This week AJ and Andy explore the filmic second episode of Secret Army: Sergeant on the Run. This leads them to consider the unique directorial style of Latvian-born Viktors Ritelis with his penchant for metaphor and stark European realism. They also discuss how this episode might have placed better later in the run due to its focus on a guest character - Sergeant Walker played by Martin Burrows - as opposed to the series regulars, some of whom we are still being introduced to, such as cycle shop owner Jacques Bol. AJ prompts Andy to considers why gay men might be drawn to the series female characters and also wonders if the relationship between Albert and Monique might have only been a 'night-time encounter' had it not been for the war. Andy also reads from, series advisor, Bill Randle's account of his wartime evasion adventures in Brussels which directly inspired some of Sergeant Walker's scenes in this episode. The episode ends with nostalgic reflections from Secret Army fan Joanne Lee who remembers watching the series while at school in Brussels. Drain and set aside.Meanwhile, in a large pot of boiling water, blanch the mung bean sprouts for 1 to 2 minutes, then run them under cold water to stop the cooking process. Transfer the mung beans to a large bowl, add the kimchi (without the liquid), scallions, garlic, mushrooms, soy sauce, and sesame oil and marinate for at least 30 minutes (but no more than 4 hours). In a blender, combine the soaked mung beans, the salt, black pepper, egg replacer, kimchi liquid, and up to 1 cup water. Blend until a slightly orange batter forms (it should be like oatmeal). If your blender is not large enough to accommodate all the mung beans at once, work in batches.Pour the batter into a large bowl and mix half of the marinated vegetables into the batter. In a large nonstick skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of the olive oil over medium heat. Spread a piece of the marinated kimchi, 4 to 5 pieces of scallion, and a couple slivers of garlic and mushrooms in the pan. Then spoon 3 to 4 tablespoons of the batter over the vegetables in the pan. Cook until the bottom is golden brown, about 2 minutes. Flip the pancake and cook until both sides are evenly cooked, an additional 2 minutes. I have a free gift for you, Money Blueprint for Women Leaders. It is downloadable at www.janetaisyahquek.com/money.Hi, It's Janet Aisyah and in this bonus episode I would like to share with you my success in launching the Podcast SEASON 2. Launching the PODCAST SEASON 2 impacted my life instantly in 2020. I truly agree that a podcast is not only about building online presence, but most importantly online credibility and recognition by showing up consistently. 1) Headhunted more than 10 times directly from companies and recruiters in 3 months from Asia Pacific, US and Europe even in this covid 19 situation. 2) I realized that my message impacted more people than I ever thought it could now with listeners and followers in 9 countries in 3 months. After awarded Platinum Instant Podcast Leader, I have garnered more than 100 likes on social media and some friends commented that now I am a Queen and drew attention to new connections who are keen to know what I am doing and how podcast can help them. 3) My husband has also showed more support by helping with the tech stuff whenever I need to prepare for my podcast recording and ensuring children are cooperative. My children now are used to me doing my work as podcast host though knowing that I have left my job. Initially, my youngest son told me that podcast is not working but I explained how this is going to help me in seeing as a leader online and eventually I have C-suite who connected with me after 3 years signed up a clarity call. A friend signed up Instant Leader Podcast after my recommendation. 4) I was given opportunity to share on NAC virtual Global platform with my mentor Genecia and podcast coach Joanne Lee. I have done more than 14 FB live with them in 1 2 months. This was not possible if I had not started my IPL show. 5) It has helped me to set a routine though I am not working for 9 months. I get to complete my 2 years of Podcast content in 3 months. 6) As I keep the momentum to complete the Season 2, I am able to think on the spot a topic and free flow the content to share. This is possible with the proven structure, process and system in place. 1. 10 objections: a) When I got to start the podcast SEASON 2, I was not sure if this is something I want to continue or just wait to see what results I have before embarking. Since I am taking career break so I decided to prepare myself by continuing before I get busy once I start my new job or my business which is working in progress. I realized that time flies so fast and now it has been 9 months since I quit my last job. So I decided to use this time to continue SEASON 2 so I will have 2 years of content. b) By now I have already taken a career break almost 9 months and I saw my SEASON 1 has helped me to get leads, enquiries and my first 2 C-suite clients. I do not have any income since August 2019 as I left my corporate job to care for my late mum before she passed on late Nov 2019. I would be spending on my savings which meant that I have to cut down on other expenses so to invest in myself , I then thought that I really want to achieve my dream of being an entrepreneur and I got to invest in myself. So it was a money issue. But when I realized that I can actually earn more the moment I have built my reputation online. By showing up and having my voice heard, people will come to know who I am and what I stand for, and people will support me just like headhunters have approached me instead of me going to them. More people will come get to know me and my brand and once I build my online businessc) At first my husband was worried that I am not earning yet I continue to spend for SEASON 2 before I can see income coming in but I told him this is part of my own branding and for future online business that I am going to embark on. Since I am available now, it will be best time to do otherwise there is never a good time. Best is because I have the choice to do it and with my husband support, I can have a breakthrough and it also influenced him to see things differently about the power of online presence after I completed SEASON 2 episodes in 48 hours especially during lockdown period during Covid 19. He saw I have became more confident eventhough I am not working but I have discipline to get my recording done despite I could just sit on it and delay since I have time. d) I don't know how I can continue recording when there is circuit breaker in Singapore as I no longer able to do at the head office. Genecia and Joanne explained to me that they will support and guide me to do it online, I just need to follow what they need me to do. Having the whole Soul Rich Woman team put me at ease knowing