They define and discuss the three cauldrons of Celtic shamanism. Rhonda offers her views on cultural appropriation, which some find controversial. She also walks us through a simple and effective technique for emotional healing and nervous system regulation. Throughout the hour, they examine the concept of selfishness in healing and personal growth and what that truly means.✨ Learn more about Rhonda https://centreforshamanism.com/Time Stamps:00:00 Introduction to Beyond the Reiki Gateway00:56 Meet Rhonda McCrimmon: From Accountant to Celtic Shaman03:59 Understanding Celtic Shamanism08:12 Cultural Appropriation in Spiritual Practices21:08 The Three Cauldrons: Energy Centers in Celtic Shamanism30:54 Understanding the Three Cauldrons31:17 Healing the Lower Cauldron33:02 Recapitulation Technique34:36 Personal Experiences and Effectiveness35:06 Practical Steps for Recapitulation38:26 Balancing Knowledge and Mystery39:41 Awareness and Self-Care44:13 Journeying and Connecting with Guides47:26 The Upper Cauldron and Service to Others50:20 The Importance of Selfishness55:06 Concluding Thoughts and FarewellSupport the show

Rhonda McCrimmon is a shamanic teacher who brings the ancient wisdom of Celtic shamanism to life. This spiritual tradition dates back to pre-Christian times in northern Europe and emphasizes the importance of balancing the body's three energy centers or "cauldrons" to achieve physical, spiritual, and emotional health. The three cauldrons are the Cauldron of Warming, the Cauldron of Motion, and the Cauldron of Wisdom. Rhonda McCrimmon takes readers on a journey to activate, nurture, and maintain each cauldron's unique potential. The Cauldron of Warming is the source of our inner knowledge and can be depleted by past traumas, leaving us anxious and fearful. Rhonda teaches you how to replenish this cauldron and restore inner peace and security. The Cauldron of Motion represents our capacity to love and nurture. It is on its side at birth and fills as we experience deep grief or joy. Rhonda shows you how to balance this cauldron, establish healthy boundaries, and protect yourself from emotional drain. The Cauldron of Wisdom is the source of a profound connection with nature. It is upside down at birth, but once righted, it can provide one of the most sublime gifts of Celtic spirituality. Rhonda guides you on how to activate this cauldron and receive this gift. With self-reflections and other exercises, Rhonda McCrimmon helps readers activate and balance their inner cauldrons, dispel fear by tapping into innate wisdom, work through past traumas, foster love, nurture emotional resilience, and manifest their creative potential through rituals and meditations. The book also explores the tradition of Celtic fire festivals and the sacred practice of saining. Rhonda invites readers of all ancestral roots to explore this ancient wisdom and begin their journey down the shaman's path. Self reflection is really great for mental well being because quickly, you can become firm in not only your areas of challenge in life & in work, but equally, your areas of strength (borne from challenge). Allowing you to be confident in knowing who you, and therefore you can for example, remain free of the projections of other people that might flavour how to think and feel about yourself & your work.  Question prompts for self reflection included for journalling or thinking. Get Started Today with Jane's FREE Online Evergreen Event: The Gifts of Celtic ShamanismIf you are drawn to the topic of Celtic Shamanism or Celtic Shamanism training, today is your lucky day!Listen in as I interview Celtic Shamanism practitioner, teacher, author, and really engaging storyteller, Jane Burns.Jane has been a Celtic shamanism trainer for over a decade as well as a gifted practitioner of sacred and time-honored Celtic shamanic practices including soul retrieval, extraction, spiritual healing, ancestral healing, community healing and reconnection to our soul's purpose and life plan.During our interview, I ask Jane the following questions:How did the shamanic path help you with the diagnosis of cancer back in 1996?What's your definition of a shaman? I understand shamans are not self-proclaimed they are appointed by the community or perhaps Divine Grace. Sandra Ingerman likes to embrace the notion of being a shamanic practitioner and invoking the higher consciousness of 1,000's of years of the indigenous devotional ceremony, healing and prayer. As a Celtic shamanic practitioner, what is it that you do? Did you work 1-on-1? This inquiry leads to a discussion on soul retrieval.I asked Jane, "What is soul retrieval?"In 2006 (10 years after you discovered your shamanic path ) you began to teach shamanic studies….Where did you teach? How did people find you or how did you connect with your students?I love the title of your book “Up a Tree” (shamanic novel and handbook).I see it was published, not too long ago in 2014, can you tell us a little bit more about that? Is it somewhat autobiographical?I see you studied “core shamanism” with Sandra Ingerman…what is core shamanism? Then I see you studied Celtic shamanism with Tom Cowan.  