Today on Mea Culpa, I'm joined by Michael Wolff, journalist, columnist, and bestselling author of Fire and Fury, Siege, and Landslide, for a chilling deep dive into the disturbing relationship between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. Wolff is the only journalist to have conducted over 100 hours of interviews with Epstein before his death, and what he reveals is explosive. We discuss Trump and Epstein's twisted friendship (which ended before my time with Trump), why Epstein is suddenly back in the headlines, and how Trump is working overtime to distract from the files. From Polaroids of Trump at Epstein's house to Steve Bannon's involvement, we expose the secrets MAGA wants buried. I sat down with Democratic strategist Mike Nellis - and we covered it all, Trump's health, all things Epstein, a MAGA base increasingly angry and confused, and a Democratic Party, still trying to figure out how to be a strong, effective opposition. We also talked about our favorite Chicago spots. Check it out. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

The Wall Street Journal drops a front page story alleging Donald Trump wrote Jeffrey Epstein a 50th birthday card decades ago and drew a naked woman on it, a "bombshell" so preposterous, only MSNBC is seriously pushing it. Trump says he will sue the WSJ and Rupert Murdoch for printing the story despite his adamant denials that he wrote the "letter." Will the tall tale do the opposite the Deep State hopes and bring MAGA back to full-circle support for Trump? Generic polling doesn't look good for democrats.
Lawrence O'Donnell uses his prime time on MSNBC to float a wild theory that JD Vance is trying to use the Wall Street Journal's "reporting" about an Epstein birthday card to push Trump out of office. A FOIA request reveals Joe Biden's EPA and Norfolk Southern tampered with soil samples in East Palestine Ohio. CBS sacks Stephen Colbert citing money problems and the media go bonkers. Trump pulls the plug on California's high speed rail boondoggle.
Another domino falls as CBS has canceled the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. It comes just three days after Colbert ripped the network for settling a lawsuit with President Trump and it has Adam Schiff and Liz Warren demanding answers and maybe an investigation if this was politically motivated. They cover the brutal deportation of innocent people under current policy, including a chilling Stephen Miller sound bite defending the practice. American citizens have secured two more YUGE Second Amendment wins at the hands of President Donald Trump's Department of Justice. The first of these wins involves the news breaking yesterday afternoon that the Trump Department of Justice has dropped all efforts in its litigation against arm braces for firearms. The Biden administration had sought to classify pistols equipped with arm braces as “short barreled rifles,” which would result in these firearms being treated in the same manner as machine guns for purposes of federal registration, tax laws, and criminal prosecution. The second of these wins relates to a federal court distinguishing between the class of persons who qualify for Second American protections, noting that the Second Amendment applies to the People, meaning American citizens (and perhaps permanent legal residents who have been accepted as such by the US government), but NOT to mere people (lower case) meaning even those who are illegally present in the US—the 100 million illegal migrant third-world invaders in currently infesting our nation. Both of these are important, but the second particularly so, as it highlights the distinction between People (upper case) and people (lower case) within the United States, which will also have important implications in the upcoming litigation around so-called birthright citizenship. Distinguishing these two classes of persons is essential to America's national survival—America is for Americans, it is not for all 8 billion people on the planet. Donald Trump is already backing away from an exposé in the Wall Street Journal detailing his bestie relationship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The WSJ report includes a birthday note Trump reportedly wrote for Epstein that includes a drawing of a naked lady and ominous words about them having so much in common and wishes for ongoing secrets. Trump says it's not his letter, but after slamming closed the Epstein investigation and releasing none of the promised files, that's a pretty tough claim to believe. CBS appears to still be running scared of Trump and his threats of lawsuits and FCC retaliation. The cancellation of Stephen Colbert‘s late night show, which was highly critical of Trump, seems like the latest capitulation to the President. It's a fail for the network of Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather. We'll talk about all of it with journalist Anthony Davis. The political conversation continuous with This Week in Politics featuring Jim Avila and possibly Michael Shure, who might be outside the studio picketing instead due to lack of a Mark Thompson Show coffee mug.
