This week on the podcast I am joined by Julia Blackwell. Julia is a fascia release practitioner, educator, and creator of The Fascia Remedy. Julia was born with severe nerve damage to her right shoulder and grew up going through the broken Western medicine system. After 23 years of being told her condition would never improve and feeling no lasting relief from any treatments, she was introduced to a unique type of fascia release bodywork. In just 3 months of this fascia specific work, she saw more improvement in the feel and function of her arm than she had in 16 years of traditional treatments. This experience catapulted Julia into learning everything she could about fascia, the critical roles it plays in our movement and overall health, and how to restore it. After learning multiple modalities and working with clients over a decade, she's formulated her own approach for bodywork & foam rolling work called The Fascia Remedy. On this episode we walk about what unhealthy vs. healthy fascia feels like, the benefits of releasing fascia, and how to release fascia at home. We also discuss how unhealthy and tight fascia relate to past trauma, how other dis-eases and issues in our bodies might be related to our fascia, reducing pain in our bodies, and so much more! Earlier this month I had the privilege of starting the new year at Organika, one of the top health supplement companies in the world, talking with their team about positivity and purpose as we enter 2021. Organika was started right here in Richmond in 1990 and over the years has grown through a commitment to being a world-class leader in supplement products, company culture and giving back to their community. I recorded the presentation, Starting the New Year With Purpose, to share with our listeners. I hope you'll tune in as I open up about my inspiration, my late mother Devi, and share some of the lessons she taught me that have shaped the mindset I have today. I also present 5 steps to staying positive and 6 steps to driving productivity, both of which are more important than ever due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In conclusion I gave the Organika team a link to our worksheet, Reflect Before You Project. I hope you'll find some inspiration and guidance in this presentation and choose to start your new year with purpose.Show notes:0:33 - Intro1:20 - Purpose Smoothie Co1:33 - My Inspiration, My Mom, Devi Ralla5:46 - Positivity Is A Choice8:51 - You Are The CEO Of Your Life.
Was ist möglich?
