As New York City celebrates Zohran Mamdani's primary win, MAGA, Wall Street, and a handful of Democrats succumb to socialist paranoia. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth lashes out at the press after CNN reports that last weekend's airstrikes barely set back Iran's nuclear program. President Trump pressures Congress to pass his Big Bullshit Bill by July 4th, despite a new ruling from the Senate Parliamentarian that could sink it altogether. Jon and Dan react to Senator Mitch McConnell's claim that "people back home" will "get over" Medicaid cuts, the administration's desperate attempt to make their Iran strikes look like a success, and offer Zohran-skeptical Democrats some honest advice about what their voters want. Then, Jon talks to Congressman Robert Garcia, the new top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, about investigating ICE and why he thinks Stephen Miller is the "biggest piece of shit in the country."
Immigration activist Thomas Kennedy joins Billy Corben in studio to talk about a new detention center that is being built in The Everglades. Plus, Alejandro de la Fuente, professor of History and African American Studies at Harvard, joins the program to talk about the effect of Donald Trump's attempt to block foreign students from entering colleges and universities in America Learn more about your ad choices. On Thursday's Mark Levin Show, the Senate parliamentarian is blocking Medicaid changes to waste, fraud, and abuse in the big, beautiful bill. House Republicans proposed tightening Medicaid eligibility with work requirements and restrictions on illegal aliens, but the Senate parliamentarian deemed these changes outside budget reconciliation, exposing the bill to a filibuster. The Senate's decision not to challenge this ruling perpetuates Medicaid misuse. Additionally, the Senate opposes raising the $10,000 cap on home mortgage interest and property tax deductions, disproportionately affecting taxpayers in high-tax blue states. We need to maximize tax deductions for individuals no matter if they live in a blue or a red state. Presidents Reagan and Trump's tax policies fueled economic growth. Also, Zohran Mamdani, a New York City mayoral candidate, is a dangerous Marxist Islamist with ties to anti-Semitic and anti-Israel activities. Mamdani's proposals, including city-owned grocery stores, massive tax increases, and refusing to cooperate with ICE, are policies that could drive out productive residents, attract welfare-seekers, Islamists, and Marxists, and lead to economic disaster for New York City. If Mamdani gets elected you will see authoritarian democracy in NYC. Authoritarian democracies mimic authoritarian regimes, using seemingly legitimate legal processes—such as passing tyrannical laws or disregarding due process—to justify power, prioritizing legality over justice or morality. Later, John Catsimatidis, owner of Red Apple Media and grocery chains Gristedes and D'Agostino Supermarkets, calls in to warn that he'll close his grocery stores if Mamdani wins the NYC mayor race. Catsimatidis explains that Mamdani's policies, including massive tax increases and defunding the police, would drive businesses out and harm the city's economy. In addition, capitalism drives innovation and improves quality of life by creating wealth through valuable goods and services, such as grocery store chains offering affordable, diverse food options. In contrast, Marxism destroys societies without producing tangible benefits. Capitalism underpins everyday conveniences—clean water, electricity, advanced healthcare, and mobility—unmatched globally. Marxist and socialist ideologies promise unattainable utopias while overlooking capitalism's capacity to foster equality through social mobility, enabling anyone to rise from poverty to wealth. Finally, Johnny Joey Jones calls in to discuss his new book, Behind the Badge – Answering The Call To Serve on America's Homefront. Learn more about your ad choices. The Supreme Court will issue a slew of major opinions today on what's expected to be the final day of its current term. Still outstanding are decisions in cases over President Donald Trump's birthright citizenship order, a voting rights challenge in Louisiana, LGBTQ books in schools, and more. On Thursday, the court also paved the way for states to bar Planned Parenthood from receiving Medicaid funds, even for services not at all related to abortion. Jessica Levinson, a law professor at Loyola Low School in Los Angeles, explains the justices' Planned Parenthood opinion and what they might have in store for us today. And in headlines: Republicans are racing to meet a July 4th deadline to pass President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill despite yet another major setback in the Senate, Congress is still at odds over whether the US strikes on Iran “obliterated” the country's nuclear program, and a CDC vaccine panel made recommendations that could make it harder to get the flu vaccine.Show Notes:Subscribe to the What A Day Newsletter – https://tinyurl.com/3kk4nyz8What A Day – YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/@whatadaypodcastFollow us on Instagram – https://www.instagram.com/crookedmedia/For a transcript of this episode, please visit crooked.com/whataday
Michael Savage reacts to the Democrat primary in New York City, where socialist and jihadist sympathizer Zohran Mamdani could become the city's next mayor. He reflects on the city's social and political decline. Then, he critiques CNN and other media outlets for undermining reports about the success of the U.S. strike mission in Iran. Savage praises Trump's defense of the pilots and questions whether CNN is guilty of sedition. He revisits his stance as an anti-war conservative, referencing his book "Trump's War" where he wrote about Trump's war against the War Machine. Savage stresses the need for peace between all peoples and nations.