What is Celtic Shamanism? So you teach a variety of courses.Celtic ShamanismCeltic myth andBardic traditionYou are currently at work with a new novel: The Hungry Sea…how's that coming along and can you share a little bit about the book?Let's chat about your current event with The Shift Network:The Gift of Celtic Shamanism…what kind of CeltDiscover the Gifts of Celtic Shamanism Reclaim your destiny and fulfill the higher purpose of your soul's calling with Jane BurnsDisclaimer: This post contains affiliate links. There is wisdom in ancient truths. There is power in modern day technology. Both ancient and modern traditions have attempted to answer moral questions that transcend time. How can we blend the wisdom of age old traditions with the truths of the 21st century? How is maintaining a sense of curiosity about “accepted truths” essential to wellness? Listen as we explore these questions. Focus Virtues: Awareness and Curiosity We must have awareness regarding concepts, ideas, laws, and procedures that are deemed as true. Bringing our awareness to different ideologies that are accepted as true (example: it is normal to get married and have kids) allows us to separate the idea itself from our own thoughts and opinions. Awareness of what we accept as true then allows for curiosities about these concepts. Why do we believe these notions? Who is behind the marketing of these laws? Is anyone financially benefiting from this being the dominant belief of society? This awareness and curiosity then allows us to tap into our own intuition around such constructs. Before today's conversation I didn't know much about Celtic Shamanism. Today's guest, Darragh Stewart is a shining beacon of knowledge and joy. As a PhD in plant molecular biology, he has gone all in on plant medicine to support his psychedelic Irish brothers and everyone else who needs to break through the blockages in their lives. On the show, we talk about how Darragh blends science and spirituality. We get into the origin and structure of Inwardbound Psychedelic Retreats, which take place legally in the Netherlands. We talk about Darragh's passion for men's work including the integration group he co-founded called the "Psychedelic Brothers of Ireland." Finally, we get into Celtic Shamanism and efforts to heal the broken lineage of holistic and ancestral healing in Ireland. One important note: At Inwardbound, all clients go through a strict pre-screening process. In order to attend the retreats, participants cannot have a diagnosed psychiatric illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar, clinical depression or a personality disorder. Similarly, Inwardbound is not able to accommodate participants dealing with serious addiction, substance abuse issues, or who have a personal or family history of psychosis. If this is the case for you, it is recommended that you apply for a clinical research trial. This week on the Wisdom of Wyse Woman podcast, we are diving into an introduction of Celtic Shamanism, hosted by a Wyse Woman on the path of Celtic shamanism. We start by talking about what shamanism is: it is a way of life, a way of relating to the self, the earth, and to others, including plants, animals and people. The call to shamanism is a striking resonance that shows up and then, like a drum beat, grows louder and stronger until it resonates off the bone. That's when you know it has come for you. It is a lifestyle that requires great change. It is a way to the soul self and all of the gifts that the unique soul self has to heal the individual life and the surrounding earth and world. Indigenous cultures and tribes around the world have a shaman, who is responsible for upholding the connection between Spirit and the community, and this comes through many healing traditions, practices and ceremonies performed by the shaman. In this episode, we speak about lineage, ancestral karma and how it works with our current physical reality. We get into the tools and practices used by people on the shamanic path, such as the drum which is a reverberation of the human heart as well as the heart of the universe that calls to our oneness with plants, animals, earth and other humans. The drum can be used in many rituals, ceremonies, including the shamanic journey. The shamanic journey is performed to retrieve and gain insight, advice and guidance from the spiritual realms from plant, animal and other spirit guides. This is done by using the drum at a certain rhythm to travel to these other realms through an altered state of consciousness. The three worlds of the shaman are the