This week we are reluctantly opening our third eyes while we discuss “Via Negativa”! We're talking the excess of sleepy FBI agents in this episode, Doggett's Golf Guys dropping like flies and how it's starting to get a little suspicious, Skinner starting drama and Doggett weathering it, how Scully is in the hospital from the stress of being a believer, how much we love how much of a jerk Kersh is, and how after all these years The Lone Gunmen are still Mulder's friends, not Scully's. We get a little jump-scared by Doggett's sad wet eyes, propose a team-up between the table slaw and the chili slide, talk about Skinner prepping for his New Year's party, and how exciting it is that Scully is finally taking some PTO. There's a first time for everything. Also, new tongue twister has just dropped: Agent Angus Stedman in a Stetson.Send us an email at scullynationpod@gmail.com or follow us on Twitter and Instagram!

One of the dangers we face when following Jesus is the danger of drifting off to sleep--spiritually speaking. We might be able to coast along for awhile without much thought, until disaster strikes out of seemingly nowhere. Peter wrote a letter from jail to people he loved so much because he wanted them to wake up. And not just by his own words, but by all the words that God spoke. We have access to those words too. And they hold the key to waking us up from our spiritual drowsiness.
In this episode, Bryan and Kristen share tips for avoiding drowsiness during the day, explain a little about how caffeine works, and talk about cold showers. The Lord Talks about Drowsiness and its Impacts On Our Spiritual Life Be careful that your hearts do not become drowsy. This is an interesting expression the Lord utilizes within the Gospel. Think about . . . what it is to feel drowsy. Not to be asleep, but want to sleep. Don't let your hearts become drowsy. That does not mean . . . it is different than saying . . . sluggish, or indifferent. What does it mean? Hear more within the Homily. Don't let high energy living cause your heart to be drowsy. We all, perhaps, have experienced this at one time or another. High energy . . . then we crash. The Lord says don't let it impact your heart. Jesus then continues and talks about . . . the anxiety of daily living. The Lord is talking about anxiety and our daily spiritual living. Anxiety zaps our energy. It then becomes hard to pray and hard to rest in peace. Often, we have sleepless nights. We are awake. Yet the next day are energy becomes zapped. Understand what the Lord is telling us as we enter Advent. Advent, a time in which we Prepare for His Coming! Listen to this Meditation Media.

Chap. 217 - The Blessing of Work Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Proverbs 6:6. {OHC 223.1} God placed our first parents in Paradise, surrounding them with all that was useful and lovely. In their Eden home nothing was wanting that could minister to their comfort and happiness. And to Adam was given the work of caring for the Garden. The Creator knew that Adam could not be happy without employment. The beauty of the Garden delighted him, but this was not enough. He must have labor to call into exercise the wonderful organs of the body. Had happiness consisted in doing nothing, man, in his state of holy innocence, would have been left unemployed. But He who created man knew what would be for his happiness; and no sooner had He created him, than He gave him his appointed work. The promise of future glory, and the decree that man must toil for his daily bread, came from the same throne. . . . {OHC 223.2} When the body is inactive, the blood flows sluggishly, and the muscles decrease in size and strength. . . . Physical exercise, and a free use of air and sunlight--blessings which heaven has abundantly bestowed on all--would give life and strength to many an emaciated invalid. . . . Work is a blessing, not a curse. Diligent labor keeps many, young and old, from the snares of him who "finds some mischief still for idle hands to do." Let no one be ashamed of work, for honest toil is ennobling. While the hands are engaged in the most common tasks, the mind may be filled with high and holy thoughts. {OHC 223.3} Drowsiness and indolence destroy godliness, and grieve the Spirit of God. A stagnant pool is offensive; but a pure, flowing stream spreads health and gladness over the land. No man or woman who is converted can be anything but a worker. There certainly is and ever will be employment in heaven. The redeemed will not live in a state of dreamy idleness. There remaineth a rest for the people of God--a rest which they will find in serving Him to whom they owe all they have and are. {OHC 223.4} --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/tawasv/message

