The Minnesota Gophers took one on the chin against Ohio State. It's not that the Minnesota Gophers were beaten badly, it's that the game went exactly as you might expect. The Minnesota Gophers were dominated as the defense put up little fight and the offense struggled to move the ball. Purdue comes to town next weekend for homecoming. Can the Minnesota Gophers defense stop Purdue? Right now, all signs point to no. Ross also quizzes Manny on the last time the Minnesota Gophers beat Ohio State back in 2000. Per usual, Manny's memory and historical knowledge is insane. See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

https://www.jasonnewland.com/ Let Me Bore You to Sleep (#1453, October 3rd, 2025)  is a long, rambling, intentionally drowsy podcast hosted by Jason Newland. It runs about 1 hour and 31 minutes. Jason wanders between everyday observations, playful tangents, and one central Q&A Friday question: “Have your new neighbors moved in?” Key Themes & Segments Opening (0:00 – 10:00) Jason greets listeners, jokes about doing 1,452 previous episodes, and scratches an itch mid-intro. He thanks listeners but struggles to sound sincere without laughing. Mentions his podcast's modest downloads, giving shoutouts to listeners in Minnesota and Oregon. Explains Q&A Friday tradition—this week with only one submitted question. Meta-Podcast Talk (10:00 – 20:00) Jason discusses how few questions come in, suggests people could email him at his Hotmail address. Talks about drinking water quietly to avoid editing out gulp sounds. Reflects on how his voice and style come across—often rambling, repetitive, and humorous through mundane details. Everyday Tangents (20:00 – 35:00) Discusses rain, clouds, and whether birds can fly in storms. Shares stories about childhood fear of jumping from trees and a friend's odd “your feet are lower than your eyes” explanation. Recounts how his dog Vinny once panicked at the sight of a hot-air balloon. ChatGPT Experiment (35:00 – 55:00) Jason describes feeding his TurboScribe transcripts into ChatGPT and being surprised that AI could mimic his rambling style. Reads back AI-generated responses to the week's question (“Have your new neighbors moved in?”), laughing at its ghost and bus analogies. Reflects on the weirdness of having AI describe his “style” as repetitive, mundane, self-aware, and surreal. Answering the Question – Neighbors (55:00 – 1:07:00) Jason finally answers: yes, two new neighbors have moved in. One downstairs (has deliveries but Jason hasn't met them). One opposite his flat (they've exchanged greetings twice). Shares awkward encounters: offering help with moving furniture, feeling self-conscious about being seen waiting for deliveries, and worrying whether his neighbor believed him. Reflects on how his building used to be very social but may become quieter as long-term residents move away. Reflections on Change & Community (1:07:00 – 1:15:00) Wonders if he'll eventually become like “Uncle Sausages,” the older neighbor who kept to himself. Notes the building feels less lively now compared to when he first moved in. Thinks about how neighbors cycle in and out, and how one day he'll be “the old man upstairs.” Daily Life & Random Observations (1:15:00 – 1:26:00) Talks about deliveries (razor, shampoo, Ready Brek cereal). Complains about rising grocery prices. Explains how Brits tell the time differently (quarter to/past instead of “fifteen after”). Jokes about sundials giving inconsistent times at a garden centre. Closing (1:26:00 – 1:31:00) Plans a future episode about iconic British comedy characters (e.g., Patricia Routledge's Hyacinth “Bouquet,” Alan Partridge, Frank Spencer). Wraps up with a reminder for listeners to be kind to themselves and ends with his trademark gentle sign-off. Overall Tone & Style Conversational, meandering, and self-deprecating. Mixes humor with personal anecdotes about neighbors, pets, childhood memories, and trivial daily life. Frequently acknowledges the “pointlessness” of his rambling but leans into it, reinforcing the podcast's sleepy, hypnotic effect. ✨ In short: This episode blends Jason's classic sleepy rambling style with a surprisingly reflective discussion about neighbors, AI imitation of his voice, and how his living environment is slowly changing.