that I just to have to focus on my script and they do the rest. I just need to share my posting and recording on weekly basis without worry about the technical part that I am more at ease. e) As I am not sure if I have enough topics to share in season 2, my mentor Genecia spent time with me to draw out and guided me to position myself in the topics I could share. That gave me ideas and topics I could share. As I was also building my business as Podcast Coach and given opportunities to do FB live and conduct virtual events, I have topics to share more on my experience and learnings. f) Another issue I had was time, though I am not working at the moment but I have to juggle between attending to children, new business opportunity and going for job interviews during the period I have commit to complete 55 episodes. My helper has returned home due to emergency family matter to attend to. But because I believed in the importance of doing the podcast and in the urgency of doing it now rather than later, I was able to make arrangements, do when having the momentum so that things could be done earlier. It is a relieve for me that I have content ready and I can focus on building my business and attending to leads and enquiries. g) On top of all those issues, I had fears on the outcome if I will be repeating myself in some of the topics. Will listeners get bored on what I shared. How will people react? But because it has been my dream to reach out to my 1st 10 000 audience in 3 years so I need to continue to build my content and so keep me going. I also understand that as I have more episodes, my voice is easily searchable on internet. Podcast is a marketing vehicle that can be used again and again for life. h) I was also feeling anxious about what I am going to share if listeners will connect with me despite I have launched SEASON 2. I still went ahead as I realized I have so much content to offer and empower women who can achieve success like myself. Understanding that my intention is to share and inspire and not to criticize or destroy other people's lives, gave me the courage to continue despite the hardwork and continue SEASON 2.i) Recording the episodes also requires a lot of time and effort especially is in Ramandan when I cannot eat and drink from sunrise to sunset. I got tired at times when there are distractions that I had to record again due to environmental noises not within my control. . I spent less time with my children and on my own to do list. And there were a few tasks I had to set aside just to give priority to my podcast recording. But I now see this to be my big lesson in life. If you want to succeed in anything, you have to stay focus, remind yourself why you first started, make it happen and you have to set it as your number one priority. I have been getting attention of some responses that they see me as expert in podcast leader online and refer someone to me. j) Having launched SEASON 2, I am also anxious about what will happen next? Some how I am looking forward to SEASON 3 with new level of perspectives and new learnings. Then by going back to understanding my intentions and remind myself why I started that this will be about doing something positive for me and for others, and by knowing that I have a strong team of soul rich woman to support me, my worries are tamed and controlled. So, having your family and friends to support you in what you are doing, and giving you the understanding of the journey you wish to embark on is already a great encouragement, not to mention that having the soul rich woman team is your rocket launcher! Knowing that you have people behind you who will look after your best interest and following up on you so that you don't fall to you're the little voices inside your head is a great support. Therefore I believe that no matter how good you think you are you need a team who can support and guide you, but most importantly people who know what they are doing. The soul rich woman team makes you feel you are family and that they've got your back every step of the way. Conclusion:Having launched my podcast show SEASON 2 in 48 hours, it boosted my confidence to a higher level and achieve so many great results in 3 months. I feel that I have grown to next level and continue to hone my skills and learning to bring my business online. I feel that I am also blessed to have crossed paths with Soul Rich Woman team who could help me make it possible. When we raise our voices together, the words woman power becomes more than just a phrase. It becomes a movement.Know that your dreams are valid and on your path, you're never denied and only be directed. Let your voice be heard. On Play Me a Recipe, your favorite cooks will walk you through their most treasured recipes, offering all the insider tips, stories, and tricks you won't get from a written recipe—and you'll be right alongside them, every step of the way. Feel free to pause, jump back, or navigate the steps via the podcast chapters (if you're in Apple Podcasts, swipe up on the episode player page—the podcast chapters will be at the bottom). If you're cooking along, here's the recipe we're making today. Go ahead and grab the ingredients below (Julia starts listing them at TK) before starting the episode.BindaetteokServes 8 to 102 cups dried peeled split mung beans1 cup mung bean sprouts1 cup Baechu Kimchi plus 2 tablespoons kimchi liquid8 to 10 scallions, cut into 2- to 3- inch lengths3 to 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced5 to 6 fresh shiitake mushrooms, stems discarded, caps thinly sliced2 teaspoons soy sauce1 tablespoon sesame oil½ teaspoon salt1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper2 tablespoons egg replacer (preferably JUST Egg), plant milk, or aquafaba (canned chickpea liquid)2 tablespoons extra- virgin olive oilSpicy Soy Sauce Dressing, for servingSoak the dried mung bean in cold water until softened, about 4 hours. Continue to make more pancakes, adding extra oil as necessary.Serve with the spicy soy dressing. Is there a recipe you'd like to hear us make? With 3.5 million social fans and growing, she now has a best-selling cookbook! Like her TikTok, the new cookbook, “The Korean Vegan Cookbook: Reflections and Recipes from Omma's Kitchen”, weaves together delicious veganized recipes with intimate stories and details on her life, both past and present. She talked to us about some of the recipes in the book and how her family influenced not only her plant-based diet journey but who she's become as a human. Beyond the food, Joanne explains some of the myths behind the popular notion that you can't veganize Korean food. And we hear about the concept diaspora and how she navigates her identity as Korean American. Last, we play a riveting round of rapid fire to find out her favorite vegan spot in Chicago, what her favorite cocktail is, whether she has a favorite TikTok, and her most loved recipe!
