Nathan Mayer Rothschild, was an English-German banker, businessman and financier. His intention in this life was to explore freedom and oppression. In this conversation, he explains that there are 3 ways to live life - 2 that are full of the 'good stuff' and the other is the way most people live, which is a small life. He talks about how we plan our lives from the nonphysical before we're born and how that actually works. He explains why gold has always been used for currency. He tells us that Earth is a place of experimentation where many different species are brought together. He even talks about the creation of Atlantis. Tom Weber was diagnosed as an adult with autism. We discuss his story, the resources available for people with autism in Luxembourg — along with information for the caregivers who support loved ones with autism. My guests this week are: - Tom Weber, English - German translator, and published author - Sabine Angelsen, Director CTSA, Centre pour enfants et jeunes présentant un trouble du spectre de l'autisme - Anne Wagner, CTSA - psychologist - Nathalie Oberweis, Head of Learning & Development - Autism Luxembourg - Aleks Panzone, co-founder of T'ees Iced Tea Tom Weber, a colleague at RTL Today, catalysed the topic of autism for this show by writing about it himself when diagnosed as an adult aged 27. Through Tom's awareness-raising of neurodiversity we explore what autism is, how it can present, and what help is available to caregivers and autistic people themselves in Luxembourg. Tom eloquently describes his own personal story, the constant effort of masking, the dark periods and the changes to one's self-perception when diagnosed late. Tom Weber is an English-German translator and this lifestyle fits his requirements for a professional life very well, whilst also giving him time to pursue his own writing of prose and poetry. Tom is a published author and won first prize at the National Literary Competition in 2020. Autism is a very broad spectrum of neurodiverse traits and is more common than we may think, says Anne Wagner, CTSA - psychologist. And yet, over diagnosis can be an issue since there are frequent co-morbidities that accompany autistic people (aggression, ADHD, anxiety, depression, psychosis, for instance). There is a heightened rate of suicide amongst autistic people and a higher rate of divorce for the care-givers. Tom describes the pain of not being able to connect with people and how that can lead to deep depression, which could result in suicide if one doesn't have a strong support network. Sabine Angelsen and Anne Wagner work with children and their families at the Centre pour enfants et jeunes présentant un trouble du spectre de l'autisme (CTSA). They see children at the point at which some form of issue has presented, but many children find ways to mask their difficulties in social settings. Nathalie Oberweis, Head of Learning & Development at Autism Luxembourg, helps people to develop skills in a safe environment through their various workshops. They provide vocational training, education, and even a day-centre in Sandweiler. They also have some home-help services and a limited number of accommodation facilities. The workplace can be quite traumatic for an autistic person. We discuss what measures an employer could put in place to help this type of mind. It is often hard to ‘see' neurodiverse issues; they can be thought of as ‘invisible handicaps'. Aleks Panzone is just 23 years old and is the co-founder of T'ees Iced Tea. This (delicious) iced tea is produced by people with Autism in Luxembourg, aiming to raise awareness and supporting them by offering a safe working environment and decent wage. It is only made with local and natural ingredients; no added sugar and no artificial flavours. Aleks is helping people with autism live as fully integrated members of society. https://just-thoughts.net/about/#:~:text=Tom%20Weber%20was%20born%20in,publishes%20books%2C%20mostly%20poetry%20collections. www.autisme.lu https://cc-ctsa.lu/ https://plantatea.com/ https://just-thoughts.net/2023/12/07/the-stranger-behind-my-eyes-27-years-undiagnosed-autistic/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/teesicetea/ LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/company/t-ees/?viewAsMember=true

Rory is joined by English-German author and journalist Kit Holden to talk about one of Germany's most interesting clubs: 1. FC Union Berlin! From their growth under the DDR to playing in the Champions League, Union Berlin have a phenomenal story and a unique fanbase. The circumstances of their existence, growth and identity make them one of the most interesting clubs to discuss from a heritage perspective, and as they become established in the Bundesliga, they continue to ride a fine balance between staying true to their roots and selling out completely. Rory and Kit discuss the history of Union Berlin and the issues, events and conditions which led to their label as a 'rebel club', the identities of the fans and their role in the club and how Union traversed the oppression of East Germany to navigating modern capitalist football. Kit is the author of 'Scheisse! We're Going Up!', a book which documented the rise of Union Berlin and the crossroads they found themselves at at the time of writing. He has covered football for Der Tagesspiegel and AFP, and he has also written for The Athletic, Guardian and Die Zeit. His second book 'Played in Germany' is set for release in June 2024.