During an interview with NY1, Zohran Mamdani, the Democratic mayoral nominee, shot back at rival Andrew Cuomo, questioning the former governor's interest to "help working people." When asked where he stands on the phrase “globalize the intifada,” Mamdani said the distance between what some intend and what others hear is “a bridge that is too far,” and it is why he now discourages its use. Mamdani also discussed his recent visit to the nation's capital and how his campaign has started a discourse on a potential strategy shift for the Democrats, saying much of it has to do with engaging young people. He also shared his stance on city-specific issues, such as mayoral control of schools and the NYPD, saying he would continue to appoint the school's chancellor and sustain the current head count of the police department.
David Waldman takes us to the edge of the week but can't keep us from falling into the weekend. Bawdy? Is that what we're calling it? Jeffery Epstein, who could be considered naughty, and kind of affiliated, was never known to have had a shortage of close personal friends. His 50th birthday party had a great turnout of sincere well-wishers, including Donald K. Trump, who was both his best friend for over a dozen years, and hardly even knew him, in fact barely even met him outside of the hundreds of times that they hung out. So, of all of the ribald birthday wishes Jeff received, the one from Donald is definitely the one Donald did not write, and did not sign, and especially did not write a picture on. Donald does not write pictures. You know that things must be out of control if Trump is releasing medical information into the news cycle. Trump's socks look like he rotates his filled Depends there, but officially he has “Chronic Venous Insufficiency” which technically describes that Trump's brains have fallen into his shoes. It would also explain his feeble Epstein distraction brought to you by Coca-Cola. Luckily for Trump, CBS threw him a big lifeline by firing Steven Colbert. The only thing that could delight Trump more would be having Jimmy Kimmel eaten by an alligator. Great news! AI Chatbots have been telling their billionaire investors that they will be earning trillions of dollars soon and that those checks will start pouring in, in about two weeks.
Last night the Wall Street Journal published a hit piece on Trump involving... Jeffrey Epstein. The President says he'll sue because it's all contrived nonsense brought to you by conniving haters related to those who concocted the discredited Steele Dossier.
These people will get no rest over the next 4 years. I can only imagine being them if I recall the horror of waking up to Obama and Biden presidencies. But Democrats in their woke wacky minds must be going even more bananas, as they wake up to a world of Trump Derangement Syndrome.Let's start with the obvious: Donald Trump currently has the Democratic Party in a chokehold so tight, it makes a UFC fighter look like a timid masseuse. And the Left's coping strategy? A mix of wishful thinking and performative outrage—like a trombone player at a silent retreat, desperately tooting into the void. Now, Democrats are salivating over the possibility that the Epstein saga might fracture Trump's base. Oh, how cute. They're clinging to this like it's the last life raft on the Titanic—ignoring the fact that their own captain (hi, Bill Clinton) is already underwater on that one. The irony is thicker than the classified files in Biden's garage. But mark my words: This "scandal" will vanish faster than Hunter Biden's art buyers.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
If that's not bad enough, President Trump cut the majority of funding for Democrats. I read that 83% of USAID programs have been eliminated. So ActBlue not only has no funding, but under the new scrutiny, the little funding they have will be monitored like an enemy combatant in GITMO.Next, what happens when Trump keeps getting good news. While all the naysayers contend that tariffs will raise the price of everything, we get the latest news that the Producer Price Index was ZERO. Sadly for Democrats, that means there was NO inflation in June. All the numbers were better than forecasted.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Send us a textIn this episode, we cover everything from Trump's compulsive lying and the Mormon Church's complicity in capitalist power structures, to Bel-Air acid trips, murder kinks in scripture, and Jesus maybe being a little gayer than we were taught. We draw parallels between culty MAGA thinking and Mormonism, laugh about being perceived as “different than we imagined,” and land in the deep mystery of belief — how none of us knows what the hell is going on, and that's kind of the point. There's also a closet recording setup, some time-traveling intimacy with our listeners, and a lot of “wtf even is hydrogen?”As always, we don't claim to know anything for sure, but we're here dreaming with you. Maybe if we realize we're dreaming this together… we can dream it better.

