New Money Making Conversations episodes drop daily. I want to alert you, so you don’t miss out on expert analysis and insider perspectives from my guests who provide tips that can help you uplift the community, improve your financial planning, motivation, or advice on how to be a successful entrepreneur. Keep winning! Two-time Emmy and Three-time NAACP Image Award-winning, television Executive Producer Rushion McDonald interviewed Monica Cornitcher. Entrepreneurial journey, the inspiration behind Medase Cocktails, and the realities of launching, funding, and scaling a premium nonalcoholic spirits brand in a highly competitive market. Purpose of the Conversation The purpose of the episode is to: Educate aspiring entrepreneurs on how to build a differentiated consumer brand Demonstrate the importance of storytelling, market clarity, and operational discipline Highlight the growth of the nonalcoholic / zero‑proof beverage movement Inspire founders—especially founders of color—to own their niche, seek capital strategically, and scale intentionally. Key Takeaways 1. Business Built from Personal Need and Purpose Medase Cocktails was co‑founded by Monica and her lifelong friend during her friend’s battle with breast cancer, a time when alcohol was no longer an option—but celebration still mattered. The brand was created to allow people to celebrate authentically without alcohol It carries emotional depth rooted in friendship, gratitude, and loss Monica continues the mission after her co‑founder passed away in 2024 Lesson: Purpose-driven businesses create deeper emotional connection and long-term brand equity. 2. Differentiation Is Everything Monica deliberately rejected the “sparkling water with flavor” model common in nonalcoholic drinks. Her differentiators include: Authentic cocktail taste (Old Fashioned, Margarita, Moscow Mule) Organic juices, not artificial flavors Bold packaging that stands out on shelves Drinks designed to smell, taste, and feel like real cocktails Lesson: Competing on authenticity—not cost—is how you carve out market share in crowded spaces. 3. Brand Names and Stories Matter The name “Medase” means “thank you” and reflects gratitude, friendship, and emotional support. Monica emphasizes: Every flavor name, color, and product decision has a story A strong brand narrative creates curiosity, loyalty, and investor interest Lesson: People invest in brands they feel—emotionally, not just intellectually. 4. Venture Capital Is Not Just About Numbers While financials matter, Monica stresses that VCs also invest in founders and stories. What helped her secure venture capital: A compelling personal story Relevant founder skill sets (M&A, law, operations) Clear understanding of the market opportunity Lesson: Early-stage funding often depends on who you are and why you’re building, not just revenue. 5. Research, Planning, and Discipline Before Launch Unlike many food startups, Medase did not begin in a kitchen. They: Conducted a feasibility study Built a formal business plan Worked with a Black female food scientist Set strict personal funding limits before seeking capital Lesson: Preparation reduces risk and builds long-term sustainability. 6. Scaling Requires Operational Maturity As sales increased—especially on Amazon—Monica emphasized the need to move from “hustle mode” to operational excellence. Key scaling principles: Understand unit economics Track ROI for events and activations Adjust pricing as volume increases Build strategy across marketing, operations, and distribution Lesson: Hustle starts the business; operations grow it. 7. Niche First, Expansion Later Medase does not try to be “everything to everyone.” Core customers include: People seeking a break from alcohol Health-conscious consumers Black men looking for alcohol replacements Consumers wanting cocktail taste without hangovers Lesson: Strong niches create loyal advocates who fuel organic growth. 8. Smart Distribution Strategy Rather than rushing into retail, Monica prioritized direct-to-consumer channels: Amazon (top-performing channel) Brand website TikTok Shop Only after 6–7 months of traction did retail expansion become viable. Lesson: Control your margins and demand before entering expensive retail environments. Memorable Quotes “I wanted an authentic cocktail without compromise.” “Everything we do has a story behind it.” “Sometimes it’s not about the financials—it’s about the founder and the story.” “Don’t be everything to everybody. Find your market and stick with your market.” “Hustle starts the business, but operations give you scale.” “If it tastes too much like alcohol and you gave me a one-star review—thank you. That means I did my job.” Overall Message This episode is a real-world entrepreneurial blueprint showing how clarity of vision, emotional authenticity, disciplined planning, and niche focus can turn a personal idea into a scalable national brand. Monica Cornitcher exemplifies the modern founder:visionary, data-aware, emotionally intelligent, and unapologetically authentic. #SHMS #BEST #STRAW #AMISee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
A screaming, fist-swinging baby who wants the whole world to know he's unhappy — it's a picture that's easy to laugh at, until we recognize ourselves in it. In this honest and relatable episode, Vivian Bricker reflects on how many of us feel that same urge to cry, kick, and lash out — and how the fruit of self-control is one of the hardest, most necessary gifts the Holy Spirit grows in us. From childhood tantrums to adult struggles with anger, impulse spending, peer pressure, and addiction, the battle for self-control is one every believer knows well. Vivian shares the story of a friend whose struggle to say "no" to alcohol grew quietly and steadily until it became something he could no longer manage on his own — and whose eventual freedom came not through willpower, but through the work of God and the Holy Spirit's cultivation of egkrateia: Spirit-enabled mastery over desires, impulses, and habits so that they serve rather than rule us. That same Spirit is available to every one of us today. Self-control is the last fruit listed in Galatians 5:22-23 — but it may be the one we need to pray for most urgently. The road is long, but God walks every step of it with us. Today's Bible Verse "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." — Galatians 5:22-23, NIV Ponder Today Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit, not a product of willpower. You cannot manufacture it through discipline alone. It is cultivated by the Holy Spirit working in and through you — which means the starting point is always surrender, not striving. The Greek word egkrateia reframes everything. Self-control is not white-knuckled restraint — it is Spirit-enabled mastery of desires, impulses, and habits so that they serve rather than rule you. That changes how we pray for it. Walking in the flesh leaves us empty; walking in the Spirit brings life. Whatever area of self-control you're struggling with today, the path toward freedom runs through the Holy Spirit — not around Him. A Prayer for You Today Dear Holy Spirit, I confess that I do not do well with self-control. I get angry over small things, give in to impulses, and struggle to master the desires of the flesh. Please help me begin cultivating self-control today. Bless me with the ability to have mastery over my desires, impulses, and habits. The only thing that truly brings me joy is walking in alignment with You — and I trust that You can produce in me what I cannot produce in myself. In Jesus' name, Amen. "You can't pour from an empty cup." It's a phrase that floods social media feeds and self-care conversations — and on the surface, it sounds reasonable. But in this episode, Emily Rose Massey gently but boldly challenges the ideology beneath it. Because if we wait until our cup is perfectly full before we give to others, we may wait forever — and miss the profound, counter-cultural beauty of a life lived in total dependence on God's grace. The Christian life, as modeled by Jesus Himself, is not one of self-preservation first. It is one of sacrifice, selflessness, and humility. Philippians 2:3-4 calls us to regard others as more important than ourselves — not from a place of overflow, but from a place of surrender. Jesus didn't wait until conditions were ideal. He stepped down from a heavenly throne, emptied Himself, took the form of a servant, and gave everything. Emily invites us to ask a searching question: what do we reach for when we feel like we're running on empty? The world offers endless distractions and temporary fixes — but God may be inviting us to something better. When we come to the end of our own strength, His strength can finally shine through. And an empty cup, offered to God in humility, may be exactly what He uses to fill others and conform us into the image of Christ. Today's Bible Verse "Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others." — Philippians 2:3-4, NASB Ponder Today The Christian life is one of sacrifice, not self-preservation. Jesus is our model — and He did not wait until He was "full" before giving. He emptied Himself completely, and in doing so, showed us the way of true humility. Weakness is not a barrier to serving others — it is an invitation to depend on God. When we reach the end of our own strength, His strength has room to shine. Our limitations are not obstacles to His work; they are the very conditions He works through (2 Corinthians 12:9). What you reach for when you're running on empty reveals what you truly trust. Worldly distractions and temporary fixes will never truly fill you. God wants to be your first stop, not your last resort. Vulnerability with others is an act of love, not weakness. Isolating ourselves when we're struggling robs the Body of Christ of the opportunity to serve us — and us of the opportunity to experience God's grace through community. God gives grace to the humble. When we stop striving to fill our own cup and bow before Him in our emptiness, He meets us there — with the grace, strength, and renewal we could never manufacture on our own (James 4:6). A Prayer for You Today Heavenly Father, there are so many days when I feel drained and weak — but I'm learning that is exactly where You want me, so I can fully rely on Your strength and not my own. You don't call me to grit my teeth and bear it. You call me to live by the power of Your Spirit, who empowers me to walk in obedience and humility. Thank You for showing me what great sacrifice looks like. Christ laid down His life for me — may I live to lay down my life for Him by serving others and preferring others above myself. In Jesus' name, Amen. Don't Miss an Episode If today's prayer shifted your perspective from self-reliance to surrender, we'd love to stay connected. In the film Where the Wild Things Are, a boy in a wolf suit discovers what most of us already know but rarely say out loud: loving others is hard. The wild things wanted a king who could keep them together and shield them from sadness — but no king, no matter how great, can do that. And neither can we. In this beautifully crafted episode, Sophia Bricker weaves together film, literature, Scripture, and raw honesty to name something we all experience but often feel guilty admitting — that love, in all its forms, is messy, costly, and sometimes feels beyond us. C.S. Lewis wrote that to love at all is to be vulnerable — that a heart given to anyone will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. Yet Jesus, who knew this better than anyone, chose to love anyway. He gave up divine privilege, took on human flesh, and died a criminal's death — not because it was easy, but because love requires sacrifice. Paul's instruction to the Philippians was simple and staggering all at once: have the same mindset as Christ in your relationships. That kind of love — wildly generous, sacrificial, seeking the good of others above our own — is not natural to us. But it is possible. Not through sheer willpower, but through the transforming work of the Holy Spirit in us, mirroring back the love we have already received from the nail-scarred hands of God. Today's Bible Verse "Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on a cross." — Philippians 2:6-8, NLT Ponder Today Loving others