ENGLISH (German below) In this episode of the Digital Insurance Podcast, I talk to Asher Jay, CEO and Founder of IncOperate. What opportunities and risks does artificial intelligence bring to the insurance world? Asher Jay sees the greatest opportunities in making processes more cost-efficient, more accurate and faster. The end result is a gain in productivity. Unfortunately, full digitalisation is still a long way off in the insurance industry. In the past, some trends were missed, she says. Things like OCR or AI-supported programmes for fraud detection, on the other hand, are already being used today. I think the fear of AI is largely unfounded. Automation has been creating false fears in the labour market since the 1920s. In the end, it has always led to a change in the world of work - like the creation of new jobs. The same will be the case this time. My prediction: In 20 years, most companies will have an AI division, just as they have an IT department today. Links in this issue To the homepage of Jonas Piela To the LinkedIn profile of Jonas Piela To the LinkedIn profile of Asher Jay GERMAN In dieser Folge des Digital Insurance Podcast spreche ich mit Asher Jay, CEO und Founder von IncOperate. He is a past winner of the Grawemeyer Award in Psychology, and the William James and James McKeen Cattell Awards of the Association for Psychological Science. Sternberg has served as President of the American Psychological Association, and the Federation of Associations in Behavioral and Brain Sciences. His latest book is Adaptive Intelligence: Surviving and Thriving in Times of Uncertainty.“A lot of kids' parents are wealthy who can afford to give them the kind of upbringing that will propel them in the direction of prestigious universities, but often the main thing they care about is that their life will be good and not that they'll make the world better, not only for others in their generation but for their own kids. So what we need to be developing is not people's ability to solve cosign problems or remember obscure words, but how do you deal with a world that is falling apart and in which people are suffering and their ability to handle those problems is poor. I think in part because their education system is so grossly inadequate and tied to this sort of academic notion of memorizing a bunch of books, and you get an A, and you get your degree. And that's not what the world needs now. I think that's pretty clear. You could memorize an English-German dictionary. It doesn't mean you could speak German or English. You could memorize the psychology textbook. It doesn't mean you can apply psychology to the world. A: My view is that it depends on how much you understand your client. For me, I take a discussion with the client who takes social listening services from me to know more about their business. Even if the clients don't take our social listening service, our agency researches their businesses before our project pitching to them. I will show you a sample research file for a client from Berlin. Our clients are German and what's funny is we can't even speak English fluently. We had to read more research papers about them. Since our client's business is fine dining, we have to research the data of people who use social media in Germany about fine-dining preferences and brand quality of fine dining. After that, we learn about the data of luxury customers and potential marketing size. And we develop a social marketing strategy. So our process is we research our client first and then set a strategic plan, no matter how big or small the client. Once we develop a marketing strategy, we come up with a content plan. And I would suggest you go with that procedure. That is the procedure I have been using at Level Up. So the key is learning your clients better. And please pay attention to what I mentioned earlier: the social listening report. I usually restudy the report files of my old clients from the last seven months again because the client's behavior may change within seven months. So read the social listening report first and then draw a content house. Then add content markets to the content house. I think it will be effective if you follow that process.

