Send us a Text Message. When Lee Finkelstein lays down a beat, it's not just rhythm—he's telling a story, painting a landscape. It's a philosophy I, John Simeone, share wholeheartedly. Our recent conversation took us on a tour through the world of drumming, where we unpacked the essence of what it means to truly play for the music. Lee, with his wealth of experience across genres, emphasizes the idea that serving the song trumps personal showmanship. We riff on the camaraderie between drummers, the joy found in simplicity, and the magnetic pull of a groove that unites a band. The heartbeat of our episode pulses with discussions on live performance and the wisdom Lee shares gleaned from playing with legends like the Blues Brothers band and stepping in for David Garibaldi with Tower of Power. As we explore the shifting tides of the music industry, we offer nuggets of advice for up-and-coming drummers striving to stay relevant. Join us as we share stories of triumph, the humbling moments of our careers, and the lessons that resonate beyond the stage. Episode 106 Electronic Music of Dune Playlist Toto, “Main Title,” “Robot Fight,” and “Dune (Desert Theme)” from Main Title / Robot Fight / Dune (Desert Theme) (1984 Polydor). A single produced from the soundtrack of the David Lynch film version of Dune (1984). Toto, with its big synthesizers, created most of the soundtrack, although Brian Eno, Roger Eno and Daniel Lanois had one track (included later in this podcast). Bass, David Hungate; Drums, Percussion, Jeff Porcaro; Guitar, Steve Lukather; Keyboards, David Paich, Steve Porcaro. 6:36 David Matthews, “Part I: Arrakis,” “Part II: Sandworms,” “Part III: Song Of The Bene Gesserit,” “Part IV: Muad'Dib” from Dune (1977 CTI Records). Arranged by David Matthews and produced by Creed Taylor for his CTI jazz label, this was an extended work inspired by the novel by Frank Herbert. Cliff Carter plays the solo synth (mini-Moog?) on the first track and other places. The work is jazz with bits of electronic music blended into the instrumentation. It remains an interesting artifact partly because of the legal problems CTI faced once they released the album. Because CTI had not secured writer Frank Herbert's authorization to use his novel Dune as the thematic center piece for the album, Herbert filed a law suit against CTI and won, forcing the label to delete it from catalog. For this reason, that interesting album was never reissued in the USA. Enjoy. Alto Saxophone, David Sanborn; Bass, Mark Egan; Bass Trombone, Dave Taylor; Concertmaster, Sanford Allen; Drums, Andy Newmark, Steve Gadd; Flute, Piccolo Flute, Dave Tofani; Guitar, Eric Gale, Hiram Bullock; Keyboards, Cliff Carter; Oboe, Clarinet, Lew Del Gatto; Percussion, Gordon Gottlieb, Sue Evans; Tenor Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone, Grover Washington, Jr.; Trombone, Jerry Chamberlain*, Sam Burtis, Tom Malone, Wayne Andre; Trumpet, Flugelhorn, Burt Collins, Jim Bossy, Joe Shepley, John Gatchell, Jon Faddis, Lew Soloff, Randy Brecker; Vocals, Googie Coppola. Recorded at Electric Lady Studios, June 1977. The first side is the Dune suite, the second side features interpretations of other sci fi film themes (Silent Running, Star Wars, etc.). 20:29 Frank Herbert reading Dune from Dune, The Banquet Scene (1977 Caedmon Records) combined with a track by Alan R. Splet, “Space Travel W/ Changing Choral Textures” (2003 Sub Rosa) from An Anthology Of Noise & Electronic Music / Second A-Chronology 1936-2003. The recording of Herbert was made at the height of the Dune craze, the late 1970s. When David Lynch made his film for release in 1984, he was working with Splet who is not credited by whom may have contributed some electronic and ambient sounds. This track appears to confirm that and I've combined it with the Herbert reading. 5:07 Brian Eno, Roger Eno and Daniel Lanois, “Prophecy Theme” from Dune (Original Soundtrack Recording) (1984 Polydor). This little track was the only one that remained of Eno's contributions to the Dune soundtrack, although he reportedly composed an entire movie's worth of music for the film. Some was used as incidental music. 4:21 Zheani, “The Litany Against Fear” from Eight (2018 Sleepcvlt). Cassette release from this Australian rapper, electronic musician, model and actress. This is a famous quote from Herbert's Dune and seemed fitting to have it represented by a musician for the podcast. 0:36 Klaus Schulze, “Dune” from Dune (1979 Brain). Yes, Schulze, too, was infected with the Dune craze and created this ambitious 30-minute work to acknowledge it. This is a truly lovely electronic work from those days when Schulze was largely still working analog synthesis, and synthesize voices and orchestral sounds, much like his earlier album X. The cello is played by Wolfgang Tiepold, produced by and all keyboards by Klaus Schulze. The first side comprises the piece called Dune and the second side features an unrelated work with vocals by Arthur Brown. An intriguing album all around! 