Upper World, the Lower World, and the Middle World, and these can be accessed through journey work, where the spirit guides of the realm can be interacted with. Healing modalities used by the shamanic practitioner include working with energy, herbs, and with nature, among many other things. Celtic shamanism holds the sacred practice of Tree Medicine, which involves working with the healing wisdom and protection of the trees. Celtic Shamanism also holds sacred the working with the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine in the form of the gods and goddess of the ancient Celtic pantheon. We discuss the sacred animals of the ancient Celts, that are both symbols as well as actual animals that were native to the landcape of the native Celtic tribes, including the salmon, the bear, the stag, the raven and the hawk. To wrap up this jam time, I discuss my path of the shamanic life so far, how I was called and how I am working with the calling. We come full circle when I share that this path, including my path, is a lifelong study and practice that broadens and deepens with every cycle of life. Join me for a Mountain and Wind meditation, where we merge our selves with the strong tallness of the mountain, and the creative, cleansing force of the wind to hear our soul voices. We ask "What do I need  to know right now", and we invite the voice of our souls to speak to us in the quiet moments where we are merged with the powerful energies of two features of nature. We move into a pranayama (breathing) practice where I use the drum to count and encourage the inhalation and exhalation. We end the episode with blessings and encouragement for your week! During our interview, I ask Jane the following questions:How did the shamanic path help you with the diagnosis of cancer back in 1996?What’s your definition of a shaman? How did people find you or how did you connect with your students?I love the title of your book “Up a Tree” (shamanic novel and handbook). Welcome to another fascinating episode of Unclassified Woman. It's a biggie so grab a cuppa and a journal ;-) Today I'm speaking with a treasured mentor of mine, Seren Bertrand. It's always such a pleasure to speak to her as she weaves together so many colourful threads of wisdom in what she shares. What do mermaids, swans, Isis, harps, and Cornwall have in common? You might be surprised---and you’ll never know if you don’t listen to this amazing conversation in today’s show. We’re talking about feminine consciousness, Celtic traditions, the interconnectedness between the human body and the earth, how we tell our stories from generation to generation---and much, much more. Get ready for some major “Aha” moments! Seren Bertrand is a womb mystic and midwife of feminine consciousness who has been a visionary leader in women’s empowerment for over two decades. She is the co-founder of The Fountain of Life Feminine Mystery School and the co-author of Womb Awakening: Initiatory Wisdom from the Creatrix of All Life, which has been described as a revelation and a masterpiece. It’s an amazing book and I highly recommend that you get yourself a copy!  "Often we are called to a lineage or a place and we don’t know why. We just have to surrender, listen and travel with it." - Seren Bertrand Seren graduated with a degree in English Literature and Modern Philosophy before embarking on the twin paths of a career in writing as well as journeying deeply into the spiritual feminine traditions. Her writing on female Tibetan refugees was nominated for an Amnesty International Award for human rights reporting. She is passionate about the practical embodied awakening of women and men in a mystical yet no-nonsense way which calls us into our true feelings, brings us back into the body, and roots us into the wisdom of the earth.  What you’ll hear in this episode: How the book-writing process felt like a pregnancy with a gestation of more than five years---and then a birth. Receiving the Silver Nautilus Award for the book, which covers many topics that were considered forbidden and heretical for thousands of years: menstruation, lunar consciousness, and birthing wisdom. For Seren, the book’s release has brought deep feeling states of the feminine consciousness. Allowing yourself to become the container for the primordial birthing energy in every part of nature. The next book that she and her partner, Azra are already working on and how it feels like a continuation of that birthing process. The academic reading and research that goes into the writing journey. Listening with your entire body and not just your mind and ears and how oral traditions factored into ancient Celtic Shamanism. Plans to create an audiobook version with harp accompaniment. How a book is connected to your voice and vibration, which is connected to your womb, transmitting waves of energy and sound. Discovering