Are you questioning the sustainability of leadership practices in your organization? How might centering the experiences and perspectives of women of color transform leadership in the social sector? What would it look like if funders truly listened to what nonprofit organizations need and responded accordingly? In this powerful episode, Rusty speaks with Safi Jiroh, Executive Director of LeaderSpring Center, to answer some of these questions. This episode delves into LeaderSpring's evolution from supporting only executive directors to creating a fellowship for women of color leaders at all levels in nonprofits. Safi discusses how the organization redesigned its curriculum to address systemic barriers and promote liberatory leadership practices while challenging unsustainable expectations in the nonprofit sector.Safi offers profound insights on what women of color bring to leadership roles, including community, empathy, lived experience, love, resilience, intuition, and truth-telling as primary contributions. The discussion tackles the current political climate where diversity, equity, and inclusion work is under attack, with Safi emphasizing the need to "fight to dream" and "fight to innovate" despite opposition. She challenges philanthropy to examine practices that create "bondage for nonprofit organizations" and to demonstrate the will to change by releasing control and embracing vulnerability. You can find all the episodes of this podcast plus our blog, toolkit and other resources at fundthepeople.org. Welcome to the Personal Development Trailblazers Podcast! In this episode, we'll dive into simple, actionable tips to help you reduce overwhelm, clear your mind, and find calm in the midst of the chaos. Olivia Rose, MA is a certified Integral Coach and the founder of the RblX Coaching Method, where she helps people not only define but live their version of success. Drawing from her background in Educational Psychology, Olivia has spent her career working with people of all ages to overcome adversity and live their best life.  Though she appeared successful on the outside, Olivia spent over two decades navigating mental health challenges that never quite felt fully resolved. Diagnosed at various times with depression, generalized anxiety, and bipolar disorder, she found that while these labels provided a framework to begin living a healthier life, they didn't explain everything. It wasn't until she noticed a profound connection with her ADHD clients that she uncovered a deeper truth. Olivia realized she wasn't just understanding them on a professional level—she was seeing herself reflected back. That discovery of her own neurodivergence was a pivotal moment. It reshaped the way Olivia understood her own journey. It helped to explain how she moves through the world, and what strategies, habits, and practices could help her life more fully and successfully. And now she uses this very same method for others to do the same. Through the RblX method, clients find new empowerment to embrace who they truly are, honor their uniqueness, and create a life of aligned and authentic success. I had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Matthew Sloane, an artist, writer, and father whose journey from emotional disconnection to self-awareness is both touching and inspiring. We explored Matthew's childhood experiences of loneliness and bullying, his artistic pursuits, and his transformative path through men's work and relationships. Matthew shared candidly about his struggles with perfectionism, putting women on pedestals, and learning to integrate different aspects of himself. His story of creating "The Hiding Inside a Man," a book blending illustrations and personal insights, resonated deeply with me. We delved into the healing power of men's groups, the importance of playfulness in personal growth, and the ongoing practice of maintaining a healthy marriage while navigating parenthood. Matthew's reflections on fatherhood and his mission to give voice to men's inner worlds left me pondering the vital role of creative expression in our journey towards authenticity and connection.Bio:Matthew Sloane, a devoted father and husband for over a decade, brings a wealth of experience as an Integral Coach from New Ventures West. Join us on The Coaching Podcast with our guest coach, Adam Klein, as we unpack essential topics like the "Leader as Coach," the journey of living your vocation, and navigating resistance to unlock team cohesion and inspiration. Discover how integral coaching invites individuals to embrace their full selves—mind, body, and spirit—and how coaches can empower their team members to take responsibility, commit to each other, and work more efficiently together. We'll delve into the art of attunement and response in effective coaching. From practical tips on supporting shy or introverted clients to insights on the mind-body connection and strategies for handling resistance, this episode is packed with valuable knowledge for both new and experienced coaches. Check out the highlights; 1.08: Text or Call? 2.13: What is integral coaching? It is an invitation for someone to discover and lean into their vocation/purpose! To include all of yourself, your thinking world, your feeling world, and your sensing world. 3.13: What can a coach do if their team members are bringing "all" of their problems to work? It is important to have the person consider: How can you step into more responsibility? More ownership when you show up as your true self? More self-leadership? How can you support the team? Working together more efficiently? 5.04: How did you become a coach? 7.15: How can people uncover their vocation? Acknowledge that that voice is there and then listen to your inner voice. 