New York State Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani pulled off an astonishing upset this week. In the New York City Democratic mayoral primary, he beat out the long-favored winner, former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who conceded the race only hours after the polls closed. The two candidates were of the same party, but held very different positions within it: Cuomo is older, spent more than a decade as Governor and positioned himself as a law-and-order centrist. Mamdani is younger, newer to politics and a total progressive. This is a primary race in just one city, but it's been making national news and could shake up the Democratic party's strategy post-Trump re-election. Brittany sits down with Christian Paz, senior politics reporter at Vox, and Max Rivlin-Nadler, reporter and co-publisher at Hell Gate, a local news site for New York City. They discuss what this race says about where progressive energy is coming from - and why the Democrats might be having a Tea Party moment.Learn more about sponsor message choices: podcastchoices.com/adchoicesNPR Privacy Policy

Did Justice Sotomayor just outfox the Trump DOJ by sending out an “invitation” to a Massachusetts federal judge to find a way to circumvent a recent Supreme Court ruling to make sure that deportees obtain due process before being sent to countries like South Sudan or Libya? Michael Popok takes a close look at Sotomayor's dissent, the next steps taken by Judge Murphy to tell the Trump Administration that the Court's ruling doesn't stop his other “remedial” orders, and Trump's DOJ rushing to the Court and asking for a “clarification” because the Judge is being mean and “defiant.” For their buy 1 get 1 50% off deal, head to https://3DayBlinds.com/LEGALAF Subscribe: @LegalAFMTN Visit https://meidasplus.com for more! President Trump's decision to strike Iran has sparked debate in Congress over the executive branch's ability to take military action without authorization. The strikes Trump ordered last week were in line with recent precedent. But some critics and supporters alike are calling for restrictions to his ability to take further action in Iran. House Speaker Mike Johnson called the debate ill-timed, and openly questioned the constitutionality of the War Powers Act. That act requires the president to seek Congressional approval before declarations of war. Is this another battleground in the fight over legislative checks and balances?Trump's assistance with a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran led to a warm reception at a NATO security summit later in the week. The summit was planned to discuss the war in Ukraine, the conflict between Israel and Iran, and other alliance concerns. Much of the focus landed on the ceasefire and an agreement by members to commit 5% of their GDP to defense. The new spending mark was seen as a major concession to Trump, who had threatened since his first term to leave the alliance if it wasn't met. But was the decision made more for self-preservation than appeasement?Zohran Mamdani, a 33-year-old democratic socialist, won the Democratic primary in New York City's mayoral race. Progressives are pointing to his victory as a beacon for Democrats nationwide to push further to the left. Does that ignore the fact that he ran against the scandal-ridden former governor Andrew Cuomo?