Fay Walsh Gopal is an English-German stand-up comic, kind of accidentally born in Berlin, where she now lives again, after some moving around with her family. Fay talks about a bit which she played very recently at the Berlin show Laughing Spree. In the bit she tackles the fact that, over time, she got asked quite frequently whether she is a man or a woman. While it could be considered conceivable that the question is asked with no malicious intentions (e.g. when asked by a former classmate of Fay's), the message it entails and the effect it has are fully different. However, Fay finds a way to bring all this together in just under a minute. Apart from that we talk about conveying experiences as a comic onstage. How can a comic's set give the audience an insight into a whole different world? And what's the deal of building a joke with various layers? >>> Fay's Instagram profile >>> Fay on the podcast Erich on the World You can support Setup/Punchline - thank you very much! — Wanda Pratnicka's book Possessed By Ghosts describes an unacknowledged problem with which the majority of mankind is struggling, namely possession by ghosts. Ghosts are the souls of people who have died but who have not resolved to pass through to the other side of death's curtain. By remaining among the living they are the cause of anxiety, depressions, mood swings, explosive negative emotions, mental illnesses and often also physical illnesses. Pratnicka is a unique healer in that she marries a formal education and philosophy; she earned her PhD in Philosophy, an M.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Parapsychology; with a natural and innate ability that manifested itself when she was a mere child. She is an author of several books that have been translated into various languages. Valeria Teles interviews Mike Pratnicka. Mike is the co-founder of The Dr. Wanda Pratnicka Center. He gained a tremendous amount of spiritual insight about spirit attachment removal under Wanda's mentorship. Today, he performs the removals using Wanda's method. Thanks to Michael's ability to speak English and German, he handles all media inquiries, lectures and events in English & German languages. Wanda Pratnicka, PhD. - internationally recognized leader in esoteric science and a leading voice in spirit attachment phenomenon. She dealt with tens of thousands of people around the world who have suffered from emotional/mental disturbances and physical illnesses that were considered to be incurable. Wanda's unique ability is that she is able to diagnose and remove spirit entities, aka ghosts, from people remotely; no matter where a person is located. Wanda is also the author of the book series In the Wheel of Life Volumes 1-3. Her most recent book is Know the Truth and Be Free. The Term "Zettelkasten" Does Not Mean What You Think It DoesFROM:Scott P. ScheperDowntown San Diego, CATO:You (If this page I wrote About You is true).START TIME:Wednesday, 10:13 pmDear Friend,OK, where did we leave off?Oh, yes, I needed to tell you about a glaring issue in Niklas Luhmann's paper on the Zettelkasten. It's not an issue with Luhmann's writing, but his paper's most popular English translation.OK, so why are we even discussing a translation error?Trust me. I wouldn't be writing about this unless it was necessary. However, the translation error concerns the most important word. The word is... Zettel!Yes, there's an issue with how Zettel is translated into the American English version of the paper.See, the term zettel was translated to the English word "slip." This translation is a type of error known as a * "faux ami."* Assuming you're not a linguistic nerd (like I secretly yearn to be), you probably aren't familiar with that term. Or perhaps you are, and regardless you could probably guess. A faux ami is when a word of similar form but the dissimilar meaning is paired.[1]In the most popular translation of Luhmann's paper, "slip" falls into such a category. This translation is certainly not a member of the faux ami hall of fame. However, it's less fitting than the translation I will introduce soon. But before I do, I want you to understand even why it was translated to "slip" in the first place. The reason "slip" is sometimes translated from "zettel" is because some translation dictionaries include multiple entries. And older entries for zettel define it as a "slip of paper." One such English-German dictionary consists of this entry.[2] However, "slip of paper" doesn't appear to be the preferred entry (or main entry). The most widely used translation source, and arguably the best among all,[3] does not hold "slip" as the correct translation for zettel.[4] This source prefers the term "note" as the translation for zettel.Great, but we're only getting started. We ain't done yet. No, Sah!Although * "note"* is more fitting than "slip," it is not perfect. The reason centers on the original definition of "zettel." Recall, the definition was a "slip of paper,"; not its slang usage of "slip."[2:1] Hence, the appropriate translation wouldn't necessarily be "note" because it's too broad. A "note" could be anything——even a metaphorical thing, like "I'm making a mental note of how much of a linguistic nerd Scott is." A "slip of paper" isn't used in such a way. You can't say, "I'm making a slip of paper of how much of a linguistic genius Scott is." Therefore, it's not a perfect translation.Yet, a "note of paper" doesn't work perfectly either. It's a mouthful. "Zettel" is a single concise word. In the context Luhmann was using it, the purest definition is "slip of paper." We need to find an English translation for such a concept——without it being a mouthful! If we look into the etymology of "zettel," we find something odd. The term traces back to the same root of the English word, schedule.[5]. Yes, I know, schedule?! That's not a promising start. Quite the predicament, eh?Listen for full thing.

The identification of bots is an important and complicated task. The bot classifier Botometer was successfully introduced as a way to estimate the number of bots in a given list of accounts and has been frequently used in academic publications. Given its relevance for academic research, and our understanding of the presence of automated accounts in any given Twitter discourse, Adrian Rauchfleisch and Jonas Kaiser studied Botometer's diagnostic ability over time. To do so, Rauchfleisch and Kaiser collected the Botometer scores for five datasets in two languages (English/German) over three months. For this virtual event, Rauchfleisch and Kaiser discussed their findings and answered questions about the implications of their research.

Works for chamber orchestra and voice performed by Rebel with tenor Rufus Mueller on November 10, 2013, and work for string quartet performed by Musicians from Marlboro on March 25, 2012.Handel (three works): Overture to Agrippina in G Minor HWV 6: Total Eclipse; Your Charms to Ruin: Tune Your Harps; His Mighty ArmHaydn: String Quartet No. 43 in G Major, Op. 54, No. 1Ask a New Yorker what H&H means, and they’re likely to tell you about bagels. But ask a classically inclined Bostonian the same question, and chances are they’ll have a more musical answer: Handel and Haydn, the namesakes of one of our local Baroque orchestras. On today’s program, we’ve got both H’s: vocal music by Handel, and a string quartet by Haydn. We begin, fittingly, with an overture: Handel’s overture to his opera Agrippina, performed—as are all of our Handel selections on this podcast—by the Baroque orchestra Rebel. Then, they’ll be joined by the English-German tenor Rufus Mueller for a series of arias from Handel Oratorios, including Samson, Esther, and Jeptha. Then, our second “H”: Haydn’s string quartet No. 43 in G Major, the composer’s Op. 54, No. 1. This piece is almost as much of a solo vehicle as the oratorio arias that come before it. The quartet was written by Haydn for the violinist Johann Tost, and there is a definite emphasis throughout on the first violinist. We’ll hear a performance by Musicians from Marlboro. But first, the Handel.