is hard — and admitting that is not a failure of faith. Every family, friendship, and community experiences conflict, hurt, and misunderstanding. Acknowledging the difficulty of love is the first honest step toward growing in it. To love is to be vulnerable. As C.S. Lewis reminds us, a heart kept safely away from others is a heart that never truly loves. The risk of being hurt is not a reason to withhold love — it is the very nature of it. Jesus is the ultimate model of sacrificial love. He did not cling to comfort or divine privilege. He entered our mess, bore our sin, and loved us at great personal cost. That is the standard — and the Spirit in us makes it possible. We are not more deserving of love than those we struggle to love. As Sophia asks so pointedly — are we not equally guilty of breaking a heart or speaking a careless word? Remembering our own need for grace softens us toward others who need it too. A Prayer for You Today Savior, I am amazed by Your choice to enter this broken world, taking the curse of sin upon Yourself to save all people. Who am I that I should receive such love? Yet I confess that I struggle to love those around me — people with pasts and flaws not so different from my own. Work in me to produce the fruit of sacrificial, wildly generous love that seeks nothing other than to reflect what You have given me. Produce in me by Your Spirit a new way of life marked by grace and mercy — and the courage to love, even when it's hard. In Your name, Jesus, Amen. Sacred Lessons: Masculinity, AI, and the Great Law of Peace (with Mike de la Rocha) What if the story we inherited — that being a man, or a nation, means holding it all together alone — is exactly backwards? Recorded live at the BOOST Conference in Baratunde's adopted hometown of Palm Springs, this is his conversation with Mike de la Rocha on Mike's podcast Sacred Lessons. They get into masculinity and America's founding story, the doctrine that justified conquest, and the much older democratic wisdom that was already here: the Haudenosaunee Great Law of Peace, and what changes when you put peace, care, and women at the center of how we govern ourselves. Then they follow it into the present: broken men in power, the men building our AI, and whether this technology pulls us apart or finally forces us to reconnect. Part of your armor against the ploys of the enemy is a bulletproof vest for your heart. If Satan can twist your heart, if he can harden your heart, if he can damage your heart, then he renders you ineffective. Nobody looks at a cynical, irritable, negative, grouchy Christian and says, ‘wow, I gotta have what she has.' Yip – ineffective! Zero impact for Jesus. Saved but not set apart for good works. For these reasons you are given the breastplate of righteousness, the bulletproof vest for your heart. If you feel righteous, there's a problem. You're not. There's nothing you could ever do to make yourself clean enough, good enough, or holy enough to be considered righteous in our perfect God's sight. And this is exactly why Jesus was required. Only he could make you righteous. His righteousness is imparted to you. His name is stamped on your account of debts and you're forever marked as “GOOD ENOUGH”. Not because of what you've done, but because of what Jesus did for you. Righteous – this means to be free from guilt or sin. Not without guilt or sin, but free from it. No longer bound by it. No longer in debt to it. No longer victim to it, but FREE from it. And the righteousness of Jesus has now empowered you to live better. Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:14, “Put on the breastplate of righteousness.” Other translations call it the “body armor of God's righteousness” or “God's approval as your breastplate.” TPT says, “Put on holiness as the protective armor that covers your heart.” Here's what we know – without this right standing, without God's approval, our most vital organs are completely vulnerable. The chest shot is the easiest shot and without God's covering, we will go down in the battle against our enemy. God did for us what we could never do for ourselves. No amount of good works, no amount of changed habits, no amount of perfectly met goals, nothing we could possibly do would make us righteous. “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”, Romans 3:23. That includes you on your worst days and you on your best days. So here's what God did – he stepped in and bridged the gap where we fell short of his glory. He bridged that gap with a cross. A literal cross where Jesus hung – and that cross allows us to cross over from forever not good enough no matter what we do, to forever good enough because of what was done for us. When you wear that as your bulletproof vest, the flaming arrows of the enemy just bounce right off. Oh, he'll still shoot them out you, but ping ping ping, they just bounce. Your heart is untouched when you fully know the stamp of Christ's full approval on you. But … there's one little problem. The devil and his demons know full well how unworthy of this bulletproof vest of righteousness you feel when you aren't living right. It's hard to put on our divinely given righteousness when deep down we know darn good and well we're not living right. When we engage in sin, we open the door for the devil to have influence in our lives. You don't even have to open the door fully to him, but a little crack will do. A little dabble in that sin. A borderline gray area that no one knows about. Even that crack in the door will give him an opportunity. Ephesians 4:27 says, “give NO opportunity to the devil.” About 2 years ago, I began praying that God would reveal to me any part of my life that was not pleasing to him. Well that was dangerous and I didn't even know it. Suddenly the Holy Spirit started revealing all my little cracked doors to the enemy. But these were really fun things. Things I enjoyed. Things that made me happy. Things I wrestled to understand how they could be wrong. After wrestling and reasoning for months, I finally began to release these things and make changes. And let me tell you what happened – it's like the lid was taken off! I was free like never before. Blessings upon blessings. Now I wonder why I waited so long to trust God with those doors that needed to be closed. The devil had access to my heart through the little cracks I had left open, doing things God had asked me not to do. When I finally partnered with God and slammed those doors, my heart was once again fully protected with the righteousness Jesus offers. Here's the truth – the devil can't take your righteousness from you, but he sure will offer you temptations to enter into a life that is so far from God's way of living that you just dismiss yourself. When you know you're living in wrong ways, it's almost impossible to keep putting on that breastplate of righteousness. What God has given you as protection becomes a heavy reminder of your unworthiness today because of what you did yesterday. So, guess what … guilt and shame eventually make you leave the breastplate in the corner. It's too painful to put on righteousness when you know you're not living right. And boom – you're vulnerable. Now with your hidden guilt and quiet shame, your heart is left unprotected. The offered righteousness of Jesus lays on the floor as the enemy's fiery darts come flying. No, your righteousness cannot be taken from you. What Jesus did is forever done. But what can happen here is you can feel so terrible about your life that you no longer put on that righteousness. PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. THIS IS PART OF GOD'S DIVINE ARMOR FOR YOU IN THE UNSEEN SPIRITUAL BATTLE. GOD. LOVES. YOU. With full awareness of every single thing you would ever do wrong, every bad choice you would ever make, every failure, every wandering step, he knowingly and willing CHOSE to give his son Jesus for you. He knew it was the only way you could be made right, and he deemed you worthy of that sacrifice. SATAN. HATES. YOU. With full awareness of God's covering of undeserved righteousness over you, Satan continually tries to remove that covering. Let me tell you something, Satan has no power to take the breastplate of righteousness from you but he certainly can convince you into living a life that makes that breastplate feel entirely too heavy to wear. Tricky little sucker will deceive you into picking up guilt and shame instead of righteousness, and wear that over your heart. My human mind cannot understand why God would do this for me. I'm messed up, and wow, I have a really special way of getting things wrong sometimes. But I choose to believe His word concerning me – I choose to believe that I am made righteous through Jesus. That his cross allows me to cross over to the righteousness I fall short of. Over and over again, God helps me when I cannot help myself. On the days when I get it right, I must remember that breastplate of righteousness has absolutely nothing to do with my good works. It was given to me to wear. It protects me from pride. On the days when I get it wrong, I must remember the breastplate of righteousness is still mine. It was given to me to wear. It protects me from guilt and shame. For his girls wearing this breastplate of righteousness, we are called to then live RIGHT. Clean up our lives. We're not given permission to continue living in the ways his Spirit tells us are wrong. That's the beauty of this walk with Jesus – we learn more and more how to live right. And as he lovingly invites us into better living, it's for our greatest benefit to trust him and leave behind our old ways. Continuing in our old ways makes it harder to put on the armor over our hearts, and without that armor, our hearts are left vulnerable. Jesus, I'm not a good guard of my own heart – I need your righteousness to guard this heart of mine. So today, for the one who feels so totally unrighteousness because of your past or present choices, please know the breastplate of Jesus' righteousness is still here for your heart. Bring him your guilt, bring him your shame, bring him your regrets and receive his holy exchange. You, the real you, all of you, forever made righteous. That's everything Satan doesn't want you to know. But when you know, your heart is protected! Is there justice waiting for them on the other side, or something far more surprising, far more humbling, and far more healing than anything a courtroom could ever deliver? Michael welcomes back Suzanne Giesemann, former naval commander, one of the world's most respected evidential mediums, and the author of seventeen books, including her stunning new release Always Connected, for a conversation that covers the full spectrum of what it means to be human, to be hurt, and to finally understand why none of it, not one moment, was ever wasted. From two back-to-back readings with men she can only describe as monsters, to the missing boy found after three years through a dead crow and an X on a log, to the two words - here, open, that pulled her back from the edge of overwhelm, Suzanne delivers the kind of evidence-based, soul-level reassurance that only comes from someone who speaks to the other side every single day. This isn't about psychics getting it wrong. This is about what actually happens when the nervous system drops away, and every soul, without exception, is met by the one thing it never expected: love. Key Topics: What happens to truly evil people the moment they cross the veil, and why being met by unconditional love is, for them, the most shocking and disorienting experience imaginable. The two back-to-back readings that changed everything: the man who said "I was a monster," the man who wasn't yet allowed to speak, and the angelic escorts that functioned, with total love and zero tolerance, like cosmic MPs. Why hell is not a place but a state of consciousness, and what the life review actually feels like for those who caused the most harm (hint: they feel every single thing they made others feel, in full). The Sylvia Browne lesson: why even gifted psychics can get it catastrophically wrong, and the sacred triangle of coherence that separates genuine evidential mediumship from dangerous guesswork. The missing boy, Jack Canton: the dead crow, the rushing river, the painted X on the log, the cairn, and how Suzanne's conversation with a boy in spirit led searchers to bone fragments three years after the Montecito mudslide took him. Why empaths and sensitive souls keep attracting swizzle straws, and the fear-based belief buried beneath every relationship where you couldn't stop caring for someone who was hurting you. The nervous system as filter: why narcissists genuinely cannot feel the pain they cause in a body, and why that filter vanishes the instant they cross the veil, making every wound they ever inflicted instantly, viscerally, undeniably real to them. Hey, Spirit - the napkin that became a book deal over brunch: how Siri, a missing P and T, and a conversation with the VP of Hay House turned into Suzanne's most profound work yet. Returning to base: the two-word practice - here, open, that instantly drops you out of overwhelm and back into pure awareness, no matter how many transparencies have piled up on the overhead projector. What to do when someone you love has Alzheimer's and has gone non-communicative, and why soul-to-soul conversation in meditation may be the most healing gift you can offer them, and yourself. Spirit has never once told Suzanne, "I'm not fine" from the other side. Not once. Not the grief-stricken, not the traumatized, not even the ones who were cocooned and couldn't speak yet. Every single soul, without exception, is held, guided, and moving forward. That includes yours. That includes everyone you've lost. And the moment you stop hoping that's true and start knowing it, the way Suzanne does, is the moment everything changes. Join the Inspire Nation Soul Family!

