On Monday President Trump and the U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. held a press conference in which they made extraordinary new claims about autism. They suggested a potential link between the use of Tylenol during pregnancy and the development of autism. They also advocated spacing out childhood vaccinations. The two men's interest in the link between vaccines and autism goes back decades but these claims did not originate in the US. They trace back to the UK in 1998, when disgraced former doctor Andrew Wakefield first published his now-debunked theory linking MMR vaccines to autism cases in children. Today on the Global Story science journalist Adam Rutherford explains how the Wakefield vaccine conspiracy became the biggest medical disinformation disaster in recent history, and how these ideas found fertile ground in the Trump administration. Every weekday, this is The Global Story. The world is changing. Decisions made in the US and by the second Trump administration are accelerating that change. But they are also a symptom of it. With Asma Khalid in DC, Tristan Redman in London, and the backing of the BBC's international newsroom, The Global Story brings clarity to politics, business and foreign policy in a time of connection and disruption. In the past month, the Trump administration has ordered a trio of military attacks against boats suspected to be transporting drugs from South America to the U.S. However, little information has been released about the people who were killed and whether there were actually any drugs aboard. And some Pentagon officials have raised concerns about the legality of these strikes. WSJ national security reporter Vera Bergengruen and legal correspondent Jess Bravin explore how Washington's approach to combating drug smuggling has changed and the potential pitfalls of these strikes. After President Donald Trump announced that the Department of Health and Human Services was recommending women abstain from taking Tylenol during pregnancy, some women with “Trump derangement syndrome” began taking the drug in videos shared to social media. “There is mounting evidence finding a connection between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and autism — and that's why the Administration is courageously issuing this new health guidance,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said following the president's announcement. Now, some pregnant women are ending up in the hospital after overdosing on Tylenol while, in defiance of Trump, aiming to prove that the drug is safe to take during pregnancy. On this week's edition of “Problematic Women,” we discuss the Trump administration's “autism announcement" and what the Tylenol brand itslef has said about taking the drug while pregnant. Plus, we dig into ABC's decision to bring Jimmy Kimmel back to the airwaves following his misleading comments over Charlie Kirk's assassination. And Sage Steele, former ESPN anchor, sits down with Crystal Bonham for an exclusive interview to discuss the future of Turning Point USA and the courage of Erika Kirk. Enjoy the show! The United States continues to be roiled by political violence, with the recent shooting at an ICEfacility in Dallas coming hot on the heels of the assassination of Charlie Kirk and a schoolshooting in Colorado committed by a neo-Nazi. Some of the best reporting on these events hasbeen done by Ken Klippenstein for his Substack. I spoke with Ken about what he's discoveredwhen he interviewed those who knew the alleged shooters, how his findings go against thesimplistic partisan interpretations offered by both the left and right, as well as the dangerousways the Trump administration is using the shootings for a crackdown on civil liberties. Our Sponsors:* Check out BetterHelp: https://betterhelp.com/THENATIONAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

The US says it will revoke the visa of Colombia's President Gustavo Petro, accusing him of inciting violence by encouraging American soldiers to disobey orders. When addressing a pro-Palestinian protest in New York, he suggested they should ignore the orders of Donald Trump, and obey the orders of humanity instead. Mr Petro was returning to Bogota when the move was announced. On arrival, he tweeted that he no longer had a US visa and did not care - adding that he considers himself a "free person in the world." On Monday, Pres. Trump & RFK revealed the FDA will notify doctors that using Tylenol (acetaminophen) during pregnancy is connected to a “very increased risk of autism.” Epidemiologist Nicolas Hulscher says it's one of “the most explosive developments yet in the autism debate.” However, Hulscher also warns that in studies linking Tylenol to autism “none account for vaccination — even though vaccine-induced fevers are a primary reason Tylenol is taken. However, because Tylenol depletes glutathione — the body's primary detoxification system — it may serve as an amplifier in the pathway to developmental regression.” Experts recommend limiting Tylenol use during pregnancy unless medically necessary, as a fever can be dangerous to both the mother and the child, and the risk/reward of any treatment should be discussed with a physician. Send us a textWe weren't planning to spend a third straight week discussing Charlie Kirk and the issues surrounding his assassination, but after watching his memorial service this past Sunday, it became clear that there is more to consider. The memorial service was something I've never seen. From the scale of the event (nearly 200,000 in attendance at two adjoining stadiums and an estimated viewing audience of 100M) to the notable attendees (President Trump and most of his cabinet) to above all, the proclamation of the gospel over and over again by many of the speakers. The service was truly remarkable and worthy of our rejoicing.TPUSA, the organization Charlie Kirk founded and led, has the video of the entire service on their YouTube page and I recommend you watch it. The first three-and-half-hours was a music concert as attendees filed in. The final four-and-a-half hours featured speaker after speaker. The climactic message was not the final one given by President Trump but rather the penultimate by Charlie Kirk's widow, Erika. Considering the unimaginable grief of having her husband shot and killed in public 11 days earlier, considering the worldwide magnitude of the event, the content of her message and the manner in which she delivered it was one of the most impactful speeches I have ever seen. We'll play some of her message in the final segment today. Before we get to that, we'll discuss the remarkable nature of this event and how God has truly worked something good and great through the assassination of Charlie Kirk. We'll also discuss how transformative movements like this need secure boundaries lest they compromise the Word and misrepresent God.
The indictment of former FBI director James Comey, which President Donald Trump demanded on social media, comes amid threats of more prosecutorial action. Critics say it could have a chilling effect across government. Mr. Trump says he is seeking justice, not revenge. Is it moral to pray for RFK JR. to die from a disease after refusing to get the vaccine that could have saved him? You have questions, I have answers. If sex for fun is a sin what will Heaven look like? I have an audio answer. If the internet told you you can fix your own lawn mower and you lost two fingers and a toe can you sue? If you give someone the finger in traffic before they can even beep at you have you cloaked yourself in a shield of invulnerability which precludes your being guilty of anything? Has Donald trump ruined golf? I describe the worst ever behavior I have seen on a golf course and a listener wonders why he was called a Libtard by a group playing ahead of him. And I once again extend the musical hand of friendship across our political and cultural divide with my new modern country song "Oh, Brother Why?" It could be a hit or at least work in a truck commercial. Could I have a new career as a country artist? You decide. Subscribe and THRIVE!!!!!!!!!