30:05 Graeme Revell & The City Of Prague Philharmonic, “Seduction” from Frank Herbert's Dune (Original Soundtrack From The Sci-Fi Channel Mini Series) (2001 GNP Cresendo). Composed by Graeme Revell; executive producer, Neil Norman; orchestra, chorus, The City Of Prague Philharmonic. This is the soundtrack for a Sci Fi channel mini-series back in 2001. The music is primarily orchestral, being performed in the Czech Republic and arranged by Neil Norman, Hollywood veteran of science fiction films. But Revell did compose it and there are a few tracks, such as the one featured here, that have clearly electronic elements that stand out. 1:51 Grimes, “Caladan” from Geidi Primes (2011 No Pain in Pop). Grimes' first album was a concept album based on Frank Herbert's novel Dune and David Lynch's 1984 film adaptation of the book. This track is about the fictional home planet of the Atreides, the protagonist clan in the novel. Produced by, written by, played by Grimes. She used relatively simple sounds, overdubs, and interesting vocal mixes to tell these tales. 2:23 Kurt Stenzel, “Parallel World” (1:42), “Parallel World (Outro)” (1:04), “Leap Of Faith” (0:43), “Time And Space” (2:04), “Optical World” (2:56), “Nebula” (2:26), and “Invitation” (excerpt) from Jodorowsky's Dune (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (2014 Cinewax). This is a bit of a side-hustle because Alejandro Jodorowsky's much hyped film version of Dune, which he sought to make in the 1970s, does not exist. It is one of the most famous movies that never existed. Still, the Chilean-French film director, producer, composer, actor stuck with the idea for quite some time until the David Lynch movie was produced in the 1980s and sucked all of the available Dune oxygen out of the room. But Jodorowsky's passion for the project inspired others, including guitarist and synthesist Stenzel who produced this soundtrack to a 2014 documentary about Jodorowsky and the ill-fated project. Stenzel composed music inspired by the book. This double LP has 33 tracks and I focused on a selection of connected synth tracks from the first album. Moog Source, CZ-101s, Roland Juno 6, toy Concertmate organ, Ninendo DS, voice, Kurt Stenzel. 11:56 Klause Schulze, “Side E—"Der Hauch Des Lebens (The Breath of Life) Pt #1” from Deus Arrakis (2022 SPV Recordings). Dune remained a lifelong source of fascination for Schulze. This, his final album, was also inspired by the novel he loved so well. This is a three-LP set, but the first LP is single-sided. Because of his ill health, Schulze knew that this might be his final project. In the liner notes he wrote directly to his fans, saying, “Thank you for your great support over all these years. This is for you! May the spice be with you. Always.” Recorded and written by Klaus Schulze; Cello, Wolfgang Tiepold; Voice, Eva-Maria Kagermann. 16:24 Han Zimmer, “Arrakis” from The Art And Soul Of Dune (Companion Book Music) (2021 WaterTower Music). Zimmer composed the soundtrack for the Denis Villeneuve released in 2021. Villeneuve has praised Zimmer's work on the film and that he had spent,"months and months creating new instruments, defining, creating, and seeking new sounds, pushing the envelope." In addition to a soundtrack for the film itself, Zimmer released two companion releases that provide an extended listen to the sounds and experiments that were created for the project. Three albums were released for the film by WaterTower Music, including The Dune Sketchbook (Music from the Soundtrack), Dune (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), and The Art and Soul of Dune on September 3, September 17, and October 22, 2021, respectively. This work is from the reading companion to the film. 13:28 Opening background music: Hans Zimmer, “The Shortening Of The Way” from The Dune Sketchbook (Music from the Soundtrack) (2021 WaterTower Music). This track is from a companion 2-CD set that accompanied the actual soundtrack. Zimmer called these sketches and they represent his sound experiments as he formulated the music for the film. This grand combination of acoustic instruments and synth sounds from Zimmer's private studio is stunning in its scope and virtuosity and highly recommended. Synth programming by Hans Zimmer. 11:14 Opening and closing sequences voiced by Anne Benkovitz. Additional opening, closing, and other incidental music by Thom Holmes. See my companion blog that I write for the Bob Moog Foundation. For additional notes, please see my blog, Noise and Notations.