Many Christians say, "Just preach the gospel—God will do the rest." But Scripture paints a richer picture: the gospel is the power of God for salvation, and God still calls us to reason, explain, and persuade. In this episode, J. Warner Wallace walks through key passages—from Romans and Proverbs to the book of Acts—to show how Jesus' first followers actually shared the message. You'll see why Peter, Paul, and the other apostles worked so hard to contextualize the same unchanging gospel for very different audiences, from devout Jews to skeptical philosophers and hostile officials. J. Warner then turns to our modern, post‑Christian culture and makes the case that wise persuasion and careful "translation" are not optional add‑ons, but part of biblical evangelism. You'll learn why trusting the Spirit and the power of the message should actually motivate you to think harder about your words, your tone, and your starting point in every conversation. One Year Bible Podcast: Join Hunter and Heather Barnes on the Daily Radio Bible, a daily Bible‑in‑a‑year podcast with 20‑minute Scripture readings, Christ‑centered devotion, and guided prayer. This daily Bible reading and devotional invites you to live as a citizen of Jesus' kingdom, reconciled, renewed, and deeply loved. TODAY'S EPISODE: Welcome to the Daily Radio Bible, where we journey together through the pages of Scripture each day. On this June 3rd episode, Hunter guides us through Proverbs 25-27 and Romans 15, reflecting on wisdom, patience, encouragement, and the centrality of Christ in the Christian life. As we read and pray together, we are reminded that the Bible points us not to itself, but to Jesus—the true living Word and source of hope. Join Hunter for insight, encouragement, and a time of prayer as we discover anew how grace takes the pressure off, and how God's love is the motivation for all we do. TODAY'S DEVOTION: The Scriptures teach us and give us hope and encouragement. It's easy for us, as followers of Christ, to misunderstand the role of the Bible in our lives. We can become so enamored with Scripture that we risk turning it into an end in itself, forgetting its primary purpose: to direct our hearts to the living Word, Jesus Christ. The Bible is not the Savior; Jesus is. And as Speaker A points out in Romans 15, "Such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us, and the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled." What is this hope? What is this encouragement that God is giving? Speaker A references back to Romans 14, where Paul reminds us that the kingdom of God is not about arguments over religious practice or culture—what we eat or drink, or even the observance of days—but about a life marked by goodness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. It's so easy to get lost in our religion and miss the point entirely: we can argue and hurt each other over differences, missing the heart of the gospel. The invitation of the kingdom is greater; it's about being transformed, healed, and empowered to serve and love—even our enemies. This kingdom life is about reflecting Christ to the world—a life of loving one another, of patience, of hope, of encouragement, of finding our identity not in religious observance or perfection, but in the abiding presence of God's Spirit within us. The fruit of this life is not fear, not anxiety, not striving to earn favor, but the freedom that comes from grace and the confidence that comes from being God's beloved. Let the Scriptures remind you and teach you that all of this—patience, hope, encouragement, peace—these are gifts from God. The Bible points us to Christ, the source of our courage and confidence. The kingdom is bigger than anything we imagine—a life richer than anything religious practice alone could provide. The best is yet to be revealed. That's a prayer for Speaker A's soul. It's the prayer for his family, his wife, his daughters, his son. And it's the prayer for you: May God give us, this day, hope and encouragement as we fix our eyes on the One who is the source, the One who invites us to live in the joy and freedom of his kingdom life. May it be so. TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. And in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose through Jesus Christ Our Lord amen. Oh God you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth and sent your blessed son to preach peace to those who are far and those who are near. Grant that people everywhere may seek after you, and find you. Bring the nations into your fold, pour out your Spirit on all flesh, and hasten the coming of your kingdom through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen. And now Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love. Where there is injury, pardon. Where there is doubt, faith. Where there is despair, hope. Where there is darkness, light. And where there is sadness, Joy. Oh Lord grant that I might not seek to be consoled as to console. To be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in the giving that we receive, in the pardoning that we are pardoned, it is in the dying that we are born unto eternal life. Amen And now as our Lord has taught us we are bold to pray... Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our tresspasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not unto temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Loving God, we give you thanks for restoring us in your image. And nourishing us with spiritual food, now send us forth as forgiven people, healed and renewed, that we may proclaim your love to the world, and continue in the risen life of Christ. Amen. ACTS 1:1-11 - YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER - BRIAN SUMNER - 2026The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, 2 until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, 3 to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.The Holy Spirit Promised4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”Jesus Ascends to Heaven9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”To support this channel and partner with Brian in Ministryhttps://www.briansumner.net/support/For more on Brianhttp://www.briansumner.nethttps://www.instagram.com/BRIANSUMNER/https://www.facebook.com/BRIANSUMNEROFFICIALTo listen to Brians Podcast, click below.https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Purchase Brians Marriage book at https://www.amazon.com/Never-Fails-Da...Brian is a full time "Urban Missionary" both locally and internationally with a focus on MISSIONS - MARRIAGES - MINISTRY. https://wels2.blob.core.windows.net/daily-devotions/20260603dev.mp3 Listen to Devotion May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14 The Blessing of the Trinity These words in today’s Bible reading often come at the end of a worship service, a quiet blessing spoken as people prepare to go their separate ways. But this is more than a polite closing. It is a powerful reminder of who God is and how he comes to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Notice how each person of the Trinity is described. The Lord Jesus Christ brings grace. That’s not just a nice idea; it’s the undeserved love he showed by giving his life for sinners. His grace means your sins are forgiven, not because you earned it or improved yourself, but because he took your place. In Jesus, grace is not abstract. It is personal, costly, and complete. Then there is the love of God the Father, which is the source of it all. Before you ever knew him, before you ever sought him, he loved you. He planned your salvation, sent his Son, and continues to care for you as his own child. His love is not fickle or uncertain. It is steady, faithful, and eternal. And these blessings become yours through the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit brings you into a relationship with God. He works through the Word to create faith, to strengthen it, and to keep you connected to your Savior. You are not left to figure out your faith on your own. The Spirit is actively at work, drawing you closer to Christ and to one another. This blessing shows you that the triune God is not distant. He is involved. The Father loves you. The Son saves you. The Spirit stays with you. So, these words are not just for the end of a worship service. They are for the beginning of everything that follows. As you go into your week, into your responsibilities, your struggles, and your joys, this blessing goes with you. The grace, the love, and the fellowship of the triune God are not temporary. They are yours, today and always. Prayer: Be with me wherever I go, dear Lord, with all your blessings and kindness. Amen. Daily Devotions is brought to you by WELS. In this episode of our Daughters Series, we unpack the powerful story of Mary and Martha and discover why this familiar Bible story still has so much to teach us. We talk about the tension between doing things for Jesus and simply being with Him, the danger of burnout and performance-based faith, and the beautiful invitation Jesus gives every daughter to sit at His feet. We also explore one of the most moving moments in Scripture—Jesus weeping with Mary after the death of Lazarus—and what it reveals about His heart toward our pain, disappointment, and grief. Finally, we look at Mary's extravagant act of worship and uncover a powerful pattern throughout her life: every time we see Mary, she's found at the feet of Jesus. Whether you're feeling busy, burned out, heartbroken, or simply longing for more of God's presence, we hope this conversation reminds you that the posture of a daughter is always found at the feet of Jesus. Millions of individuals visit Temple Square in Salt Lake City each year. Many are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many others come from around the world to see the 10-acre site of the Salt Lake Temple and other parts of the site that is headquarters to the global Church. The Salt Lake Temple has been undergoing significant renovations since 2019 and is scheduled to host an open house and dedication in 2027. As the grounds around the temple have been refreshed, new sculptures that represent aspects of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the life of Jesus Christ and the Restoration of Jesus Christ’s Church have been placed around the grounds. Two of those sculptures came from the dedicated work of sculptor Michael Hall. “It’s humbling,” Hall said. “How do you depict God? How do you depict God in a way that will help people to feel the Spirit?” Hall joins Church News editor Jon Ryan Jensen to discuss the testimony-refining process of creating sculptures of the Savior’s mortal life and of Joseph Smith’s First Vision.

