning gentler approaches that help the nervous system feel safe. Her work with horses taught her important lessons about healing - when horses feel comfortable, they naturally start to shake and release stored stress. She's excited to present her work at a big research conference in New Orleans. The conversation covers how to combine different healing methods, why therapists need to take care of themselves, and Liza's interest in ancient wisdom about human behavior patterns. This episode helps both therapists and regular people understand how gentle body work can help heal trauma and calm the nervous system.Key Highlights:00:01 - Background introduction00:03 - Massage therapy beginnings00:05 - Psoas activation discovery00:07 - Meeting David Berceli00:09 - First TRE experience00:12 - Combining TRE fascial00:14 - Fascia Congress attendance00:16 - Horse tremoring discovery00:19 - Touch technique evolution00:22 - Client homework protocols00:25 - Horse therapy training00:29 - Traumatized horse transformation00:34 - Horse tremoring patterns00:37 - Equine therapy philosophy00:42 - Teaching methodology evolution00:44 - Upcoming Congress excitement00:50 - Human algorithm teachingsLinks and Resources: International Fascia Research Congress: https://www.frscongress.org/ Liza's Website: https://lizakimble.com/ Polyvagal Theory resources by Dr. Stephen Porges: https://www.polyvagalinstitute.org/whatispolyvagaltheory Tom Myers' Anatomy Trains and fascial meridians: https://www.myersmyofascialmeridians.com/ Blog Post

How I Grew and Continue to Grow the Aesthetic Practice I Love
I had the pleasure of interviewing Christin Trujillo, entrepreneur, finance expert, and author of Med Spa Profitability, a book I've personally read and highly recommend. Christin's story is both inspiring and instructive. After years in the finance world, she launched her own business called Maven Financial Partners. She shares her journey from corporate finance to becoming a CFO for hire. Today, she works with medical spas and entrepreneurs across the country. Her mission is to help business owners get their operations in order, to scale smartly, and prepare for a future exit or sale.As she mentioned, "any business worth having is worth planning your succession—otherwise, it's a lifestyle.” That insight alone is worth sitting with, especially for those who are so focused on growth that they haven't considered what comes next. What I appreciated most in our conversation was her honesty. She doesn't just offer highlights, she shares the real challenges, obstacles, and growing pains that come with scaling a business in medical aesthetics. Her advice is grounded in experience and her passion for helping others succeed. Whether you are just starting, in the middle of growing your practice, or thinking ahead to the future of your business, Christin brings clarity to the process and helps make financial strategy feel less overwhelming and more empowering. To learn more or get in touch with Christin Trujillo, explore the links below:Blog Post: https://www.dredwinwilliams.com/post/behind-the-numbers-how-to-grow-and-scale-your-medical-spa-from-a-cfo-s-perspectiveAbout Christin: https://www.mavenfp.com/team/christin-trujilloTo purchase her book: https://www.amazon.com/Med-Spa-Profitability-Profitable-Doing/dp/B0DVCC9T9GContact Maven Financial Partners: https://www.mavenfp.com/contact-us

Dylan also talks through some recent fantasy-world news, including the reported cancellation of The Wheel of Time and a very human but somewhat disgruntled blog post from George R.R. Martin about Winds of Winter (sort of)