(...) The great Hilton Valentine assumed room temperature this week in R&R brothers and sisters.....A sad bit of news to be sure.I met Hilton Valentine at a record show in Connecticut a few years ago and purchased a few 45's from him. We got to discuss some of his guitars, amps, influences, etc. I asked him where he got the idea for the guitar into on "Baby let me take you home"......he laughed and told me from Jimmy Page who played guitar on Hoagy Lands 45 rpm the same year. What? Where can I get a copy? Hilton had one for sale so after a short negotiation, I had the original in my hand...What? The Bert Berns penned Hoagy 45 wasn't the original? No Berns got it from Dylan [Baby, Let me follow you down] who got it from a traditional folk song....you can't make this stuff up! So the incredible guitar intro is Page according to Hilton but Wikipedia has Eric Gale as the guitarist...? Jimmy Page is one of the funkiest guitarists ever! His timing on the Yardbirds stuff and especially Zeppelin are outrageous.I can't figure out the intro no matter who's playing it! Dig it!.....

I was in New Orleans working on a record with Allen Toussaint and Randall Bramlett. The guy I shared a room with at The Howard Johnson had pneumonia and when I came back to New York I felt like I just wanted to be in bed. I had never felt like this before. They wanted to put me in a hospital but I had a gig that night with Steve (Gadd) and Richard Tee, Cornell (Dupree) and Eric (Gale), Gordon Edwards. I had the gig and I didn’t want to miss the gig. That was a night where I was just playing by instinct. I wasn’t thinking about anything at all, I just wanted to get through the gig and play the right notes and go home. That was the night where everyone was coming up to me saying, “you’re playing your ass off. Oh my god, I’ve never heard you play so good!” That happened subsequently a bunch of times, where you’re so sick you’re not thinking about technique, you’re not thinking about performance, you’re not thinking about somebody in the audience or what’s going to happen after the gig or the next gig. When I began to interview my heroes in jazz I started my search in the time period I loved most, the early 1970s. The guys I have pursued; Martino, Ndugu, Upchurch and Maupin are individuals who were already established but hit their groove in the early seventies. They had their role models, Lloyd Price, Hampton Hawes, Eric Gale and Horace Silver but mat this point there was a clear passing of the torch. It was time for a youth movement. And this youth movement coincided with a cross current of musical blending, Afro awareness and a belief that they were all in it together.I give a lengthy intro because my guest deserves it. He has received multiple musical degrees from the Berkeley school of music and the New England Conservatory and wound up honing his chops in the studio doing everything from jingles to Christian rock. His comfortability and ease paved the way for him to become one of "the" session drummers from the early seventies working with Patrice Rushen, herbie Hancock, johnny Hammond smith, Donald Byrd, Carole King, Seals and Crofts and Earth Wind and Fire. He made his own albums on Arista and also is an underrated composer which I look forward to talking about with him. He is someone who has left a serious legacy and his affect will have a positive impact on future generations of percussionists. Harvey Mason welcome..... --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jake-feinberg/support

Entre los numerosos artistas con quien Alphonso Johnson ha colaborado, podemos citar a: Chet Baker, Santana, Weather Report, The Crusaders, Bob Weir, Chuck Mangione, George Duke, En Vogue, Wayne Shorter, Sérgio Mendes, Tony Williams, Joe Williams, Gregory Hines, Neal Schon, Tom Coster, Dee Dee Bridgwater, Eric Gale, Ronnie Foster, Allan Holdsworth, Cannonball Adderley, Stanley Clarke, Woody Herman, Eddie Henderson, Flora Purim, Quincy Jones, Lee Ritenour, Phil Collins, Tom Scott, Steve Khan, The Whispers, John McLaughlin, Jeffrey Osborne, Sarah Vaughan, Dori Caymmi, Pino Daniele, Carl Anderson, Jeff Beck, Jan Hammer o Jimmy Page.