Joanne Molinaro was deep into her career as a full-time attorney when she started blogging as The Korean Vegan, a nod to both her heritage and her curiosity about reimagining the cuisine she grew up on. She soon after launched a TikTok account that exploded and, along with her other platforms, boasts over 3.5 million fans. She's appeared on The Food Network and Al Jazeera English, been featured in the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, NPR, and CNN, and has just released her debut cookbook + memoir, The Korean Vegan Cookbook.A Korean American woman, born in Chicago, Joanne's parents were both born in what is now known as North Korea. Their harrowing journey to the states led them to settle in Chicago. From her earliest days, she was deeply aware of inequity and felt an empathic call to advocacy, along with the impulse to help guide people through a process of change. That led her into the law, which remained her central devotion, literally, until the day before we recorded this conversation. Her TikTok (@thekoreanvegan), was started largely as a coping mechanism for the isolation caused by the global pandemic. She began posting content related to politics and life as a lawyer during quarantine. However, after a single post of her making Korean braised potatoes for dinner (while her husband taught a piano lesson in the background) went viral, Joanne shifted her attention to producing 60-second recipe videos while telling stories about her life, family, and the state of the world. She discovered an entirely new channel for advocacy and artistry in this most unusual place, one that both allows millions of people to see themselves in the stories, cultures, and yes, food, of others, and also serves as a powerful mechanism to advocate for inclusivity and change. You can find Joanne at: Website | InstagramIf you LOVED this episode:You'll also love the conversations we had with MILCK about creativity, music, carving your own path and representation. My new book SparkedCheck out our offerings & partners: Theragun: A deep muscle massage treatment, unlike anything you've ever felt. TRANSCRIPT FOR EP56:WELCOME TO SHE IS CONFIDENTHi, this is Deon Teh and in this episode, I would like to share with you my success in launching the Podcast. The podcast impacted my Mind & Soul, I truly agree that A podcast is not only about building online presence, but most importantly it helps me sort out my thinking on my past that why I encountered those matters, and realising a calling after doing my Podcast.1) I successfully used my second language, English to present in my show, something which I never thought was possible.2) One of my friends commented that I had met the better myself and this is a small win for me.3) My spiritual teacher had clicked and liked some of my posts that I felt encouraged.4) One of my colleagues was curious about what I was doing and asked me what it was for.5) I am proud to have my own podcast, and in Season 1 it has 55 episodes and can listen on more than 20 platforms and over the world.a) On the first day when I attended the Masterclass, Genecia was sharing how Soul Rich Woman helps businesses to go from offline to online, as a Leader in a company I am concerned about how to let DDG do business online too for this modern world.b) I used to rely on books as My mentor. I was able to learn a lot from books that I read and they directed me to what I am, however, I need someone that understands the market and trend that where I am, i.e. Singapore, therefore I am searching for a solution. At first, I joined the Soul Rich Woman blueprint, and I learned about how to use modern technology to promote our product, however, I was craving for what is the next and I decided to join 4 in 1 group coaching and after that, I want to be more focus and see the result and hence I decided to join mentorship.c) I want to help my company to go online. While undergoing mentorship, Genecia told me that in order for me to help my company, I need to build my own brand first. Then I realised that I forgot to love myself first before loving others.d) I told Genecia that I wanted to publish my own book in the near future during our mentorship, and she advised me to take up the podcast, which is the faster way to boost my authority especially as I am a leader to my company.e) Even though I was a leader in my company, I was not clear on my life purpose and journey. Through doing the podcast, I was able to find my direction and it was also a self-healing journey for me as I consolidated all my years of experiences and stories for the podcast episodes. f)I was camera shy and I am unable to express myself nicely if it were to be a live broadcast or video recording, of course, I had many fears before doing, like what people will look at me, what if I cannot take it the comments, with the help of my podcast coach Joanne Lee, I was able to overcome my fears. and since SRW helps with 95% of the work, behind the scenes production is done by them, and I don't have to worry about any administration tasks, I just concentrate to write the script and dig deeper myself. g) I had many complex feelings while writing my scripts, at the end, I found my direction, and Genecia being my guide told me that I can use my past experiences, transform it to tell people my story and people who listen can benefit from my experiences and have a guide also and maybe can short cut their unnecessary path.h) on top of that, I had fears that my English not that fluent. How will people react? Am I sure I want to continue and I am not that professional as others that are well trained? However, after discussing with Genecia, I have confidence that the team will support and help me to overcome this, and I went ahead to do my podcast show.i) I was also feeling anxious and uncomfortable about sharing my story and being truthful about what I feel deep inside, but realizing that this is me and people hearing my story deserve a “real deal”, I still went ahead with everything that is coming from my heart. Understanding that my intention is to share and inspire and not to criticize or destroy other people's lives, gave me the courage to go out and do the podcast.j) Initially I have to convert my writing for the podcast episodes into English. I got tired, as I had to use up a lot of energy thinking of what to say and sitting on the table to think about my past. And there were a few things I had to set aside just to give priority to my podcast. But I now see this to be a big lesson in life. If you want something big and impactful, you have to allocate big energy and big focus, to make it happen and you have to set it as your number one priority. k) having launched the podcast, I am also anxious about what will happen next? then by going back to understanding my intentions and my goal that this will be about doing something positive for me and for others especially for the working mothers, and by knowing that I have a strong team of soul rich woman to support me, my worries are tamed and controlled.Having launched my podcast boosted my confidence to a higher level. I feel that I just won over my fear of doing something new and being judged for my result. I feel that I am also blessed to have crossed paths with the Soul Rich Woman team who could help me make it possible.Launching the podcast gave me great happiness, that I was able to share my message so instantly to the public, and I am the first listener to my own podcast episode every week.I also believe that exposure is magic, now that I have shared my stories, I realized that people are actually appreciating what I did. Had I continued to hide under my fears, I would not have touched people's hearts, and most importantly my family's hearts.I have also proven that it is never too late to learn something new, there is no right or wrong but it is about taking action. It surely was a surprise to my son and my husband that I am into podcasting. I won't be surprised if they were shocked because I felt it that way too. But having launched my own podcast show, gave me a lot of relief and a truly good feeling that I won over my fears and I succeeded in my efforts to growing myself day by day. When we raise our voices together, the words woman power becomes more than just a phrase, it becomes a movement!Know that your dreams are valid and on your path, you're never denied, only directedIt's time to get your voice heard.Do check out my link in the show notes on how you can become an Instant Podcast Leader like me and If you want to talk about transforming your inner child, healing your relationships with yourself and money, connect with me through my Facebook and the link is in the show notes.https://www.facebook.com/leeyongtehhttps://www.instagram.com/d_t_l_y/https://www.linkedin.com/in/deon-teh-leeyong-573a0766/