What is worship, really? Most people say "singing" — but Jesus has a very different answer. This episode is brought to you by our ministry partner Accountable2You. Join thousands living in freedom with nothing to hide, and visit https://accountable2you.com/dialin. Use our unique code DIALIN to get 25% off your first year of an Accountable2You Personal or Family Plan In John 4, Jesus sits down with the last person anyone expected: a Samaritan woman with a broken past. And in that conversation, he gives the clearest definition of worship in all of Scripture — in spirit and in truth. Here's the problem: most churches pick a lane. Some go all-in on the spiritual experience — the emotion, the atmosphere, the "encounter." Others go all-in on doctrine and truth — deep teaching, sound theology, the Word. And both camps look at the other and think they've got it figured out.But Jesus says they're two sides of the same coin.Spirit without truth leads to hysteria. Truth without spirit leads to stoicism — more morgue than a meeting with the living God. Real, biblical worship refuses to separate the two.In this episode we unpack:✅ Why worship is far more than a song✅ What "spirit" and "truth" actually mean — and why you need both✅ How superficial teaching always produces superficial worship✅ How the most rejected woman in the story became the first evangelist✅ What God actually thinks about your worship
What if the Old Testament prophets weren't just messengers who received words from God, but participants in His heavenly court? That's the proposal Dr. Michael Heiser put forth in his works on the divine council. The Remnant Radio explores this perspective, walks through the texts, and works out what it means for how we think about prophecy today.ABOUT THE EPISODE:Dr. Michael Heiser put forth the interpretative framework that the Old Testament prophets participated in Yahweh's divine council, and access to that court is what distinguished the genuine prophet from the counterfeit. The claim from The Unseen Realm: "True prophets have stood and listened in Yahweh's divine council; false prophets have not." Heiser's proposal focuses on the word sōd, appearing in Jeremiah 23:18 as the sōd YHWH, "the council of Yahweh," and describes what the Hebrew Bible presents as Yahweh's heavenly assembly. Jeremiah deploys it as the credibility test for prophets: the genuine ones have stood in it. The false have not. If that reading is right, the prophetic calling in the Old Testament was more than hearing a message from God. Rather, it was about access to the divine council - admission into the throne room of God. The concept finds support across multiple texts. Amos 3:7 declares that God does nothing without first revealing his counsel to the prophets, and the council scenes throughout the Hebrew Bible show a relationship that is consistently dialogical. Isaiah is caught up into the council of YHWH so that he can give an answer. He doesn't passively receive a scroll. He's present in a scene (seraphim, a throne, a voice asking "Who will go?"), and he responds. This idea matters for the body of Christ right now. The continuationist world is navigating real questions about prophetic legitimacy, accountability, and what it actually means to carry a word from God. Heiser's framework gives us a biblical-theological foundation for those conversations that goes deeper than most of what's currently in circulation. If the sōd YHWH is the dividing line between true and false prophecy in Jeremiah 23, that has implications we haven't fully worked out yet. This episode walks through the key texts and what it means for how we think about the prophetic today.0:00 – Introduction3:05 – Divine Council Overview10:44 – Prophets in the Council14:26 – Adam, Enoch, Noah17:55 – Moses and Prophets20:51 – Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah23:41 – True vs. False Prophets32:46 – New Covenant Implications43:56 – Democratization of the Spirit45:33 – Warning: Heavenly TravelPLAYLIST OF DR. TODAY'S DEVOTION: Attitude is everything if you want to be strengthened and built up. If you want to see that for God's people too, then attitude is really important. Paul says, if you serve Christ with this attitude you will please God and others will approve of you too. So then let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up. What is this attitude? It's the attitude of Christ himself. Paul writes about this elsewhere in Philippians: don't look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others too. You must have this same attitude that Christ TODAY'S PRAYERS: Lord God Almighty and everlasting father you have brought us in safety to this new day preserve us with your Mighty power that we might not fall into sin or be overcome by adversity. Amen. “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh.” — Galatians 5:17 In every believer's heart there is a constant struggle between the old nature and the new. AI, Spiritual Deception & Learning to Ask God the Right Questions | KIB 533 Kingdom Intelligence Briefing Description Are we asking God the wrong questions in this generation? In Episode 533 of the Kingdom Intelligence Briefing, Dr. Michael and Mary Lou Lake examine the growing spiritual deception surrounding AI, data centers, propaganda, counterfeit spirituality, and the coming pressures of Mystery Babylon. This powerful briefing challenges believers to move beyond shallow Christianity and learn how to seek the Kingdom of God with discernment, covenant faithfulness, and spiritual maturity. Dr. Lake explores how believers have often been trained to pursue comfort, prosperity, and escape rather than asking God how to walk in Kingdom purpose, holiness, discernment, and spiritual authority in the last days. Mary Lou shares urgent insights regarding spiritual warfare, mind control technologies, AI systems, occult influences, and the need for believers to trust fully in God's protection and covenant promises. This episode is a wake-up call for the Remnant: • Learn to discern truth in an age of deception • Understand the spiritual dangers behind counterfeit systems • Discover the power of asking God the right questions • Learn how the Holy Spirit develops true Kingdom maturity • Be encouraged that God's power has not diminished The days ahead will require discernment, covenant fidelity, spiritual endurance, and unwavering trust in the Most High God. "Teach me what to ask, Lord." ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
"This is the most difficult and at the same time the most important thing to embrace in the Christian life: that we become willing participants (with God), not only in what God does but in the way He does it."—Eugene Peterson, Christ Plays in Ten Thousand PlacesFriends, we continue to be gripped by these two questions. How are our daily activities shaping us into the people we are becoming? And, what changes might aim our becoming more closely toward the Person and Way of Jesus? In this next episode of the Become Good Soil Foundations Series we invite you to reflect with us on these questions and the ancient idea of a rule of life. Our hope—as we revisit the rule of life—is to facilitate a gentle check in regarding how we are arranging our days.Developing a rule of life does not mean picking up a heavy yoke or toeing the line for a critical voice. Rather, “rule” in this case is related to a ruler or guide. Just as it's helpful to use a ruler to steady our hand when drawing a line, so a rule of life helps guide our lives in the direction we yearn to live. As has often been observed, a rule of life is like a trellis supporting a growing vine. The trellis supports the vine as it grows and bears fruit, shaping its form and making possible its generativity. As a vine without a trellis becomes tangled, turned in on itself, and unfruitful, so can our hearts and lives, habits and relationships, desires and impulses devolve without the structure of a supportive rule of life. With characteristic understatement, Jesus reminds us that each day of life brings plenty of predictable challenges (Matthew 6:34). What would it be like to receive from our God and the wisdom of His people a “trellis” of habits and practices that over time will form the resilience, endurance, faithfulness, joy, and love of Jesus? What would it be like to have a Kingdom-trellis upon which to rest our souls as we trust the Spirit to form in us by day and decade the character of Jesus and allow us to persevere through whatever challenge we may face on the Way?Check in with us as we explore a rule of life together. It's all been prologue. The best is yet to come. For the Kingdom,Morgan & Cherie

The hardest part of recognizing a people-pleasing pattern isn't the recognition itself. It's the quiet, unsettling question that surfaces right after: But if I stop... who am I? In Part 2 of The Dying to Please Series, Tanya Engesether goes beneath the surface of the people-pleasing pattern to the identity question at its core — because for many high-capacity women, people-pleasing isn't just something they do. It is who they are. The strong one. The reliable one. The capable one. The selfless one. And the prospect of changing that pattern doesn't feel like healing. It feels like losing themselves. In this episode, Tanya explores how people-pleasing becomes identity over time, names the specific roles many women have built their lives around, and addresses the grief that comes with letting go of a familiar story — even a painful one. She then goes to the theological root of the issue: the difference between a worth that is performed and a worth that is established by God before you ever did a single thing. This is not a ten-step plan. This is an honest, grace-filled conversation about what it means to begin rebuilding your identity on a foundation that does not shift — and what becomes possible when you do. In This Episode You'll Learn: How people-pleasing transitions from survival strategy to identity over time The specific roles high-capacity women build their lives around — and what each one is costing them Why letting go of a people-pleasing identity involves real grief — and why that grief is valid The theological foundation of worth — what God says about your value before your performance begins The difference between performing an identity and living from one What Psalm 139, Ephesians 2:10, and Galatians 5:1 say about identity and freedom What it practically looks like to begin untangling worth from usefulness Why receiving is a spiritual practice — and why people-pleasers struggle with it How identity-level work is the