Metal ist geil! Egal was, egal wer! Diese Aussage klingt pauschalisierend und ist es natürlich auch. Sie drückt aber auch ein Gefühl der Euphorie aus, dass uns in Momenten des Glücks überfallen kann. Wir reden eigentlich immer nur über die Alben des Jahres, alle anderen Release-Formen fallen dabei unter den Tisch. Insbesondere die EP ist dabei ein komischer Fall. Denn sie bietet meist frische Musik und ist manchmal nur wenige Minuten kürzer als andere Releases, die schon als Alben durchgehen. Allerdings ist es selbst bei der Spielzeit schwer eine Grenze zu ziehen und auch die Song-Anzahl muss kein sicheres Indiz für das vorliegende Format sein.