In 1973, Perry built a studio in his back yard, the Black Ark, to have more control over his productions and continued to produce notable musicians such as Bob Marley & the Wailers, Junior Byles, Junior Murvin, the Heptones, the Congos and Max Romeo. He also started the Black Art label, on which many of the productions from the studio appeared. With his own studio at his disposal, Perry's productions became more lavish, as the energetic producer was able to spend as much time as he wanted on the music he produced. Virtually everything Perry recorded in The Black Ark was done using basic recording equipment; through sonic sleight-of-hand, Perry made it sound unique. Paul Douglas mentions: Scratch had a particular sound and everybody was fascinated by his sound. He had this way of putting things together; it was just his sound and it influenced a lot of people. I've even gone to the Black Ark with Eric Gale for that Negril album; I remember myself and Val Douglas, we laid some tracks there, Eric Gale overdubbed stuff on there, but I honestly don't remember what happened to it Perry remained behind the mixing desk for many years, producing songs and albums that stand out as a high point in reggae history. By 1978, stress and unwanted outside influences began to take their toll: both Perry and The Black Ark quickly fell into a state of disrepair. Eventually, the studio burned to the ground. Perry has constantly insisted that he burned the Black Ark himself in a fit of rage.

Mina testiklar vandrade aldrig ner. Min penis förblev liten. Min röst kom aldrig i målbrottet. Jag fick varken skägg eller pubeshår. Det berättar Jimmy Scott i biografin Faith in Time The Life of Jimmy Scott av David Ritz. Hela upplagan av skivan Falling in Love is Wonderful dras tillbaka efter bara några dagar. Han gör covers på Nothing Compares 2 U (Prince), Jealous Guy (John Lennon), Almost Blue (Elvis Costello), och Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word (Elton John & Bernie Taupin). Andra artister verksamma här är t ex Count Basie, Sam Cooke, Ray Charles, Sammy Davis, JR, Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, The Jackson 5, Aretha Franklin, Jimi Hendrix, Billie Holiday, Lohn Lee Hooker, Lena Horne, Etta James, B. B. King, Patti LaBelle, Marvin Gaye, Little Richard, The Four Tops, The Miracles, Ike & Tina Turner, The Supremes, The Temptations och Muddy Waters. Fr a när hon gör sina lesbiska standup-akter. 1931 samarbetar Moms Mabley med den erkända afroamerikanska författaren, dramatikern och antropologen Zora Neale Hurston i pjäsen Fast and Furious: A Colored Revue in 37 Scenes. Moms spelar huvudrollen. På TV-bolaget CBS är hon "The Funniest Woman in the World Den roligaste kvinnan i världen och tar upp vassare ämnen än sina komikerkollegor; nämligen rasism, kvinnors rättigheter och homosexualitet. Även Bobby Kennedy nämner hon i texten. Join us, each week, as we teach you how to flip your lifestyle upside-down, by selling stuff online. Are you ready for something different? All right, let's get started. SHANE: What's going on guys? Welcome back to another Q&A with S&J. We are excited to bring you another Expert Q&A today, and we have one of my absolute favorite online experts. We always say, we don't have a lot of time to listen to podcasts but I do catch this guy's podcast, ‘The Art of Paid Traffic' whenever I can. We are bringing on Rick Mulready, the Facebook and paid traffic legend. Rick, welcome to the show, baby! RICK: I've never been intro-ed as a legend – SHANE: You have now. RICK: – but I kinda love that, thanks guys. SHANE: Yeah, you should put that in all of your requirements now to go on anyone's podcast. RICK: I'm going to. It's going on my ‘About' page now. SHANE: I love it. We are totally surprising Rick with all these questions. I told him, I said, we're not even going to tell you the questions this time, so you're gonna have to just come out cold and show how much of a legend you are. So that's how are going to roll today. RICK: I'm up for it. JOCELYN: You got a lot to live up to. SHANE: You got a lot to live up to, I'm telling you. So, let's get to today's question, Jocelyn. JOCELYN: All right, today's question is from Eric Gayle of the christianjedi.com and Eric says, “I'm two months into my online business. I create Bible studies based on the Star Wars movies.” Very interesting. “I use Facebook ads to drive my ‘Likes' to 225+ on my Facebook page, and I also sell my book on Kindle Direct Publishing. My question is, should I use Facebook ads to get more ‘Likes' on my page, or should I use Facebook ads to direct my products on Kindle, or drive traffic to my blog or website? What is the best way to spend money on Facebook?” SHANE: This is a huge question we get on a lot Rick; people are like, where do I spend my money because you know, people want that vanity number, they want a lot of ‘Likes' for social proof, but they also