Donate (no account necessary) | Subscribe (account required) Join Bryan Dean Wright, former CIA Operations Officer, as he dives into today's top stories shaping America and the world. In this Friday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, we cover the third day of the government shutdown, new polling on political violence, a Minnesota immigration bust, shocking revelations in the Epstein case, crackdowns on unsafe foreign truck drivers, the rising cost of AI power demands, European drone threats, the UK's immigration and crime crisis, a free speech case in Switzerland, a new defense pact in the Pacific, and the science of living to 117. Quick hits to set your radar for the weekend.   Day Three of the Shutdown: Trump celebrated, “I can't believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity.” He is targeting Democrat-leaning agencies and clawing back billions from NYC's subway system and Biden's green energy projects to fund AI and mineral wars.   Poll on Political Violence: NPR and PBS found 30 percent of Americans say violence may be necessary to “steer the country in the right direction,” up from 19 percent last year. Bryan warns that equals 60 million people.   Immigration Fraud Bust in Minnesota: Operation Twin Shield uncovered 275 likely cases of sham marriages, fake jobs, and forged documents. Nationwide “neighborhood checks” are set to follow.   Epstein Blackmail Claims: Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, a former neighbor, said Epstein's massage room “was on video” and called him “the greatest blackmailer ever.” His account echoes Cindy McCain's 2020 remark that “we all knew” what Epstein was doing.   Foreign Truck Driver Crackdown: DOT Secretary Sean Duffy imposed strict new visa, immigration, and English requirements after finding 25 percent of California CDLs are bogus. Trucking groups applauded the move.   AI Sends Power Bills Higher: Bloomberg reports AI data centers pushed utility costs up $16.1 billion in the PJM grid, raising household bills. But Johns Hopkins found AI can predict surgical complications better than doctors, offering life-saving potential.   Russia's Shadow Fleet and Drone Threats: France detained a Russian oil tanker tied to drones buzzing Denmark. Bryan warns adversaries could launch drones or missiles from disguised ships off U.S. shores.   UK's Crisis of Immigration and Crime: A Syrian named Jihad al-Shamie attacked a synagogue, while a British blogger was arrested for posting “F- Hamas.” Seven Pakistani men were sentenced for grooming gangs, and the NHS briefly praised first-cousin marriage before pulling the report.   Swiss Man Jailed for Free Speech: He refused to pay fines for calling gender ideology a “mental illness” and chose 10 days in jail. Bryan notes Trump and Vance are right to warn Europe is committing “national suicide.”   Pacific Defense Pact: Papua New Guinea signed a deal with Australia, reversing a drift toward Beijing and securing vital waters for U.S. and allied navies.   Life at 117: Spanish researchers studied a woman who lived to 117, crediting strong gut bacteria, olive oil, daily walks, and plain yogurt. Bryan quipped, “Unless you live in Portland, where Antifa will get you first.”   "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32     Keywords: Trump government shutdown day three, Trump cuts Democrat agencies, NYC subway green energy clawback, NPR PBS poll political violence, Minnesota Operation Twin Shield sham marriages, Epstein blackmail Howard Lutnick massage room, Cindy McCain Epstein hiding in plain sight, Sean Duffy DOT truck driver crackdown, AI data center power bills Bloomberg, Johns Hopkins AI surgical risk, France detains Russian tanker drones Denmark, UK Jihad al-Shamie synagogue attack, UK blogger arrested Hamas post, UK grooming gangs Pakistani men, NHS cousin marriage report, Switzerland man jailed free speech skeletons, Papua New Guinea Australia defense pact, Spain woman age 117 gut bacteria

Professor Amar visits cities that are in the constitutional news these days:  Portland, where the military pays an uninvited visit; Salt Lake City, where gunfire continues this year's alarming litany of political assassination also seen in Minnesota and elsewhere.  Akhil's epic trilogy, with Born Equal now taking its place as the second volume, speaks to how our history shows us the constitutional principles at work - or not at work - in these and other happenings in our nation.  And he speaks of New Haven, where work has been and is still done that enables these lessons to be told. How to pass the 4 pillars of manhood to your kids Why celebrating vulnerability matters more than perfect discipline How to normalize hard conversations about sex, money, and struggle The long view: Becoming a tender-hearted grandpa starts now FULL SHOW NOTES LEARN about joining the Fall 2025 DadAwesome Accelerator Cohorts SUMMARY Some days you feel like a C-grade dad, and that's when presence matters most. In this episode, Josh Krehbiel shares how he's learning to create emotional safety for his kids, celebrate vulnerability over performance, and pursue the long view of becoming a tender-hearted grandfather. You'll hear about the four pillars of manhood, why crock-pot freedom beats microwave solutions, and how to get to the rocking chair with love on your heart. TAKEAWAYS Marking moments matter: Creating manhood ceremonies and intentional milestones leaves lasting impressions on your kids, even if the follow-up isn't perfect. Celebrate vulnerability first: When your kids fail or confess something hard, make it about their openness before addressing consequences—this builds emotional safety. Reject passivity, accept responsibility, lead courageously, and be fueled by the future: These four pillars of manhood provide a framework for raising boys and girls with character. Pursue purity as a top priority: The war for purity as a father protects your ability to show physical affection and have compassion without contamination. Freedom is crock-pot, not microwave: Breakthrough comes through long-suffering love and staying present, not by trying to manhandle change. GUEST Josh Krehbiel is the lead founding pastor of Every Day Church in Roseville, Minnesota—a community focused on prayer, discipleship, and sending out leaders and movements. Along with his wife Katie, Josh is passionate about raising up the next generation through worship, ministry, and authentic family connection.
