Peregrine falcons have been in residence at the University of Glasgow's Gilbert Scott Tower for a number of years now, with a new clutch of chicks being born again this year. Rachel met with Clarke Elsby from the university and John Simpson, from the Scottish Ornithologists Club, to get a glimpse of these magnificent birds of prey. Solsgirth Home Farm near Dollar is home to a large variety of animals, from sheep, to pigs, to emu. Owned and run by veterinarian Jan Dixon, the farm is passionate about reconnecting people to the realities of farm life. Mark went along to find out more about the ethos behind the farm. Trees are a strong source of inspiration for many creative arts, and one such artist is harpist and singer Mary McMaster, who has been working on a new composition called For the Love of Trees. Helen Needham met with Mary in the Royal Botanic Gardens to find out how woodlands have shaped her work. The Moffat Spitfire has been a local landmark for several years now. The plane has long been located in the garden of retired local GP Dr Hamish MacLeod, and has raised money for several military charities. Now, it is being given new significance, as part of a memorial for Air Chief Marshall Hugh Dowding, who was instrumental in coordinating defensive measures during the Battle of Britain. Mark met with Hamish at his home in Moffat to hear more about Dowding, and the plane itself. Ospreys are back across Scotland, and people across the world are following along on live cameras hosted at sites such as RSPB Loch Garten. Mark and Rachel hear from the Visitor Experience Manager Clark Evans about what an exciting – and sometimes drama-filled - time of year it is on the reserve. The glasshouse and walled garden in the centre of Banff was once home to fruit trees and grapes, grown for the imposing Duff House. Now, it has been transformed into The Vinery - a local community employment hub, teaching classes on all manner of topics, including gardening. Mark met with the gardener, Michelle Walker, to hear more about the opportunities The Vinery is provides to the local community.

As writer Dave Lavender of the Herald-Dispatch has noted, "The Flood doesn't rest on its laurels as West Virginia's most eclectic string band. Born in the 1970s when fiddler Joe Dobbs met Dave Peyton and Charlie Bowen, the Flood has played recent gigs with everyone from the Huntington Symphony Orchestra to Marshall University tailgate parties. The band, which also features Doug Chaffin, Sam St. Clair, Michelle Walker and Randy Hamilton, plays everything from folk classics of John Prine and Bob Dylan to the blues of Mississippi John Hurt. "Throw in some Dixieland jazz, some Irish fiddle tunes, a great sense of humor, some pure mountain melodies from the likes of such state treasured songwriters as Hazel Dickens and yes by God, the best kazoo playing between here and say Kalamazoo, and you got the 1937 Flood," adds Lavender.

WHAKATAU - to make a decision, to settle something within yourself. Whakatau is a short series that explores the experience of Māori in Aotearoa during the global pandemic, and ultimately the decision of whether or not to vaccinate their tamariki (children) against the virus. This episode features Dan and Michelle Walker of Ngāti Ruanui and Ngāruahine, who have three tamariki aged between 5-11yrs. They share about their journey through COVID, but also their fight against an aggressive cancer in their oldest child at the same time. They share how strong communication ensures their whānau remain healthy and loved through the ups and downs, and how they allowed their tamariki to decide for themselves what they wanted to do. - Episode 2 comes out on Fri 22 July - For Māori it can be difficult to trust the government and its western systems, they have not favoured our people and are seen as the key driver to upholding the colonial oppression of indigenous people. What may seem straightforward and 'scientific' to some is seen as a lie and a trap to others. But we have all faced some tough decisions in the past few years, to come to a point of calm and strength (to whakatau oneself) on the vaccination is tricky for many, so we're here to talk about it. www.whakatau.nz