want people going to their websites. So, like what's the best way to spend your money? Should you go after those ‘Likes' or just drive that direct traffic? RICK: Yeah, I generally for most people don't recommend that you spend money on ‘Likes' and getting more fans. And the reason for that is, most of us have limited budgets when we are, you know, running our Facebook ads. So I'd much rather see somebody – I'm sorry, what was the person's name again that asked the question? SHANE: Eric Gayle. RICK: Eric, okay; so Eric, I'd much rather see you and anybody else who's listening, that can relate to this sort of situation, I'd much rather see you run Facebook ads to try to build your email list so that you can develop a relationship with your target customers and your target audience, so you can sell more of your products and services or book, in this case. SHANE: So like, when would you drive the ‘Likes' on the backend of that? RICK: If you have a really big budget, I mean,

EVENING IN PARADISEThe life of Jimmy Scott is not one of meteoric stardom but a journey that has taken nearly seventy years to find its much deserved success.James Victor Scott, one of ten children, was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 17, 1925. He's known for his high haunting soprano voice & poignant balladeering. His up & down recording career, started in the early 1950's, saw a resurgence in the 1990's when he was signed to Sire Records and received a Grammy nomination after a long period of commercial inactivity. Soon after coming out of retirement, he was seen on stages around the world, performing magical & heart breaking interpretations of old torch songs, Broadway standards and even a smattering of choice modern rock tunes done with generally sparse jazz arrangements.Almost strangled by the umbilical cord at birth, then orphaned as a boy in depression era Cleveland, the odds against Jimmy Scott ever suceeding were further stacked by an abnormal genetic pituitary hormonal defect known as "Kallman's Syndrome" which accounts for his somewhat effeminate looks & unnaturally high singing voice.Finding solace onstage, he sang in combos of the post war R&B era, notably as a featured singer with band leader Lionel Hampton, with whom he made his recorded debut in 1950(although his name did not appear on the label). He was finally signed to a steady record deal when he was almost 30, when Herman Lubinsky of Newark's Savoy Records offered Cleveland's finest balladeer a shot circa 1954. Lubinsky, whose label was a great repository of jazz & blues recordings, was also a notorious shyster. In David Ritz's 2002 bio of Jimmy Scott "Faith In Time", Seymour Stein of Sire Records recalls past colleagues at the time calling Savoy Record's Newark HQ the "Slave Barracks". Savoy recorded some well received Little Jimmy Scott sides, but due to Lubinsky's malfeasance, Scott went mostly uncompensated. As time wore on, he grew discontent, started retreating into booze and left the label's fold by the beginning of the 1960's.Over the years the Lubinsky/Savoy contract would stifle Scott in numerous ways, particularly when he tried to break free and record for Ray Charles' Tangerine label in the early 1960's and another time with Atlantic in the late 1960's. Lubinsky would battle to have the records withdrawn, keeping Scott's music from ever hitting the streets en masse.1969's attempt at a comeback LP "The Source" was produced by Joel Dorn for Atlantic, featuring backing from a hot group of players including David Fathead Newman on tenor sax, Eric Gale on guitar and Ron Carter on bass...The record was withdrawn due to lawsuit after the first pressing, for a longtme making it a rare and often bootleged masterpiece.Jimmy's numerous shots at stardom were so hampered by the fiscal mismanagement & bad business dealings, it lead him to frustration, failed relationships, drinking and drugging, and a career ending downward spiral that took him away from the limelight. His talent was never in doubt, but his successes were measured at best.A favorite of performers ranging from Billie Holiday & Dinah Washington, to Frankie Valli, Stevie Wonder, and John Lennon, all whom knew of and expressed respect of his work. Said Quincy Jones once,'Jimmy would tear my heart out every night with his soul-penetrating style"...Even Madonna has said "Jimmy Scott is the only singer who makes me cry,"Strangely enough, it appears death that actually the catalyst that brought Scott's career back to life...By the late 70's and early 80's some of his only gigs were occasional charity appearances at senior citizen homes. Scott's day jobs at Bob's Big Boy and in a Cleveland Sheraton hotel gave him a mindset that was set far from keeping abreast of the changing tastes of a fickle record buying public at the tail end of the 20th century. In 1985, at age 60, he returned to the eastern seaboard, and for the first time in