WELCOME TO Woman Leadership !Hi, It'S Janet Aisyah and in this episode I would like to share with you my success in launching the Podcast . THE PODCAST impacted my life instantly in 2020. I truly agree that a podcast is not only about building online presence, but most importantly online credibility and recognition. a) I realized that my message impacted more people than I ever thought it could, I even have my ex colleagues who commented on my post that it was so inspiring and motivating and looking forward to listening to more episodes, another ex colleague who also commented that she admire my passion for my public speaking and secondary school friends wanting to understand more by listening to all the episodes that have been released.b) My youngest son was so excited and was the first to listen to my first 2 episodes when it was launched and wanted to listen to more episodes asking when would the rest of episodes be ready. He got to learn about my childhood experience and asked me why I was treated badly when I was a child which I never shared with them. My eldest son also saw the efforts I put in preparing and being determined to complete 55 episodes and doing together with him sitting to each other when he will do his revision and homework. I am able to connect with my family on a deeper level sharing when they saw how enthusiastic that I have been working on it with continuous late nights. My husband also will showed support by driving me to do my live recording. c) My good friend told me that she is so proud of me that I did podcast and everyone that I met for coffee will asked more about my podcast experience. d) I did not have a business to start with but the launch of my podcast series provided me online presence and was approached for a business opportunity , as I was seen as doing something different.e) Usually whatever I post on social media will have less than 10 likes. I got over 90 likes for my first post and over 60 posts when mentioned about completing my episodes. Many are those who I did not contact for a long time and some were my ex company GM and DGM who liked the post and that meant noticing what I am doing and listening to my podcast. 1. 10 objections: a) when I got to know about the podcast , I took a night to think about it and I decided to go for it the next day and that's how I got started. Initially I thought to myself not possible to complete 55 episodes in such a short period of time when I was struggling to start the first episode but I did it! Anything is possible when I cleared my limiting belief and trust the team to do the rest. it took me sometime to think about completing the 55 episodes as I do not have any business at that point and how it is going to help me. From my past experience, I know that it will open doors to more opportunities and so I went for it. It has transformed my learning process even when I attend interviews, I remember the structure that was taught to me when doing the podcast. b) I believed in investing in education and because of my financial literary, in the last 15 years of investing and education . I have already spend quite a lot on my children tuition and it's time to start investing in myself again . By showing up and having my voice heard, people will come to know who I am and what I stand for, and people will support me. More people will come get to know me and my brand and once I start my online business. people would like to invest with me because they can see how authentic and courageous I am. It was like when I first invested 6 times more my salary in Quantum Leap by T Harv Eker with Success Resources in 2007 using credit card and took 2 years to pay off, I have earned back what I have invested and much more within 3 years of my career. c) At first my husband was worried that I am not earning yet I am spending before I can see income coming in but I told him this is part of my own branding and for future online business that I am going to embark on. Since I am available now, it will be best time to do otherwise there is never a good time. Best is because I have the choice to do it and with my husband support, I can have a breakthrough and it also influenced him to see things differently about the power of online presence after I completed 55 episodes in 48 hours. d) I don't know how to go about it and what I need to do but when I started immediately the moment I decided, Genecia and Joanne explained to me that they will support and guide me, I just need to follow what they need me to do. Having the whole Soul Rich Woman team put me at ease knowing that I just to have to focus on my script and they do the rest. I just need to share my posting and recording on weekly basis without worry about the technical part that I am more at ease. e) Initially, I had difficulty writing and composing my message and I was very nervous when I started recording. I was very stiff and sound weird when listening to my own voice. But because Joanne Lee was there right beside me to cheer me up, chit chat with me and encouraged me , I successfully did it. My mentors Genecia Alluora and James Wee would be there to periodically encourage me everytime I made some improvement in my progress. And the next few episodes were a lot easier than the first. I managed to do without full script after 25 episodes. f) Another issue I had was time, though I am not working at the moment but I have to juggle between attending to children, new business opportunity and going for job interviews during the period I have commit to complete 55 episodes. But because I believed in the importance of doing the podcast and in the urgency of doing it now rather than later, I was able to make arrangements, do when having the momentum so that things could be done even if I had to rush for another appointment after the live recording. g) On top of all those issues, I had fears on the outcome of my podcast. How will people react? will they be inspired, or will I be criticized as I was not active on social media before and all those little voices in my head that we normally face when doing something for the first time. I maybe experienced in corporate as a speaker, trainer and facilitator but not sure about on podcast. But because it has been my dream to reach out to millions of audience not only in the company that I worked in , I took action in spite of fear.h) I was also feeling anxious about sharing my story and being truthful about what I feel deep inside, initially I thought about what I should not share but realizing that this is me and people hearing my story deserve a “real deal” , I still went ahead with everything that is coming from my heart. The Understanding that my intention is to share and inspire and not to criticize or destroy other people's lives, gave me the courage to go out and do the podcast.i) Recording the episodes also requires a lot of time and effort. I got tired, I had to use up a lot of energy thinking of what to say and sitting on the table typing for hours. I spent less time with my children and my youngest son once fell asleep while waiting for me to complete my script. He commented I did not spend enough time with him during that period I was trying to complete my recording and scripting to keep the momentum. And there were a few tasks I had to set aside just to give priority to my podcast. But I now see this to be my big lesson in life. If you want to succeed in anything, you have to stay focus, remind yourself why you first started , make it happen and you have to set it as your number one priority.j) Having launched the podcast, I am also anxious about what will happen next? Then by going back to understanding my intentions and remind myself why I started that this will be about doing something positive for me and for others, and by knowing that i have a strong team of soul rich woman to support me, my worries are tamed and controlled. I got a message from a friend saying that she admired my passion in public speaking that spur me to work hard to complete my 55 episodes sharing my message as the world needs more people like me who would come out and share their messages as well. so, having your family and friends to support you in what you are doing, and giving you the understanding of the journey you wish to embark on is already a great encouragement, not to mention that having the soul rich woman team is your rocket launcher! Conclusion:Having launched my podcast in less than 7 hours, boosted my confidence to a higher level and received so many positive likes and comments online even with friends I did not chat for years. I feel that I just won over my fear of doing something new and being judged for my result. I feel that I am also blessed to have crossed paths with Soul Rich Woman team who could help me make it possible. Launching the podcast made me happy that I was able to share my message so instantly to the public, without having to wait to write a book and it gives me an instant sense of fulfillment instead of waiting 1 year for a book to be published. I also believe that exposure is magic, now that I have exposed my story, I realized that people are actually appreciating my courage and be a leader in a trend that not many are doing it big. Had I continued to hide under my fears, I would not have touched people's hearts, and most importantly my family's hearts.