9.19: What makes a great coach? Attunement (to self and others) - listening beyond the words Response (to your client in a way that is helpful) 13.11: How to coach a person who is shy, reserved, or introverted? Shift the physical dynamics, environment, or space to create new insights 16.09: What are your thoughts on the mind and body connection? Relax into the discomfort, breathe into the pain (stop trying to PUSH THROUGH it) PAUSE, take a breath, and let's "see what happens", take one more step! Remember WHY am I doing this? What's my commitment? 18.18: How can you help coaches who are experiencing resistance? "What is the resistance teaching me?" "How do I befriend resistance?" 20.28: Do you think that this next generation is internally motivated? Yes! People want it but don't necessarily know how to access it. The missing piece is commitment! 22.09: How can you help a team be more cohesive? It comes back to being aligned with the team's commitment! 23.29: What's your purpose? "letting go of everything that is not love and becoming all flame bringing healing and light to others!" 24.01: What disruptive coaching idea do you have that will change the way we coach in 2030? Coaching is for people who can listen holistically and respond generatively! 25.22: Do you think anyone can become a coach? 26.14: What do you mean by 'Leader as Coach?' "Being the wind under the wing." 27.54: New Venture West Coach Training has three main tracks: 1) Personal cultivation: A coach's way of being - how does the coach show up? (the coach is the soil and you have to cultivate the soil) 2) Learning competencies and skillful coaching: Coaching skills (plant the seeds of coaching skills such as listening, and making requests) 3) Learning within a community: Dual track is practiced within a cohort so that you can all learn from each other 30.02: Three top tips on how coaches can respond generatively. 1) Attunement: Who is this person now? (Not, who do we think they are!) 2) Notice our skillfulness (What's my own range in being able to respond?) 3) Who am I learning from? Flowing East and West: The Perfectly Imperfect Journey to a Fulfilled Life

If you believed anything was possible, what would you do?  Tony Lillios comes from an immigrant family that somehow made things happen…whole family pitching in to start a small business on a greek island?  No problem.  Squishing 10 family members into a station wagon, along with bikes and all the necessities for a week at the beach?  A little duct tape and rope, and they were off for their holiday adventure.  As an adult, this translated into Tony's work and personal worlds, starting several businesses, completing 12+ IronMans, and and recently climbing in Bhutan with a world famous entrepreneur. However, even for someone who sees limitless possibilities, there are moments when Tony finds himself conforming and feeling smaller than he truly is. It is a growth edge for him, and there are valuable lessons for all of us to learn from his experiences.  Listen in to hear Tony's perfectly imperfect journey.     Bio Tony Lillios is a serial entrepreneur, Integral Coach, TEDx speaker, film producer, and triathlete that has also co-founded Speck Design and Speck Products. Chances are, if you owned a phone between 2008 and 2014, you owned a Speck Products case. Tony and his partners sold the company to Samsonite in 2014 for a reported 85 million dollars and that's when he turned his attention to personal and professional coaching. Today, Tony coaches others by developing an ongoing set of practices that allow them to develop new skills, capacities, and awareness. This system of integral coaching puts you on your path to sustainable transformation. Tony's unique integral approach comes from a blend of his training through New Ventures West, Stagen's Integral Leadership Program, and self-discovery.

Walt Morgan: Transformational Leadership Coach: Since I was five, I wanted to fly helicopters. So I did. I was in the U.S. Navy for 23 years as a designated helicopter pilot. Before I retired from the Navy, I had assumed that I would fly for the rest of my life (helicopters or other) - it was my passion and it was what I was trained to do. But I felt a nudge from the universe; a new calling. It happens that in my last four years in the Navy, I was assigned as a professor teaching leadership at the University of Colorado. I became fascinated with leadership and learned how much I had to learn. Through that work, I realized that I felt called to serve others in their personal leadership journeys. So when I retired, I decided to leave aviation in my past and work in leadership development. First, in the corporate setting as an in-house facilitator, and then as an independent coach. For me, the journey since retirement has been characterized by powerful emotional, spiritual, somatic, and cognitive growth. I feel so fortunate to be able to serve others in their personal leadership journeys!  Walt Morgan is a professional Integral Coach who partners with clients from all walks of life to achieve the personal and professional developmental goals that are most important to them. .      https://tliftcoaching.com/  https://linkedin.com/in/walt-morgan

On today's show, we interview entrepreneur, designer, endurance athlete, and certified Integral Coach, Tony Lillios who shares with us his incredible life story, his many tribulations, and successes. Tony started his professional career as a consultant with IDEO. But then the desire to “do more” kicked in. And back in 1996, Tony founded Speck Design and then Speck Products. Speck Products designed and manufactured cases for laptops and phones. And they were the first manufacturer to bring hard cases to the market. Speck rode the early wave of success but then the business got harder. And they plateaued once sales hit $150 million. Reading the market conditions, Tony and his partners sold out to Samsonite – a larger organization that had the resources and the distribution network to continue scaling the business. Today, as an Integral Coach, Tony works with individuals and small teams looking to unlock more possibilities when feeling stuck. His most productive relationships are with clients that have tried to address what isn't working or what they aspire towards and have come up short.  