Benzodiazepine use in the elderly is associated with an increased risk of falls, broken hips and legs, and car accidents. Long-term benzodiazepine use also increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease and dementia. Because they're physically addicting and on their own and dangerous when combined with alcohol and other drugs, anyone with a current or former substance abuse problem should use benzodiazepines only with extreme caution. Many medications originally approved for the treatment of depression are also prescribed for anxiety. In comparison to benzodiazepines, the risk for dependency and abuse is smaller.https://drug-rehab-delray-beach.s3.amazonaws.com/ttc.htmlhttps://ttc-addiction-treatment.business.site/https://batchgeo.com/map/681ecafc169a47b7124bbe82fd1e775fhttps://batchgeo.com/map/7274655833ed942b86e23474567769e6https://goo.gl/maps/dA6jRU8YWSA8thNx9https://goo.gl/maps/pGMDMCNMaeWNGrf68https://goo.gl/maps/ADS5psviWY3827xKAhttps://t.co/OXp8BtmZjl#south-florida-anxiety-treatmenthttps://t.co/gfQsdILG4t#mental-health-delrayhttps://t.co/cpI9wKU45s#anxiety-mental-healthhttps://earth.google.com/web/data=Mj8KPQo7CiExeW1vQ0d2YkUxcFVFMFR6WFFaRnd6RHNRWVF1YWlhU1USFgoUMERGMzA4MjZFNzE4RUM3MjAxMDEHowever, antidepressants take up to 4 to 6 weeks to begin relieving anxiety symptoms, so they can't be taken “as needed.” Their use is limited to chronic anxiety problems that require ongoing treatment.SSRIs have been used to treat generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Common side effects of SSRIs include:Fatigue, Nausea, Agitation, Drowsiness, Weight gain, Diarrhea, Insomnia, Sexual dysfunction, Nervousness, Headaches, Dry mouth, Increased sweating. Although physical dependence is not as quick to develop with antidepressants, withdrawal can still be an issue. Today I chatted with Kevin from Debt Free Happens, who just happened to find himself in Orlando for FinCon. As the good Disney opportunist would, he jumped at that chance and planned ONE day to visit all four parks. So many conventions and sports competitions are hosted in Orlando, and it's not always possible to combine those with a full Disney vacation. This doesn't mean you can't take advantage of the flight and proximity and sneak away to the parks...even if it's just for one day! Kevin also has a lot of really great budgeting tips from his day at Walt Disney World to share, so you are sure to find gold here to help you plan your next Disney vacation. The Plan: Four Disney Parks in One Day Trip Planning Details Resort: Rosen Shingle Creek First time to Walt Disney World? Yes for both Kevin and his wife, Erin Memory Maker: No (Decision was based on prioritizing time on rides.) Planning tools: Purchasing tickets - Disney's site; Disney Food Blog (specifically YouTube videos); Unlocking the Magic podcast Tickets: One day Park Hopper + Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party ticket Planning tips: Whoever's best with maps in your party, have them study each park intensely and learn where the rides are so that you're not sitting there trying to figure it out when you're at any of these parks. The Tuesday before they went, they watched the wait times during the day on My Disney Experience. This gave an idea of what to expect on a Tuesday. The key is you can't watch a Saturday and prepare for a Tuesday. If you purchase anything and are staying on property, have your packages sent to your resort! This is completely complimentary. If you are staying off property, you can have them sent to the front of the park at no charge (or sent home for an additional fee) which is super helpful when you are trying to dash through all four parks in one day. Tips for packing your park bag for Disney World Kevin's tip for bringing bags to Disney World is that first of all, you absolutely need one, and second, avoid a bigger backpack (he recommends a smaller drawstring backpack). They actually brought two and made sure one was waterproof, which was less than $10 on Amazon. The additional benefit of having a small drawstring bag is they easily fit in the pouches in ride vehicles. This actually makes boarding and departing much quicker! What to pack: Ponchos - Kevin feels strongly about stretching your budget and not purchasing the more expensive version Disney offers. Dramamine Sunblock Hats (make sure to take them off for fast rides!) Snacks Extra socks Ziploc baggies How packing Dramamine saved the day First of all, there are three different products. There's the original Dramamine, which everyone talks about, but that makes you sleepy. Drowsiness is not an option if you are fitting all four parks into one day! So there's a less drowsy version, which you can take one to two per 24 hours. There's also a non-drowsy version which is basically just concentrated ginger tablets and you can take four of those per 24 hours. Although Kevin mixed those, we are not medical professionals, so you probably want to consult your physician. We are just sharing what worked for Kevin. He also wore Sea-Bands on each wrist. Although these tools made a massive difference in how motion-sickness affected his day, he still had to monitor how he was feeling and make adjustments to the sequence of rides to make sure he didn't get too sick. Simulations, It's a Small World, and Spaceship Earth were actually the worst. The Itinerary Because this was a party day, purchasing a party ticket allowed them to start the day at rope-drop and end at the close of the party (midnight). First park: Animal Kingdom Even though the park's posted opening was 9:00 am, they ended up opening up at 8:00 am for everyone headed to Pandora (either Navi River Journey or Flight of Passage). The Cast Members