30 years ago, a 120mph puncture sent Mika Hakkinen's car spinning over a high kerb and into a wall of tyres. His McLaren did not have many of the safety devices modern F1 cars have. Mika suffered serious injuries which left him in hospital, unsure if he would ever race again. Mika tells Tom Clarkson he thinks about his crash at the 1995 Australian Grand Prix every day, and he remembers the moment he lost control of the car and hit the wall vividly. He talks about his physical and mental recovery and the nerves he felt the first time he got back into a Formula 1 car after the crash. Hakkinen returned to Formula 1 for the 1996 season, but says the crash had a lasting impact. He recalls how he shook off his doubts, rediscovered his speed and became strong enough to win the Formula 1 World Championship in 1998 and 1999. Track limits, leaving the track and gaining an advantage, causing a collision, not leaving space at apexes, marshals on track with cars at full speed, contentious VSC on the penultimate lap, maybe at some point we'll get some racing in? The Mexican Grand Prix this year wasn't the best day for F1 race direction and the ever rotating cast of stewards. Amongst all the controversy we still got one of the best races of the season with battles going on all the way down the grid, even Lance Stroll managed to get a clean overtake in (if that doesn't say it's the end of days, I don't know what does.) And through all that, the 3 way battle for the championship is still going on and going down to the wire.This week on the podcast we look back at the Mexican Grand Prix where Lando Norris managed to re-take the lead in the Word Driver's Championship for the first time since before the Suadi Arabian GP, after a very off the boil start to the weekend for team-mate and rival Oscar Piastri. But you can't forget the looming shadow of Max Vertappen, who is still up there too.As always there's some attempts at predictions for how the rest of the season is going to pan out as we've still got 4 races and 2 sprints to go and it's really anyone's guess as to who is going to walk away with the 2025 crown. A fantastic Mexican GP that was gripping from beginning to finish that saw Lando Norris have one of the best weekends he`s had in his F1 carrier. From scoring pole to a dominating win, to take the lead in the championship from the first time ! Good performance from Ferrari and Charles, an unfortunate 10sec penalty derailed Hamilton who also was having a good weekend until then. An absolutely fantastic race from Bearman from Hass to finish a team history best 4th position, he had a fantastic race!

Colton Herta is a nine-time winner in the NTT IndyCar Series including the youngest ever at the Circuit of the Americas track in Austin, Texas. He has also dominated events like the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. It was recently announced that he would be leaving his Andretti Global Indy car team and moving on to become the test and reserve driver for the new Cadillac Formula One team. It's also expected for him to compete in the full F2 schedule as well, although as of this writing, no details have been announced. Herta spent 2015 and 2016 racing and winning in Europe in the junior formulae there, so that should also help ease his transition a bit. We caught up with him at the AGPLB media day where he filled us in on the intricacies of getting the most out of the Firestone primary (black) and alternate (red/green) tires for qualifying and racing. This knowledge will be beneficial to him in F1 as Pirelli also uses different tire compounds during race weekends.