Leo Tolstoy's famous novel Anna Karenina opens with this sentence: “Happy families are all alike; every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.” The family from this week's book, Silent Sisters by Joanne Lee, has to be one of the unhappiest I've ever encountered. Bernadette Quirk didn't seem to enjoy being a mother at all. It seemed as though she would rather drink and read true crime magazines than provide even basic care or affection for Joanne. Bernadette had another child, Cath, when Joanne was 10, and she left nearly all of Cath's care to Joanne, and again later when she had her son Chris. When Joanne was in her twenties and her siblings in their teens, they all felt sure that their mother was pregnant again. But time passed, and Bernadette didn't give birth - that anyone knew of. Years later, when Joanne and Cath were helping their mother move, Cath found the corpse of a baby in a closet. 76: Successful People Don't Gossip. Here's Why. Gossiping wastes time and energy. It is a vampire sucking action that does not bring you closer to your dreams.Today I want to talk about gossiping. Gossiping is a waste of time. This is something that is also very close to my heart because I see many situations. People come together, and they are gossiping, they're just looking at bringing someone else down or they think that it's just harmless to talk about that person or that situation. I want to tell you that gossiping is a waste of your own energy. It's like eating the poison and hoping that person will die. Welcome to ‘Soul Why? The secret of Soul Rich Woman Blueprint'.Choose your fishes 03:46- 03:58 Gossiping is something that I don't recommend. That is why in Soul Rich Woman, those leaders who gossip, will eventually not align with us. 04:27- 04:29 You choose the fishes you want in your community. 05:51- 05:55 That is why we must guard ourselves. Protect ourselves from gossip. 06:09- 06:26 That is why I love it when I know women like Charlotte Mizuki, Joanne Lee, Janet Aisyah Quek. These women are closer and growing with us. 06:33- 06:40 I see how they are understanding or so-called being brainwashed by me about vibrating at the highest level. 06:43- 06:48 And because of that, when we come together, we don't talk about other things. 06:51- 07:01 We come together, we're asking ourselves, how can we make more money together as a group, how can we through our content serve more women around the world. The fine line between just sharing and gossiping 07:26- 07:42 If you're positive, you are full of abundance, you are the ocean of positivity, everything that you can be, that's when you're going to get all the clients you want. That's when you can sell high ticket items. 07:48- 07:54 Because you are vibrating at the level. You'll no longer pull yourself back. 08:06- 08:10 If you truly want success, you must stop gossiping. 08:21- 08:25 There's a fine line between just sharing and gossiping. 08:26- 08:29 It's the energy and the way you talk about it. Stop gossiping 08:51- 09:09 Stop gossiping. Reflect. If you need to air and say some things, speak with your mentor, with your coach, share that out and clear it away because it's baggage. 09:26- 09:59 Stop all these habits because if you want to be successful, we have no time to talk about other people. Why don't you spend that extra time gossiping in helping someone else, supporting someone else, mentoring someone else, coaching someone else, instead of pulling people down by your words, energy, and then in return karma comes back. And then, your own energy in turns sucks. Key Takeaways: Protect yourself from gossip. Choose your fish wisely. Stop gossiping. Speak with your mentor. Know the fine line between sharing and gossiping. 65: How to Sell Anything During This Challenging Times. Ask Genecia Anything Segment. The questions are asked by Podcast Coach, Mother of 3, and Instant Podcast Leader, Joanne Lee. This is a part of our weekly FB live segment. Hope it will bless you. When written in Chinese, the word “crisis” is composed of two characters. One represents danger, and the other represents opportunity. Every crisis is, at the same time, an opportunity. Make use of your situation right now as an opportunity to grow.Hello and welcome to today's episode. Let me introduce our guest, Joanne Lee, a 14 years-stay-at-home mom to instant podcast leader. So today's topic we'll talk about how do you sell anything during these challenging times. Get ready to let your pockets full as you tune in with us.To be seen online03:55- 04:03 I think the first thing that anybody can do right now especially this season, doing this threat and challenging times, it's important to be seen in the online world. 05:09- 05:28 Today, when people find you online, if they were to Google you and they can not find you, or they come to Facebook, LinkedIn, or Instagram, they search for some keywords and you are not present even in the online world. Not having a name for yourself, why would they trust you? 05:29- 05:37 I think the first thing is to really identify ‘What do you stand for?'; ' What kind of things are you selling or services?' 07:08-07: 23 When considering starting a business and bringing your business online, whether it is a product or services. Look at how they are establishing trust in the online space first. If the connection is something that they truly value then they must look at “How can I build trust and connection?” Know who you want to serve08:24- 08:30 To know what kind of customers you want to attract is to really know who you want to serve. 09:47-09:52 Don't make everybody become like you. You must first love the customers before you love your own product. 10:00-10:17 You must first understand what is the one problem that you want to solve immediately for the customers. A lot of times when we talked about finding your ideal and potential customers online so you can sell anything and everything. You have to first identify what is the one problem that you can solve. 16:00- 16:07 Customers won't change but the behavior will change. You have to identify the behavior of your customers. 16:54-17:03 You need to learn how to delegate 80% of your ‘to-do lists' so you can make money online. So you can focus on your zone of genius. A lot of people are not delegating. 17:24- 17:37 I spent my money on outsourcing, delegating, building teams, and of course in focusing on sales and marketing as well. Because selling anything during these challenging times, not many people do not have a lot of money. 17:40-17:43 I would say that every crisis is another opportunity. Budgeting21:30-21:39 I believe in moving my marketing budget forward. I believe in moving a certain budget forward. Traveling, eating, and clothes budget, everything goes to a budget. 