Unknown 0:01Good afternoon, everybody. This Thursday afternoon. This is a quick recap : (several minutes later), the O'Hare Airport, the official recording session, we see it 5.6 inches. (Several minutes later 8:00?). Now I would like to read some of these snow totals that this comes from the National Weather Service. And this is from six o'clock pm Central Standard Time on Tuesday, February 1 through 8am today, so let me just read you the top. The top totals from various states Arkansas, Bella Vista, three miles northwest of Bella Vista. That's what the recording session is. They got nine inches of snow. That's an Arkansas, Colorado 14 Garland 13.3 miles east of Fort garland got 22.4 inches of snow. It looks like that is the top amount. I'm just going to tell you six miles northeast of Denver that's considered Denver. They got 13.6 inches of snow into Illinois. The top of Mount was Macomb, the Macomb County where the recording station is one mile south east of Macomb. 14.5 inches. Also Lewis town in Illinois. 14.4 inches. Peoria, Illinois.Unknown 9:43The recording session is three miles northwest of Peoria 12.1 inches Bloomington, Illinois. The weather station. There's 2.7 miles northeast of Bloomington. They got 12 inches Cantin 12 inches to another state. in Peoria, another Peoria one hour north of Peoria. 12 inches Quincy, one mile west of Quincy. 11.5 inches. I know he said one city per state but we have to put Illinois. I mean this is Illinois. I mean, Vermont, Illinois 11.3 Midway Airport. 11.0 inches. 11 inches. Normal Illinois also 11 inches in the Chicago Romeoville National Weather Service office 10 inches. Now we go into Indiana, Cedar Lake Indiana, 12.5 inches, the same for Miss Miss Shaohua aka Michelle Walker. I'm not sure if I'm pronouncing it right. They also got 12.5 inches. Akron, 12.0 Bowling prairie 4.0 Logan Port 11, Michigan City 11 Morocco 11. Well in 11, South Bend Indiana, the recording station is two miles east of South Bend. They got 10.3 as early this morning, and really there's not much more expected for today. In fact, the National Weather Service is saying just to trace you go into Iowa the highest amount Iowa was motor mo dar one mile south southwest of that city, five inches. Kansas the highest amount was climax. Climax Kansas Kansas nine inches. You go into Topeka, Kansas 4.6 Michigan, St. Joseph Michigan 13.8 inches and go into Missouri New London, Missouri. 12.2 inches Annabelle 11.5 inches. Columbia Missouri reporting stations six miles south east of Columbia 9.7. Springfield, Missouri seven inches St. Louis 6.5 Kansas City 3.8 New Mexico got bombarded with snow cannon Plaza 21 inches, Tahoe ski Valley 20 inches and Santa Fe 3.5 inches. The weather station there's 2.7 miles East northeast in Ohio so far, Ohio is much further east so we're probably still waiting for further snow totals over there but so far as of this morning, Montpelier, Ohio 6.5 inches and similar amounts for the other cities in Ohio mentioned Oklahoma highest amount 6.2 inches and Tulsa Oklahoma, Pennsylvania so far, you know there's not much there yet. The probably will be a lot more Erie, Pennsylvania. 2.7 inches. Texas. Turpin, Texas eight eight inches beaver six inches Groover six inches fritch 5.5 Amarillo Texas that's my favorite city so three miles north of Amarillo Texas 5.1 inches going into Wyoming Cheyenne Wyoming seven inches and I here we have selected preliminary oh so all of those all of those amounts that have so one second year selected preliminary storm total snowfall in inches. Selected pruners. Alright, continuing again. This is I don't know. Okay. I don't know the difference. Oh, total sleet This is the sleet accumulations Arkansas, Otter Creek two inches. Illinois. Carbondale 1.8 inches Kentucky in Henderson attempt of an inch Missouri Shrewsbury one inch Oklahoma. Sup Soper point eight inches. Texas Sweetwater 1.5 This is the sleet Okay, now we go to freezing rain. This is the real dangerous stuff.Unknown 13:48Mulberry Arkansas half an inch along with Pine Bluff. And then you have other areas got a quarter of an inch a quarter of an inch device or more is considered Winter Storm Warning criteria and Illinois have three tenths of an inch for outmanned Illinois, Indiana Floyds knobs and Newberg all received a quarter of an inch of ice Kentucky and Benton and Cadiz quarter of an inch or more Benton got point three eight Mississippi all the way down there Nesbitt four miles northwest of there. Three tenths of an inch Missouri pressed in a quarter of an inch St Charles point one five inches. Ohio strat there is a quarter of an inch Oklahoma tahina, half an inch hand no BIA point three eight Finley a quarter of an inch and same with Hugo, Texas, Texas. This is Texas got hit the hardest. It looks like Mason, Texas three quarters of an inch of freezing rain yula a quarter of an inch junction a quarter of an inch and then the other places are less than a quarter of an inch which falls a 10th of an inch. I'm just gonna read this paragraph here additional freezing sleet and snow accumulations are expected across the southern plains lower middle Mississippi Valley and into the Ohio and Tennessee Valley to tonight, with a few additional inches of snow and a swath of impact from potentially damaging freezing rain