In this bonus episode, The Spark, we welcome back Gnome Taylor, senior creative at Grey London, for a lighter, more personal chat. After Monday's powerful conversation on resilience, Gnome returns to answer some of our signature questions—giving us a glimpse of the person behind the job title. From why kindness is the best lesson she's learned in her career, to the odd comfort she gets from even numbers, Gnome shares stories with humour and heart. We talk about the ideas she's proud of (even the ones that never made it), her unexpected Joe Pasquale impression, and why her sock drawer is so meticulously organised it includes a single, unwearable pair. Gnome also opens up about sleep struggles, audiobook obsessions, and what she'd like to see from future male role models. Her answer? Less bravado, more empathy. This is a warm, thoughtful episode that celebrates quirks, creativity, and the quiet power of simply being kind. This season is proudly sponsored by the School of Communication Arts.

Biography Steve is an actor, writer, comedian, juggler, a "Gillard award" winning presenter on BBC Radio Lancashire and now a finalist on ITV's Britain's Got Talent 2020. Steve most recently completed his 17th consecutive pantomime at The Grand Theatre, Blackpool (and his 22nd Pantomime in total) and was also made an honourary member of The Friends Of The Grand in 2016 for his services to the theatre. Last year he starred, to critical acclaim, in the World premier tour of "Naturally Insane: The Life of Dan Leno" and is taking the show to the West End (Criterion Theatre). In 2015 he performed 16 nights at The Manchester Arena as part of the "Phoenix Nights Live" show, helping raise well over £ 5 million in the process. He also appeared at the London Palladium twice within a month later that year when he performed as part of the TV show "Sunday Night At The Palladium" and as warm-up for "One Night With Neil Diamond". He spent many years as "Special Guest" on Dave Spikey's Tours and has supported several other top comedic names including Peter Kay, Mick Miller, Roy Walker and The Lancashire Hotpots! He was also the first comic, ever, to act as "Warm-up" for The Royal Variety Show featuring Take That, Rod Stewart, Barry Manilow and Meatloaf. He is a regular Television "warm-up" for programs such as "The Rob Brydon Show", "A Question Of Sport", "Mastermind" and even survived over 150 episodes of "The Price is Right" with Joe Pasquale a few years ago. Steve's first love, however, is Stand-Up and it is a job that has taken him all over the world: Cruises in the Med, Norwegian Fjords and the Caribbean, hotels and comedy clubs in Hong Kong, Dubai, Crete, Cyprus, Turkey and Japan. He is a regular headline act at The Comedy Store and other "alternative" venues and has several television appearances to his credit. "Phoenix Nights", "Max And Paddy's Road To Nowhere", "Peter Kay's Britain's Got The Pop Factor...", "Stand-up Britain", "Give Your Mate A Break", "The Afternoon Show", "Talk Of The North", a "Real Radio" advert, straight acting roles in "The Things You Do For Love" and "Magnolia", and despite being one of the North West's healthiest males, a medical insurance commercial for "Medicash". He was also featured on the Granada Programme "Behind The Scenes" and "That's Entertainment" (with Cannon and Ball) and was voted "Entertainer of the Year" at the inaugural Red Rose Awards. For over 12 years Steve could be found in the guise of "Mad Edgar" the court jester at Camelot theme park where he presented over 2000 "Crazy Juggling Shows". For years, the father-of-three has been encouraged by family and friends to audition for Britain's Got Talent, but didn't expect to get far. However in August 2020, Steve became the first act sent through to the final, impressing judges with his comedy juggling routines. For 51-year-old Steve, this is the latest journey in a rich history in the world of entertainment. Steve previously charmed the judges in the audition round, with his impressive juggling skills, using his mouth to juggle ping-pong balls before juggling three guitars. His semi final performance was a huge change for Steve, who is used to feeding off an audiences live reaction - the show had to be pre-recorded this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, and social distancing, and saw Steve perform to a huge Zoom wall of viewers, as well as the shows judges. The judges unanimously chose to send him through. As Ant and Dec confirmed the news, Steve said it was "crazy and unbelievable" that he had made it through, although he left the entire panel in stitches. The grand final took place in October 2020 and Steve was placed third overall. Which was a wonderful conclusion to an amazing run on the show. And Steve is looking forward to seeing you on tour next year. So watch this space.