The season 15 finale – an interesting development regarding “Tom's Thoughtful Suggestions” segment in the last episode; House Republicans vote unanimously to not release the Epstein Files that Trump now says are a hoax; Trump turns on his base; why is there bruising on Trump's hand; Trump can't believe Fed Chair Jerome Powell was appointed even though he's the one who appointed him; Hammond, Indiana's Festival of the Lakes starts with a bang and continues through this weekend.
Donald Trump has instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi to request the unsealing of federal grand jury documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. The move follows mounting public interest and skepticism surrounding the government's handling of the case, particularly after the DOJ declared the Epstein matter closed and reiterated that no “client list” exists. Trump framed the decision as a step toward transparency, stating it would help end speculation and restore public trust. Bondi responded that she is prepared to move quickly to file the appropriate motions in court. While the directive represents a notable shift in approach, the actual impact of releasing grand jury materials remains uncertain. Such records are typically subject to strict legal protections and, even if unsealed, may contain redactions or limited information. The release could shed light on previously undisclosed aspects of the case, but by itself, it may not address broader questions surrounding Epstein's network, co-conspirators, or institutional failures. As a standalone action, it opens the door to further scrutiny but does not guarantee meaningful new revelations unless followed by deeper, sustained investigative efforts.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:Bondi says she'll try to unseal Epstein grand jury records - ABC News

From the minute Donald Trump came down the golden escalator, the Republican establishment has hated his guts. In the 2016 primary, the brash New York billionaire was treated by mainstream GOP leaders and commentators as a joke responsible for degrading the political process. As the real estate tycoon gained momentum, establishment figures had two choices: Declare yourself "never Trump" or pretend to have seen the light. Many fled to organizations like the Bulwark or the Lincoln Project, but others stayed around waiting for their moment to recapture the Republican Party from the MAGA populists. Now that Trump has come to define the GOP, the establishment figures who loathed him from the beginning have a new strategy. If you can't beat MAGA, co-opt the movement.
Suddenly, Trump and friends don't want to talk about Jeffrey Epstein or what happened to files and client lists that Trump and his conspiracy theorist supporters spent so much time demanding the release of. As MAGA turns on itself, calling for information from Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI leaders Kash Patel and Dan Bongino, Trump is now blaming Democrats. The President, who was very good friends with Jeffrey Epstein and who many have suspected would have his name all over those files, is blaming Presidents Obama and Biden and accusing them of altering whatever's in the files (the files he likely ordered Bondi not to release.) Trump now says Democrats must've tampered with them. It would appear like a preemptive strike from someone who knows his name will come up. Meanwhile, the Department of Justice just fired former FBI director James Comey's daughter Maureen, who served as the prosecutor in the case against Epstein. From an administration that prides itself on “transparency“ why does it look like a big old cover-up? Former federal prosecutor, now defense attorney, David Katz will swing by the show to talk about the termination of Maureen Comey and recent Supreme Court decisions.
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act cuts almost $500 billion in US clean-energy spending, just as the country was starting to get serious about its climate goals. Some say the country is acting like a petrostate, waging war against clean energy. Others are more sanguine and believe that the US will stay the course in the long term. This week on Zero, Akshat Rathi is joined by Jigar Shah, a clean energy expert and former head of the Department of Energy's Loan Programs Office, to make sense of the bill’s impacts, and whether it’s as bad for climate as it seems. President Trump called for Pam Bondi to release any credible evidence related to Jeffrey Epstein, the president has repeated this is another Democrat hoax and people are being duped by this ongoing controversy. Alan Dershowitz has said no one in office is in the case file; if President Trump were culpable, Joe Biden probably would have released the files during his presidency. Looks like everyone's lips are sealed when it comes to Joe Biden's competency. Anthony Bernal, Jill Biden's Chief of Staff has now pleaded the Fifth Amendment to prevent self-incrimination. The scandal deepens and points to corruption at the highest level considering this is the office of the presidency. Rep. Byron Donalds is calling for everyone in Biden's administration to be subpoenaed, stating that if Biden was not able to perform his duties, everything he signed is essentially null and void. In the midst of this, President Trump has gotten more wins for the American people including the most secure border in U.S. history, more than 35% of harmful dyes out of our food and a trade deal with Indonesia. Our panel is here to unpack everything, including this week's winners and losers.