accumulations of a quarter of an inch to half an inch or locally higher forecast just to the south of the snow axis as the front continues to slowly track eastward snow and ice potential increase across the northern Mid Atlantic and northeast today and tonight before ending later tomorrow. snow totals for the interior northeast are likely to exceed a foot while freezing rain accumulations of over a 10th of an inch and locally exceeding a quarter of an inch should stretch from much of Pennsylvania and southern parts of New York and New England. The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction Center at nine o'clock pm tonight. And that's what it is written over here. So we have I wonder if there is any city again that was in the bullseye for both systems. It doesn't seem like there is or there was we'll find out more tomorrow. But despite the fact that there wasn't no such city, we still managed to get some areas that got more than a foot of snow. Even just from wave number one, as pointed out earlier, was in Illinois, Macomb 14.5 Lewiston, 14.4 Bluff springs 12.6, Peoria point okay 2.1. We mentioned all these things. I want to point out one other thing this was brought up actually a couple of days ago, that for some areas this is especially true in Indiana. The beginning part of the storm actually took place some temperatures were above freezing and grounds were also wet. Therefore some of the snow I think it was actually the St. Louis National Weather Service that pointed this out. Some of the snow actually melted by the time this warm liberals were taking some of that snow already melted. So even though you had recorded officially in the book, let's say for a place like South Bend, you have 10.3 inches. Okay. Someone Someone told me it looks more like eight inches. So it could be that there was a couple inches that have melted through the process. I don't think in Chicago we had any of that. I think all of it whatever was recorded stayed. By the time the morning came already temperatures were well below 32. And the snow is falling quite heavily. But when you go over into Indiana, those places where they were in the transition zone between rain and snow and I think the amount of snow that is actually seen and what people are actually experiencing are a couple inches less than what the official totals are. Everybody, I wish you a great day. Thank you for listening, stay safe and enjoy the snow for those places that are getting it and in regards to the ice. Ice is a serious Sakana and people just be careful. You know people down south are more familiar with these ice storms than up here. In Chicago. In this episode the AZ ROC Talk team interviews Michelle Walker, the Immediate Past Chairperson for the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention. CIASP The Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention (CIASP) was born out of necessity in response to a statistics released in a CDC study ranking construction as the #1 industry for deaths by suicide. Established by the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) in 2016 to shatter the stigma surrounding mental health issues, CIASP became a stand alone 501(c)(3) organization in 2018 to raise awareness about suicide prevention and provide resources and tools to create a zero suicide industry by uniting and supporting the construction community. With a suicide rate that is four times greater than the national average, the construction industry is facing a crisis. Construction workers are at a heightened risk for suicide for a variety of reasons that can all be addressed – starting with changing the culture in the workplace. CIASP is dedicated to changing the statistics by educating and equipping organizations, industry service providers and construction professionals to STAND Up for suicide prevention and address it as a health and safety priority.

Jam Logs, the Podcast of The 1937 Flood

Eighteen years ago this month, our late fiddler Joe Dobbs brought a young woman to a rehearsal to meet the band. The plan was to work out just a couple of tunes for her to sing with us at a gig we would be playing that weekend at Snowshoe Resort in the mountains of West Virginia's Pocahontas County. Now, needless to say, we all fell in love with Michelle — she was Michelle Walker in those days, later to be Michelle Lewis —and that one evening led to a rich musical life together. Now, right now these are very busy days for Lady Michelle — she's packing up to move away to join her fiancé, Rich, who lives in Loveland, Ohio, just northeast of Cincinnati. But recently she made time to join us at Doug Chaffin's house for an evening of reminiscing on all her favorite songs from over the years. Here's a highlight of that night.