21:50-22:15 I know that I want to go online in 2013, and I know that I need good equipment to help me go online. To do up all the video and audio editing, webinars. I need a good system. I want it to be really awesome and can future-proof me. From 2013 to now, it's almost 7 years. 22:37-22:44 The logic, when I choose to invest in myself and in my business, I was serious about it. It was not a hobby. Key Takeaways:1. There is a chance of everything, so be ready for the ups and downs.2. Set your goals and set your budget.3. Customers won't change but the behavior will. 4. Any crisis is an opportunity.5. Ignoring business online is like setting up a company but not telling anyone.Key Resources:Subscribe to Genecia's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/SoulRichWomanVisit SRW's website: https://www.soulrichwoman.comFollow Genecia on Instagram : (@Geneciaalluora)Follow Genecia on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/geneciaalluora/Check Genecia's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/genecia/Free Resource: "Soul Why: Soul Rich Woman Blueprint" and "How to Delegate 80% of your to-do list" ---> https://be.soulrichwoman.comSecrets of Manifesting Money Quickly Online Course ---> https://shor.by/moneymindset
64: Dare to be vulnerable. Give Others The Permission To Shine. An Interview With Genecia Alluora by Joanne Lee and Janet Aisyah QuekGenecia is a diamond maker. Be a diamond maker and give others permission to shine.Do more with less. You can always do this by challenging yourself to be resourceful and by managing your time. Be great in all you do by choosing to manage your time well.Hello, gorgeous and welcome to today's episode. Today's episode is an interview done by my mentees, Joanne Lee, who is a 14 years-stay-at-home mom, mother of three teenagers, 16, 17, and 18 years old. She's also a beauty consultant, podcast coach, as well as a professional makeup artist who works with celebrities. On the other side of the microphone, you will hear Janet Aishya Quek, also my mentee, and also a platinum instant podcast leader. It's going to be about an hour and I hope you will enjoy the interactions between the three of us. Enjoy the laughter.A soul rich woman04:58- 05:07 Why I named it “Soul Rich Woman''? I really believe that for a woman to be rich, it doesn't have to be the money. It can be rich in soul. 05:16- 05:34 When our body and soul align, that's when we can do greater things and go to the next level, breakthrough and become a rich woman. Whether it is rich in wealth, sheets of information, parenting, whatever area just to be a rich woman. That's why I named it “Soul Rich Woman”. 06:29- 06:45 I think one of the biggest steps to get out of my comfort zone is to be aware first where I am not performing well, where I am stuck at, and then later on addressing it with my mentor. 07:30- 07:42 One of my biggest ‘aha moments' as an entrepreneur is doing more with less. Never be focused on the money because it is never a vehicle of any results that I wanna achieve, it's a by-product of whatever I wanna do. 08:08- 08:12 Love the customers first before you love your product. Diamond creator10:37:- 10:50 I am a diamond maker, and you are a diamond. My dream is to be a diamond maker for millions of women around the world so that they can be the diamond that they can be. 11:30- 11:33 Soul Rich Woman is a diamond creator. 13:03- 13:21 What I do to motivate myself is when I hear your success. When I look back at all the women that I have helped. I asked myself, what is the vision of the woman that I want to do? Which is to be the diamond maker of millions of women around the world especially women in Southeast Asia and Asia. 17:25-17:51 (26) I learned how to talk to women, I learned how to understand women because all my friends are men but in the last 5 years, I learned to understand women at a deep level. How to communicate with women and use women lingo in Southeast Asia and Asia? Which is very different from the US and Europe. Storytelling34:45- 34:48 I really believe that what we say and what we think becomes the reality. 39:56- 40:03 My media training, being on TV, every single time, to me that's the natural thing. 45:44- 45:53 Just share from your experience. There is no right or wrong. I'm treasuring every year of my life. As I get older, I get wiser. 45:59-46:05 Be more open to sharing my more vulnerable part of me because I'm also scared of judgment. 46:28-46:49 I don't think I can even equip and help more people by sharing this part of me. It's important for me to share this part of me, the storytelling part so that we can actually give others the permission to shine, to be the diamond they are. Key Takeaways: It's an amazing feeling that you are not just wealthy in financial freedom but also in your soul. Great power comes with great responsibility. It's not just about being small, it's about doing more with less. In order to have good customers, you need to love your customers first before your products. We all have our diamond color and be in your own color. 62: How A 14 Year Stay At Home Mum Made Her $100K Online (Even if you're an introvert)Be brave in order to shine. Never let your fear dim your light. Be the person you ought to be by stepping out of your comfort zone. Hello! I'm your host, Genecia Alluora. Good to have you here with me today. Are you an introvert? This is a tough question, isn't it? Sometimes you yes, sometimes you say no. But how do you know whether you're an introvert or not? Are you an introvert or an extrovert?01:39- 01:42 How do you know you're an introvert or not? 01:45- 01:50 You are an introvert if you want to have your free time. What do you do in your free time? 01:59-02:10 My business partner loves to go out and meet people, chat out with people because that really shows that he's an extrovert. Because during free time, he just wants to go out. 02:11- 02:21 For myself, after a day of work, whenever I have free time I like to stay at home. I like to do my own things and be with myself. 03:05- 03:08 You have permission to shine as an introvert. Be brave to shine03:17- 03:21 I want to encourage you that you can be brave to shine. 03:22- 03:30 Let me share with you a story about this introvert mompreneur who is a 14-year stay at home mom for the longest time. 05:22- 05:31 I introduced her to the world of broadcasting and got her started on broadcasting which was really difficult because she has a lot of concerns. 06:29- 06:34 I'm like, “No, Joanne, you need to step up your game.” 07:07- 7:16 In just six months alone, she's already in 12 countries. She's a listener, follower, fan, in 12 countries because of podcasts. 