Sir Ken Dodd's career spanned over 70 years in show business and might I say at the Top of his game. He was Liverpool's very own and even The Beatles adored him as one of the greatest comedians we have ever seen. Doddy as he was known to millions had an encyclopaedia of a mind for comedy words, gags, routines and song whilst also topping the charts with his own albums as he had a beautiful voice he didn't even need comedy to earn his living. Ken Dodd stayed true to his roots and never left his childhood home in Knotty Ash, Liverpool. He was Mr Variety, the GodFather of Comedy and King of the Diddy men.Although we lost Ken aged 90, he was still planning to return to the stage to continue touring but nature took its course and took from us an idol and someone who inspired many generations of comedians, actors, singers, magicians and ventriloquists across the country. In my final podcast in tribute to Sir Ken I talk with his friends, writers, support acts and his dear wife Lady Anne Jones about the man they loved and adored. And now he has left us there is more Doddy out there than ever so he will always be in Liverpool.Welcome to Eyes & Teeth Sir Ken Dodd xxx

Ginger and Nuts are award-winning radio presenters who burst onto the airwaves weekly with non-stop banter and unpredictability. It's no wonder they were voted 'Best Community Radio Show'.The quick-witted duo have a natural ability when putting their guests at ease and have indisputably interviewed some of the biggest names in showbiz. From the Disco Diva Gloria Gaynor, Bond Girl Britt Ekland, and boxing legend Nigel Benn to exclusives with the entire cast of ITV1s award-winning crime drama, 'The Bay. They have also had memorable chats with Sir Ken Dodd, Freddie Starr and John Challis ('Boycie' from Only Fools and Horses), who are all sadly no longer with us.  With more than 30 years of radio experience between them, Ginger and Nuts have attracted support from Disney, Marvel and Empire Cinemas. Without blowing their trumpet too much, they also boast 20k fans on TikTok.Katherine said, "We were also born to be herd, so we are delighted to be joining Cotswolds Radio and hope to entertain your loyal listeners".FROM TV TO RADIODarren has previously presented slots on BBC Children In Need, alongside Alan Titchmarsh, in front of a live studio audience. More recently, he was featured on Life Stories with Piers Morgan supporting his friend, Michael Barrymore.Comedian Bob Monkhouse OBE who wrote comedy for the likes of the legendary Bob Hope, was also a fan of Darren's unique presenting style. He said: "You've got it all, Darren - energy, ideas, fluency, wit and charm. You come over the airwaves like a breezy friend and a really warm person. It's so important to be true to yourself and pour your natural personality into that microphone, and that's what you do. You have the common touch. "After listening to you, I felt I knew you and liked you."BEHIND THE MICFor 26 years, Darren worked as a PR and Marketing Guru for West Midlands Police and achieved more than 12 Commendations for his creativity. Using his cheeky charm, he enlisted the support of big names like Myleene Klass and Chris Tarrant to endorse a recruitment campaign for the Special Constabulary for free.He also produced a charity single, 'Bobby's Girl', with singer Hayley Evetts who reached the finals of Pop Stars alongside Will Young. Darren and three police officers were the backing singers providing the 'ahh-hums'. He managed to persuade comedian Joe Pasquale to add his dulcet tones to what was a fun single that not only raised funds for The John Taylor Hospice in Birmingham but also the profile of West Midlands Police. He met Katherine, who also worked for the police, and they decided to date after discussing who would bring the Black Pudding to the Christmas buffet. In case you wanted to know, Darren did - and it was a big 'un.Within a year, they hit the national headlines after pranking family and friends into thinking Darren was to star in a new movie. Needless to say, the guests turning up to the make-believe premiere were, in fact, attending their wedding at the cinema. The rest is history, as they say.MENTAL HEALTH AMBASSADORSOn a more serious note, Darren's release from chronic pain, fatigue and mental health is presenting the 'Ginger and Nuts' show weekly.Behind the mic, he has been diagnosed with various long-term debilitating conditions, including Arthritis, Spine Disease, Syringomyelia (cyst on the spinal cord) and Fibromyalgia (widespread pain). He had to give up the job he loved to do due to his decline in health. He openly talks about his struggles with chronic anxiety and depression, in which he has been under a psychiatrist for more than four years. To help manage his condition, he is under a pain management specialist and is prescribed many controlled drugs such as Morphine. As well as caring for Darren during his flare-ups, Katherine has had seven miscarriages and nearly died during the last miscarriage, which landed on Father's Day a few years ago. It was heartbreaking. Earlier this year, the pair raised £503.43p for the Give a Duck Foundation.