foundation of sustainable physical healing Scripture Referenced Psalm 139:14 — "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Ephesians 2:10 — "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works." Galatians 5:1 — "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free." Galatians 1:10 — "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?" Key Takeaway Your worth was established before your performance began. Rebuilding your identity outside of people-pleasing doesn't happen all at once — it happens in small, repeated, often uncomfortable moments of choosing differently. And the woman you find on the other side of that work is worth knowing. I hope this episode blesses you! Xoxo, Tanya Book a FREE functional health discovery call HERE. Can external discipline actually change you from the inside out? In this Beyond the Notes teaching, Pastor Russell Howard works through Colossians 2:16-23, where Paul identifies two dangers for believers: the legalistic judgment of others and the illusion of holiness through self-made religion. From dietary restrictions to ascetic practices to claims of superior spiritual experience, Paul's argument is direct. These things have an appearance of wisdom, but they are of no value in stopping the indulgence of the flesh. The episode closes with Galatians 5:16, what Pastor Russell calls the single most concise and powerful verse in the New Testament on gaining mastery over the desires of the flesh. There are no rules to add, no habits to adopt. There is one command: walk by the Spirit. This teaching is for anyone who has tried harder and still come up short, and who wants to understand what actually produces real growth. The Bible says the tongue has the power of life and death. When we speak before we think, we often use our tongue as a death weapon. I'm encouraging you to think before you speak, and we've even made some bracelets for you to wear which say think. It's a good reminder to carry with you all day, so before you speak you make certain what you say needs to be said and is said in the best possible way. This acrostic for think will help you think before you speak. We already saw T stands for true. Speak only what you know to be true. H stands for helpful: Are the words you're just getting ready to say going to help anyone? If not, don't say them. Ephesians 4:29 is one of the most powerful verses in the Bible, in my opinion, and if we practiced it, we would think before we speak. It says, Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen (Ephesians 4:29). Some time ago I began praying this verse into my life, and I encourage you to do the same. Then I noticed when I would start to say something, I would often hear that inaudible voice of God's Spirit saying, “Is this going to help anyone else; will it benefit those who listen?” That has caused me to stop in the middle of lots of sentences, as I realized I didn't need to say what I was planning to say because it wasn't helpful to anyone else. Can you even imagine the wonderful changes that would take place on our jobs, in our churches, and in our homes if we determined not to speak any words that were unwholesome, that did not benefit others? That would eliminate griping and complaining; it would keep us from nagging people; it would cause us to stop passing on gossip. My goodness, it would make a difference in the way we live. Think about what you're going to say before you say it. It's so much easier to swallow those unhelpful words than it is to try to recover from them once they are said. If it's not helpful, just don't say it.

#SHMS #BEST #STRAWSupport the show: https://www.steveharveyfm.com/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Have you ever woken up from a dream that felt too vivid, too specific, or too persistent to simply brush aside? In this episode, Whitney Hopler gently opens the conversation about a topic that many believers wonder about but rarely discuss: can God speak through our dreams? The answer, rooted in Joel 2:28 and woven throughout Scripture, is yes — though Whitney is careful to remind us that not every dream is a divine message. Many are simply the mind sorting through the noise of daily life. But even then, the Holy Spirit is at work, quietly renewing your mind as you sleep. When a dream catches your attention — especially if it recurs — Whitney offers a wise and grounded approach: begin not with analysis, but with surrender. Before searching for symbols or patterns, simply ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom. God never sends messages to frighten or confuse you. If He is speaking through a dream, it is because He loves you and wants to draw you closer to Him — to inspire, guide, heal, challenge, or encourage you. You don't need to have all the answers today. You simply need to keep seeking, stay open, and trust that God will meet you right where you are. Today's Bible Verse "I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions." — Joel 2:28, NIV Ponder Today God can and does speak through dreams — but not every dream is a direct message. Many dreams reflect your inner world, and even those are not wasted. The Holy Spirit is always at work renewing your mind, even while you sleep. Interpretation begins with surrender, not analysis. Before searching for symbols or meaning on your own, bring the dream to God first and ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom. Pure motives open the door to clear understanding. Recurring dreams deserve prayerful attention. A dream that keeps returning may be a signal that something important in your life has not yet been addressed. Rather than rushing to conclusions, allow the Holy Spirit to unfold understanding in His timing. Peace is often a sign that God is in it. If a dream leaves you with fear or pressure, ask God to remove anything that isn't truly from Him. His guidance — even when challenging — is typically accompanied by a deep and steady sense of peace. Notice what the dream produces in you. Does it draw you closer to God? Does it lead you to pray, repent, hope, or step out in faith? The fruit of a Spirit-given dream will always point you toward what matters most from God's perspective. A Prayer for You Today Dear Holy Spirit, You know every detail of my mind and life far better than I do. If this dream is a message You are speaking directly to me, please give me wisdom to understand it clearly and courage to respond in obedience. Help me not to rush ahead of You or jump to conclusions, but to wait patiently for Your guidance. Remove confusion, fear, and distraction from my mind and replace them with clarity, peace, and truth. Thank You for being near, for speaking in ways I can understand, and for guiding me step by step as I seek You. Amen. #SHMS #BEST #STRAWSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Ephesians 6:10, “Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” This comes BEFORE you put on the armor in verses 11-17. Putting even the best armor on a weak soldier does no good in the battle. The soldier must be strong to use the armor. Maybe you're weak right now – girl you don't need heavy armor – first you need to be strengthened. How do we gain this strength? “Be strong IN the Lord and in his mighty power.” IN THE LORD. Strength comes IN union with God. The original greek used a passive verb literally meaning “be strengthen by someone else”. We are strengthened by God, not by ourselves. If we run into battle without HIS strength, we will lose. If we are strong but without God's armor, we will be defeated. We must have his strength AND his armor. But his strength comes FIRST. Before we are given weapons to fight, we must gain strength and learn how to use our weapons. (Soldiers in basic training). We are called on to actively stand against the enemy, but we are never expected to do so in our own strength—that would be suicidal. “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” This is a divine-human partnership. Not for a moment are we to fight the devil with our own ideas, our money, our strong will, or our own talents. Let's look at this scripture in different translations (Ephesians 6:10) • MSG – God is strong and he wants YOU strong. • TPT – Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you. Think about an infusion. An infusion is the delivery of fluids, medications or blood from an OUTSIDE source, flowing directly into a person's bloodstream through an IV. The IV is the connection allowing the flow. Without the IV, there is no connection and there is no flow. No flow, no infusion of what is needed. God's word is telling us WE MUST HAVE A CONNECTION TO BE INFUSED BY HIS STRENGTH. That connection is our relationship with Jesus Christ. As we connect with Jesus, we are infused with God's supernatural strength flowing in us and through us. We don't generate that strength, it is divinely infused strength. Spiritual power through connection. Now, with that image, read Ephesian 6:10 TPT again, “Be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you.” (See yourself hooked up to an IV receiving everything you need just flowing into you from an outside source. Strength, healing, power. Receive that!) Jeusus assures us in John 16:33 that, “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. BUT TAKE HEART, BECUASE I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.” That's the power of Jesus and that's the power that flows through you when you are connected to him and infused by God's strength! Will there still be problems? Yes – and here's why – because there's still a spiritual battle happening. Our problems are like visible wounds from the unseen spiritual battle. Behind most every problem is a spiritual battle to distract us, discourage us, dismiss us or distance us. Our problems are the visible wounds of the battle. Addictions, problems in your marriage, problems with your children, financial struggles, health battles – yes, those are the visible wounds of spiritual battles. But always remember this – 1 John 4:4, “Greater is He that is in you than He that is in the world.” MSG, “The Spirit that is in you is far greater than anything in the world.” If you're feeling weak from the battle, my sister, it's time for your infusion. Before you step into the next battle, before you make another decision, before you quit or before you move forward, be supernaturally infused with strength through your life-union with the Lord Jesus. Stand victorious with the force of his explosive power flowing in and through you. Isn't that the answer for what you're facing? Yes. Isn't that the answer for how you've been