He is doing well, living in a home near to his thriving business, which is similarly near to the ocean. When he made his next move into his current business, he focussed more on building around his passions and finding the right partner who would share his focus on building authenticity into the brand. In this episode of What CEOs Talk About, host Martin Hunter and Kevin Tighe discuss the details of how Kevin funded Beachly Brands and why he felt strongly about putting his own money in after the experience of losing other people's money with his earlier companies. https://youtu.be/es05W72lzv4 Watch Jesus Move Matt 8:1-17 2 A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”There's a few parts of this story that I find interesting- One- there were mutitudes following him, but only one came out of the crowd to be healed and he worshipped himNow if you don't know anything about leprosy- this was a debilitating condition. It would create open sores, scabs and lesions on a person. They would bleed and be filled with pus. They might lose hands, fingers or feet and then only get around by crawling. A complete outcastIn bible times- it was thought to be highly contagious- so many people avoided these types and because of the lack of healthcare- the priests were the one who determined if the person who had or was exposed to leprosy was able to be be in society or if they needed to be quarantined. You have to put yourself in this mans situation- an outcast- labeled -quarantined- unable to take part in society- and he comes out the crowd- and Goes to Jesus and says “If you are willing” This was a man of faith. A man who was surrounded by other people, but had a need and humbled himself and put himself before the one he knew could heal himHow many relationships were broken. How many people distanced themselves from himBut he goes “If you you are willing” if you can do it. I want to be healed. Now I don't know anything about this guy. If he was Jew or a gentile. I don't know. But the word of God was there during that time. Maybe he went to synagogue. Maybe he had faithMaybe Psalm 147:3 He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. Jeremiah 33:6 Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth. Those are faith scriptures! Those are healing scriptures! And then Jesus tells him ‘go and show the priest' a few reasons- 1 Jesus wanted to honor the law of God in regards to leprosy- he wasn't anti-law he came to fulfill it- so he sends him to the priest as was required by the law. 2 He wanted the priests and religious leaders to see that this man was healed because healing was a promise of the arrival of the messiah.  Isaiah 35:5-6 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, And the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert. This healing is yet another proof of Jesus ability to heal the sick and his messiahshipAnd why was he healed? Because Jesus can heal- and he was humble enough to askHe could have stayed in his condition- he could have stayed with the crowd- lived in his painBut he walked in humbleness and faith and believed! Psalm 41:3 The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will [a]sustain him on his sickbed. What does it mean to you? What do you need Jesus to do for you in your life and what haven't you seen happen because you refuse to leave the crowd and bow before Jesus and say “If you are willing” and see what he does!We live in a different time- we don't walk around in groups and follow itinerant preachers claiming to be messiah. We know the truth- we know who Jesus is- we just lack humblenessNow some would say courage- but I think we're overrun with courage- we need humbleness we need to learn how to bow the knee and go before the Lord and put it in his hands- not control itProverbs 22:4 By humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches and honor and life. Are you humble- do you fear the lord? Do you see him as your source and healer? Or are you on your own doing it your way on your terms? God wants you to come to him and trust himPsalm 103:2-3 Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits:3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases,All of them! I believe God is a healer- I believe that he can and he will heal all disease- see the problem is that nowadays people don't ...

Many in our culture believe that there’s more than one pathway to God. Isn’t the sheer number and variety of world religions proof of this after all?In this event audio, Scott Stein discusses how people more often adopt this belief because they’ve heard it so often, as opposed to having really thought it through. A way to effectively respond in our witness, therefore, is by using good questions to appeal to their reason.Scott exploresThe importance of appealing to reason and biblical support for this approachWhat the truth about God is actually rooted in and why this supersedes what we might choose to believe about himHow different world religions understand God and what this tells us about the idea of pluralismQuestions we can ask people to help them think through their assumptions, so that intellectual roadblocks to the message of the gospel can be removed Walk away with some respectful and practical talking points for the next time you encounter the “all paths lead to God” objection to the gospel. To watch the video and get related resources, visit the blog post: | https://preparedtoanswer.org/all-religions-lead-to-god-responseSupport the show (https://preparedtoanswer.org/donate/)

The author of the book- The Last Casino begins our show by explaining what it was like growing up in NY right after WWII. Ralph takes about an incident as a young kid fishing that shook him and led to him seeing a movie in a way you more than likely have not. We hear a great story about Ralph being a shoe salesman that led to get some inside tips on horse betting that at first was very lucrative. At age of 19, he left NY for LA and ended up meeting several movie stars and becoming friends with Lee Marvin. In 1958, Ralph drove thru Las Vegas and basically never left. His first experience is a must listen as he meets up with two French showgirls at the El Rancho Casino. Ralph talks about meeting and his relationships with Elvis, Chuck Norris, and Colonel Tom Parker. (All great stuff). Did he know when went to work at the Dunes Casino that it was run by the mob and did he ever see anyone skimming money? Why the job of working in the baccarat was wanted by many in the casino industry? After a few developments at this position his tire was slashed and what he found in the trunk of his car! We end the show with hearing how he brought championship boxing back to Atlantic City in 1980-1982 and bringing the Playboy Centerfolds to his casino and a funny story about a call from Hugh Hefner. Links:The Last Casino Website: http://www.thelastcasino.net/Last Casino Book: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1482378469/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Copy of the telegram from Meyer Lansky: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FL-WQ8ogRL-QnKKC8tAh_DFWeZdXq1Yw/view?usp=sharingFollow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beforethelightspodcast/Reflection Bay Golf Club: https://reflectionbaygolf.com/Join Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/beforethelightsBefore the Lights Merchandise: https://www.beforethelightspod.com/merch Extra 5:Hear Ralph's relationship with Redd Foxx and the gambling habit Redd hadA funny story about Ralph and Redd Foxx at the craps tableAsking for an autograph from Elvis and what he sent himHow he met and his relationship with astronaut Buzz Aldrin Support the show (https://www.beforethelightspod.com/member-areas)