Ray Tizzard has worked alongside some of the greats in British comedy and been able to make them laugh, so it is little wonder that this episode turned out to be one of the funniest (and most fun) Chris has done to date! To many, Ray will be remembered as Joe Pasquale's hapless twin-brother Raynard, who joined him on stage in countless acts of pure comedy genius. Ray was also the hand behind (or beneath!) Larry the Loafer as part of The Brian Conley Show, playing the squeaky sidekick to Conley's Nick Frisbee, calling many a cry of "It's A Puppet!" Chris not only chats to Ray about his most famous roles but other work he has been involved in (including writing tours for other iconic children's favourites, The Sooty Show and Rainbow!) and a hint at possible projects yet to come! Don't be a puppet - you simply HAVE to give this one a listen! Be sure to follow Ray on Twitter (@raytizzard) to keep up-to-date with everything he will be up to. Wayne Dobson was born in Leicester and was just a youngster when he discovered the fun of magic for the first time. At just 16 years of age became the youngest-ever member of the Leicester Magic Circle. Throughout his teens he worked on his magic becoming a real master and having great fun performing to friends and family, and the occasional show at his local youth club. "David Nixon, Pat Page, Roy Johnson and Ken Brooke were all great influences on me." Wayne was also inspired by another brilliant man of magic, Dai Vernon. "I think it was because of Dai Vernon's influence that I became so interested in close-up magic. He was revered, and rightly so, by all the modern-day magicians and illusionists. He was one of the great innovators. The 'Cups and Balls' routine was one of his specialities." At just 16 Wayne was demonstrating great flair and originality and started to pick up local engagements and club work, on a semi-professional basis. In 1977 he was a joint first prize winner in the close-up competition at the IBM British Ring Convention. This led to his television debut on BBC TV's Blue Peter. At just 21 he decided to become a professional magician. Wayne was achieving great things on the notoriously difficult British club circuit. His original style of magic with fast talking patter and hilarious split-second one liners was having its effect. A run of tours with some of the UK's top performers ensued; Wayne opened for Freddie Starr, Shirley Bassey and the Shadows. The TV companies picked up on Wayne's magic and he performed on a number of top shows. In 1988 accompanied Engelbert Humperdinck on a comprehensive American tour which saw him entertaining in Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Hollywood, Los Angeles, Atlantic City and Chicago. The tour was a tremendous success. Wayne was blessed with a rare talent for blending great humour and great magic, evidenced by the high regard accorded him by fellow entertainers. Dean Martin was a fan and took him to Las Vegas.. In 1988 he was diagnosed with MS, his future was redefined in a moment; his world became inverted and uncertain. In the face of such adversity most would be tempted to give it up, quietly fade away into the unknown. Wayne didn't give up, he saw it as a defining moment, he rose to the challenge, he continued to work, and he discovered his real and true friends like Joe Pasquale. Within the fraternity of magic he was regarded as an icon, frequently lecturing to the numerous societies up and down the country, his natural wit and ability to create wonderful magic effects found continuing favour. He was still a gifted entertainer and now he was to become an inspiration to others. In this interview Wayne looks back at his career at the highs and the lows.  He talks about how to make a name for yourself in the magic industry, creativity and how anyone can be creative.  He also talks about his hopes and dreams and also talks about his new series of books which should be published in December 2021.