She just ran her 200th marathon. This 51-year-old mom of 6 is the latest guest on the Run The Race podcast, which we hope you subscribe to! After hearing me sing a WV favorite for the new segment "Stuck in My Head," (3:30) check out my brief race recap for the unique Hatfield McCoy Marathon in Kentucky and West Virginia, which included climbing 3600 feet of mountains/hills, my toughest road marathon and slowest so far. (8:00) At that race, I met Michelle Walker of Indiana, who has 3 sons and 3 daughters, and has run a 26.2 mile race now 200 times in the last 15 years, completing a marathon in all 50 states and 7 continents. Impressive! Later in the episode, we hear how close she was when the bombs went off at the Boston Marathon (10:40) Why does she run so much? (13:27) And how has running changed her life and motherhood? Michelle has 3 key pieces of advice for other runners you'll want to hear. (18:15) Juggling running with life is hard enough, but has wisdom for parents about how she does it with kids that are now ages 12-26. Marathons have become sort of a family affair. (26:41) Michelle also tells stories about traveling the USA and world, giving us some of her favorite places and races! And it's not cheap. (33:20) Faith in God is also the most important thing in this mom's life. She opens up about how that's connected to her family and her running, especially how she incorporates it during those last 6 miles of every marathon. (37:07) She also describes what it was like crossing the finish line at the 2013 Boston Marathon, just 20 minutes before the bombing there. (40:43) Getting faster continues to be her goal. Michelle gives some keys for speed. (46:29) She's also an author hoping to inspire others, releasing a book in 2017 titled "If You Give a Mom a Marathon: Six Kids and a Run Around the World." Check it out. (48:13) We wrap up our chat with her future goals, including 5 full Ironmans this year. (54:15) Our "Parting Gift" is mom-inspired from the Bible and I give a closing Prayer. Thanks for listening! And tell your friends about the #RunTheRace podcast. Also, write a quick review about it. For more info, go to www.wtvm.com/podcast/.

Empower by Example - Episode 8   Michelle Walker, Walker Philanthropic Consulting, https://www.walkerphilanthropic.com   Awareness Excitement Engagement   Michelle and I recap the articles, conferences, films and studies have come out regarding implicit bias and gender equity since we last spoke.  We also give listeners some background information about how the mission of The Rock Family Foundation was determined, and how we hear the same question over and over:   Why girls???   Specifically, why young women of color, and why these specific transition points, county placements and referrals?  From foster care to juvenile justice - how can we empower these girls to transition to a sustainable life?   Let’s dive in!   There has been a big buzz in October 2019 around gender equity.  From Melinda Gates to a study by the Women’s Philanthropy Institute, we are finding that women and girls are funded as an afterthought. 1.6% of philanthropic contributions in the US goes to women and girls specific programs.  $338 Billion total contributions, $6.3 Billion total for women and girls.   We discuss what we can all be doing to support gender and racial equity in our day to day lives.  Michelle speaks to what needs to change in the philanthropic communities in order to further racial and gender equity.  We should consider who holds the power, what systems are we working in, and how can we highlight these inequities in the actual work.  How do more women and more women of color find themselves at the table, or how they can set their own table?  How can we begin the work that you know needs to be done.  How can we change the systems?  Can we change the rules or replace the rule makers?   We hope that we gave you a lot to think about, from statistics and percentages, to ways you can make change right where you are today.  Join us in the Empower by Example Facebook group to continue the discussion and share you ideas and tips with a network of people who are making the moves and changing the systems each day.     Links to learn more: White Privilege Conference: https://www.whiteprivilegeconference.com   You can check out highlights of the 2019 Black Girls Equity Alliance Equity  Summit here: https://pitt.hosted.panopto.com/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=2cdc57eb-bcbb-463d-89fe-aad500d5488d&fbclid=IwAR3xCcOXlqjr-rL3e7ZapHTN8iPPH-wfW0ofUMUOsQ4iGiTcCQjb0QJYmpE   Link to Melinda Gates article:https://time.com/5690596/melinda-gates-empowering-women/   Information about the 1.6% statistic: https://www.philanthropy.com/article/Charities-Dedicated-to-Women/247273   Link to black owned businesses in Pittsburgh https://cocoapreneur.com Ways to support gender equity https://www.evoke.org/articles/october-2019/big-ideas/how-to-support-gender-equality-in-america?utm_source=FB&utm_medium=MG_OG&utm_campaign=EV_OCT&utm_content=10419_POST_&linkId=74762401&fbclid=IwAR2Qfc2mu4pmV76eMD86shLeaqhIaAEZhejv23XkMDy_eMfp5yctVOQt6ds   Systems change expert article: http://donellameadows.org/wp-content/userfiles/Leverage_Points.pdf   Pushot: The Criminalization of Black Girls https://www.moniquewmorris.me/documentary   Empower by Example Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/611787169312502/   Heather Hopson at Motormouth Multimedia: https://motormouthmultimedia.com/our-team/