The judge chastises the DOJ's lawyers for offering unreliable double and triple hearsay evidence, and points out that some of the "evidence" the DOJ offered the court "defies common sense".Glenn also discusses how, by having her DOJ lawyers go into court and take unsupportable positions, Attorney General Pam Bondi is delegitimizing the DOJ.If you're interested in supporting our all-volunteer efforts, you can become a Team Justice patron at: / glennkirschner If you'd like to support Glenn and buy Team Justice and Justice Matters merchandise visit:https://shop.spreadshirt.com/glennkir...Check out Glenn's website at https://glennkirschner.com/Follow Glenn on:Threads: https://www.threads.net/glennkirschner2Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/glennkirschner2Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/glennkirsch...Bluesky: https://bsky.app/profile/glennkirschn...TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/glennkirschner2See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Listen to the rest of this premium episode by subscribing at patreon.com/knowyourenemy.Donald Trump's rise in U.S. politics over the past decade has been inextricable from his "America First" foreign policy and withering criticisms of the Iraq War, nation building, and both the neoconservatism that led the Republican Party to disaster during George W. Bush's presidency and the Washington establishment that still thought America could police the world. Trump's message of a restrained foreign policy and pledge to avoid getting dragged into forever wars especially seemed to resonate as he ran to take back the presidency in 2024—there was no end in sight to the war between Ukraine and Russia, and Israel was committing genocide in Gaza as Bibi Netanyahu walked all over an exhausted, only occasionally lucid Biden. But less than half a year into President Trump's second term and the failure negotiations with Iran, Israel bombed that country's nuclear facilities and assassinated their negotiators and nuclear scientists—and just over a week later, so did Trump when he ordered the dropping of massive "bunker buster" bombs to try to destroy the nuclear facilities Israel could not.In this episode, we once again talk to executive editor of The American Conservative, Curt Mills, a leading voice of the restraint and realism wing on the right, to try to understand the war within MAGA set off by the "Twelve Day War" with Iran. Why did Trump bomb Iran? Who was he listening to, or not, as he made that decision? How did the various factions within the MAGA movement respond, and what is the state of play currently in Trump World? What was Israel's role in all this? And how much longer will Trump tolerate Netanyahu's constant efforts to get the American military to fight in Israel's wars? We take up these questions, and more.Sources:Ian Ward, "The MAGA Split Over Israel," Politico, June 13, 2025Joe Gould, et al, "MAGA Largely Falls in Line on Trump's Iran Strikes," Politico, June 21, 2025Katy Balls, "Trump is Taking Fire Over 'Forever Wars,' but MAGA's Real Battle Awaits," The Times of London, June 22, 2025Jude Russo, "What Next?" Tariff Revenue Surges to Record Levels President Trump's tariff policies are paying off with $26.7 billion collected in June so far. Analysts say this could reduce the U.S. deficit by nearly $3 trillion over the next decade without driving inflation. GE Appliances and Liberty Phone Signal Manufacturing Comeback China-owned GE Appliances will move washing machine production to Kentucky, creating 800 jobs. Meanwhile, debate swirls over whether the Trump family's $500 “Made in USA” phone can actually be built domestically. Liberty Phone shows it's possible—just not fancy. Reshoring Cars Faces Hurdles Ford and GM are reshoring car production, but profits and supply chain challenges remain. Mexico's cheaper labor still makes foreign-made cars more profitable. Tariff clarity from the White House is needed to accelerate change. China Prioritizes Europe for Rare Earth Exports, Snubs U.S. Despite promises, China continues restricting rare earth exports to American companies while increasing shipments to Europe. Trump's team may have struck a new deal earlier this week, but details are unclear. Billionaire-Backed Lawyers Block U.S. Mining Projects Democrat donors like Michael Bloomberg are funding “green fellows” to infiltrate state regulatory boards, slowing or halting traditional mining and energy projects while promoting green energy. Economic Signals: Durable Goods Up, Federal Contractors Down Durable goods orders posted the biggest gain in 11 years. But recurring jobless claims rose and federal contractor hiring is plummeting due to Trump's deep spending cuts. Trump Ends Race-Based Federal Contracts Following a court order, the Trump administration eliminated affirmative action in highway and transit funding. Activist groups object, but the administration says it's enforcing the Constitution. New Deportation Strategy Targets Third Countries Migrants can now be deported to countries that aren't their homeland. Kilmar Abrego Garcia, linked to violent crimes, may be sent to South Sudan.