07:17- 07:31 An introvert like her, stay-at-home-mom, don't know what to say, no experience, have a home-based business like doing professional makeup, and selling some beauty products. 07:38-07:49 But behold, with the soul rich woman blueprint and with my strategy and with my gifted hands and brain involved, she's now in 12 countries. Get out of your comfort zone07:53- 07:57 (4) She was so happy that today she's truly proud of her achievements. 08:18- 08:40 (22) So this is like a progression of awards that we present to women who break to limiting beliefs and go to the next level with the mindset and message because it's very noble for them to be willing to step up to their comfort zone as introverts, letting themselves shine. Therefore, giving others permission to shine. 08:52- 08:54 (2) Now she's inspiring people around the world in 12 different countries. 09:34- 09:47 (13) She has launched her broadcast onto 20 platforms and because of that, she has increased her visibility to be seen as a leader online and therefore makes money easy. 09:49- 09:53 (4) Making money is easy when you are being seen as a leader online. 10:14-10:29 (15) Because as an introvert she chose first to step out of her comfort zone into the action zone to shine bright like a diamond and because of that, giving you the permission to shine. And her name is Joanne Lee. Key Takeaways: If you want to be happy, learn to be alone without being lonely. Going out with people is fun but being with yourself alone is better. Be brave in order to shine. Be proud of whatever achievements you have. An introvert who will choose to step out of her comfort zone will shine bright like a diamond. Joanna has been a lash artist for nearly 10 years. Having been just shy of a decade her lash business has grown up with the industry as it has metamorphised through so many changes. Joanna is also a lash educator and has been teaching for about 3 years and is an accredited trainer for Darling Beauty. Joanna started lashing as a side-line when her children were young and whilst she was still working in television. Television is Joanna's other passion and she went into the world of light entertainment having left university with an English degree. Whilst at uni she was a contestant on Blind Date and it was that whole experience which piqued her interest in television production and became her focus. Working her way up through the roles behind the camera including contracts as an associate producer she is used to writing, producing, directing and shooting broadcast pieces but what she really wanted to do was step infront of the camera. Finally, she landed a job as a reporter on BBC's The Really Useful Show and also started to present for many corporate videos and live shows such as The Boat Show and The Good Food Show. She also co-presented a series on cable TV called ‘Show People'. Eventually, Joanna moved into regional weather presenting and presented for ITV and Channel 5 before being head hunted by Sky News and Joanna finished her TV presenting as a weather presenter there. Alongside this Joanna had a daily contract as a voice over artist for Bloomberg television. Voice overs are one of Joanna's favourite things to do. Before lockdown, Joanna organised a lash event with Dionne of Love and Lashes and it was here that Joanna first spoke about her tips and tricks which she had learned over the years of broadcasting. During lockdown Joanna has taken this onwards and has begun to devise teaching in this area. She has already done some one to one classes for vocal and presenting mentoring via zoom and she is looking forward to doing workshops as well as one to one teaching and hopes also to create an online course. She is very keen to give people the confidence to speak to camera and to create voiced over pieces so that their social media accounts can be brought to life but also to feel more confident with communication day to day, be it face to face with customers or speaking to students or maybe presenting live to a larger audience. Recently, Joanna has also produced a series of podcasts called ‘Behind The Lashes' which she is extremely proud of. It's her little piece of social history, following 22 lash artists from around the world as they navigate their way through this bizarre period of coronavirus. Joanna gets such a buzz out of hearing people's stories. The trials and tribulations. The highs and lows as they battle with fear, lack of income, lack of a sense of future and anxiety that this brings but also the incredible resourcefulness of these women and the numerous ways in which they inspire her and the listeners.

CU in the NT, motherfuckers! Our first foray into the Top End covers the murder of Peter Falconio, a British tourist who was murdered while on holiday with his girlfriend, Joanne Lees, on a road trip from Sydney to Darwin. Bradley John Murdoch played the role of concerned fellow motorist when he signalled to Joanne and Pete to pull over, saying that sparks were coming out of the exhaust on their Kombi.Knowing that car trouble could lead to serious trouble if they were stranded on the Stuart Highway in the literal middle of nowhere in the remote Northern Territory Outback, Peter pulled over, checked the exhaust, and was then shot at point-blank range by Bradley Murdoch. Murdoch then handcuffed Joanne with homemade cuffs and pulled her into his car with the intention to do God-knows-what, but she managed to escape, hiding herself in the bush until Peter gave up and drove away.A massive (and somewhat flawed) police investigation followed. Locating the suspect took literal years, allegations of evidence contamination dogged the trial, and Joanne Lees was forced to physically demonstrate how she escaped from Murdoch before the jury before he was ultimately convicted of the crime.EPISODE NOTES:As we all know, most of Australia is essentially full of sweet fuck-all. For tourists, that’s part of the appeal – long stretches of road with nothing but blue skies and the wild Outback out the window. Joanne Lees and Peter Falconio had dreams of those blue skies when they came to Australia in 2001 on a working holiday visa. After working for a few months, they planned to drive from Sydney through to Adelaide and up to the Top End in an old orange Kombi van before heading to New Zealand and back home to the UK.Their dream Aussie holiday came to a tragic end when they happened upon Bradley John Murdoch on the Stuart Highway by Barrow Creek. The senseless murder of Peter Falconio (and Joanne Lee’s miracle escape) would make headlines across the world. The investigation into Peter’s murder would continue for years, and Joanne would fall prey to an unfriendly media who wouldn’t