slowly walk you back to Pandora. This strategy was a huge success - Kevin and Erin were OFF of Flight of Passage at 8:55 am. They were able to do the most popular ride in the park before the park even opened (and without FastPasses!) Their next ride was Kilimanjaro Safaris because the animals are out more in the morning (or maybe late in the day). FastPasses: Expedition Everest Dinosaur Navi River Journey First meal of the day: Satu'li Canteen based on the recommendation from The Disney Food Blog. Second park: Hollywood Studios Transportation: Bus from Animal Kingdom to Hollywood Studios (arrival at 1:30 pm) Third park: Epcot Transportation: Because they were told a bus would be a 20-minute ride, Kevin opted to walk. Due to the construction and the heat, Kevin actually found this walk quite challenging and was one of two regrets of the day. The walk ended up taking 40 minutes (arrival at 5:15 pm). Fourth park: Magic Kingdom (Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party) Transportation: Monorail - Kevin wanted to point out that he was unaware that in all of his planning, he did not know that the monorail does not take you directly from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom. Instead, it drops you off at the Ticket and Transportation Center. At this point, you take another monorail from the ticketing center over to the Magic Kingdom (arrival 7:00 pm). Budgeting tips for Walt Disney World Although the day is quite expensive and unfortunately the cost of the tickets is a significant expense, Kevin and Erin have worked hard to eliminate debt and they certainly were going to keep that mindset in planning their Disney day. He has kindly provided budgeting tips and advice he acquired while planning his Disney trip. Regarding the cost of the tickets, the best advice is to look at the calendar and review peak times and off-peak times. Kevin visited during an off-peak time, so he was able to save a few dollars on tickets. Consider staying off-property, as those resorts and hotels are generally less expensive. Do not go into debt in order to do a Disney vacation. Disney is not going anywhere anytime soon. You're going to have a much more enjoyable time if you're not sitting here worried about whether or not you can make the minimum payment on your credit card when you get home. Disney World, when you pay cash for it, is way more fun than when you're going into debt for it. If you're not staying on property, you don't have to have a Magic Band. Disney gives you a card, don't lose it because that would disrupt your day, so don't feel the need to spend additional dollars for Magic Bands for each person in your party. That will really add up! Drink the free water! It's available at any Quick Service or cart with fountain beverages in the parks and resorts. You can bring a refillable water bottle if you would like to, just stay hydrated. Bring snacks. Consider not eating breakfast at the resort. If you're staying at an offsite hotel and they have a continental breakfast, of course, take advantage of that. If not, bring a box of cereal or have groceries shipped to your resort (we recommend Shipt or Amazon Prime Now). By eliminating one meal a day, you're going to save a ton of money. Breakfast alone can save hundreds of dollars depending on the size of your family, and you can take it one step further by getting some bread and making peanut butter and jelly and having those for lunch. Ponchos - Kevin's wife bought theirs at Walmart for $.97 each. They brought four ponchos: two for Kali River Rapids and two if they were to get caught in the rain during the day. Try to skip the gift shops at the ride exists and buy souvenirs at Disney outlets instead. Pack your park bag at home, then you are less likely to forget something. If you pack it and home and realize you are not checking sunscreen off your list, for example, it will be much less expensive to buy it at home as opposed to the parks! Uber or Lyft? Uber Lyft Minnie Vans (operated by Lyft) - photo courtesy of Disney Parks Blog[/caption] Kevin's Favorite Park Oh Man, I don't know, you know, our Epcot experience was stunted...So each one is so unique. I guess I would say we had the least amount of expectations for Hollywood Studios and that was the biggest surprise. More about Kevin and Debt Free Happens Debt Free Happens was created to share Kevin and Erin's experience of paying off over $107,000 of debt in less than three years. And don't think they made $200,000 a year to accomplish that massive goal. They actually made $83,000 combined in the beginning and then $170,000 in the end (two incomes combined). What you will like best about Debt Free Happens is that Kevin is open and honest with the mistakes that they've made in the past because they truly want to get you headed in the right direction. Their goal is to help you find a financially independent life and not let the fear of your debt paralyze you. Just never underestimate what you're able to do in your life, what you're able to do for yourself what you're able to do for others, you know, despite whatever happened in the past. Do know that there's always an opportunity to be able to make changes and to go forward and live that life that you really want to. You can find Kevin at Debt Free Happens, on Twitter, and on Facebook. **Report the Magic is not affiliated with Debt Free Happens**