Towards the end of the show, we have an interesting discussion on core values – a concept that is still grossly under thought. This is a show that you do not want to miss. Topics include: How Tony started the journey to success in developing his own company What happens when a business starts plateauing, the market becomes harder and more expensive How Tony transitioned from owning his company to starting his integral coaching career Why core values are grossly underthought through And other topics… Connect with Tony: Website: https://www.lillios.com/  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/lillios/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tonylillioscoach/  Connect with Darius: Website: https://therealdarius.com/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dariusmirshahzadeh/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/whoompdarius/ YouTube: https://therealdarius.com/youtube Book: The Core Value Equation https://www.amazon.com/Core-Value-Equation-Framework-Limitless/dp/1544506708 Learn more about your ad choices. Today, I interviewed the founder of Becoming You, Jonathan Hurteau. Jon is an Integral Coach, specializing in breathwork and nervous system training. I couldn't wait to have him on the podcast to share his story and his work with you. As a Sensitive, your nervous system has done incredible things to keep you safe, and to keep the world feeling as safe as possible. But at a certain point, we must work with it to better understand what it's doing and why it's doing it. For example, your friend may have forgotten your coffee appointment today. Your mind knows that, but your nervous system sends you the message - abandonment, abandoned, you don't matter. Now, your cheeks are flushed, and you go home to eat a bar of chocolate to soothe the pain of that message - no matter how untrue it is. With Jon's work, you'll learn the tools you need to calm the body the minute you realize your friend may be late or not coming at all. By the time you get home, your nervous system is not only regulating, but you call your friend and she's horrified that she forgot the appointment. And, the next time a friend calls for coffee, you say yes (instead of thinking, why bother)! In today's episode, I share my own story of how I came to Jonathan's work, and how it's changed my life. In this episode, I interviewed Aerin Lim, a coach, writer, storyteller, and teacher at the Hoffman Institute. Aerin was born and grew up in Korea. Before Aerin embarked on her spiritual journey, she followed the path of achieving material success, getting an Ivy League degree at Brown University, taking up prestigious roles in Investment Banking in NYC and later at tech startups and venture fund companies in the Silicon Valley. However, her world was shaken up when we lost her mother to cancer, led her to begin a profound journey of self-discovery, healing, and transformation. Her experiences led her to create her own map of healing that incorporated different modalities of healing and carved her unique path to serve, surrender, and channel her passion into writing, coaching, and teaching. She shared with us how she found her personal mission statement, how she recommitted to her path over and over again, despite fear, her daily process to stay spiritually grounded, the one question she asks herself everyday to stay on course, what wholeness means to her, and how she engages with her meditation process to be in touch with extraordinary consciousness in the present moment. I hope you will enjoy this episode!! About Aerin: Aerin is a coach, writer, storyteller and teacher at the Hoffman process. She inquires, explores, and holds space for others' unfolding. She is driven by her curiosity to understand consciousness, people, and the world so we take care of each other collectively as a community. Her personal mission is to meditate, play, and serve. She hopes to make our world brighter by deepening our presence and elevating our well-being through coaching, teaching, and authentic storytelling. Effective leadership starts with a clear vision and defined purpose of direction so you can lead with clarity and conviction. For Thomas Rosenberg “I have always been passionate about helping folks grow and transform. However, coming from a medical and scientific family, I felt the need to pursue a technical career path in order to be seen as a man.” Over the course of my 25+ year career, I've worked in a variety of sectors and roles, often as a technical subject matter expert, with people and teams from different cultures in over 20 countries on 5 continents. The underlying theme through it all has been helping people and their organizations become comfortable with change, to lead change, and to flourish. Although I didn't always recognize it at the time, I instinctually found opportunities to insert myself into coaching situations. My journey to this work, comes from decades of head-centered leadership that left me spinning my wheels professionally. After suffering a traumatic brain injury in a near-fatal bicycle accident in 2014, and inspired by the way a dear friend lived richly, shared all her gifts fully and died with tremendous grace in 2016, I was compelled to rediscover the forgotten wisdom of my heart and body. This changed my life and my leadership. I had a deep desire to lead life heart-first. I decided to move towards coaching full-time. I began my certification as an Integral Coach, which I received from New Ventures West. As a Certified Integral Coach, my approach blends both Integral Coaching and somatic work drawn from my own journey as a coach and human. Integral Coaching is a developmental approach that takes into consideration the client's entire being and their social context. In other words, I help to align your head, heart and body. When all three elements are aligned, we more easily fall into flow states and because we uncover our gifts and bring them more fully to the world, the most authentic and powerful version of ourselves arises. Enjoy! What You Will Learn In This Show How Tony started the journey to success in developing his own company What happens when a business starts plateauing, the market becomes harder and more expensive How Tony transitioned from owning his company to starting his integral coaching career Why core values are grossly underthought through And so much more… Resources The Greatness Machine Podcast Tony's Website Website Facebook Instagram YouTube Twitter LinkedIn This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Chartable - https://chartable.