accept that her British stiff-upper-lip attitude after Peter’s murder was masking unmentionable pain.Bradley Murdoch, a drug runner and suspected rapist, would eventually be found guilty of Peter’s murder, but not before Joanne was found guilty in the court of public opinion. This case added to the atmosphere of fear generated by the Backpacker Murders that Australia was unsafe for tourists, and perhaps for good reason. The body of Peter Falconio has never been found. He is one of many people lost to the unforgiving Outback. You can watch the telemovie made about the case here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEMz1ACXF8g&fbclid=IwAR3ve6qxPn6GK_TLTodKQ2emccGyfJ5s69A5twjoj3DXKiLqKQ5ibg0MQloand the episode of Real Crime Stories covering the case can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28eb8c6FYEM&t=7s&fbclid=IwAR1WGsDgsETr2Kx5KnIZb-pgQoh56qSOt8x_CXagsgy1QesypWVaQ6OLA5QTo read more about the drama about the interview with Andrew Fraser, go here https://www.couriermail.com.au/ipad/channel-7-and-rahni-sadler-charged-over-bradley-john-murdoch-interview/news-story/90b3a9a4324e453fc7e161dfaadeb7fe?sv=f9980e182f0bb97134b47bcd07250b81&fbclid=IwAR1kcTLfzwPXXg7udSdKT9rtvZfy4qu7902l4YQVEvmXBDbJIuMyEm0xy04Of course, there’s always Casefile if you’d like a more scripted version of the case (this is just professional jealousy, the episode is really good) https://casefilepodcast.com/case-44-peter-falconio/If you like what we do please consider supporting us on PATREONSubscribe to the podcast on ITUNES, STITCHER, SPOTIFY or your podcatcher of choice.Find us on FACEBOOK, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM or EMAIL us on murderinthelandofoz@gmail.comwww.thatsnotcanonproductions.com

INTRO There is so much to talk about regarding High Point Furniture Market that we broke up our discussion into 2 parts. If you didn’t listen to part 1, you might want to go back to Episode 58 and listen to that one first. First we will quickly reiterate a few important details: 1. High Point Market is the largest home furnishings trade show in the world. It brings more than 75,000 people to High Point, N.C., every six months to view product from more than 2,000 exhibitors. 2. Highpoint market is in the Spring and Fall so the upcoming show is coming up soon - October 19th-23rd. 3. If you haven’t registered yet, you can still do so at highpointmark.org/register. 3. OUR FAVORITES On Episode 58 we talked a lot about the logistics of High Point – where to stay, where to eat and how to get around. On this show we’d like to dig deeper and let you know about some of our favorite showrooms, new news coming out from the Highpoint Market Authority and some great educational opportunities. A. Cool Stuff to be Aware Of i. Evening Programming - HMA is rebranding its popular evening concert series. In the area between Showplace the the Transportation Terminal, there will be new festivities dubbed “Eats and Beats” where there will be outdoor seating and firepits and (2) areas sponsored by Crate & Barrel and CB2 that will have music, giant outdoor games, cocktails, a dj and a whole lot more. There will still be (2) concerts by T Sisters and Mandolin Orange. ii. Style Spotters - Keep your eye out for this years Style Spotters who are eight design and fashion leaders who showcase the top new styles for each market. Look for their black and white cards on products through out the market. We were Style Spotters for 2 years and it was a lot of fun and a lot of work. This years style spotters are Shayla Copas, Kara Cox, Cynthia Ferguson, Eric Haydel, Benjamin Johnston, Courtney McLeod, Laura Thurman and Erinn Valencich. This group will be hosting Trend Tours so look those up because some of them require reservations. iii. Design Bloggers Tour Hosted by HPMA and Esteem Media – The Design Bloggers Tour will bring (1) leading design bloggers to HPA for a. 2-day tour of sponsoring showrooms. Those bloggers will then be featuring all that they learned on their individual blogs and social media accounts. This is just one of many ways that if you cannot attend market you can still be in the know. Watch out for this bloggers and all they have to share: Sara Malek Barney, Laurence Carr, Lori Dennis, Tim Green, Donna Mancini, Amy Mitchell, Rachel Moriarty, Lisa Peck, Sara Noble and Deborah von Donop. iv. HPM Brand Ambassadors – Our friends Jacki Von Tobel and Deb Barrett are newly appointed HPMA Ambassadors. They will be hosting a new-buyer focused 5-day tour that will provide first time attendees a HPM immersion. If I was brand new to High Point, this is the very first thing I would sign up for. v. Educational and Social Programming – Do NOT make the mistake of going to HPM and spending every minute of your day looking at product. Your feet and your brain will appreciate you changing gears. Look for events at The Point (https://www.highpointmarket.org/plan-your-trip/the-point), in Highpoint Theatre, Market Suites and in many showrooms. There are SO many good ones but I few we have our eyes on: 1. Friday at 8:30am – Breakfast with Tom Felicia at Pandora’s Manor to celebrate 25 years in business. Sponsored by Eastern Accents. 2. Saturday at 10am at Alden Parkes – “From Set Backs to Success: How to Manage and Grow your Design Firm in the Face of Diversity” with Traci O’Connell. 3. In Australia, vegan and animal liberation activism has recently become intense and disruptive, invading farms, restaurants, and city centers. They’re doing everything from rescuing animals to blocking traffic, and occupying steakhouses. Some argue that these new activists are needlessly victimizing innocent farmers, business owners, and consumers. Others argue that the activists are only doing what’s necessary to stand up for the innocent victims of farmers, business owners, and consumers. For any cause, when change does not seem to happen, or happen quickly enough, movements can turn to more confrontational styles of protests, or “uncivil disobedience.” Is this morally defensible, or is civility a must in any kind of protest? Guest voices include Kimberley Brownlee, Chris Delforce, Candice Delmas, Lauren Gazzola, Paula Hough, David Jochinke, Joanne Lee, Brian Leiter, Clare McCausland, Tyler Paytas, Jacy Reese, Jeff Sebo, and Peter Singer. This episode brought to you by Dave's Killer Bread. Click to read stories of second chances and for a special offer. For Slate Plus, there is full bonus companion episode featuring Barry talking with Stephen Metcalf of Slate Culture Gabfest about the philosophical issues raised in the episode. Both Barry and Stephen try to come to terms with whether they think we can separate the morality of activist tactics with the morality of their causes.