In episode 32, we talk to Jim Farm about different attachment styles that form when we are young, and how they continue to influence every relationship that we have in our adulthood. Jim describes the four attachment styles: avoidant, anxious, disorganized, and secure. These styles continue throughout our life, unless we intentionally change them. Jim explains how an insecure attachment can inhibit our ability to be vulnerable. This impacts our relationship with others and even things, which can lead to addiction. He also shares that trauma has an impact on our attachment bonds. Towards the end, Jim shares that no matter what attachment style we developed when we were young, we can learn how to be safe and accessible individuals in our adult life. Sermon Discussion Questions 1) What we believe reveals a lot about us. What are some popular beliefs that reflect well on us in our current cultural climate? What are some unpopular beliefs that don't reflect so well? 2) A.W. Tozer famously wrote, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” More specifically, what we think about Christ as the pre-existent Son incarnated for us and for our salvation is the most important thing about us. What comes into your mind when you think about the Word who was made flesh to make us children of God? 3) Many times, in response to a text of Scripture, we ask: so what? The "so what?” of John 1:1-18 seems to be not only that we believe, but that we might see the glory of Christ (1:14). To adore and stand in awe of Him… How does this beautiful Word as the full self-expression of God lead you into deeper worship of God?

One of the central truths we affirmation as God’s people is that the transformation in ourlives does not result from our wisdom, or strength, or talent, or insight. It is from God’sHoly Spirit. He is the One who teaches us, leads us, transforms us, and empowers us todo God’s work. But many of us don’t know much about this Holy Spirit. Who is He? Howshould I relate to Him? How can I cooperate better with the work He is doing in andthrough my life? Let’s talk about it this Sunday, as we discuss A New Fire!   But we, who have had the veil removed that kept us from seeing clearly, are seeing, like it was in a mirror the glory of the Lord, and ourselves being transformed into that same image from one glory to a glory from the Lord, by the Spirit.     II Corinthians 3:18

What new ways has God lead us personally and collectively during this difficult season? How can trials help us to be pilgrims and exiles in this world, rather than being situated here? How can it sharpen our focus on the kingdom of God and grow? How can we be purposeful to discover God in this trial rather than passively trying to get past it? Peter Watt's big canvas Australian historicals have garnered a popular following far beyond the shores of his homeland. And that's how Peter - a man of action who's been described as “the Australian Wilbur Smith” - likes it, because he's always had a primary aim of entertaining readers and elevating Aussie stories to international notice. Hi there, I'm your host Jenny Wheeler and today Peter talks about living his dream life – volunteer fire fighting for six months of the year and writing his new historical series in the other six . Six things you'll learn from this Joys of Binge Reading episode: Why he's got the ideal lifeHow Wallarie became a star in GermanyThe little known history that excites himHow his passion for Aussie history has inspired othersThe writers he admires the mostWhat he'd do differently next time: (you'll be surprised!) Jenny: But now, here's Peter. .  Hello there Peter and welcome to the show, it's great to have you with us. How Peter got started as an author Peter:  Hello Jenny and 'Kia Ora' to all my New Zealand readers. (Ed note: Kia Ora is a Maori greeting of welcome.) Peter Watt: Author and volunteer fire fighter Jenny:  That's fantastic, and you do have a lot of New Zealand readers.  We'll get on to that.  But beginning at the beginning, I always like to ask this question although it's maybe a little clichéd – was there a “Once Upon a Time” moment when you decided that you wanted to write fiction?  And if so, what was the catalyst for it? Peter:  Yes, well I've looked at this question many times and I think I was aged 7 sitting on a tractor …. driving round and round in circles, and of course in those days there were no cabins, you just sucked in the diesel and sucked up the dust, and I thought to myself, I'm going to start creating stories in my head so I don't go mad.  It started there, Jenny. Jenny:  But it took you a long time then to get round to doing it. Peter:  Yes, you know, we make the mistake of letting life get in the way and not devoting ourselves to what we really want to do.  I was about 50 when I commenced writing “Cry of the Curlew” (Book One in the Frontier series) and from there it's been history, with all the other books following. Cry of the Curlew: #1 in the Frontier series Jenny:  Did you always know it would be historical fiction that you would want to write? Peter:  Yes, most definitely.  I was influenced by James A. Michener, Leon Uris and many of those other American writers who tended to write with the historical background. I always thought that our part of the world, Australia and New Zealand, had got very little exposure in literature, so I devoted myself to that.  Jenny:  I know you've said that actually you probably have been responsible for a little bit of a tourist boom drawing people to Australia, having become interested in the Australian stories, so you've been successful at that. Peter:  Yes, it's nice when I receive emails from American readers who say, you know we never thought about coming to Australia until we read one of your books.  And I would sometimes meet them at the airport and give them a bit of a guided tour. Peter's 12-book Aussie family saga  Jenny:  Fantastic!  What a lovely thing.  You've led a remarkably adventurous life and we'll get onto that, but your series – you've got a 12 books Frontier series which is a very big family drama, in fact it follows the rivalry between two families and now you've started a new series, The Queen's Colonial.  There have been a few stand alones and I think a Papua New Guinea trilogy in the middle there somewhere, but let's talk about the latest book,