We love this! The delivery of the album - the big gift for your partner - is an event in itself! Chloe plans to give her fiance the naughty album on the morning of the wedding, and they plan on capturing the moment with the wedding videographer. Lasting memories for all! During a boudoir shoot, the photographer directs the poses precisely. The art of reveal is a big part of the experience. Shadows, angles, and lighting are the keys to feeling confident, beautiful and SEXY! We suggest you jump into this with a photographer you trust implicitly, of course. Chloe talks about how on your wedding day, you want to feel beautiful and sexy, and how your photographer helps you feel that way. An engagement shoot is great to get comfortable and practice as a ‘model', and a boudoir shoot is a fast track to feeling confident and comfortable with your photographer for the wedding day. Plus, it's practice figuring out what makes you feel great. On another note, Chloe is planning her destination wedding in Mexico and she has a Bay Area planner hired to help her with everything. She ALSO has a travel agent and highly suggests having both on your wedding planning team. Good advice. Links we referenced Chloe Jackman, Bride, Model and Wedding Photographer! Boudoir shoots...what are they? Who does them? Why?? In this episode, Michelle goes ‘behind the scenes' and hangs out with photographer Michelle Walker and bride Chloe as Chloe bares all (or most) for a sexy, fun boudoir shoot. Chloe shares why she is doing this, and what she is looking forward to...the experience itself is fun and empowering, and the photos will be put together in a special album for her future husband. Big Takeaways Boudoir shoots are as much - if not more - for the woman taking the photos, as they are for the partner who receives the gift. Michelle Walker made it easy on us for this episode - she came with a detailed outline of what she wanted to talk about. A top 10. Yay! Here are her most important tips for your wedding planning: Top 10 Things Wedding Photographers Want to Say to Clients (but usually don't…) 1) Have a long cocktail hour. 75-90 minutes. So you have time to mingle with your friends and family, and it allows for GREAT candids of the guests. Photographers would much rather shoot candids during this time rather than going to each table during dinner. Who wants pictures of half eaten food in their photos? Also - if you have a lot of family portraits to take after the ceremony, you won't be able to join cocktail hour AT ALL if you have a short cocktail hour. Why miss out on that fun time with your guests? 2) First Looks (REVEALS) are awesome. More private, and you're more in control. (Or your photographer is) And you both look more relaxed during the ceremony. Plus, it can be a really special memory, and some of the only time on the wedding day that you are sort of alone with your partner! 3) Allow at least 2 hours for the photographers to hang out and take photos during Hair and Makeup - the Getting Ready portion of the day. Hair and Makeup artists like to work with amazing light...so often times, these can be the most flattering photos of the day. It's ideal if you can arrange to have a photographer shooting the Getting Ready portion of the day with both partners (typically this means 2 photographers, 2 rooms). 4) Skip the garter and bouquet toss. Or if you decide to do it, embrace the retro vibe! This may be a trend that is coming back...we'll see 5) HIRE A PLANNER. I mean, do we even have to explain this one? We agree, obvi. 6) Hire a professional hair and makeup stylist...it's not that much more expensive and it makes for better photographs. This is a photographer, people! She knows what it's like to retouch shiny faces. Heed her warning! 7) If you can, have your rehearsal dinner 2 nights before your wedding, not the night before. You want to drink, stay up late, catch up with friends...you can't really party with your friends when you know you have to get up at 6am for hair and makeup. I mean, you can, but it's not ideal. 8) Plan a private 10-15 minutes with your photographer...maybe sunset, maybe right after dinner. It's a time to reflect with each other, and it's a time for the photographer to get amazing, intimate photos of you before you go back in and party and it all goes by so fast. You don't even know you want this time until you are actually in the moment. 9) Unplug, y'all! Somewhere along the lines, tell your guests to put their phones away. And to let the photographers do their job. It's a way of reminding everyone how important a wedding day is - and how much you want to just be present with them and enjoy. This is especially important for the ceremony. 10) Buy an album. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Michelle talks about the power of print. We totally agree with her. It's an heirloom - invest! This is especially important for the ceremony. 