feeling? Yes. You're in a battle and before anything else, you need to be supernaturally strengthened. You only receive that through connection with Jesus. Seek him, lean into him, spend time with him, talk to him, rest in him, connect with him. Keith welcomes back Rich Dad author Robert Kiyosaki to discuss why debt, inflation, and financial education are critical in today's economy. Robert challenges traditional advice like "save money and pay off your house," explaining how understanding good debt and owning real assets can accelerate wealth while inflation quietly punishes savers. They explore how family background and early beliefs shape our money mindset, and why questioning conventional wisdom is essential. The conversation ultimately stresses that financial education only matters if you take action and intentionally position yourself for turbulent times instead of fearing them. You're inside one of America's longest running and most listened to real estate shows, this is Get Rich Education. I'm your host, Keith Weinhold. And with Father's Day this month, it's apropos to talk about Rich Dad. It's been said that the objective of parenting is to turn a liability into an asset. The book Rich Dad Poor Dad has now sold over 40 million copies, and it's been translated into 51 languages. One strong thesis in the book: well, there are a few of them: the rich don't work for money, savers are losers, and your house is not an asset. I think any regular listener here to the GRE podcast is already initiated on this. Savers or losers, because inflation debases your prosperity, and your house is not an asset, because it takes money out of your pocket every month. An asset puts money in your pocket every month instead. And I can see Robert now as he's preparing to take the mic with me here, he's got a blown up visual of his cash flow board game behind him, and then in front of him he's got a few books, including two books that he co-authored with Donald Trump, but this is before Trump was ever a political candidate, so it was before all that, and we're certainly not here to talk politics today. A central theme of the Rich Dad world is that the path for your significant financial betterment is rather than cutting your expenses, increase your income. This is the root action behind the mantra: don't live below your means, grow your means, but see, living below your means is easier. That's the easy thing to do. It's even myopic, say move into a lesser housing situation, or cut out going on vacations. Growing your means takes some education, like how to start a business, or how to own real estate. See, when you deposit money into a bank, all of a sudden that bank has a problem, they owe you interest on it, it's an expense for them. So the bank's job is now to lend your money out to somebody else and make a higher interest rate on it than. Lower interest rate that they're paying you on your deposit. All right. Well, then one direction to focus your education is to start acting like a bank yourself. How do you practically do that? How do you be the bank? Well, just like the bank, you can borrow real estate at a 7% mortgage rate. Now you've got the problem, you've got a monthly mortgage payment you need to make, so you need to beat 7% How are you going to do that? You better get it right. Well, with tax deductions, you might really be paying five to 6% Meanwhile, the real estate that you've carefully identified and invested in with your borrowed capital can earn multiples more without taking high risk, and actually that five to 6% effective cost of capital that you've got is zero, because that monthly payment is all outsourced to your tenants anyway, and what made all this possible for you? Debt made it possible, and now you're acting like the bank, and banks often have the tallest skyscrapers in your city for a reason, because they make money on those spreads all over the place, and now you're doing the same thing. This is an example of growing your means. The bank will hand you 500k to buy a new home or rental property, not for stocks. They won't do that for crypto, not for your 401k not for a business idea that popped into your head at 3am Only real estate, the same institutions, banks that manage your savings and study every asset class, and are very conservative, and have armies and armies of analysts. They will only lend you a half million dollars for one thing: real estate. For a few years, I was a writer for the Rich Dad Advisors blog when that was a thing. Robert and I were most recently together publicly last year when we both served as faculty members on the Terrific Real Estate Guys Investor Summit at Sea in the Caribbean. Let's talk to Robert. Keith Weinhold 7:18 I'd like to welcome back to the show for his fifth appearance here on the GRE podcast. Well, just the number one selling personal finance author of all time. He wrote Rich Dad Poor Dad in 1997 and has ruled the Rich Dad world ever since. It's a warm get worse education. Welcome back to Robert Kiyosaki. Robert Kiyosaki 7:38 Thank you, Keith. You know, nobody's more surprised about the success of Rich Dad Poor Dad than me, because it was turned down by every publisher in New York. It was like Simon and Schuster and all these guys, and they said, Why are you turning it down? They said, You don't know what you're talking about. It was consensus about the five editors of different book companies was what you're saying doesn't make sense, that's how strange it was back 1997 and now it's the number one in the world. Keith Weinhold 8:10 This is often how it is when something strikes someone differently, like the Star Wars movies had difficulty getting traction because it was so unusual, and fortunately, Robert, today the consensus among readers has seen that, oh my gosh, Rich Dad Poor Dad changed my thinking more than anything else. The contrarian thinker, Robert Kiyosaki 8:34 you know, strike Rich Dad, Poor Dad. My poor dad was academic, you know, PhD, yeah. So he'd be the kind of guy that says your book makes no sense, whereas my rich dad never went to school because his father died when he was 13 and he had to take over the family business. So much of a young person's life is predicated upon their parents or where the family or the culture you come from, and I've been studying more of that, like let's say I was raised in Alabama, I'd have a southern accent but because of the environment it presents it upon you, as the same as money, if a child is born into a poor family, or in my case an academic family, the value systems are all different. My family, and it's still true today. Got to go to school, get a job, and get a pension with the government. That's their whole belief system, and they're so proud of this. Is my brothers and uncles, and all that. They're so proud when their child has what's called a GS, and a government service pension, that's the whole idea on finance, get that pension, job security, Keith Weinhold 9:49 yeah, Speaker 1 9:49 nothing wrong with it, nothing wrong with it, but a lot of times we can't hear something because of what's been compressed into us by our culture, our. Family, so my, you know, my poor dad was always, you have to get your PhD, or what? God got a PhD. So my brothers and sisters, their kids are all getting their PhDs. It's fascinating. It's fascinating. Keith Weinhold 10:14 Yeah, when your poor dad tells you you need to get your PhD, and you're asking for what? Maybe the answer was for him. So our parents, yes, they're often our first teachers. Speaker 2 10:25 It's just values, very different values. And the more I kind of study it, I don't think I'm a good student of it, but there's this thing called a paradigm matrix, and a paradigm matrix is what is like a cookie cutter, so like father, like son, you know, like mother, like daughter, so much of our lives are transferred by our parents and our schools and things like this, and so that's why Rich Dad Poor Dad, for some people it works, but when it first came out, 1997 as you said, it was strange. I said, you know, the savers were losers, and today everybody knows inflation is going to the roof. I said, your house is not an asset. I got hammered for that one. Keith Weinhold 11:11 Right. Speaker 1 11:11 Rich don't work for money. Those are my three rich dad rules. Rich don't work for money, savers are losers, and your house is not an asset. I built Rich Dad Poor Dad around those three rules. I didn't follow my poor dad, those were his guiding lights. You know, you have to have job security, and you have to have a government pension, and my house is my biggest asset. And so you can't hear the person because you already have that paradigm magic, or that cookie cutter inside of you. This is my value system in my family. If I didn't get my PhD, I was stupid. I never got one. But anyway, you know, Keith Weinhold 11:50 just because you believe something for a long time doesn't make it true, Speaker 1 11:55 correct? And what's happening? Because I wrote Rich Dad Poor Dad, because I could see this economic times coming, 1971 named Nixon took the dollar off the gold standard, and I knew at that time we're going to have hyperinflation, so that it hasn't hit us quite yet. 1971 was august 15. Nixon's taking the dollar off the gold standard, and you watch what's going to happen next few years. We're going to have hyperinflation that we've never seen before, and it's gonna make the poor and middle class poorer. The rich will get richer, but poor and middle class will get poorer. Tragically, Keith Weinhold 12:30 that is such an appropriate time to bring this up, Robert, because a lot of people are drawing parallels between the 1970s two waves of inflation during that decade, and what's going on today. I mean, there is so much fuel now that could ignite higher inflation. You've got the cumulative effects of the Iran war and the energy shocks and bottled up supply chains. And Robert, I don't know if you've heard it yet, but you and I's mutual friend, Dr. Chris Martinson, yeah, peak prosperity, there, Chris Martinson, he recently said that he would not be surprised to see 18 to 20% annual inflation in the next two to three years. That's exactly what he said. Speaker 2 13:12 Yeah, but it's good for those who have assets, right? You see what, when things inflate, you know, like chickens and eggs and milk go up, but so do assets go up, most of them, like gold and silver, will go up, but the purchasing of the dollar will come down. Inflation is a tax, that's all it is. Keith Weinhold 13:33 So much potential for inflation there, and a lot of this really