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices. When it comes to coaching − both personal and professional − there is often a massive misconception around how it's done and what the goal is. What generally comes to mind is sitting down with someone and being given a set of instructions on how to do things. For this reason, coaching often gets a negative connotation, especially from those who struggle to take orders. = There's a science behind coaching and a strong link to neuroscience. In order to create change, we need to understand how the brain naturally functions. Coaching, which ultimately aims to transform the way people think, react and behave, takes into account how the brain reacts to change so that strategies can be aligned and implemented accordingly. Our brains have their own inherent way of doing things, but unfortunately, sometimes wires can get crossed and we need a little help. Contrary to what many people think, professional and personal coaching is not about giving advice or being told what to do. It's about being readily equipped with the tools needed in order to improve performance in various aspects. There has been a shift away from telling people what to do and towards making suggestions and collaborating as a team. Moving towards a coaching culture means adopting a specific style in which we interact with people both inside and outside the workplace. As a professional Integral Coach and Academic Director of the Centre for Coaching , Janine Ahlers is a guru in the field of Integral Coaching − a form of coaching with a sound theoretical base. In this week's Top Women podcast, Topco Media CEO, Ralf Fletcher sits down with Janine to discuss the ins and outs of coaching, why we should always look inwards and the secrets to successful leadership.

On today's show we talk about how to easily start removing those emotional triggers that can send us into behaviors we later regret. During the holidays and in being women who run a business and have families, holidays are especially stressful times. Eva has a method that she calls: Stop Drop Check and in this episode of Think Grow Love Radio podcast, she explains how it works. Through her BEAM LiFE coaching program Eva shows her clients how to heal from the core by learning how to release internal blocks. Eva's story is a compelling one, as she talks about how these techniques she developed over the years, has made huge changes in her life and in the lives of her clients. Eva Angvert Harren, a Certified Integral Coach and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). She is an Integral Coach specializing in Stress Management and Behavioral Addictions. As a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), she has training in body awareness, nervous system release, and trauma healing — which is a wonderful addition to coaching when restoring the body and mind back to balance. The Stop, Drop, Check technique is useful when our emotional triggers occur. She's created a unique formula from different healing modalities that will integrate your Balance, Energy, Attitude and Motion. She teaches you how to connect fully with your internal guidance system, bringing you relief from your troubled past—all without having to relive your story. MY VISIT WITH EVA Eva teaches effective and transformational  tools that help you find relief from a troubling past. Without having to re-live your story, which I personally think is huge,  you learn skills to understand and manage feelings, thoughts, emotions, and body-sensations.  She guides you through exercises that teach you how to release tension, discomfort, pain, and negative emotions that often lead to obsessive and impulsive behaviors and thought patterns. I recently visited Eva for a session. I had no idea what to expect or pre-conceived notions. Eva asked me what I wanted to get out of the session and I really wasn't quite sure. Eva and I talked for awhile and very gently guided the conversation towards focusing on an issue that was uncomfortable for me. During the interview we talk more about my session with her and how who methods have made some big strides in handling the reactive emotional triggers and gaining more confidence to be loud and proud in the world... like being a host on radio podcasts and live-video training shows. In addition, Eva has had great success with parents and children with Asbergers and Autisim. She partners with Danny of Ashbergers Experts and leads live workshops and offers 1 to1 counseling. In this episode, Rev. Kelly talks with Victoria Wilson-Jones, an Integral Coach and Consultant, and an experienced mind/body/spirit educator and consultant. She has spent the past 27 years assisting individuals in connecting to their deepest authenticity by exploring and working with the transformative energy of Spirit in many ways—through nature, writing, teaching, yoga and movement as well as through art. We are reminded that life is a deep and profound journey to the far reaches of our own authenticity, and we are each an ever-changing, growing and developing being designed to learn and apply new skills as we meet life's challenges.