over a decade started working small clubs in New York and Harlem, perhaps getting occasional nostalgic write ups in the NY Times or Village Voice. Scott's subsequent shift back into the public eye ironically began to truly gather momentum at The Riverside Funeral Home on St.Patrick's Day 1991. The sad/happy occasion was legendary rock n roll songwriter and old friend Doc Pomus' funeral.Jimmy had met Pomus back in the 40's, and they had stayed in touch. In fact, in 1987 Doc even wrote a letter to trade publication Billboard extolling Scott's virtues, decrying the hard times he was going through, and warning the record industry not to sleep on a chance to catch the long overdue second coming of Little Jimmy Scott. Now a few years later, Scott sat Shiva and was asked by Doc's family to perform "Someone To Watch Over Me" at the funeral, along with backing from fellow old timers Dr. John on piano and Fathead Newman on sax. Scott arrived early and sat unasumedly with hands folded in the back with his 4th wife Earlene. After the colorful eulogies, Jimmy's haunting voice over the tinkling keys stunned the room, with many so far back they could barely see his tiny head over the crowd. The room was filled with dozens of music biz luminaries, like Ahmet Ertegun, Jerry Wexler, and the aforementioned Seymour Stein of Sire who felt it was almost his spiritual duty to Doc to simply offer Scott a dignified deal.Jimmy later told a reporter in 2000 of the bittersweet good fortune coming from his friend's death, " The next day, this cat from Warners comes over with a contract. It was like Doc's hand reaching out from the grave."He went on to many new career highights ranging from appearing in David Lynch's Twin Peaks & having sold out shows across the US & Europe to performing onstage at Bill Clinton's inaugural ball gala in DC.Still Scott copes with the fact that his type of fame is fleeting, and has duly noted this phenomena when he sang onstage in the 1990's with the Grateful Dead to a crowd of thousands in his hometown of Cleveland, where the local daily paper referred to him as an "unknown female singer".Since the quirky career kickstart given to Scott from Pomus' funeral, he has continued touring, recorded some 8 or so albums on half dozn labels, and added a 5th wife to his bio as well. Now with his aged infirmities creeping in, Scott is restricted to moving around onstage via wheelchair...Music continues to be his life into his eighties, once telling ajournalist “I love performing. You live with reality every day. You can’t miss it. We can try to avoid a lot of trials in life, but it’s better to overcome than avoid. That’s what music has been for me. It’s been my opportunity to overcome.”"All I can do is give what I really feel." "It'll work out in the end. You gotta believe" Jimmy ScottTo Visit JIMMY SCOTT'S website CLICK HERE

For episode 16 of Love That Album podcast, we see the return of an artist previously discussed on the show, Paul Simon. Back in 1980, the music world was on the cusp of an onslaught of New Wave. Paul Simon wrote and starred in a film called One Trick Pony about a journeyman musician trying to find if he still has a place in the new musical landscape. Famous in the sixties for one anti-war song, he now has to compete with the new popular bands (the B52s make an appearance), swim around the sharks at his record company, work out where he fits with a wife he divorces but still loves, and how to maintain good parenting skills. Most of all he wants to serve his muse – but is being on the road with his band the way to do it? Especially in a climate that’s long forgotten he exists? The band in the film includes long-time Simon associates Steve Gadd and Richard Tee, as well as King Crimson’s Tony Levin and jazz guitarist Eric Gale. (The music also shows that Simon was no slouch in the guitar playing department). For years, I’ve loved the OTP album but hated the movie.  In revisiting the film for this podcast, I’ve changed that assessment somewhat. Justin Bozung (host of the wonderful Mondo Film Podcast) and I discuss both the film and the album in some detail. Justin saw this as more biographical about Simon than I did, but he convinced me that the themes raised in this film about family (band and nuclear), doing things the way you must, and walking in on your bandmates while they’re bathing were very well covered (even if the acting is wooden – we’ll have to differ on that one, Justin). We had a fascinating conversation and I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. You can download (or stream) the episode from http://lovethatalbum.blogspot.com or search for “lovethatalbum” (all one word) in iTunes. Send written feedback or mp3 voicemail to rrrkitchen@yahoo.com.au. Join the Love That Album Facebook page and start a music discussion.  If you like the show, I’d be grateful if you left a line or two of feedback for the show at iTunes.