ties in with debt, about how debtors can be enriched inflation. I think about the cantillion effect, meaning that in inflationary times those closest to the money printer win, and that usually tends to be governments, large banks, corporations with easy credit scores, but a lot of people don't realize that we can benefit from that too is everyday investors that use leverage prudent debt, Speaker 1 14:05 right, and tell you, in effect, is basically what interest rate can you get, and how easy is money for you, and I use debt, I'm 1,000,000,002 in debt, and that scares the crap out of most people, but I use debt to get rich, and most people use debt to get poor, and again, that's family, what your education says. So, a lot has to do with early childhood development, and all that stuff. The more I study it, it really goes back to before a child was like 15. The cookie cutter has been cut. Keith Weinhold 14:36 Yes, it goes back to not always having to believe everything that you think. Speaker 2 14:40 We all have access to education. I have my cash flow game here. I teach people how to use debt, and Dave Ramsey says don't use debt. Well, he's a smart man too, Dave. I like him a lot, and most people should listen to Dave Ramsey, but if you're going to use debt, you'd better take some education, so. To go 1,000,000,002 in debt, man, you better know something. People aren't living paycheck to paycheck, they're living credit card to credit card now, and getting wiped out. I hate to laugh, but it's so obvious. You go, because they have no financial education, and that's why my book was turned down by all those academics in New York City, the publishers say, you don't know what you're talking about. How can I say your house is not an asset? How can I say savers are losers? How can I say the rich don't work for money? And that's what Don't Rich Dad Poor Dad on. And now it's been an international best seller, number one in the world for like 25 years. Keith Weinhold 15:39 Yeah, well, it's so interesting that you bring up Dave Ramsey here, Robert. He often gets his followers to make a debt-free scream when they're debt free, and you know what I think, Robert, for those that scream that they're debt free, what they're doing is they're postponing screaming that they're job free or job optional, they could have been prudently leveraging dollars for profit, instead, like you and I do. Speaker 2 16:06 Well, let me just say, Dave Ramsey's advice is good for most people. I'm saying, if you're going to learn to use debt, you know, if all you want is a job and a pension, you don't have to study that much. The biggest mistake I think ever made was at 401 k. It's going to wipe out boomer generation. It's going to.. that's the memos. I wrote this book. Here's who stole my pension, and that's when it's going to nail the boomers. They're finished, because their pensions are going to get stolen. They're four 1k IRAs. They're finished, but they do.. they listen. No, they go, they send their kids to school to get their MBA and get a, get a 401 k. Keith Weinhold 16:46 Well, I kind of think when you have education around debt, you sort of understand this difference between productive debt and what I'll call ego debt. So, can you talk to us more about what kinds of debt make people rich today and what kinds of debt can quietly destroy them. Speaker 2 17:02 Well, they should read Rich Dad Poor Dad. Really, I'm serious. That's all it is about, really, is I use debt to get rich, and Dave Ramsey's advice is good for those who don't want to study. So, if you're a PhD in microbiology, and you're a doctor, Dave Ramsey's advice is good for you, because you have no financial education, it's not between your right ear and your left ear. So, I had to study debt, that's the difference. It's what we study. Keith Weinhold 17:29 And for those that are uninitiated on this, what we're talking about here is, if you've got, say, 200k to invest in real estate, and real estate's going to go up 5% a year. Okay, if you pay all cash, you only have a 5% gain on your 200k but if you get an 800k loan and now you invest in a million dollars worth of real estate, you have that entire million dollars going up 5% not just 200k and you have the tenants servicing the 800k in debt for you. This is really the path to wealth through debt, which is counterintuitive. Speaker 1 18:02 You don't just get into debt. I mean, you really got to understand debt, and real estate doesn't always go up. It's about to crash again, and I like crashes. Don't get me wrong, I love crashes, because a crash in a stock market, bond market, real estate market is something going on sale, so like if Walmart had a sale, every poor person would run in there, but when the real estate market has a sale, all the poor people run away. I like crashes, that's when you get rich, one's coming big time, big time. Keith Weinhold 18:33 Well, I want to learn more about that, because residential real estate in our lifetimes has only fallen significantly one time, that was in 2008 and circumstances are so different today. Today, you have responsible lending, and you don't have this oversupply that you had in 2008 So, tell us more about a potential real estate crash that's going to interest a lot of people. Speaker 1 18:53 Well, real estate crashes, because the currency crashes. It's really the problem with the world today, and this is the whole world, is America is now what, the biggest debtor nation in world history. Keith Weinhold 19:05 Yeah, Speaker 1 19:05 39 trillion or something like that. And Japan is a bunch of idiots on Japanese, I can say that they save money. Why would you save money when Japan was the biggest money printer of all times? That'd be like somebody you know, sticking water in your gas tank. Why would you go and fill up with water? But that's what the Japanese were doing. They're saving money. It makes no sense. I mean, I just.. I'm just a different person, you know. I just didn't go to school like my family did. I mean, I have a college education and all that, but I studied different things after school. I studied debt, I studied real estate, and that's the big difference. So, I'm 1,000,000,002 in debt. So, in 2008 when the market crashed, you know, I borrowed 30 million bucks and leveled it up with 1,000,000,002 in debt. Keith Weinhold 19:52 Good timing Speaker 1 19:53 should not do what I do, but I studied it since 1974 It's debt that's not. Right now today we have oil going up. My college degree is in oil. I'm an oil tanker driver. I drove oil tankers with Standard Oil. I'm making fortunes today as the price of oil goes up, so you know, more Netanyahu and Trump bomb Iran, terrible as it is. I'm getting richer, so you don't have to be poor, but you're poor because that gap between your left ear and your right ear is empty, you know. You've been taught inflation's bad. Well, inflation is good if you're holding oil or gold or silver or some real estate. Anyway, most people have no financial education. That's why I created the cash flow board game, so you can have fun learning how to be rich. If you don't want to learn to be rich, then go to school and get your PhD. Keith Weinhold 20:47 Sometimes, when people don't understand how real estate debt benefits them, one way I've helped people understand Robert is that, say, you have a loan balance of 112k on a piece of real estate today, that feels really small. It almost feels like something that you can pay off with what you have in your savings account, but if you go back 30 years, when the median home price is 140k 80% debt on that would have been 112k So here, 30 years later, with your 30 year fixed rate loan, you still just have that 112k in debt, while the median home price is over 400k and that's even if you hadn't made a principal payment at all, so it's really a way to visualize how inflation starts shrinking the real weight of our debt over time. Speaker 1 21:31 My advice is I would study debt, so I take real estate courses, I'm always studying, I'm studying constantly, because the markets are changing so quickly. The biggest problem today started in 1971 when Nixon took the dollar off the gold standard. So, we're the biggest detonation in world history. I think we're going into a depression right now. So, depression plus AI coming along is going to wipe out jobs. I'm going to get richer. What are you going to do? So, I'm already planning for the future, the people that get rich can see the future. So, when you say, well, you know, back in 2008 it only crashed for a little while. Then, okay, so what? And history has proven in 1971 Nixon took the dollar off the gold standard. Every nation has collapsed. Who did that? The Chinese did it, the Romans did it, the Greeks did it, Germans did it. They print money, and so that's the real issue. It's not debt, but it's also the economic macro problems that keep going into the world. The dollar is coming down, and I'm afraid that we're going into a global depression. I hope I'm wrong, like Grant Cardone, and I have fights all the time about it, you know, because he's a big proponent of that. Real estate always goes up, it doesn't always go up, Keith Weinhold 22:47 right? Speaker 1 22:47 It doesn't always go up. The stock market doesn't always go up. The bond market's crashing. Everybody says, "Oh, bonds are safe. The bond market's in the biggest bubble in world history. We're going into a depression. So, what are you going to do about it? I'm afraid America is going to crash because we've taken on Iran, and Iran's a powerful, powerful force out there. I'm not in favor of it, but everybody who's messed with Iran has got kicked. So just note that as this look at history, you can see the future, but you have to be careful in the issue you follow. So, 1971 I was on an aircraft carrier in Vietnam, and my rich dad wrote me a letter. I was a marine helicopter pilot, went down three times. Rich Dad wrote me lessons. Nixon took the dollar off the gold standard, watch out, and immediately I started buying gold. So, I started buying gold at $50 an ounce to today is what, four or 5000 Keith Weinhold 23:43 Yeah, Speaker 1 23:44 the trouble with gold is you pay high taxes on it, constant taxes too. Listen to Get Rich Education with Keith Weinhold, and don't quit your daydream. Keith Weinhold 25:47 Welcome back to Get Rich Education. I'm your host, Keith Weinholt. We're talking with the top-selling personal finance author of all time, Robert Kiyosaki. Speaker 1 25:55 Just study history. History will see this, you'll see the future. So, this is my good friend here, McDonald. You