10) Buy an album. It's not cheap, but it's worth it. Michelle talks about the power of print. We totally agree with her. It's an heirloom - invest! Michelle Walker also offers her advice for hiring your wedding photographer. Tips: get referrals from your planner or venue, narrow it down to 3-5, meet with your options...make sure that you LIKE the photographer you choose. Make sure you trust them and be happy to just let them do their job. When should you hire a wedding photographer? Michelle Walker recommends 9-12 months out. Why is wedding photography SO DAMN EXPENSIVE? Experience costs. Wedding photography is a very specific skill...it's an emotional day. It can't be redone. The photographer should have expensive gear. Also, self employed business people have a ton of additional costs to take on. Keep in mind that every wedding takes around 40 hours in post production, according to Michelle. Basically, there are a lot of costs to doing business. Sometimes, you get what you pay for. Keep that in mind when looking for the perfect wedding photographer for your wedding. Getting all the vital information to the photographer is extremely important. Full timeline. Full list of VIPs, wedding party, family members, all your wedding vendors, your formal portrait shot-list, your special wedding details, and let your photographer know if there is some drama that might come up. If you have a great wedding planner - they'll let the photographer know all of this. PS- make sure you leave a little time in the wedding day for the photographer to eat. The best time is usually when all the guests are eating. Links we referenced Michelle Walker on Instagram Michelle Walker's website Westin St Francis, SF website Sunrise/Sunset calendar that Michelle and Christy use for every timeline Quotes “Having a planner was worth every single penny. My husband and I were guests at our wedding, and that's the way it should be.” - Michelle Walker, wedding photographer “These are all the things we have always wanted to say to you guys, so thank you for giving me the chance!” - Michelle Walker, wedding photographer “The two of you need to go on a sunset walk with me.” - Michelle Walker, wedding photographer, on the merits of taking a moment on your wedding day “Do an album, they're amazing. The Big Wedding Planning Podcast

Michelle is sick and Christy has a fat lip - but we will carry on! It's been awhile since our podcast has gotten back to it's roots...so to speak. We have been dissecting the WEDDING DAY TIMELINE, in our recent 3 piece mini-series, and Michelle recently interviewed Maria Chang, which was inspirational and insightful. We've just been craving a lighter, chatty chat, and we needed to catch up with each other! So here is what we threw around in this episode: Big Takeaways The Real Housewives...we have decided that house-husband PK is no good. But we love you, Boy George! How are we feeling about our podcast thus far?? Pretty great! How are YOU feeling about our podcast?? Please let us know. We love interacting with our listeners and we will try to answer all your quick questions on twitter and Facebook and beyond! Heck, we may even address your questions on the podcast! Why are we doing the podcast? Because we love talking about weddings and we love talking to each other and one could argue that we both just love talking! And talking about something that we are knowledgeable and passionate about is pretty awesome. Knowing that people are listening and have found our advice helpful...big bonus! We feel grateful and we are having a great time! In this episode, we talk a little about our process, and our progress. Weddings we are working on and networking we are doing: We're busy wedding planners - with Michelle pounding the pavement in the Bay Area (her winter home for now), and with ties to Boston...about to head to Mexico, and Christy doing weddings in Dallas/Fort Worth...we almost have the country covered! Also, we talk about how Open Houses can be really helpful with your wedding planning. Here's whats coming up: Michelle's interview with Michelle Walker, wedding photographer Michelle's interview with Nancy Liu Chin, florist Michelle's interview with Kathy Newby, Abbey Party Rentals SF Christy's interview with Becca Ashmon, BA Beauty, Makeup Artist Michelle's interview with DJ Company Denon and Doyle Wedding Planner Funny Stories Hair and Makeup Timeline - hints and necessities Wedding DIYs...what works, what doesn't Breaking down the Wedding Day Setup List Social Media - Ah! Let's discuss. Black Tie vs Black Tie Optional Links we referenced Our website! All that stuff for one day.” Christy, on setting up. It's a spectrum. “Open Houses can be a really great way for couples to get to know a bunch of vendors at one time. And not just go to a table and pick up a business card, but also to talk to the person that's there, like really get to know them a little bit. It's a unique opportunity in two hours to get to know 20 vendors and then maybe you hire someone that you met that night.” Christy, on the virtues of a venue Open House - a ‘live preferred vendor list' “You're like the kid who transferred schools as a freshman and then came back as a senior and now you're like, I'm back Bitches!