Can’t sleep? Find yourself overly tired? Middle of the night anxiety is something I’ve struggled with often. Whenever I feel the weight of my problems pressing down on my shoulders, I find myself struggling to sleep. Unfortunately, this pattern if left unchecked, can down the road lead to significant health problems. So how do you solve midnight insomnia? The answer is not as complicated as it might seem. Also on the show, I discuss a troubling trend among Evangelicals that is leaving believers paralyzed in their faith. In this episode I discuss the rampant, undiagnosed, malnutrition that permeates our society and some of the common ailments that people perceive as “normal” but that are actually red flags for poor digestion, poor diet, and malnutrition. These symptoms are usually the result of years, decades even, of malnutrition- the body’s stores of certain nutrients exhausted, it can no longer function optimally and begins to fail. Some of the red flags: • Adrenal exhaustion and insufficiency • Adult acne • Allergies to foods • Anemia, pernicious • Appetite, excessive • Asthma • Atherosclerosis • Autoimmune diseases • B12 Deficiency • B6 Deficiency • Bacterial Dysbiosis • Broken capillaries • Calcium deficiency leading to insomnia, cramps, nervousness • Chronic infections • Chronic weakness • Conjunctivitis • Constipation (with liver/gallbladder involvement) • Delayed gastric emptying (food feels like it’s just sitting there in your stomach for hours) • Diabetes • Diarrhea (with inflammatory bowel disease) or chronic diarrhea • Dizziness • Drowsiness after meals • Dysbiosis (bowel flora is out of balance) • Eczema, psoriasis or the history of eczema • Emaciation (a protein deficiency) • Environmental Chemical Sensitivities • Feeling too full • Flatulence in general • Food cravings for sour foods • Hair dry and brittle (nails too) • Hair falling out • Halitosis • Heartburn/GERD/Acid reflux • Immunity decreased • Intestinal damage • Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) • Leaky gut • Loss of taste for meats • Malabsorption/maldigestion • Meal related bloating or burping • Mucoid Colitis • Nails, thin/weak or dry and brittle • Obesity • Offensive smelling stool • Pallor • Pimples turning into boils (can also indicate low exocrine pancreas function) • Poor memory • Poor muscle tone • Rheumatoid Arthritis • Swollen tongue • Thyroid problems • Ulcer like pains • Vision disturbances • Vitamins B3 (Niacin) deficiency—also called Pellagra • White spots on nails • Yeast/Candida Digestion (food selection and diet is a whole different but related topic that we aren’t covering in this episode) starts in the mouth. In the mouth: · Chewing the food to liquification allows the sensors in your mouth to send signals to the brain telling it what types of nutrients you have consumed and how much. The brain uses this information to tell your stomach and intestine, pancreas, gallbladder, and so on, what enzymes to secrete and how much to secrete to prepare the food for absorption. · Insufficient chewing short circuits this brain pathway- leading to insufficient secretions of stomach acid and enzymes. · Insufficient chewing also leads us to drink liquids (particularly cold liquids) with the meal thereby diluting the action of acid and enzymes on food. · Cold foods and liquids must be warmed by the body (stomach) before they can pass to the intestine- this leads to fermentation of the foods creating organic gasses that burn the valve at the top of the stomach and if it happens often enough, weakens the valve and burns the esophageal lining (GERD). · Minerals need a very low pH (strong acidic environment) to properly break down so that they can be absorbed and used by the body. Insufficient levels of stomach acid can lead to minerals being absorbed into the blood stream but not being sufficiently activated, they remain in the bloodstream and are eventually excreted rather than being incorporated into the bones, teeth, and tissues. · Sufficient stomach acid kills bacteria, viruses, yeasts, molds, candida, and parasites before they get far. Insufficient stomach acid allows them to live and gives them access to the lower gut and body interior. Many autoimmune issues result from a cascade of issues following chronic insufficient stomach acid. · Tums, Rolaids, and proton pump inhibitors like Protonix, and other PPIs actually suppress or absorb the stomach acid- severely impacting digestion negatively and perpetuating an already pressing problem. · To test whether or not you are sensitive to HCl (and for the presence of ulcers) take the HCl Sensitivity Test HERE. · For those who FAIL the HCl Sensitivity test, shoot me an email (manny@therolfworkshop.com) and I will make recommendations to resolve the issue. · For those who PASS the HCl Sensitivity test, shoot me an email and I will send you the follow up test: The Zypan Test for optimal digestion. · To order Zypan (free shipping from me) in either 90Tablet or 330Tablet size- call my concierge at (949) 954-6225. · All other questions- email me directly at manny@therolfworkshop.comdi