the path of the swan priestess in Celtic mythology The cellular memory in Seren’s DNA of the Druids and Celtic traditions. The tradition of the prehistoric, feminine, Shamanistic, earth-centric womb religion of the faery folk and their history. Stories as a connection and an intimate weaving of “patchwork consciousness”. Seren’s interest from a young age in having a great love for the land and a feeling that different places have different personalities and characteristics. The significance of Cornwall as a sacred site. How to explain ley lines, womb awakening, and the gift of the human body. Understanding that the human body is more than a “mechanical lump of flesh” and why it’s a sacred landscape. The benefit of spiritual lineage in how they transmit through an unbroken thread in epigenetic memory. The calling in Seren’s life of the harp and how she learned to play and find her teacher. Why womb consciousness is the key to all creation. The story of Cygnus and its significance, Seren’s “Star Swan” name, and the swan connections to ancient Celtic traditions. One of the foundations of womb witchcraft: developing a lineage with the earth. Why the swan is the symbol of feminine Shamanic traditions in cultures across the world. The portals of life and death and the common threads between the mermaid and the swan. The mermaid and the swan priestess: not just symbols, but the legacy of real-life women who are our ancestors who are transmitting to us. The significance of the 11th day of the 11th month in Pagan worship and the swan feast, which is based on the migratory patterns of the swan. The interconnectivity of each of us to the earth and the celestial realm. The importance of taking guidance from our ancient ancestors: “You have to connect backward before you can move forward.” How stories can find a voice to reveal themselves in succeeding generations, even in trauma: “If we don’t tell the story, then we pass it forward to the generations after us.” The courage that comes in the gift of going through the shadows Resources: www.thefountainoflife.org  - For more information about Seren and her work. This is a delightful and animated conversation between two people who are, in many ways, kindred spirits. Nina Hirlaender is the founder of Dancing Spirit Tours, a company that leads sacred pilgrimage trips throughout Europe. Nina has a kind of breathless passion for mysticism that, honestly, is quite contagious. Today we're talking about some of the indigenous spiritual practices of Indo-European cultures such as Celtic shamanism. Nina shares her surprising journey from her Celtic roots to her passion for Catholic mysticism. Once again, the term "pan-Germanic" comes up again on the podcast. It's lovely to hear Nina share her stories of growing up with her grandmother in her native Austria, learning about the nature spirits and faeries. And hedgehogs! So magical! Nina experienced her spiritual initiation after her cancer diagnosis and recovery. Hearing about her journey is both harrowing and inspiring. And of course, we can't have a good conversation about Catholic mysticism without talking about some of our heroes including Francis of Assisi, Teresa of Avila, and Mary Magdalene, and some of its sacred places like Chartres Cathedral. I was also very compelled by Nina's reminder of the Marian/Goddess tradition within Catholicism. (A book I highly recommend if you're interested in Mary Magdalene is The Meaning of Mary Magdalene: Discovering the Woman at the Heart of Christianity by Cynthia Bourgeault) It was a pleasure to talk to someone who, like me, loves grief and declares it ecstatically like a true mystic.

Tom Cowan, a shamanic practitioner of Celtic visionary and healing techniques, joins us this week to discuss “Self in Service,” the Society of Shamanic Practitioners (SSP) 7th annual conference. Tom is a much loved teacher and an internationally respected author, lecturer, and tour leader. He is also a founding board member of the SSP. This year’s conference is the first exploration as a community into of one aspect of the SSP’s mission: learning to practice shamanism without borders and to respond to the voices of the wounded within the Land. These will be intense days of experiential shamanism. This year the conference format is radically changed to allow for large and small groups to focus healing responses to places and beings that have suffered traumatic experiences. This new structure is designed so that all the steps involved in responding to trauma from natural disasters are activities attendees shall undertake and do together, including learning how to tend and grow themselves. Fundamental to Shamanism Without Borders is the belief that as people practicing this medicine, it is incumbent to learn what the disasters teach us individually while protecting ourselves from being part of the disaster.