know why he wants you to get rich, and it's this one man, one message. Keith Weinhold 26:06 Robert's holding up a book now. Speaker 1 26:08 You've got to get educated on money, but most people won't, so they got a 401 k, and they live debt free. Good advice. Will it protect them? No, it won't protect them from a, you know, if you lose your job, AI takes it away, or is a massive crash, but we've never been in this much debt before to you. Black generation is screwed, boomers and boomers are screwed, because we're the first generation with a four 1k that was 1974 1974 also Kissinger went to Saudi Arabia to sign the dollar up back by oil, and today my buddy here, Trump is bombing the crap out of Iran. I'm not saying it's good or bad, but the price of oil is going through the roof now. Everybody's complaining about it because of inflation, so chicken and eggs go up in price, you know. Diesel delivers chicken and eggs all over the world. I'm getting richer because I own oil wells, you see. You don't have to be poor, but you better question what they put between your left ear and your right ear. What did Mommy and Daddy tell you? Go to school, get a job, get a job with a government service. My daughter's a GS, she's got a master's from Washington State University losers, Keith Weinhold 27:24 this untethering of the dollar from gold in 1971 that meant that there is no sovereign currency in the world today that's still tied to gold, allowing for more money printing and enriching over time debtors like you and I, but Robert, we think about how debtors are profiting, and you spoke earlier about how oftentimes your parents put all of these values inside you. How do you emotionally tolerate having a lot of debt yourself? You talked about having $1.2 billion in debt. How do you emotionally deal with that? Speaker 1 28:00 I study, I take courses. I'm constantly in seminars studying debt. I don't study a 401 ks or bonds, that's for losers. But this is the biggest point, Keith. You got to find out. My rich had always said to me, says there's a billion ways to financial heaven. So, there's what, 8 billion people on planet earth, and 1 billion of the eight may make it to financial heaven, but there's 7 billion to financial hell, and the difference is what's between your left ear and your right ear, and that's why you may choose what you learn carefully, cash flow game, study it, have fun, practice, play, learn, but if you don't want to learn, then follow Dave Ramsey's advice. That's much better. It's better for you, really. I'm serious. And get your PhD and get a 401 k and get wiped out when you lose your job. It's up to you. Keith Weinhold 28:54 Yeah, I mean, the debt-free mindset probably is better for most people, but I think you shouldn't aspire to want to be like most people. Most people are overweight, and they have a busted relationship, and they don't have enough money at the end of the month. So we're really not aspiring to be mediocre here, and that can mean taking on prudent debt. You wrote something in a book one time, I don't think it was Rich Dad Poor Dad, it was one of your later books. This is so simple, but I found it to be so profound and life-changing for me. And that is simply being wealthy is a choice Speaker 1 29:28 that doesn't, what you want, it's your choice, but you better know what your choices are. What did Mommy and Daddy say to you? But also, were they doing in front of you? Keith Weinhold 29:39 Right, Speaker 1 29:40 were they cleaning for job security or were they buying coil wells? Like, I own Bitcoin, but they'll recommend it now. I study it. I don't really understand it that well. I have 5049 Bitcoin, not much, but as inflation goes up, my Bitcoin goes up. Also, have in theory. I'm old. I don't understand tech that well, but I buy it to learn it, to practice, to study it. Am I an expert at Bitcoin? No. So I just keep studying, that's all I'm saying. I have a choice how to put between this year and that year. That's your choice today. Keith Weinhold 30:18 Well, that's really interesting, Robert, because some people say that you should only invest in something that you understand well, others say that you're only going to understand something well if you invest a little in it first and have a stake. Well, is there any last thought that you have, Robert, as we wind up, anything at all that a listener should know today? Speaker 1 30:39 No, I mean, I just said it, that's it. Choose what you put between your left brain and right ear, and what do you do? What do you do in your spare time? Like studying, you can ask the people around me. I'm constantly studying, you know, because I like to win. I'm very concerned, Keith. We're going into the biggest depression in history. So, what happens when you lose your job and you can't put food on the table, that's gonna create another problem. So, I'm a big pessimist, but I'm ready for it. I have a lot of guns, so the, I call it the 5g's Okay, you have to have gold, food, I mean ground, gasoline, and guns, that's preparing for the future, the 5g will be gold, gas, ground, food, guns. Keith Weinhold 31:27 Well, Robert, you gave us a lot to think about there, including some actionable things. It's been great having you back on the show. Speaker 1 31:32 Okay. Well, thank you. Keep up the good work. Keith Weinhold 31:40 I believe Robert feels that a calming economic depression would be linked to the longer term calamity about the dollar being de-pegged from gold for about 55 years now. His 1.2 billion in debt is largely, if not completely, good debt. You can learn more about Robert and the Rich Dad world@richdad.com and he and I talked more off air. As much as he stresses financial education, he emphasizes taking action after you've learned; otherwise, you really haven't gained much of anything. But the rat race is so busy that some people don't have time to care about this stuff. In fact, the difference between financial education and financial courage is action taking. That's the difference. Now, in my view, it seems that some feel like financial betterment means cutting your expenses so much that you reduce your standard of living even over the long term, and doing that for the long term, you might do some of that in the short term, earlier in your investing career, because you need some capital formation, but to me, before long, financial betterment should give you the ability to make your life better. I mean, really don't buy the boat or RV just because it's a depreciating asset. Well, you don't want to do that wastefully if you can't afford it, but if you can learn how to afford it, consider borrowing for it, investing it at a higher interest rate than the RV loan, and profiting while you enjoy the RV, some people don't even think something like that is possible. Well, that's the sort of thing financial education can do. Genuine financial betterment means that you can take the trip, it means that you can buy the boat, because what's worse, owning a depreciating asset or living a depreciating life. Big thanks to Robert Kiyosaki. Keith Weinhold 33:47 Today, we've got a lot of great upcoming shows here on the Get Rich Education podcast. Next week, The Mad Scientist of Multifamily, Neil Bower, will be here. It's going to be a charged conversation on the state and the future of the residential real estate market. Also, I've been compiling my top 12 dirty dozen due diligence questions that are going to help you avoid mistakes when you buy a piece of income property, like for example, How do you be sure that a build to rent community isn't overbuilt with supply, and why you should always get a property inspection, even on a new construction property that's coming in future weeks, and if you're a new listener and still learning about how to prudently use debt to build wealth, you're in luck. Just eight weeks ago, on episode 600 it's an episode where it's just me talking to you, called Debt is the American dream. Be sure to check out that show until next week. Notes: Luke 17 God gives us biblical principles to free us from our three enemies: the world, the flesh, and the devil. The freedom that the world offers is slavery. Read Luke 17:1–2 (NKJV) Your Influence Is Never Neutral. Matthew 12:30 (NKJV)"He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters abroad.”You cannot impress people and bless people at the same time. Parents, your greatest mission field is inside your own home. Deuteronomy 6:6–7 (NKJV)"And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. "You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” Luke 17:2 (NLT)It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin. 1 Corinthians 10:31–32 (NLT)So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Don't give offense to Jews or Gentiles or the church of God. 1 Corinthians 10:33 (NLT)I, too, try to please everyone in everything I do. I don't just do what is best for me; I do what is best for others so that many may be saved. 1 Corinthians 11:1 (NLT)And you should imitate me, just as I imitate Christ. Repent!Turn from the shortcomings and follow God’s will. Ask God to forgive you and to strengthen you so you won't fail. Luke 17:3 (NKJV)Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. Luke 17:4 (NKJV)And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him. Forgive As You’ve Been Forgiven. Proverbs 27:5–6 (NKJV)Open rebuke is betterThan love carefully concealed.Faithful are the wounds of a friend,But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. Luke 6:37 (NKJV)Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. To forgive means to release someone from a debt. Luke 17:5 (NKJV)And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." Luke 17:6 (NKJV)So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you. The Right Faith We don’t need more faith; we need a deeper understanding of what faith in God can accomplish. Read Luke 17:7–10 (NKJV) It’s Not Always About You. Jesus is the central figure in all human history, in all of creation. Acts 20:22–23 (NLT)And now I am bound by the Spirit to go to Jerusalem. I don't know what awaits me, except that the Holy Spirit tells me in city after city that jail and suffering lie ahead. Acts 20:24 (NLT)But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God. Matthew 6:3–5 (NLT)When you give to someone in need, don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you. When you pray, don't be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get. When we obey God, it’s liberating, it’s freedom, and it’s revolutionary. The Harvest Crusade is coming to Angel Stadium on July 11!
